Right, so I've just decided to go ahead and make the Dragonborn of Alagaësia. I don't know why I deleted the story in the first place, I mean I had it completed the first time. Don't know what was going through my head when it happened. I want to thank House of the Dragon for me wanting to do Elder Scrolls stories again. Speaking of that, House of the Dragon is doing great. It's making everyone forget the abomination that was Game of Thrones season 8, which was the worst season in my opinion.
Anyway, back to this. I'm going to make this a good story to read. And if you are wondering what the pairing is, it's still going to be Dragonborn x Saphira. I WAS going to make this Dragonborn/Arya, but I think the dragon part of the Dragonborn would desire a dragoness as a mate rather than something else.
Now, I'm changing the Dragonborn's name from Rahgol to something else, something that I think sounds more... meaningful. As for his armour and shit, I'm going with the Daedric armour since... why the hell not?! Daedric armour looks so badass and cool! As for weapons, I'm going to give him two swords, a Daedric dagger, a quiver of Daedric arrows and a Daedric bow.
As for his swords, they are going to be designed after Dark Sister and Blackfyre.
Disclaimer: I do not own The Inheritance Cycle or The Elder Scrolls/Skyrim series. They belong to their rightful owners.
"DOVAHKIIN!"
A pair of eyes snapped open, revealing dark blue that stared up at the ceiling of hos house as the ground shook under the force of the powerful voice. While some would probably be shaking, and most of Skyrim would be waking up from that voice being heard all over, this man was not shaken or even bothered. This has happened to him before, he knew what it was.
He had been summoned.
Daemon sighed as he sat up in his bed, the covers falling down to reveal his bare chest/ He pushed them off as he swung his legs out and stood, dressed in nothing but a white loincloth. He walked over to his wardrove and opened it, taking out a set of black, sinister looking armour. The armor itself has an overall unique model with a black-metallic color scheme (due to being made from ebony), and is decorated with small silver chains, intricate and ornamental designs on the boots, lower torso and gauntlets, two sets of shoulder guards underneath the initial armored spikes mounted on the shoulders, and even several large fasteners located all over the body that link each piece of the armor together.
The set also features several other spikes protruding from various parts of the body as well as six large horn-like spikes on the very top of the helmet to accompany the large eye-like sockets in the front, giving the figure a monstrous appearance.
The Daedric armour.
"My Thane!" He heard a familiar voice as he was in the midst of strapping his two sheathed swords to his hips. He paused in his work and looked up as his Housecarl and one of his most trusted friends, Lydia, came into his bedroom. "I assume you've-"
"Heard the Greybeards calling? Aye, I did." Daemon said as he finished ensuring his swords were strapped to his sides in their sheaths. "I must make haste to High Hrothgar. I only told them and Paarthrunax to summon me if it's something very urgent and serious. And considering that I have been summoned, I would take it this matter really is a serious one if they are summoning me."
Lydia nodded. "Want me to come?"
Daemon paused before shaking his head. "Not this time. This might be something I must do alone."
Lydia sighed but nodded. Her Housecarl enjoyed sticking to his whole 'lone wolf' thing, even though he wasn't a werewolf like his fellow Companions. But he'd always preferred to be a loner ever since she met him, though he lightened up quite a bit since then due to his interaction with the Companions and becoming Harbinger. But some things stay the same and don't change.
"It'll take you a few days to get to Ivarstead and then you'll climb the steps again." Lydia said.
Daemon nodded. "Thankfully, I have Shadowmere. And he's faster than any horse in Skyrim."
Lydia snorted. "Because those horses aren't some supernatural demon horse from another plane of existence."
Daemon just shrugged with a smirk. "Meh, semantics."
"Drem Yol Lok, Dovahkiin." Paarthurnax greeted Daemon as he approached the Throat of the World.
"Paarthurnax," Daemon greeted the old dragon and nodded toward the red dragon next to him, "Hello, Odahviing."
"Drem Yol Lok, Dovahkiin," Odahviing replied, inclining his head briefly.
