This is my first story ever, I'm not a writer and english is not my mother language not even the second. If there is any interested Beta reader please let me know.

This is SASUHINA story slow burn because it's Sasuke Hinata from after the war until episode 175 Boruto. If you are NaruHina or SasuSaku fan don't read and don't watch Boruto, they are ridiculous. This story is the only explanation. And I wonder why there aren't enough stories like this. Which made me write this fanfiction.

This is a completed story, I will update every few days.

M for extremely mature content in late chapters.

I don't own Naruto/Boruto

"Is that you... Sasu ke... Kun? " She gasps and startled saying his beloved name. She couldn't breathe. He said he is never coming back, what happened? Why is he here? She folded her hands in front of her heart as she does when she sees his pretty face.

"Is Naruto here?" He knows he is not here; she knows he knows that. But they must say something in front of the kid. He didn't expect him to open the door.

Boruto looked at his startled mother, why is she so happy?

Sasuke admired her gorgeous face, not as pretty as before, she looked so thin and tired, she looked ill even. She is wearing a lot of layers of top baggy clothes and shorts. But he could see from her legs how thin she is. What happened to her? Why does she look so ill? He must talk to her in private.

"I think he is still at the Hokage office." Sasuke knows that, where else will the Hokage be?

She was shaking, words barely coming from her mouth. She clutched her knuckles harder not to walk to him and hug him in front of her son.

"I see... sorry to bother you" there is nothing else to say when Boruto is in between them. He must leave, he'll find another time to talk to her. Most importantly, she knows he is back in Konoha.

He looked at her for a moment. Their eyes said a thousand words. Then he turned and left. He is grimmer, darker, and more serious than ever. He looked so sad and broken. Her heart ached to see him like that.

Before 15 years

After the war was over and everyone woke up from the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Everyone gathered with their village shinobi and began retreating home. The five Kages agreed to meet in a month to discuss further development. They were too tired to waste any breath right now.

The injured were taken to medical care stations temporarily. The dead were burned, buried, or brought back to their villages.

Hyūga Neji was taken by the Hyūga branch members back to Konoha, to the Hyūga compound.

All she could think of, after waking up, is him. Hinata activated her Byakugan, searching for Naruto.

She found two dots. One orange next to one black. She focused more, it was him laying on a rock in the Valley of the End, next to Sasuke, Sakura arrived at the moment and started healing them. The place was a disaster. Completely wiped out. She hurried to Naruto without thinking. She was horrified when she saw their impotent limbs, they must have been fighting against each other. No one could cause so much damage to the other than those two.

When she arrived at the spot. Sakura told her to look after Sasuke's eyes. She wants to take care of Naruto, but she was the only one able to heal the Uchiha's eyes. They were puffy and bleeding. He looked miserable.

She collected healing chakra in her hand to start, at least stop the bleeding and the pain. To heal his eyes, with her Hyūga eye-healing knowledge, she must place her palm over his eye. He looked at her warily. "May I put my palm on your eye to heal it, Uchiha-San?" She asked politely.

At the moment he could only trust Sakura with her healing ability, which he saw during the war, against his better judgment of how annoying she is.

"Who are you?" He asked the Hyūga.

"She is our friend, Sasuke-Kun. Please let her heal you?" Spoke Sakura.

He looked at her for a moment. He recalls those Hyūga eyes. But he forgot where he saw her or what her name was. Hinata moved her hand closer to his Sharingan eye. He grabbed her wrist tied.

"I don't even know who you are. How can I trust you with my eyes?" Groaned the last Uchiha.

"I'm Hinata Hyūga, I was with you in the Academy. Please let me heal you. I have no purpose in hurting you. You can trust me." Hinata said warmly, looking into his eyes with concern.

He remembers now. Yes, the Academy, she was in his class, the small Hyūga with extra short hair. He thinks back to the stuttering, blushing young kunoichi.

