Three hours later the couple were standing at the gate, "Promise me that you'll come back home to me Hailey said "I promise" jay said in a whisper leaning his head against his wife's "Nothing in the world could keep me from coming home to you" he whispered so only she could hear him "I love you so much your the best thing that's ever happened to me" she says in a shaking broken voice, An announcement comes over for the intercom announcing the flight to Bolivia was starting to board, the couple shared one last kiss before Jay went and stood in line to board the plane both had tears in their eyes but also knowing that without a doubt they will be back in each other's arms in eight months.
Back at their apartment, Hailey walks over to their dresser to get one of jays shirts when she sees an envelope with her name on it in Jay's messy handwriting, Hailey opens the envelope and Jay's dog tags fall out along with a small piece of paper the note reads The army gives you two sets I have mine with me keep this one safe love always Jay Hailey slips the tags over her head before grabbing one of the jays old army shirts and crawling into bed laying on his side and crying herself to sleep.
