'Tiffany's Diary, August 7th. It's been one year, ONE year since the incident. Justin was an emotional wreck last year, constantly thinking about some awful yet vague shit he went through.
I still remember that evening at the hospital. He woke up after he overdosed on sleeping pills, following a mental breakdown. He was telling me how he was feeling, and I was there to listen to him. Ever since then, he's been acting weird. Like, I'm not even sure if this is the same guy I met over 3 years ago. I mean, yeah. We became committed on my birthday last December, but I dunno. I'm VERY worried about him.
Lately, he's been acting even more strange after everyone thought he made amends about his trauma. But that's been seeming to die down as of late and he's been going back to his depressed state. I even caught him cutting himself last week, which was VERY new to me. I couldn't tell my mom about it when she called, even though she did hear the sound of me patching up his arm with bandages.
But besides all that, I've been enjoying my new job at CC General. I'm FINALLY a registered nurse. My boss, Dr. Beckman, has been very nice to me. Not only is he my boss, but he's also considered a friend. I've told him about my boyfriend's issues and he offered, even encouraged, that me and him have a therapy session. After last week, I'm definitely considering it.
JD's a nice guy with a good heart, but as of late, his heart has taken a sudden dark turn. Something's wrong with him, and I wanna help him get through this. I love him so much and it would kill me if something ever happened to the poor guy. Hang in there, babe. Tiffany's gonna take care of you.'
Commotion City General Hospital, almost 5 o'clock in the evening. Tiffany Maye was almost finished with her shift in the hospital. She enjoyed taking care of the sick and injured people there.
"Ah, it's almost time to clock out." she said to herself. The blonde nurse somehow enjoyed work almost as much as school, even if Glenberry wasn't exactly in it's prime anymore. Still, the new nurse outfit looked almost as cute to her as the schoolgirl uniform that she still wore, for some odd reason.
"Excuse me, Nurse Maye? Could I have a word?" a rather gruff English-sounding man's voice called from a nearby office.
She stepped in to see what he wanted.
"Oh hey, Dr. Beckman. Did you need something?" she said to the balding doctor, who wore a lab coat and had glasses.
He looked at her, giving off a somewhat stern yet welcoming look.
"I've been noticing that you seem to be a tad distracted as of late. Are you still concerned about your boyfriend?" he asked, already knowing the situation.
The blonde nurse sighed. "Yeah, that's one thing that's been throwing me off. I can't stop thinking about him. I'm too afraid to leave him by himself sometimes."
Beckman nodded. "I see. Have you convinced him to attend my therapy sessions yet?"
"N-No. Not yet, at least. He's being kind of difficult as of late. Every time I mention therapy, he completely ignores it and tries to change the subject. I'm really worried about him, especially considering what happened last August."
The doctor nodded. "I understand. You can't force a young man like him to get therapy against his will. However, I do strongly encourage that you convince him. I know about what he went through. I know what kind of trauma he has. Greenseed is a terrible organization that needs to be shut down."
She nodded. Even if Dr. Beckman was trying to help, she still wanted to mention a problem that they might come across.
"You know he doesn't trust you, right?" Tiffany stated.
"Hmm? Why's that?"
"He thinks I'm having an affair with you. I tell him about how you help me if I'm having trouble at work, but he takes it like you do some uh... unspoken things with me."
The doctor frowned. "But we don't. He should know this. I'm married to a woman that's MY age. No need for him to worry."
"I-I know. Even when you compliment me, it's nothing sexual. It's usually 'you're doing a good job, Nurse Maye!' or 'Good work, Nurse Maye!'. I mean, I guess there was that one time last month when you said I looked cute in the nurse uniform, but that's it."
He nodded. "But it's true. You look adorable in the nurse outfit. If anything, he should worry more about that nosy intern, Reznik."
She blushed. "Y-Yeah. He knows that. Besides, I made a promise to never leave him. He's just paranoid is all."
"Regardless, I have a mostly open schedule for therapy sessions. I didn't spend eight years attending medical school for nothing."
"Yeah, I'm gonna try and convince him to get therapy with you. I'm just really worried about him after what I saw last week."
The doctor understood. Beckman was experienced in a lot of medical fields, having a PHD and a 4-year degree in psychology. He definitely had a lot on his records.
Tiffany then looked at the clock, realizing it was now the end of her shift.
"Oh, looks like my shift is up. I'm gonna go clock out. Have a good evening, Dr. Beckman." she said, saying farewell to her boss.
"See you around, Nurse Maye. And please, call me Howard. We're all friends here." he said.
She nodded, leaving his office and proceeding to clock out. Her shift at CC General was over for the day. Time to head to my new home...
Tiffany got into her car, turned the key, and began to drive to her current home. She definitely felt like moving in with Justin was the best choice. She was closer to her mom and Audrey had the apartment to herself. Even if his mental issues were a slight setback, the pros outweighed the cons.