But he doesn't trust anyone. Years with the missing Sennin made that clear.

"Your neck won't be straight if you try anything funny." He spoke behind gritty teeth.

Sakura was busy with Naruto, stopping the bleeding from the impotent limb and fixing his beaten-up face. He was out of chakra too.

Hinata stopped the bleeding and the pain in both of Sasuke's eyes. Peeking at Naruto every now and then. Sasuke was relieved that the pain was gone. But the healing is more complicated. She partially healed the new chakra pathways in his new Rinnegan eye. She healed Sasuke's arm and shared some chakra with him so he could travel to Konoha on his own. He was drained after the war and the fight with Naruto.

Sasuke would never admit that he was thankful for the new chakra that filled him. He could feel her strange chakra. Her healing chakra was normal but he could feel her nature chakra of lightning and fire, like him. How many Hyūgas have this combination? How strange.

They traveled to Konoha taking breaks for the sick and injured to rest. Sasuke has his own tent; he could care for most of his needs. But he was not used to operating with one hand. Hinata would help him if she is around. Otherwise, Sakura is always there. He looked at the Hyuga, constantly suspicious and skeptical.

She saw him glaring at her a few times in the camp. He remembered her, she sat at the opposite bunch. She always looked his way, he thought she was one of his many fangirls, but she wasn't. The only one that wasn't. She glanced at Naruto, who sat next to him next to Sakura on the bunch, with a blushing face.

Everyone was terrified of him, avoiding him and his deadly eyes, but not her. She found no reason to do so. He could kill them all, but he didn't. He could escape but he will not. He came with them for a reason. He was letting them breathe for a reason.

From a distance, they saw the great gate of Konoha. Konohamaru was standing with the rest of the villagers, waiting for the victorious shinobis. Everyone was shouting for Naruto and their loved ones.

Her Father Hiashi, little sister Hanabi and some Hyūga elders were there welcoming their Hero Hinata and receiving Neji's corpse with mixed emotions.

No one was there for Sasuke, Hinata noticed. He looked uninterested, bored even. She knows better, she has enough emotional intelligence to know he must be furious that no one acknowledged his efforts in the war.

She was happy for Naruto, for the acknowledgment he has received and still to receive after saving the world. But Sasuke's part was even important.

The Hyūga ex-heiress was sad for the lone Uchiha. The more she thought about it the more she felt sad and depressed. But there is nothing to do about it. She can't tell the villagers to welcome Sasuke and acknowledge him as they did Naruto. They are such hypocrites. They scolded and ignored Naruto, feared him, and treated him like dirt his whole life even though his parents sacrificed their lives to save the village. And now they adore him and cheer for him. They used to worship the Uchihas like they were gods, and now they fear Sasuke and treat him like a traitor.

She greeted the Hyūgas and decided to never leave Sasuke's side until he recovers completely.

Sasuke and Naruto were immediately taken to the hospital for final healing and check-ups. Tsunade gave the task to Hinata to be responsible for his healing process and seal Sasuke's eyes while she and Sakura make a prosthetic arm for Naruto. Sakura must learn this important healing technique before the Fifth resigns completely.

Tsunade told Sakura that the artificial arm was probably impossible to work on Sasuke as it would on Naruto. It's made of Hashirama cells and Naruto has Senju blood in him. Sasuke doesn't want an artificial arm anyway. He wanted to be reminded of his sin and wrongdoing.

Hinata brought someone from the Hyūga compound to seal Sasuke's eyes. She felt so sorry for him to be blinded like that, but he was too dangerous and no one could beat him with those eyes active. She was daily for him there, healing him and looking after his every need.

The Hyūga still has a thing for Naruto he could tell. Everytime they mention him, she flinches. And that's his assurance that she won't make funny business to him or hit on him or worse, try to touch him without his permission.

