"Shine upon this world, Infinite Tsukuyomi!"
It was the fourth great shinobi war and the Infinite Tsukuyomi was cast upon the world. The eternal dream had begun and nothing could stop it now. Its light pierced all shadow and encompassed the entire world of Elem.
Only Sasuke, a wielder of the Rinnegan, could block the light. Right now, he shields himself, Naruto, Kakashi, and Sakura from the all-consuming power of the Jutsu that trapped the entire world in a dream of their own perfect world. For minutes that felt like hours, the four members of Team Seven waited for the light of the Jutsu to subside so that they could safely walk Elem once more to confront the caster of the world-scale Jutsu.
"Hahaha, I've done it! I've brought true peace to this accursed world. I, Madra Uchiha, have finally freed shinobi of their long history of fighting!" The mad Uchiha, who was responsible for not only the Justus but the devastating war that came before it, laughed in triumph.
Elated that his dream of world peace through a perfect eternal dream had finally been achieved. Now, all that was left to oppose Madara's gift to the Ninja world were Team 7 but before he would kill them, he wanted to find out why they had rejected this gift. After all, to be a ninja in this world was to suffer and he could not understand why they would choose suffering when all it would take to have your own eternal utopia was to close you're eyes and dream. So, to dissuade any immediate fighting, Madara quickly activated his signature, yet unseen Rinnegan ability, Limbo: Border Jail, and surrounded the motley crew of ninjas with them.
"Naruto we're surrounded by his shadows," Sasuke discreetly informed his teammate of the clones Madara sent out to surround them after spotting them in the invisible world with his Rinnegan.
"I know," Naruto responded with an equal amount of discrepancy while slightly tensing up to respond to any threat to him or his team at a moment's notice.
"Right now..." Madara spoke at a volume just above shouting to the only other awake people on Elem. "...everyone in the divine tree is dreaming of their ideal world a perfect world. They are happy. Free from pain, suffering, and emptiness. Why would you try to stop this?" Madara asked curiously.
A frown made its way on Saskuke face at Madara's question before he answered. "Right now all your doing is fooling people."
"Yeah, what Sasuke said," Naruto chimed in. "All you're doing is feeding people a huge lie! People aren't really happy, you're just making them feel that way!"
"They're not happy hmmm?" Madara pondered out loud with a serious contemplative face. Then the Rinne Sharingan of his forehead twitched a bit erratically as he used its power to see into the dream of a particularly shinobi with strong ties to naruto. After a few moments, Madara's face went from contemplative to amused. "I don't know about that Naruto, It seems that Hyuga girl is enjoying quite a dream."
"What?" Naruto sputtered. He was confused about who the ancient Uchiha was talking about before thinking about the only female Hyuga he was close to. "Are you talking about Hinata? Don't you dare talk about her!" Naruto shouted in outrage. He didn't like that a madman like Madara was setting his focus on one of his currently helpless friends. The only reason he hadn't charged head-first at Madara yet was because Kakashi was holding him back while giving him hard look that practically ordered him to calm down.
"Yes," Madara confirmed smugly. "Right now she dreaming of... ooh... a family," Madara said while sounding a little scandalized. "Not just any family..." A sinister grin began to form on the Juubi host's face. "...but a family with you Naruto."
The news hit Naruto like a wind-style Rasengan. The knowledge that Hinata's perfect world revolved around having a family with him was just too much for the Asura reincarnate to process. He knew Hinata had strong feelings for him the day she risked her life to save him from Nagato -the same man who had fought the entire leaf village as Pain and won-. Her feelings for him became, even more, apparent when he got emotion sensing from Kurama. But until now, he'd always chalked it up to camaraderie or admiration despite confirming with Kurama's power that the feelings he was sensing of her were love. Hearing now that she wanted more than camaraderie and friendship with him, even from an enemy, honestly had made him both happy and confused at how she fell in love with him.
"Right now," Madara continued, in spite of the tumultuous feelings he saw flash across the Uzamaki's face "...the Hyuga girl is dreaming of playing with your son and daughter, Bolt and Himawari I believe. Cute little thing, they even have your whisker marks and eyes." Madara stopped talking for a bit and focused on the only awake shinobi on Elem to gauge their reaction to his words.
