An empty void surrounded the bodiless Soul. The void is neither warm nor cold and it seems to stretch infinitely all around the Soul as it wandered around.

The Soul is completely alone in this place as it somehow moved around the emptiness, floating around without aim.

It does know what this place is, its best guess is that It somehow got stuck in Limbo. The Soul cannot remember much of its previous life besides some quick flashes of random images and the feelings that accompanied them but even those were almost immediately forgotten afterward, easily slipping away from Its grasp.

This Soul has been in this place for a long time without having any means to keep track of time besides counting the seconds, It simply wandered around the void.

Until 'He' appeared.

A man without any features besides lips and perfect white teeth, his skin is completely black, it was almost as if his skin itself is made of ink or some other type of thick substance.

The 'ink' dripped into the void, disappearing amidst the never-ending white abyss.

He kept on moving towards the lonely Soul, despite his haunting appearance the Soul felt no fear towards the inky man, the Soul felt at peace as it regarded the slowly approaching male.

The man started to speak, his voice a calming pitch of bass. "Oh dearie, how long have you been alone in this dreadful place?" He spoke with a hint of paternal concern, voice sweet.

Too sweet.

The Soul did not respond for it could not communicate in its current bodiless form, yet the man covered in ink could understand its feelings perfectly as if he could read Its mind.

The male frowned as he sighed while circling the Soul, he started to speak again. "That won't do, no no no, absolutely unacceptable! They've put you here all by your lonesome self without even explaining why!" He sounded comically aghast as he waved his arms around until he calmed down and crossed his arms while tapping his bare foot on nothing as he pondered something.

He leaned forward until his head was on the same level as the Soul, a single eye opened vertically on the middle of his forehead, ink spurting from its sides as the honey-colored eye blinked twice, slowly focusing.

The man scratched his chin and pursed his lips as his eyes scanned the Soul, his eye moving wildly as he read the Soul much like an open book.

He spoke again, his voice almost echoing around the endless void. "Ah, I see! You were an entirely unremarkable young man. Average in almost everything you've tried. You lived a normal and boring life while trying your best to live day after day. There were times in which you wanted to improve yourself but due to lack of funds you've never managed to go too far and yet you've done everything you could have possibly done considering your position."

He hummed and continued to speak softly, almost mumbling. "Neither bad nor good, just a person doing his best to fit around his peers, until you ultimately died due to an aneurysm while you were going grocery shopping after your Mom asked you to do so. And because of the actions you've taken in life, they decided to just throw you around here." He spoke with a neutral tone, straightening up as his eye closed again.

The Soul seemed to deflate as it wriggled around until it was startled by the sound of a single loud clap, the man grinned widely as he 'looked' down at the Soul.

"Well, that doesn't seem to be fair to me, don't you think so? How about I make you an offer? A deal, if you will." He grinned.

It did not speak but its interest was clear to the Inky Man. He started to speak again. "It's quite simple. I'll send you to another World much like what happens in one of those Chinese mangos things you liked to read in your spare time when you were still alive. Free of charge!" He grinned unnaturally as his mouth stretched until it reached the place where his ears should have been if they existed.

"The only thing I ask of you is to live a good and fulfilling life!" The man extended his left arm towards the Soul to be offered a handshake to seal the deal. His long fingers wriggled as ink dripped from them.

The Soul did not hesitate as it moved its incorporeal body towards the outstretched hand, the man's sharp grin stretched even further as the Soul touched his cold hand.

"Good choice." His voice echoed around the empty abyss as the Soul accepted the contract.

Colors burst all around them, the colors danced wildly as they took a plethora of shapes and forms with many of them looking like strange letters until they stopped their unusual dance and started to glow brighter and brighter, the light is so bright that it blinded the Soul despite it having no eyes.

The Soul whited out as It lost Its consciousness.

His eyes opened widely as he took a deep shuddering breath, the feeling of nausea almost made him puke on the spot as his body lurched forward.

