Hello there all! So as soon as I saw Encanto, I was in love. I really felt like this film gave us a true representation of restoring family bonds and becoming who you truly are. However, the only gripe I had about the story was how they handled Bruno's story. I'm not going to go into too much detail why as it would take at least a one stand-alone chapter to explain my reasoning. But regardless, I want this story to be a way to kind of delve into the subject a bit further and reach a (hopefully) more satisfying conclusion to our quirky future-seer's story. It will focus on his relationship with his mother, sisters and their kids, as well as with relationships he never expected to have with anyone other than his rat buddies.

Now, I want you guys to understand that I'm not Latinx in any way, nor do I speak Spanish. Thus, I've taken time to research Colombia as well as having certain words and phrases translated to Spanish as well so that this story can feel like it is a genuine sequel. I've also studied other countries for reasons that will become apparent later. If there are any Latinx people reading this story who wish to give me tips or facts that I might need to be aware of, hit me up either in the comments or in my messages. But I ask that you all please be kind. I know that I am not fully aware of the culture, but I'm doing my best to learn so that I can write this story because I really wanted to share this story with everyone and give Bruno the justice he deserves.

I'm also including songs, but I'm in no way a song writer so please don't judge too harshly as I tried my best to write songs that the legendary Lin Manuel Miranda could actually work with. In this chapter the song is called La Fiesta de la Abuela. Translation tells me it means Grandma's Party, which I thought would be a funny thing to sing about.

So I hope you all enjoy!
Disclaimer: I don't own either Encanto or Disney, this story is just an imagined sequel by a loving Encanto fan.

It was a bright, sunny day in the Encanto. It had been a couple of months since the casita of the Madrigal family was destroyed and rebuilt, and now the Encanto was preparing for Abuela Alma's 76th birthday. The people were going about their business with a hustle and bustle, setting things up around the town including colorful decorations and candles, cooking lots of food and herding the donkeys with stuff strapped to their backs or pulling carts. At the same time, at the Madrigal household, the magical family were also in a hustle, with casita helping them at every turn. Isabella and Luisa were on the ground floor, and with wave of Isabella's hand a multitude of various colored native plants and flowers sprung to life along the upper floor railings and lower floor pillars, as well as several cacti with budding flowers in nearby pots. Luisa held up a somewhat heavy looking pot to her, to which she smiled and flicked her wrist at it, making many different colored San Joaquins bloom, which made Luisa happy and the two high fived one another. Antonio, who was on the upper floor, was sitting on Parce while helping two men with decorations, having his bird friends lift up bolts of fabric in the air as the men tied them to the posts, causing a canopy effect, making Antonio and the men pleased with the result. In Casita's kitchen, several men and women were helping Julieta, Agustín, Dolores and Camilo with food preparations. Camilo, while no one was looking, quickly shapeshifted into one of the men and put a plate down next to Julieta on her left side, who gave him a nod, before looking to her right and seeing the same man tending to his own work, which made her grab at Camilo's ear, causing him to quickly shapeshift back to himself as he winced from the ear pull. Julieta smirked at this before shoving a Pan de Bono into his mouth, which made him smile as he chewed. Everything was well in the Encanto.

Suddenly Juancho, Alejandra, and Cecilia rush in with their arms full of different types of fabric and craft tools, with some bits falling to the floor as they rushed through, to which Casita shook its floor tiles to move the dropped items over to them. Isabella and Luisa see this and walk over to them as the kids stop to take a breath.

"Hey there, what's all this?" Luisa asked with a raised eyebrow and smirk

"We're…we're helping Mirabel with…a gift for Señora Alma." Alejandra said in between breaths

"Yeah, have you seen her?" Juancho asked as he adjusted himself to stop the pile of craft supplies from dropping.

"She's in her room!" Antonio called down from the second floor.

"Here, I'll help you up there" Isabella replied

Isabella flicked her hand to the ground and a large sunflower suddenly sprouted to life under the kids, causing them to giggle. She made the sunflower grow higher and higher, and once it reached the second floor she made it bend down enough to cause the kids to gently slide off it before shooting back to the ground and disappearing. Antonio, still on Parce, rounds the corner and comes over to them.

"""Thank you!""" The three kids waved to Isabella

The trio and Antonio then go over to Mirabel's room door. However, unlike before when it was just a plain teal door, it was now carved with images such as two animals, a sunrise, two dumbbells, sound waves, flowers, hour glasses, a medicinal mortar and pestles, a butterfly, and even the magical candle that was once the source of the magic for the house. It also had the name Mirabel carved into the top. The door didn't glow like the others do, whose doors had been restored to their original state before the house's collapse, (with the exception of Julieta and Pepa's doors that now included their husbands), but it had its own special air to it that made the kids giddy as they looked at it. Antonio reached up and opened the door for them, and they all went inside.