Sasuke and Kakashi's faces didn't show any reactions other than a frown for the latter and indifference for the former. The pink-haired girl, Sakura, seemed to be more worried about the effect his words had on the nine-tails jinchuriki than what he said, and Naruto himself looked shocked beyond words. His mouth kept opening and closing as if trying and failing to find words to say to him and Madara could practically see Naruto envisioning what he was describing in the Hyuga girl's dream as if the boy was under a genjutsu and he was controlling it.
'Good,' Madara thought. 'I'm making headway.' With a small smirk, Madara resumed his speech from earlier. "Your right when you say that everything the people see in their dream is a lie, but the Hyuga girl's happiness is real, her fulfillment is real, and to her, your children are real. To stop the Jutsu I have cast upon this world would be the same as forcing her to watch your children die. Could you do that to her Naruto Uzumaki? Could you do that to the millions of others currently dreaming of similar things as the Hyuga girl?" Madara paused a bit to let them process his words before pitching his offer. "If not, then join me and surrender to the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Do so and I will connect the Hyuga girl's dream to yours and then you too can enjoy that family and hold your children." Madara stretched out his hand for Naruto to take. "I recommend you decide quickly, my patients and mercy may be immense but even they have limits."
Nobody in Team Seven said or did anything to convince Naruto not to take the deal or even make preparations to stop him in case he decided to accept it. Even Sasuke. They all knew Naruto, better than almost anyone else, and certainly better than Madara. Even when Naruto looked anguished at the thought of putting Hinata and everyone in the Infinite Tsukuyomi through something as cruel as ripping them away from their dream, they knew that his resolve would not waver. So it came as a surprise to no one what his answer to Madara's deal was.
"All dreams end when the dreamer wakes up," Naruto spoke with a bit of sadness in his voice. "Every last one of them." Naruto paused his speech a bit to get his emotions fully under control. Then with zeal and conviction to match Madara's own, Naruto spoke again. "This eternal dream your talking about doesn't exist, only an eternal prison! What Hinata's seeing right now isn't a dream at all, it's a trap for her mind and you know it! Maybe your right about her coming to love and cherish what she sees in that prison and maybe she'll want it back when she's free. But that's why, when we save her and everyone else trapped in this prison Jutsu," Naruto put his left fist on his heart and stuck his right fist out. "I'll make Hinata's dream into reality or my name isn't Naruto Uzumaki, Believe It!"
While absolutely no one was surprised at Naruto's rejection of the deal Madara proposed. His declaration to marry Hinata was, to say the least, baffling. Everyone on team seven went wide-eyed. Even Sasuke, try as the Avenger might not to show it on his face. If the last awake shinobi weren't trying to save the world right now congratulations would be in order.
"And everyone else?" Madara quired. "What about their dreams?"
Naruto looked Madara near dead in the eye but not directly -because everyone knows the first rule of fighting an Uchiha- and spoke with unwavering conviction, "I can't make everyone's dreams a reality, but no one can if they're trapped in this farce of a Jutsu!"
Madara was not happy, he supposed he should have expected this outcome given the tenacity and headstrong nature of the boy, but he wanted to try anyway since he had already won when he put the world under his genjutsu. "Hmph, I suppose I shouldn't have expected brats who have resisted this much to see eye to eye with me." Briefly, Madara entertained the idea of trying to catch them in the Infinite Tyukiyomi again so that they would see the error of their ways and enjoy his gift to Elem but dismissed the idea since it was infeasible. Naruto and Sasuke had become too powerful to capture. He would have to kill them. "Just know this... It's all over."
Figuring the time for talk was over, Team 7 either got into stances or got ready to weave Jutsu. However, before the battle to end all Ninja Wars took place, Black Zetsu, who was controlling Obito's body, stabs Madara in the back. Both figuratively and literally.
"No, Madara." Black Zetsu says with barely contained joy. "This is not the end. Only the beginning!" Black Zetsu rips his arm out of Madara along with the chakra of the ten tails and absorbs it into himself.
'What?' Madara thought as all the energy in his body left with the ten tails. 'He ripped the Ten-Tails right out of me! I know it didn't stabilize within me but this should still be impossible!'