He yelped loudly as his forehead hit the glass in front of him. His ears are also ringing annoyingly, which made his headache hurt even more.

'Wait, glass...?' He rubbed his hands on his stinging forehead as he looked up, his vision is still blurry as if he was crying before he opened his eyes but he could recognize the red-tinted glass right in front of him, he reached his hand forward to touch the smooth glass.

A hand that looked suspiciously small. 'This looks way too small to belong to an adult.' He blinked twice as his eyes started to slowly focus. Once they finally focused he looked around and noticed he's in a small circular 'room', said room has several strange buttons and mechanisms surrounding it. "What a strange nostalgic feeling..." He muttered to himself and got startled with how light and high-pitched his voice sounded like.

The displaced young boy looked down at his small hands as his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. 'That Inky Man did say he was going to send me to another world, but I wasn't expecting to take over the body of a child.' He frowned while pursing his lips.

His eyes widened. '...If this body is now mine, then what happened to the kid's Soul!?' He thought in panic as he started to breathe faster. Did the Inky Man kill a child to put him in this body? Was the child going to die so he put him there like he was recycling a corpse? Several questions started to rise as he took deep shuddering breaths. Is he-

The feeling of the ground shaking and the sound of a loud explosion followed by shouting coming from outside the place he's locked in made him lose his train of thought, he looked outside the red glass and saw something that made him lose his breath.

A tall man with incredibly long and spiky hair kicking another man with hair resembling a palm tree in on his lower back. Two men that he's intimately familiar with. How could he not? After all, he grew up watching one of those men fight against several powerful opponents.

Son Goku is the name of that man. This means the place he's stuck in is an Attack Pod.

Which means he's in the body of Son Gohan.

His arms fell to his sides and his body felt numb while he watched Goku fall into the ground due to that kick, falling not too far from the Namekian know as Piccolo. 'Gohan' hissed at the sight of Piccolo's bleeding stump. Piccolo gripped the stump that used to be his arm as he glared at Raditz hatefully with venom behind his eyes.

'Gohan' watched everything with transfixed eyes, utterly unbelieving and absolutely in awe at the sight in front of him.

Son Goku briefly glanced at the Pod containing Gohan. Their eyes momentarily met. Goku's fists clenched as he steeled his eyes to look back at his older brother.

The boy couldn't hear anything from the Pod but he knew Goku and Piccolo started to whisper amongst themselves while Raditz mockingly laughed at them.

Goku and Piccolo nodded at each other with a new plan formed from those whispers. Goku suddenly rushed towards Raditz at high speeds while Piccolo put his index and middle fingers on top of his forehead, starting to focus and charge his Ki at that point.

Gohan felt a strange tingle on his spine as Piccolo started to gather his Ki. Has he somehow felt the sudden increase of Ki subconsciously? Regardless, he stopped focusing on that strange feeling to instead focus on his... Dad and Uncle fight against each other.

He wanted to look away as he saw his Uncle beat his Dad mercilessly but he couldn't tear his eyes at the sight in front of him, much like a car crash he just could not take his eyes away from it. Both fighters are incredibly fast but he could still catch some glimpses of the fight clearly if he started to focus hard on it, the more he focused the more clear the fight got.

Goku was sent into the sky due to a blow caused by Raditz, a kick on his chin had sent him flying right up. Goku looked down at his older brother and cupped his hands at his side.

Gohan's face was practically fused with the glass due to how hard he was pressing on it. He felt excitement as he looked at Goku make a Kamehameha. It was the most gorgeous thing he has ever seen.

Piccolo's Ki reached a new oppressive level as Goku launched his Kamehameha, it chased Raditz around as the taller man tried to dodge the blue beam.

Raditz decided to turn around and block the beam with his bare hands once he realized he couldn't fly away from it. Despite the power of the attack it didn't even manage to burn his hand but his fingers trembled due to the impact. He retaliated the attack by sending a purple Ki attack that hit and shocked Goku, making him fall to the ground and hit his back hard on it.