Mirabel's room was now much bigger than it was before. It wasn't quite as large as the other magical family members, but it was definitely an improvement to her nursery-turned bedroom from before. It had two floors to it connected by a spiral staircase. The lower level had several furnishings of tables, chairs, hanging plants, cabinets, wall decorations, several crystal butterflies hanging from the ceiling by strings, a large table that was messy with multiple different fabrics and other craft supplies, as well a floor-to-ceiling shelf with the rest of these said craft supplies and tools. On the upper level had other furnishings like Mirabel's bed, a smaller table, several chairs here and there, artwork on the walls, a bookshelf, and a large dresser as well as a large window that had a nice view of the land surrounding the casita.

As the kids looked around her room in awe, Antonio noticed his favorite cousin up on the second floor bent over the small table working on something.

"Mirabel! They brought the stuff you needed!" Antonio called out to her

Hearing this, Mirabel looked up and said with a smile "Perfect! Be right down!"

With that, Mirabel ran over to the spiral staircase and Casita bent the stairs into a slide. Mirabel slid down the staircase with a decent speed. Once down, she made her way over to the kids, looking over the stuff they brought her.

"Great, these will do nicely. Bring them over here."

Mirabel then lead the kids over to the large table with craft supplies and pushed a bunch of it to the side to make room for the new incoming pieces.

"So what are you making?"

"Well, after everything that happened before, I think we all know how important it is for family to stick together, right?" She asked, looking back at the kids who nodded, then said "So as way to celebrate both Abuela and the family, I decided to make quilts for every family in the Encanto. Show them, Casita"

With that request, Casita popped out a dozen rolls of quilts from one of the nearby shelves, having them line up on the floor before shaking the floorboards to make them roll out. The kids, minus Antonio, all gave small wows as they looked at the laid out quits. Each quilt held pictures of the families in the Encanto in the same style as the doors in the Casa Madrigal.

"Look! There's my family!" Alejandra exclaimed happily

"Mine's here!" Juancho pointed excitedly

"So is mine!" Cecilia replied as she held her quilt up for the rest to see

"Yep, I've finished everyone in the village and now all that's left is the one for Abuela. Check it out."

Mirabel went over to a roll of cloth that was hanging from a bar held up by two strings and untied the cord around it, letting it fall to the ground to show what was inside. It was a picture of the Madrigal family tree. The vines and leaves wrapped around the borders while each member had their respective symbol. Abuela, who was at the top of the quilt, gave a serene look as she held her arms out towards her descendants, while the image of her late husband Pedro was also shown with open arms behind Abuela, looking both peaceful and somewhat ethereal, almost like the miracle candle. All that was missing was some edgework and the backing. Seeing this imagery made the kids go 'Woah' in awe.

"So, what do you think?" Mirabel questioned with a smirk

"It's so pretty!" Cecilia said happily

"Thanks. All that's left is the finishing touches before adding the backing. You got it Casita?" Mirabel laughed

Casita used several boards moved to indicate a yes then shook the ground to roll up the other quilts before bouncing them back up into the shelves, then stretched the Madrigal quilt out onto the table with the sewing machine, beginning its work.

"Alright guys, let's get going. " Mirabel eagerly held the door open for the kids to exit

(Alright guys, song time. It's called La Fiesta de la Abuela. Again, I'm not a songwriter so please be kind)

Come on, let's get ready.
There's still so much left to do
It's almost time to celebrate
At La Fiesta de la Abuela!

Mirabel leads the kids out of her room as she sings, dances a bit in glee as she gets them excited as well for the upcoming party. She gets down to the lower level of the house before throwing her arms up in the air as she proclaims the name of the party

Follow me!

Mirabel motions for the kids and Antonio to follow her as she starts heading towards the town that was still busily preparing themselves for the upcoming celebration.

50 years ago, we were given a miracle
And with it this Encanto was born
Our family has had its troubles
Casita fell and our miracle was lost

While making their way to town, Mirabel reflects on the Madrigal history with a somber expression, which makes the kids damper a little as well.

But now we're all together again
Our miracle was reborn.
So let's forget the past and have some fun
At La Fiesta de la Abuela!

She then brightens up as she proclaims how the family have moved on from the past, making the rest cheer up as well. She picks up Antonio from Parce before squeezing him tightly in a hug. She then places him back on the leopard before quickly making her way into the busy town.

I've got the arepa's
They're piping hot
(Oh! They are hot)

A woman cooking arepas placed a tray of them onto a table with other foods. Mirabel picks up one but juggles it back and forth in her hands as she cools it off.

The harvest's in
Someone bring the cart!
(Coming through!)

Two men carrying large baskets of freshly picked corn can't see what's in front of them, to which Mirabel ducks under and through the opening between them.

It's a special night
Should I wear blue?
(I think yellow is more your color)

A younger man holds up a shirt of a power blue color, but Mirabel points to a dusty yellow colored shirt, which he picks up and smiles at

I'm so excited for tomorrow night
I'm ready to show off my moves
(Woah, save them for party, alright?)