Madara's body hit the floor while his power plummeted and his body weakened from the extraction, for the first time in many years, Madara was afraid. In just mere seconds his power, planned and built for over a hundred years was stolen and his dream was put under threat. All while he was completely clueless as to why.
"My dear Madara," Black Zetsu spoke to the downed Uchiha like a father explaining to a particularly slow child. "You've also been inside a phantom dream. Inside a dream, I've concocted! This whole time, my only objective was the resurrection of Kaguya!" As if responding to the name of the progenitor, the chakra from everyone in the shinobi alliance surged forward and into Black Zetsu. "And now, through my sacrifice, mother will be reborn!"
Black Zetsu started rapidly expanding from all the chakra he was absorbing. So much so that Obito, whose body was under Black Zetsu's control, was flung from the backstabber. As Black Zetsu's body swelled more and more, it took a shape and look not too dissimilar to a truth-seeking orb.
"This is bad Sasuke! This chakra is even more powerful than the ten tails!" Naruto warned after sensing the unreal amount of chakra coming from Black Zetsu.
"He's trying to gather enough chakra to revive Kaguya." Sasuke surmised from the information he had heard from the Sage of The Six Paths, the son of Kaguya herself. "Forget about Madara for now, after the Ten-Tails extraction, he'll be too weak to fight for a while without help. We have to stop Black Zetsu before Kaguya's revival is complete. Take point Naruto, I'll back you up." Indra's reincarnation commanded while using his six paths powers to make a lighting sword.
"All right! Let's hit him while he's still bloated," Naruto responded while shaping his truth-seeking orb into staff.
With a speed that surpassed the Yellow Flash, a man who was considered by all to be the fastest shinobi alive, Naruto dashed toward the inflated Black Zetsu head-on for his attack. Meanwhile, Sasuke concentrated chakra into his Rinne Sharingan and teleported behind Black Zetsu ready to hack him apart. However, none of these attacks found purchase, as a wave of long, silky, white hair burst forth from Black Zetsu and ensnared both Naruto and Sasuke. Immediately, both sensed the draining of chakra from the people in the Infinite Tyukiyomi stop, and their gifted divine chakra become absorbed as the seconds went by.
"Sasuke," Naruto cried out while struggling against the white-haired restraints. "I can't move! If we don't stop this, the seals will be drained completely!
Sasuke only reponse to Naruto was a grunt. The Uchiha was also trying to escape his captivity. He had tried teleporting the second that he was ensnared but the chakra drain was stopping him from using his Rinnegan abilities.
"IT'S OVER," Black Zetsu roared with triumph. "Mother revival is at hand!"
The drain on their chakra had gotten so bad, that Naruto was forced out of his six-paths transformation and Sasuke's Rinne Sharingan shifted back into a regular Rinnegan and then into Sharingan.
'It is as I thought,' An elderly voice echoed in the minds of both Naruto and Sasuke. 'You are not ready to face Mother yet.'
And in a familiar swirl of distorted space, the inheritors of Indra's and Asura's chakra disappeared from the world of Elem and appeared inside the not-so-familiar realm of Kamui. Both were in their preferred defensive stance immediately and ready to fight until they saw Sakura, Kakashi, the sage of the six paths himself, and Obito, who was passed out on the floor next to the sage.
"Obito!" Kakashi exclaimed at seeing his friend laid out unconscious on the floor but didn't move to him as he was next to a man Kakashi had never seen before. Sakura looked like she wanted to help her teacher's friend as well but stayed her hands for the same reason as Kakashi.
Naruto was confused, one moment they were trying to escape Black Zetsu, and the next their in a weird place with all of his comrades and The Sage. "What's going on why is everyone here?"
"You are in the Kamui time-space," Hagaromo answered stoically. "After Obito was flung from the Black Zetsu's body, I spoke to him much in the same way I spoke to you and Sasuke, Naruto. I asked him to bring you here when I sensed my mother reach nearly reach a full 1/3 of her full power."
Sakura was visibly shocked and terrified at what Hagaromo had said. The amount of chakra she had seen, let alone sensed, coming from black Zetsu was godly to her. Hearing that power wasn't even one-third of Kaguya's full power was bone-chilling. She didn't think she could survive against a being of that level. Regardless of her team being together.