His Uncle rushed towards the fallen Goku and was about to cave his skull in with his fist but for some reason he hesitated as he looked down, his fist still raised while he clenched it tight. Raditz suddenly looked back at Piccolo with panic, beads of sweat dripped from his forehead as he shouted something at Piccolo.

Piccolo yelled as he launched his attack, all of his Ki shot from his outstretched index and middle fingers towards Raditz at incredible speeds, yellow and purple Ki twisting and twirling against each other as it went towards its target.

Unfortunately, the Beam was not fast enough and Raditz managed to twist his body around just enough for it to just hit his right shoulder, it pierced and broke the armor that protected his shoulder as well as taking a small chunk of his shoulder. Raditz hissed as he gripped his bleeding shoulder.

'Gohan' frowned, now that he was paying attention he noticed that Raditz looked very different, for starters, his armor was completely different from what it was supposed to be. Instead of the classic Saiyan armor, Raditz is wearing something very similar to what Bardock wore at the opening scenes of the Dragon Ball Super: Broly, this included the more blocky armor and a sleeveless gray spandex suit that stopped at the halfway point of his neck. He also has a pair of black wrist bands and a single red arm and leg band just like what he usually wore in the Anime and manga.

Raditz angrily prepared another attack as he gathered his Ki on the palm of his hand. He raised his arm and was about to launch it against Piccolo.

Or at least that was Raditz's plan, if only his younger brother didn't grab his tail with an iron grip, that is.

Gohan managed to snap out of his childlike awe once he realized something very important.

He knew exactly how this would play out, but without him both Goku and Piccolo would die unless he managed to break free from the Pod and attack his Uncle.

The boy started to sweat coldly. 'How do I even escape from here? I don't even know how to use my Ki. Do I...? Didn't I somehow manage to feel Piccolo's Ki? I just need to relax and focus! Right...?' He pursed his lips as he tried to recall the power he felt before.

He closed his eyes as he racked his head over it. 'What did Gohan say to Videl when he was teaching her how to tap into her Ki?' He tried to remember the words but it has been several years since he has even watched Dragon Ball Z, much less the Buu Saga. 'Relax, don't panic. Ok, you're panicking, you're panicking and that's your heart thumping against your chest. Am I having a heart attack? God, I hope not. Dying again so quickly after being sent to another World would surely be a record. You're now using humor to deflect the fact that if you fail everyone will die. And now I'm panicking again, great.' He hit his head on the glass as his nails started to dig into the palms of his hands.

Then it happened again, he felt that huge surge of Ki being gathered on the tip of Piccolo's fingers. He stared at those fingers as a hawk stared at his prey. His own body subconsciously relaxed and his breathing slowed down as he felt the Ki being focused on those two fingers. It is a strangely hypnotizing feeling. 'His Ki... It's coming right from the center of his body! No, it would be more accurate to say it is coming from his inner self and traveled from his arm to the tip of his fingers!' He realized, startled at how he was watching Piccolo do one of his most deadly Techniques.

Was it something Instinctual that made him be able to feel Piccolo's Ki flow? Could he replicate what Piccolo was doing to his own body?

'Gohan' eyes narrowed as he focused on that feeling, but instead of focusing on Piccolo's Ki flow, he focused on his own as he looked down at his chest, staring past what is visible.

'There it is!' His eyes shot up and he grinned widely when he felt the Ki deep within himself. He imagined himself pulling that Ki from where it came from, his body strained as he willingly and consciously tapped into that power for the first time.

He looked back up just in time to see Raditz strike Goku's chin with his elbow, sending his new father flying a few feet back and landing forcefully on his back yet again as he slid on the dirt, some blood dripped from the corner of his lips as he coughed.

Gohan gathered more Ki to strengthen his body, slowly but surely he started to build his Ki up.

Raditz jumped up in the air and landed right on his younger sibling's stomach, stomping on Goku's stomach with the heel of his boot. He twisted the boot left and right almost as if he had just killed a particularly annoying cockroach.