A woman comes up to Mirabel and the kids, dancing in front of them with a sort of freestyle version of cumbia as she flared her skirt in a beautiful, but somewhat exaggerated style. This made Mirabel swoop around her as she encouraged her but managed to escape

I want to get her a gift
But I can't seem to choose
(How about this one?)

A young boy wanted to chose a figurine from the many that was sitting on a table, to which Mirabel picked up a small, but delicately shaped butterfly and gave it to him, making him smile in appreciation.

As I'm sure you can see
It's going to be a special day
The town is ready and waiting
To come to La Fiesta de la Abuela!

Mirabel spins around with her arms in the air as indicates the entire towns excitement for the upcoming party.

So get yourself dressed up
And make sure you're not late
We're all pretty excited
For La Fiesta de la Abuela!

As she continues to dance and lead the way for the kids throughout the village, several villagers join them, forming a sort of parade-like entourage. Then Camilo, Dolores, Luisa, Isabella, and even Felix and Augustin join in on the fun.

Let's go get ready
For La Fiesta de la Abuela!

Those who followed her all dance around and end the song on a positive beat.

We then cut to Mirabel, Luisa, Isabella, Camilo, Dolores, and Antonio making their way through the town as they head back to the Madrigal household. Juancho, Alejandra, and Cecilia follow them, with Alejandra running up ahead of them before stopping and looking to them.

"Since he's back, will your Tío Bruno be at the party?"

Before anyone could get a word in, a village man quickly ran over with a finger held up in the air.

"We don't talk about Bruno!" He hastily explained to the girl

"Uh…yes, we do talk about Tío Bruno. Remember?" Mirabel reminded the man with a somewhat annoyed expression as she raised an eyebrow

"Oh, right, sorry. Force of habit." The man said with hands held up in apology before walking off in a hurry

"Do you think he would give me a vision if I asked?" Alejandra continued with eagerness, ignoring the exchange that just happened between the man and Mirabel.

"…I don't think so. Tío Bruno has…I guess you could say he's retired from telling the future. It's a bit of a sore subject for him." Mirabel awkwardly explained to the young girl while trying to avoid hurting her feelings.

"Oh…okay" Alejandra nodded, slightly disappointed but understanding.

"But he will definitely be at the party tonight, I can promise you that." Mirabel gave a smile as she said this, which made Aejandra look happy again

"Hey, Camilo, didn't you promise Papa you would help him his work today?" Antonio asked his older brother with a questioning look

"Oh miércoles! I gotta go!"

With that, Camilo hastily shapeshifted into an Accipitridae and flew off. This made the kids gasp in shock.

"He can change into animals?! I thought he could only do people!" Juancho exclaimed excitedly

"Well that was before we lost the magic. Now that its back, we found that everyone's gifts have gotten stronger. Camilo can now also change into animals." Mirabel explained with a smile

"Yeah, before I was just super strong, but now nothing can hurt me. See?"

Isabella conjured a cactus in her hand, to which Luisa grabbed onto its spikes without flinching or jerking her hand back.

"That didn't hurt?" Cecilia questioned

"Nope, my body is now hard as the rocks I lift."

"As for me, thanks to Mirabel, I already learned how my power has gotten stronger. Now I can grow anything I set my mind to." Isabella replied as she grew a ring of native plants around the kids while hugging onto Mirabel's shoulders in a side hug

"And I can help animals to talk to everyone now."

Antonio patted Parce's head, which shimmered with a yellow glow for a moment.

"Hello there young ones. I am Parce." The leopard greeted the awe struck children

"That's so cool!" Cecilia exclaimed

"Our mom can now heal people without needing food. But that won't stop her from cooking anyways" Mirabel smirked to her elder sisters.

"What about you Dolores?" Alejandra questioned

"Well, nothing too much has changed, except now I can focus more on what I want to hear. But only for a short while. It's…okay" Dolores quietly replied to the kids with soft but somewhat somber smile

Mirabel gave an uncertain look as she heard Dolores say 'okay'. She looked like she wanted to ask Dolores if she was really alright, but the kids were already moving with the conversation.

"What about Señora Pepa and Señor Bruno? Did their power grow too?"

"Well, Tía Pepa has gotten more control over her gift, but she does have her slip ups." Isabella stated

"So each day she practices to get better at it." Luisa said with a nod

"Tío Bruno's gift was the only one that didn't change though… and we're not really sure why." Mirabel finished

At that point, the Madrigals reached the Casita, who greeted them by waving parts of the house. As the kids went back to the village and the other Madrigals went inside, Mirabel stood at the door frame looked around at the what was happening inside before she looked up to the Bruno's tower, lost in thought.

Okay guys, thanks for taking the time to check out my first chapter. If you guys like it, I hope you'll stick around as I continue this story. Again, I'm going to try my very best to remain as culturally appropriate as possible while still giving it that magical charm to it.