Sasuke was patient with her, he never pushed her away. It was nice having her there, hearing her voice, her soothing smell, and her graceful moves. Everything about her brought peace inside of him. Especially after that craziness of the war. He needed her, he needed the assurance that someone he can trust -without his eyes- is there. And somehow, he trusts her. She has no reason to harm him.

He loved the attention she gave him. Not that he has a desire for female affection. Who could resist an Uchiha? But she never looked at him in Academy days. She wasn't interested in him personally. But her presence every day, just for him, made him feel strangely satisfied. She made him feel relaxed and fine with this whole new situation.

Giving him some privacy when he needed it. Trusting he could accomplish some stuff on his own. Making his favourite food. Entertaining him with small talk when he was in the mood or enjoying the silence when he felt like it. He was getting interested in her. What kind of person is she?

She doesn't talk unless she has to and doesn't touch him unless she really needs to, and tells him exactly what she will do in advance.

"Why are you being a good patient?" She asked one time.

"If I want to get out of here as soon as possible, I have to cooperate." He was being logical.

Then he added " I have no reason to make your time treating me difficult" he smirked.

She smiled; he was thinking about her. He wanted her to feel relaxed and comfortable during the time they spent together. That made her happy.

They become friends, at least from her side. She felt so sad when she knew he was going to be transferred from the hospital to prison. How could they do this to him?

"Isn't it enough that your eyes are sealed, and I'm here supervising you" she was very sad. She didn't receive the news as well as he thought. He didn't get as depressed from the news as her.

The last Uchiha only hummed in agreement. What can he say or do? He must play along until it is over. Kakashi guaranteed him it would take a couple of days then he would be free and pardoned if everything went well.

"I think the village should be thankful to you" She supported.

He arched his brow but she couldn't see it behind his eyes cover.

"You killed two Akatsuki members alone. You killed Deidara who defeated Gaara on his own. You killed Itachi the unbeatable" he flinched.

'Of course, she doesn't know.'

"If it wasn't for you Orochimaro could never be killed the first time" a moment of silence.

"If it wasn't for you Danzo would be still alive, he made our lives miserable with his plots. Father told me so. We would never win the war with him as Hokage."

He said "hm"

She went on "If it wasn't for you bringing back the four previous Hokages we wouldn't have won"

Her list is long, she probably gave this a thought.

"If it wasn't for you bringing back Orochimaro to life again, the five Kages would be dead by now"

He thought about that, Orochimaro brought Karin, which cured Tsunade. The Fifth healed the other Kages. They joined the fourth great shinobi war thereafter. He hummed " hm".

"You stopped the reanimation jutsu that Kaboto created and saved so many lives." It was Itachi, but not many know that. He tilted his head to the side. She understood he was confused.

"You saved Anko-sensei and removed her cursed sign. She told me about everything"

She added " and many many things you did to the village. If you didn't fight the ten-tailed beast, Obito, and Madara. If you didn't seal Kaguya. We wouldn't be here now. You and Naruto saved the world from the Infinite Tsukuyomi. I'm so grateful to you Sasuke-Kun"

He was overwhelmed, no one ever before counted his good deeds. Not that he had many. He felt proud of himself, he will never admit it. He knows he made a lot of bad things but helped the world be a better place by getting rid of some troublemakers that only he could defeat.

He was silent for a while. He was thinking about what will happen to him in prison.

"I will never leave you," she said as she read his thought " I'll do my best to visit you there too".

He was surprised by her suggestions. Of course, he wants to have her there, he only trusts her and his old team, Konoha is still foreign to him.

After Ibiki Morino took a look at his brain for memories, he reported it to the new Sixth Hokage Kakashi Hatake. Once they were sure he have no intention to destroy Konoha anymore or any evil plans, they set him free. He stayed in one of the tents they built after Pain's attack. Hinata was a regular visitor, Sakura and Naruto were too.