On her way back, she got a phone call from Audrey, her best friend that recently converted herself into a Baptist.
"Hello?" the blonde nurse answered, still on the road.
"Hey, Bestie. What's up?" the ex-party girl greeted.
"Nothing much. Just heading home right now. Finished my shift at the hospital. It's been over a month but I'm loving it so far."
"That's good." Audrey said. "Glad you have a steady job. I guess I should say I'm proud of you."
"Yeah, right! I should be proud of YOU, Audrey. I'm glad you're still sober, especially after the whole mob situation."
The ex-party girl paused, remembering how messed up it was.
"Y-Yeah, let's not talk about that."
"Ooh." Tiffany said. "Sorry. I forgot."
"Ah, don't make such a big deal over it. I'm just happy with my life now. I got a decent friend group, a nice church to go to, a strong relationship with God, and a potential boyfriend that the nerd introduced me to."
The blondie chuckled, remembering what Nikki showed her. "Oh yeah. How's that relationship going?"
"It's going somewhere. Ah, Will Kennison. An angry Christian with a good heart. I mean, he's doing good shit though, scolding the sinners that show their dicks online. I love his livestreams."
Ha! Sounds like an interesting couple, that's for sure.
"So, how's your boyfriend doing?" Audrey asked, suddenly changing the subject.
"He's doing... I don't even know anymore!" Tiffany admitted, sounding off.
"What's wrong? Is he OK?" she asked in a rather concerned tone.
"He's a lot of things." she replied. "But none of them are OK. There's something wrong with him."
Oh God... What's wrong with JD?
"You know it's been about a year since-"
"I know, I know. Since he overdosed." Tiffany said. "I thought he was fixing himself, but something must've clicked in his head. I actually caught him cutting himself last week."
This came as a shock to Audrey, as she never really saw him as a cutter.
"Cutting himself? Damn, he needs Jesus." the ex-party girl suggested, trying to lighten the mood.
"No, he needs therapy. And trust me, I'm begging him to have sessions with Howard. He's just reluctant, is all. Constantly changing the subject. It's all overwhelming."
"But like, are you OK?" she asked.
"No." Tiffany said. "I'm worried. All day when I'm at work, I constantly think about him. It's becoming a distraction, and it's because I love him. If anything were to happen to him, I probably wouldn't be able to live with myself, almost like what happened back in January."
Audrey then remembered that fateful day, the day he was hit by a semi-truck and fell into a coma for ten days. She couldn't help but take most of the blame for it, as she was on a drug rage that evening.
"I'm sorry." she said, giving an unnecessary apology.
"No, don't be. We went over this before. What you did that day wasn't you, it was the drugs talking. That's exactly why I sent you to rehab."
Even if what Tiffany was saying was true, she still had some guilt for almost killing JD on their failed family gathering.
"Still, it was MY choice to take drugs that day. I mean, yeah, I was trying to cope after I lost Uncle Nate, but I shouldn't have taken that shit. I almost killed him, and it would've been my fault."
Tiffany frowned. Hearing her best friend get somewhat emotional on the phone over an event that happened 8 months prior wasn't easy to hear.
"Regardless, we're past that point now. You've sobered up and we've all forgiven you. He doesn't even seem to be upset with you for it. If anything, he's mad at your aunt for ditching you and the rest of the family in favor of her disgusting sugar baby business." she exclaimed, not being a fan of what Ms. Belrose was doing.
The ex-party girl agreed, understanding why he would feel that way. As soon as Brooke got Nathan's fortune, the money got to her head and she cut ties with most of her extended family, leaving Audrey's cousins to be taken care of by the maids/butlers that were hired by the Belrose family.
Not only that, but Brooke also fired several of her loyal employees at Love Lei Resort, as well as sending one to an institution.
Tiffany then pulled up the driveway of her current home, ready to go inside and settle down for the night.
"Well, I just pulled up. I'm about to let you go." she said, about to dismiss the conversation.
But the moment she turned off the car, she had a feeling of uncertainty. Something wasn't right...
"Oh God..." she said, feeling chills down her spine.
"What's wrong?" Audrey asked, suddenly alarmed by her friend's discomfort.
"I dunno. Something's not right."
"What do you mean?" she asked, not knowing what the blondie meant.
"I have no idea. I just got home and I got a sudden bad feeling in my gut."
The moment she got out of the car, she knew something was up. It was that special intuition that she had.
As she unlocked the door, she came in to a horrific sight.
"AHHH!" she screeched in agony, dropping her phone on the ground.
"What? What? What's going on over there?" Audrey said in a confused and panicked tone.
Tiffany picked up her cellphone, completely shaken up by what she was seeing.
"A-Audrey... It happened again..."
