Hello, everyone. I'm glad that you decided to check out this story. Thank you for that. This is kind of a spin-off from another story of mine, Intimacy. I've been wanting to write this for awhile since I loved writing about these characters and I wanted to work on something a bit different. I've been looking forward to this and I hope that you enjoy it.
Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia or any of the characters.
Nemuri Kayama was exhausted, to put it lightly.
Aside from her normal job, she also had to act as a substitute, which meant that she had to oversee everyone's hero training.
As she entered the restaurant, she immediately saw Mika waving to her.
"We're over here." Mika said.
Nemuri smiled and walked towards them.
Nemuri had met Mika, Inko and Mitsuki a few years earlier and since then, they've been her closest friends.
Nemuri was there when the four of them along with Mina Ashido convinced Kyoka Jiro to confess her love to Izuku Midoriya.
In the end, it worked out and both Izuku and Kyoka were still in a relationship.
As Mika scooted over, Nemuri sat down and let out a groan of exhaustion.
"Let me guess, you had a long day?" Mitsuki asked, with a smirk.
"Yeah." Nemuri said.
Nemuri laid her head against the table, causing Mika to reassuringly pat her on the back.
"Hey, waiter!" Mitsuki shouted.
Nemuri looked up and saw Mitsuki looking right at her.
"Your drink will be on me." Mitsuki said.
"Thanks." Nemuri said.
"You didn't have to shout, people are staring now." Inko said, nervously.
"Let them stare, they can admire us from afar as much as they want!" Mitsuki exclaimed.
Inko nervously smiled since she was used to her friend's behavior but was still embarrassed by it.
"I don't think that they're admiring us." Inko thought.
Mika and Nemuri couldn't help but laugh and after awhile, Nemuri was feeling a bit better.
As the night went on, they discussed their personal lives.
Mika told them about how Kyotoku threw a fit when he learned that Kyoka and Izuku were moving in together.
"It's been over a year since they've graduated and they have great careers already, you would think that he'd be more composed by this point." Nemuri said.
"Yes, well, in the heat of the moment, his emotions always take control but that's part of the reason that I love him." Mika said.
Nemuri told them about her pursuit of finding a relationship.
"It's not exactly easy when you have a persona like mine, I'm not ashamed of who I am but it does lead to complicated situations and people having expectations." Nemuri said.
"Not to mention some of your less than ideal dates." Mika said.
Nemuri cringed and shivered as she remembered some of the people she had met.
"I swear they all have only one thing on their minds." Nemuri thought, angrily.
"It's oddly sweet that you're looking for a commitment." Inko said.
"Well, I just thought it would be nice to have someone who I can come home to and to have a devotion for as they do for me, after all, the job of a hero is a dangerous one and you never know when a moment could be your last." Nemuri said.
"I don't want any regrets and I want to feel that passion and love for someone." Nemuri said.
Inko was moved by her words and before the tears could be seen, Mika covered Inko's eyes with a napkin.
"Inko, can we have one time where we meet up and you don't end up crying?" Mika asked, while laughing.
"I'm sorry." Inko said.
As Nemuri chuckled, she looked over at Mitsuki and noticed the look on her face.
It was almost as if she had struck a nerve.
"So, Mitsuki, what's going on in your life?" Nemuri asked.
Mitsuki immediately changed her expression to her smug looking smirk but Nemuri could see right through it.
"There's nothing to say, it's just the same old stuff." Mitsuki said.
Mitsuki took a sip of her drink and looked away, effectively avoiding eye contact.
Nemuri still wasn't convinced.
After having a few more drinks, the group decided to call it a night.
Inko and Mika said their goodbyes and went home.
Before Mitsuki could leave, Nemuri stopped her.
"What's wrong?" Nemuri asked.
Mitsuki looked confused.
"Nothing, what are you talking about?" Mitsuki asked.
"Aside from when you got me a drink, you were quiet for most of the night and usually you're ranting about something when I ask you about your life." Nemuri told her.
"I've just had a long day, like you did, so it's no big deal." Mitsuki said.
"Your reaction says otherwise." Nemuri said.
Mitsuki glared at Nemuri but Nemuri looked determined.
"Look, it isn't any of your business, so just stay out of it!" Mitsuki shouted.
"I've been your friend for years and I know when you're just normally angry and when you're legitimately upset about something." Nemuri said, sternly.
Mitsuki looked away and frowned.
"I promise that if you don't want me to do anything about it then I won't but I at least want to know so that I might be able to understand." Nemuri said.
With those words said, Mitsuki looked back at Nemuri, eye to eye.
"My husband is filing for divorce." Mitsuki said.
