Reality is a Sliding Door

Author's Note: So… this is my very ambitious attempt at a Degrassi fan fiction story. I have been having thoughts of what if Sean never stayed in Wasaga and it pretty much snowballed and became this story. It's going to take some stuff from the original canon and tweak it. And just a fair warning, this isn't gonna be favorable to Semma shippers. I didn't like how when Sean came back in Season 6, he made everything about Emma. I understand it is romantic but he honestly deserved better than that. I do apologize if some of the changes I make aren't to anyone's liking but this is the story I want to tell.

Especially a ship that I will be putting together. I'm gonna make some people a bit upset and I apologize in advance.

Disclaimer: I don't own Degrassi or any of its characters. I'm just playing with their toys.

All that out of the way, let's have some fun.

Back in Black (Alternate Ending)

{This scene is takes place after the scene at Rick's funeral}

Jay's car pulls up in front of Degrassi Community School. Classes had just let out and most of the staff had gone home. Except for maybe for the one he was looking for.

Sean Cameron stepped out of the car and looked at Jay, Emma and Ellie who remained in the car. "Thanks again for the ride. Really cleared my head." Sean said to Jay as Ellie walked out of the car.

"No problem, man. But are you sure you want to do this?" Jay asked.

Sean nodded. "I'm sure."

"Good luck." Emma replied.

Sean smiled at her as Ellie walked over to him. "Thanks, Em."

"Do you want me to go with you? I know it is gonna be difficult to admit stuff like this." His girlfriend replied.

"I know but this is why I need to do this alone." He replied as she hugged him. "I love you."

"I love you too." Ellie said with a weak smile. She broke her embrace and stared into his eyes. "I'll wait out here for you."

Sean nodded as he looked at Jay. "Do me a favor and make sure Emma gets home? I don't want her family to worry about her."

Jay nodded as he started the car, worried what was going to happen to his friend. Emma looked back at Sean and Ellie as Jay drove off.

Sean glances back at the school and walks up the steps to go inside. He opens the door to the still open school where he sees Ms Sauve heading out of her office. "Ms Sauve?"

The guidance counselor looked up to see the young man standing a few feet away, "Oh, hello Sean. We've been looking for you. A lot of people saw you destroy a reporter's computer."

"Yeah, I-I haven't been in the right headspace." Sean spoke up. "It's not an excuse and I will face the consequences for what I did."

Ms Sauve nodded. "Why did you do it?"

Sean sighed. "I'm not sure. I mean, I had a reason. I was angry… My anger always ruins things."

"Think you're at the second stage of grief: anger." Ms Sauve pointed out. "Sean, you went through something very traumatic. You can't be expected to block those emotions out."

"How long before it's over?" Sean asked calmly as he started to tear up. "I just want it to be over. I don't want to feel like this anymore."

Ms Sauve looked at the emotional young man, a well of sympathy in her expression. "I think we should have this conversation somewhere private," She opened the door to her office and motions for him to step inside.

Sean wiped the tears from his eyes and went inside the office as Ms Sauve walked inside and closed the door behind her.

[End of Episode]

Yes, that was quite short but I just wanted to set this all up. If you're interested in reading it, I will write more.