After long thought, the Uchiha told Kakashi that he wants to build an estate in the Uchiha district. He knows he wants one like his old family house, in traditional Japanese style. Kakashi recommended talking to Hinata and Hiashi about that. He has enough money in the Uchiha deposit for his grand-grandchild.

Hinata brought him to the Hyūga compound to see Hiashi. They met in the meeting room.

"So, you want to restore your compound, Sasuke-san. " Asked the Hyūga Clan head.

"I can help, of course, we have capable builders' specialists in traditional Japanese residences. Let me know when you want to start and I'll send them over." Hiashi spoke in a calm monotone. The Uchiha nodded and thanked him politely.

"Sasuke-san we are both clan heads and neighbours. We have to be on good terms with each other. We are a decent, respected clan. We don't want any trouble. I'm I clear?" He added in a firm tone.

Sasuke knew what he meant. He wants a peaceful stay too. He hummed and nodded in agreement.

Hiashi added directing his daughter " walk Sasuke-san around the compound to create an idea of what he wants " they greeted Hiashi and walked out of the main Hyuga residence to look at the other houses. Sasuke enjoyed the serenity and perfection of the compound. He wants the Uchihas to look like this for the next generations. He is transforming into a Hyūga. He shakes his head at the thought as they walk out of the compound.

"Sasuke-Kun I hope you liked what you saw, I have the feeling you enjoyed the walk"

"Hm," he admitted.

"Have you developed an idea of what you want?" She asked.

"I guess" Sasuke answered.

"Ok will meet tomorrow morning and start planning what it will look like"

" hm"

The next morning, they met at the destroyed Uchiha area. She told him how Pain used all his power to destroy the village which is why there is a big crater at the center of the village. That the village was now little by little getting to function again.

The District was better destroyed, he doesn't want it as it was anyway, he has new plans. He chose the closest place to the neighbouring Hyūga compound to build his new home.

He told her what he desired it to look like. It was easy to discuss his plan with her, she completely understands what he wants without further ado.

Then he told her he was leaving in a week. She couldn't believe him; he had just gotten here. Naruto will be so devastated. He spends his teen years thinking about how to bring his teammate back. Now he's back, he wants to leave again.

She got so used to lone Uchiha, to his silent language, to his stoic attitude, to his pretty face and mismatched eyes.

"I didn't travel the world as you did on missions, I was mostly at Orochimaru's hideouts. I want to see different places, meet interesting people, know more about myself and.. heal... inside" he added hesitated.

She nodded in understanding " I will make you something please take it with you. "

He nodded in excepting " you have plenty of time to finish our house" he simply said.

She didn't dwell on the "our", he means the house we are working on. She told herself.

She rushed home, thinking about what she would make for him. Something useful for travelers. She'll knit him a Poncho, it's November and it's getting cold. She has one week to go, and she has to hurry.

He spends the week with Naruto and Sakura. Hinata didn't want to disturb their gatherings. Plus, she has a long Poncho to knit. Sasuke was towering over her every time they met. The Pancho must be long enough. She made the top half beige with a hoodie to protect him from rain and unwanted attention. The lower half is light brown with a decorative brown edge and stitches. She added three necklaces as a reminder and symbol of his teammates, green for Kakashi, yellow for Naruto, and red for Sakura.

She wrapped it up as tightly as possible and met him on the day of travel in the Uchiha district. She gave him his gift and some tomato-filled onigiri, his favourite. He told her he is heading to the training ground to farewell Naruto with a match.

He saw the shy tears rolling on her pretty face before she turned and left. It ached him to see her sad about their separation. He didn't know he meant something to her. They are just friends, right?

He departed and Hinata's world turned a little grim. At least she has ' their' home to build.

After the spar with Dobe. He met Sakura and Kakashi at the gate. Why are they together? He poked her head and thanked her for everything she did for him along with Naruto. His heart is getting softer. His feelings for her are brotherly that is why he poked her like Itachi used to do to him. But she blushed red in misunderstanding.