The others in the Kamui time-space had similar reactions. The ten tails' alone was enough to make everyone think they were looking at a real God and what they just sensed from black Zetsu eclipsed even that.
Hagaromo sighed, he knew what he was going to say next would hurt the shinobi's fighting spirit but it had to be said. "Furthermore, mother will only continue to grow in power the longer the people of Elem are trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi. Defeating her as you are now is no longer an option"
"But Great Sage," Kakashi addressed Hagaromo having identified him as the man Naruto said had given him and Sasuke the seals and power to stop Kaguya. "Naruto and Sasuke still have the seals given to them to stop her. Even if she is stronger than expected, from what I sensed, Naruto and Sasuke's new power should still be capable of keeping up with her enough to seal her."
"You are correct Kakashi Hatake," the mentioned man's eyes widened slightly at being known by name to the Sage Of Six Paths himself. "Even though my mother is more powerful than all of us combined, it's likely that Naruto and Sasuke, with support from each of you and the tailed beast chakra Naruto received, could keep up with and even seal mother."
"But sealing's no longer an option is it," Sasuke stated more than asked with a bitter look as he lifted his hand with the moon seal in his palm and Naruto did the same.
Knowing the state of the seals already, Hagaromo nodded to confirm Sauke's suspicion. The moon seal on Sasuke's hand was dim, so dim that anyone without a doujutsu would have a difficult time seeing the outline of the seal without squinting their eyes. The six-path seal, which was once proof of Sasuke's ascension to divinity looked less like the divine seal it was supposed to be and more like a cheap tattoo that got worn out.
"How did this happen?" Sakura asked with a bit of panic in her voice. "You guys didn't use enough chakra to drain the seal this much. Did you?"
"No," Naruto said in an uncharacteristically serious and analytical voice. "When we were caught by Black Zetsu, he stopped trying to absorb the shinobi alliance's chakra and focused solely on our seals instead. We tried to escape but the chakra drain was too much to form even basic Jutsu," Naruto's face turned in a way that looked sad and anguished. Even with his never give up attitude the situation seemed completely hopeless.
"Without even half the power of the seals to draw on, you can no longer stand on even grounds with my mother, much less seal her." Hagaromo's words only made the somber mood of the last awake Elems worse.
"Can't you just give us more of your chakra super gramps?" Naruto asked with clear desperation in his voice. "If we have enough to power the seals, all we would need to do is touch her."
Hagaromo denied naruto's request with a head shake. "I cannot... Not only would there still be a high chance of failure but If I did give you the rest of my chakra, I would not have enough for Plan B."
Everyone froze at what Hagaromo had said. The words Plan B echoed in their minds as they looked at the stoic face of the floating sage of six paths. "Hmm, is something the matter?" The original sage asked while staring curiously at the many exasperated faces of Team 7.
"You..." Sasuke said with barely contained fury. The emotion in his voice surprised everyone present since Sasuke was the most stoic person here. "You shitty geezer!" Sasuke shouted while lunging at the sage with murder in his Mangekyo Rinnegan eyes. Naruto caught him in a tackle mid-jump and tried his best to hold onto his trashing friend.
"What the hell old man! You couldn't have started with that! This entire time I thought we failed," Sakura practically screeched.
"Calm down Sasuke, Sakura, we still haven't heard the plan B," Naruto said to try and placate his friends.
It only worked a little. Sasuke calmed down enough to stop attempting to assault the divine sage but his sword hand twitched every so often. And Sakura was griping her fist so hard small sonic boom rang out every time she unclamped and tightened her fist. Thankfully, she seemed content to do only that while waiting for an explanation. Kakashi slumped like a noodle at the whole situation and went to check on Obito -who was still unconscious- now that it looked like the team wasn't going to attack The God of Shinobi.
"I apologize for the misunderstanding, I just wanted to let the weight of the situation settle in so when you go on to train it will motivate you to reach a new level of power. Without your divine energy."
"Train?" Naruto asked with a hint of confusion and disbelief. He wasn't the smartest person on his team but even he knew that training fast enough in such a short amount of time to reach just Kaguya's ankles in power was practically impossible. "There's nowhere to train Super Sage Gramps. We'll starve to death in here before we make any progress toward Kaguya's level, and if we appear outside Black Zetsu or Kaguya if she's fully revived is definitely going to find us."