Daemon took a brief onceover of the Throat of the World. The place where he brought an Elder Scroll and looked backwards in time to learn Dragonrend in order to defeat Alduin the World-Eater. The place where he and Alduin had their first battle. It felt only yesterday that happened when in reality... that was five years ago.
Daemon turned his attention to Paarthurnax. "I take it this is a serious and urgent matter if you've had the Greybeards summon me here. They said you wished to speak with me."
"Nii los, dii fahdon. (It is, my friend.)" Paarthurnax replied, turning his gaze in a direction. "Do you know of the land of Alagaësia?"
Daemon blinked in surprise at the question. "Tamriel's sister land? I've read about it. Though it's a land far across the sea to the North. There's been no contact between this land and there for... thousands of years."
Paarthrunax hummed, confirming that. "Indeed. But you also know there was once dragons that roamed that land, yes?"
Daemon nodded. "Aye. I've read whatever Skyrim has of Alagaësia's history at the College of Winterhold. I know the land held different creatures than what roams in Skyrim, and that the Elves there are much different than the ones here... and that there was an order of peacekeepers known as the Dragon Riders. But, what's this got to do with Alagaësia?"
"Prem. (Patience.)" Paarthurnax said. "I have felt a large shift in the lein, (World), in the world. It originates from Alagaësia. A powerful force is returning. One that... troubles me greatly for I have felt this force before."
"What do you mean?" Daemon asked with a frown.
Paarthrunax looked at him. "Miraak is returning."
Daemon's eyes widened upon hearing the mention of the First Dragonborn and arguably one of the most powerful beings Daemon has faced. He had been on death's doorstep when he faced the first Dragonborn, and had never been in such a state since battling Alduin the World-Eater. But... Miraak was dead, destroyed. Daemon killed him four years ago.
"Miraak's dead. I killed him myself." Daemon said.
"Miraak has always been powerful and dabbled in dark magic." Odahviing said, getting Daemon's attention on him. "All the Dov had a right to fear and hate him, for it was believed that Miraak... vust meyvit dinok. (could cheat death.)"
Daemon was stunned at these words. He knew Miraak was incredibly powerful, he felt that first-hand when they battled at the Summit of Apocrypha. He had brought Miraak to near-death a couple of times, but he'd repelnish his strength by devouring the souls of the dragons he had with him. But Daemon killed them so Miraak couldn't do so again and managed to kill the first Dragonborn. So how is Miraak returning?
"That is not all." Paarthrunax said, getting Daemon's attention. "I also sense laas, life." Paarthurnax closed his eyes and breathed deeply. It sounded like the rumbling of a volcano. "Yun laas. New life." His eyes snapped open, "Dovah."
Daemon's eyes widened a little. "A dragon has been born in Alagaësia? I though all dragons there were killed in the Fall of the Riders at the hands of the King, Galbatorix and his own dragon."
"Vrah. (Indeed). But some must have survived." Paarthurnax said. He looked very troubled. "Dovah los kiin, ahrk til los siin do daal. Zu'u faas fah himdah do Alagaësia. Ahrk yun Dovah Zoriik. (A dragon is born, and there are signs of Miraak returning. I fear for the land of Alagaësia. And the new Dragon Rider.)"
"And what am I to do?" Daemon asked.
Odahviing spoke up. "The mortal King, Galbatorix, would twist and corrupt the new Dovah and it's Rider to serve him. We cannot allow that to happen."
Paarthurnax rumbled in agreement, "Daemon, you must go to Alagaësia. Find the source of Miraak's return and destroy him for good. And also look for the newborn dragon and it's Rider. I sense that they will be of great importance."
Daemon nodded firmly. "I will go."
And that's it for this chapter. Okay, so I changed a bit from the original. In the original version of this, the Dragonborn was banished by the Thalmor after being framed. However, I wanted to switch it up. So I had it that Miraak is returning and is doing so in Alagaësia. Other than that, Paarthurnax has also sensed the hatching of Saphira.
Daemon has to go to Alagaësia, find and destroy Miraak for good as well as find the new dragon and it's Rider. We obviously know who that is.
Hope it's a good plot and a good change from the original.