'Almost there!' Gohan thought as he grit his teeth against each other while his body started to tremble due to the unfamiliar amount of power held within it.

Sweat fell into the Pod as he clenched his fists, nails digging into the palms of his hands. Raditz continued to stomp on Goku's body.

"NOW!" Gohan yelled as his underdeveloped muscles bulged out and he flexed his legs as he jumped from inside of the Pod.

The boy shielded his head with his arms as he flew right through the Pod, scattering and sending several pieces of it flying around the place.

He landed and took a deep breath, focusing his Ki again as he glared at Raditz. "DON'T YOU DARE HURT HIM!" He yelled with righteous fury. Unfortunately, his high-pitched voice destroyed any semblance of intimidation.

Raditz seemed to be in shock as he mumbled something in disbelief to himself. His scouter beeping a warning.

Goku looked at Gohan with fearful eyes. "No! RUN AWAY!" He screamed with paternal terror.

Gohan pursed his lips 'Goku, I'm sorry but I need to do this, I hope you understand that.' He thought as he jumped again, focusing all of his Ki on his legs and arms as he shot through the air like a torpedo. The boy crossed his arms above his head as he hit Raditz in his armored stomach, breaking several pieces of the armor and sending Raditz stumbling through the air several meters back.

Gohan fell into the dirt as his body felt numb, still being completely unused to such high amounts of Ki. He laughed a bit as he turned his head towards Goku. "Haah, I c-can't move..." He grinned weakly at him.

Goku looked at him with fear. "G-Gohan! Getaway, quickly!" He yelled with horror behind his voice.

'...Huh? Why is he so scared...?' Gohan's eyes started to flutter due to his exhaustion as his body felt numb. He also could no longer move his body at all.

Something pressed against his head and forced it down into the dirty ground. "Damn brat!" Raditz looked livid as he stomped on Gohan's head, forcing the little boy to gasp in pain as tears gathered on the corners of his eyes. Raditz wiped the blood from the corner of his lips with his hand.

Goku started to shout at his brother. "Raditz, he's just a-" Unfortunately he was rudely interrupted by Raditz.

"He's just a kid, that's what you were going to say? If only you knew how many times I have heard that line before." Raditz parroted him mockingly and scoffed. "This little shit has a power level higher than yours!" He furiously yelled as he started to gather Ki on his outstretched palm. "Too bad he ain't ever gonna use it again! No need to cry now Kakarotto, soon enough you two will meet in HE-!" He too was interrupted, but not verbally.

Raditz faltered as he took a step back, his eyes wide with shock.

Goku had taken his chance and grabbed Raditz from the back while he was occupied preparing that Ki blast to finish off Gohan. Goku locked Raditz's arms in a Full-Nelson as he grits his teeth, Raditz Ki blast shot into the air. "W-what?! So you still have some power after all that?!" Raditz questioned his brother angrily.

Goku ignored him as he started to shout at Piccolo. "Piccolo! Do that thing again!" He yelled as he strained to hold Raditz in place.

Piccolo snarled as he glared at both men. "I NEED MORE TIME, DO YOU THINK THAT MOVE IS A SIMPLE THING TO DO?" The green man continued to speak in a more composed tone. "Why the hell didn't you grab his tail again?" He questioned his nemesis angrily.

Goku tightened his hold on Raditz, breathing deeply as the taller man tried to break free from his strong grip. "H-he could've just cut his... haah... tail off!" He spoke as he coughed up more blood, trying to focus through his blurry half-closed eyes.

Raditz clenched his fists angrily as he tried to wriggle out of Goku's embrace. "So you knew...?!" He snarled out through gritted teeth.

Gohan tried to stay conscious but he passed out from exhaustion, shedding a tear. 'I'm sorry that you had to die anyway.' He thought to himself as he drifted off into the darkness.

Everything faded to black.

Well then, that's that for the first chapter. The first couple of chapters are most often than not a bit stiff due to them having to set a certain pace in the story so hopefully, I didn't do a terrible job. Maybe.