"That's why I'm sending you beyond Mother's reach," Hagamoro said, and then, the Kamui dimension shook. A powerful and vast chakra washed over the current inhabitant of the realm, and everyone knew who it belonged to. After all, there was currently only one being in all of Elem whose chakra could reach such ridiculous levels of power. Kaguya.
"Tch, I had hoped the reanimated Kage would buy me more time to gather enough chakra to send all of you through the barrier separating this world from the rest of the 11'th universe, but it seems I only have enough to send two people through. Naruto and Sasuke you must go," In a blur of hand signs and a clap of his hands, Hagaromo molded his vast divine chakra and performed a powerful spacetime Ninjutsu. In front of the last Elems was a purple-ringed portal with golden clouds and a purple sky on the other side. "This portal will take you to a friend of mine called King Kai. I've already informed him of the situation and he will help you train and master your power as well as introduce you to a powerful group of warriors known as the Z Fighters that I'm sure can help you defeat my mother. Now, hurry through the Jutsu, the shaking of this realm is my mother attempting to break into the Kamui dimension, you don't have much time before she succeeds."
"Old man, I can't leave my Gahhh," Naruto tried to argue with Hagaromo but a powerful electric attack courtesy of Sasuke rendered Naruto unconscious.
Sakura and Kakashi looked surprised at Sasuke's actions but both understood why Sasuke attacked Naruto. The blonde was too stubborn for his own good and most likely would not leave them behind without a fight and if they fought at the stage of the mission, Elem was doomed.
When Naruto was going to hit the floor, Sasuke grabbed him by the scruff of his jacket and flung him through the portal. Sasuke himself was going to go through the portal but stopped right in front of it to ask Hagaromo a question. "Geezer, how long do we have to train and how do we get back to Elem when we're done?"
Hagamoro looked directly into the eyes of his son reincarnation and answered, "Two years, no more and no less. To gain passage back to Elem, you must master your Rinnegan. That is the only way. Also, tell Naruto not to worry about his team. As the Sage of Six Paths, I have quite a few Jutsu and techniques that will keep them safe."
Sasuke nodded at the sage and scanned the faces of his former team- and that bastard Obito- who was behind him. Kakashi was doing his little eye smile thing while waving goodbye and Sakura had on an admittable beautiful smile while doing the same. Even without his Sharingan on, Sasuke knew he would remember her smile for the years to come. And wasn't that a funny thought? Sasuke guessed that you really didn't know what you were missing out on until you lose it.
The Kamui dimension shook once more so Sasuke stepped into the portal and disappeared from the face of Elem.
A/N Revised: Just a heads up in case nobody can guess what I'm trying to do. I'm miss mashing DBZ and DBS power levels and lore with Naruto's so that Goku can't fly in a solo Kaguya the second Naruto and Sasuke go to king kai. To make Kaguya a valid threat in DB universe I'm making her a divine being. So divine chakra is equal to divine ki. I know it seems like I'm nerfing DBZ Characters but I'm not, I'm buffing Naruto ones. I want Kaguya to be a sort of final boss, so she's going to be a lot stronger than even some of the more op dudes like jiren and broly. That doesn't mean beating them is going to cake walk for her. Just that they can't defeat her on their own.
On that note, I'm nerfing naruto and Sasuke by taking away their six paths powers for Z. Since, god forms only appeard in super and I'm making divine chakra=divine ki, i wanted naruto's and sasuke's god form to be their six paths form to match DBS lore. Furthermore, with the way I'm going to be buffing Naruto characters to match DBZ, some of their haxs needed to go. Six Paths haxs are too op for DBZ. Just yin-yang release would make it impossible for most energy techniques to work on Naruto and Sasuke. Combine that with other haxs like truth seeking orbs which obliterate matter, energy, and souls and it obvious why I wouldn't let them keep their six paths powers so early in the game. They would have a lot of option to kill or even seal Buu before he ever got to his super buu form and that doesn't make for a good story.
So im nurfing Naruto and Sasuke until super so the story will actually have risk. Hope this clears up any misunderstandings. If you have better idea on how to mix lore and power levels plz review and thanks for reading.
