Hello Everyone,

After a long wait, "Interlinked" (The Sequel to Interweaved) is finally here. Since this is the last story in the "Tied in Love" Trilogy, I highly recommend reading "Intertwined" and "Interweaved" before reading this one. Additionally, there's also the two sets of side stories, "Interconnecting Stories" and "Interlacing Stories", available if you want read some more of the overall story. Updates will be made every Friday.

With no reviews to respond to. Now, on with the story.

Chapter 1: Three Years

(Inside Alola)

One day, Detective Mateus Cobalt and Alolan League Champion Ash Ketchum investigated the hidden portion of a Team Rocket Base and found something that blew their minds, a Sylveon-Human Hybrid. Tasked with keeping her safe while Mateus worked out the details of her case, Ash would give her the name "Stella" and help her make friends, find hobbies, and adjust to the world. Eventually, the two would fall for each other and start a relationship. After a kidnapping attempt on the hybrid was foiled by Ash and his friends, it was discovered that her actual name was Serena. But, it doesn't end there.

(The scene then shifts to Kalos.)

Little more than a year later, Serena and Ash decide to visit Kalos to spend some time together and reunite with her parents. The couple would meet new friends and Ash would introduce his girlfriend to some of his old ones. Though an elaborate attempt was made to split the two, Ash and Serena's love would prosper through this hurdle. Serena would reunite with her parents in heartfelt reunion and rekindle a few friendships of her own. On the day of their second anniversary, Ash proposed to his beloved sweetheart.

(The scene then shifts back to Alola.)

We are, from the implication of the chapter title, three years from that fateful day.

(Ketchum Residence, Melemele Island, Alola)

Inside a house in Melemele Island, sitting down in the living room with two people was a man with his Pikachu, talking to the older couple about various things. Unbeknownst to the couple, a Sylveon-Human Hybrid was right behind them. "Ash, you and Serena asked us to head to your house without much notice." Said the Older Man. "We came here as quickly as possible. Has something happened?" Asked the Older Woman. "Charles, Grace, I know we promised no more surprises, but we were hoping to pull off one last one." Said Ash. "What?" Said Charles. "What could possibly top your wedding?" Asked Grace. Ash then smiles. "Turn around."

(Charles and Grace then turn around to see their daughter, Ash's wife, holding two baby Eevee-Human hybrids, one with the regular brown fur and the other with the shiny white fur.)

"Mom, Dad, you're grandparents now. Eon." Said Serena. "W-why didn't you tell us earlier?" Asked Grace, making her way to her daughter and grandchildren. "We decided that it would fitting if you were the last to find out, but the first ones to see them." Answered Ash. "Every time I feel as if you've met my expectations, you find a way to supersede them." Said Charles. Serena then turns her attention to her father. "It was my idea to do this." Grace then turns to Serena. "I don't think anything can top this." The four then share a laugh. Charles then turns to Ash. "What did you name them?" "The regular furred one is a boy, we decided to name him Wyatt Akaito Ketchum. The shiny furred one is a girl, her name is Stella Delia Ketchum." Grace then turns to Serena. "Excellent name choices for both of them." "Thank you Mom. Eon."

(Meanwhile, Near Professor Alva's house.)

Mateus was walking to Prof. Alva's house, today marks one year from the day that his sentence had come to an end.

(Flashback, One Year Ago)

"Professor Alva Chiaroscuro, by formal decree of the International Police, the serving of your sentence is complete and you are now a free man under the court of law as of today." Said Mateus.

(Flashback Ends)

"Professor Alva. I know that it can be hard to come to terms with what you had to do. I do hope that you can find the peace that you deserve." Thought Mateus to himself. Rosa then sees Mateus by the fence. "Ah, Detective! Good Morning." Said Rosa. "Good Morning Rosa. Is your father home?" Said Mateus. "Yes. He's inside reading. Do you want me to bring you to him?" "If you'd like to, that'd be fine." "Alright."

(Rosa and Mateus then enter the house.)

"Dad. Detective Cobalt is here." Said Rosa. Professor Alva the looks up from the book he is reading. "Very well then. Both of you can take a seat if you'd like." Said Prof. Alva. Mateus and Rosa then sit down. "How have you been Professor?" Asked Mateus. "Life has been tranquil for the most part. How are Ash and Serena?" "Good. Their children were born a few weeks back." "Children?" "Serena was carrying twins." "They're both in for a handful, raising twins is no easy challenge, but parents take the challenge out of love. I know from experience." Rosa then turned to Mateus. "We were excited when we heard that Ash and Serena were expecting." Professor Alva then chimes. "All of us were. Though, I cannot say I wasn't surprised. I didn't think it would be possible for Serena to be able to reproduce, but given what Team Rocket's plans for the project, I'm positive that they made sure that she could." "I see." Rosa then turns her attention back to Mateus. "Have you been able to see them yet, Detective?" "No. If I'm correct, Serena's parents are seeing them now, and everyone else will be able to tomorrow."

(The conversation is interrupted by the sound of the doorbell.)

"I'll get it." Said Mateus. "Are you sure." Asked Rosa. Mateus turned to Rosa. "It's fine" Mateus then heads for the door, upon opening it, he sees a few officers for the International Police. "Professor Alva's sentence ended a year ago." "We're actually here for you Detective. However, this matter does concern Professor Alva." Said One of The Officers. "What do you mean?"

(The Next Day)

Many of Ash and Serena's friends were gathering around to congratulate the couple and get a look at the newborns, being as quiet as possible so as to not disturb them while sleeping. "They're so adorable." Squealed a delighted Bonnie. "Thank you Bonnie. Eon" Said Serena. "Can I play with them?" "They're still fairly new. So I think it would be best to wait right now." "I understand." "I love what you and Ash did for their room." Said Korrina. "Thank you. Eon. How's your relationship with Clemont going, Korrina?" "Clemont is an amazing boyfriend, although communication can be a little iffy sometimes." "Really?" "Yeah. But other than that, our relationship is still going strong. How are things going for you and Ash?" "Excellent! In some cases, me and Ash-kun don't even need words to communicate. Eon. Watch." Serena then makes a peering smile with one of her feelers covering her mouth and focuses her attention on Ash. Upon glancing at his wife, Ash briefly freezes up before nodding. "Hey Gary, Sorry to cut this short, but Serena needs me right now." Said Ash. "It's alright Ash, best to tend to your wife when needed." Said Gary.

(Ash then made his way to Serena.)

"What do you need, Sweetheart?" "Me and Korrina are going to continue our conversation outside to get some fresh air. Can you take care of the kids while we're out? Eon?" Asked Serena. "Of course." Replied Ash. Serena and Korrina then head outside to the side porch, getting a breath of fresh air. "That was impressive, Serena. How did you and Ash manage to achieve that?" Asked Korrina. "It took some time to assess everything, and figure out how we would show attention to each other when we're split apart in large gatherings." "It's almost like you're a Psychic Type as well." "I suppose you could think of it like that as well. Eon." Serena and Korrina then share a laugh. "So how did you and Ash name them?" "Oh, that was simple."

(Flashback, Three Weeks Prior)

"Nine months already? It seems like yesterday that you told me you were expecting." Said Ash sitting inside of a hospital room. "Any day now. I'm just so happy to see what they'll look like. Eon." Said Serena, who was lying down on a hospital bed. "Come to think of it, Sweetheart. Did we ever think of names for them?" "No, I don't recall doing so Ash-kun. We should have thought about this earlier, Shouldn't we?" Ash then places his hand on his chin. "We both know that one's a boy and one's a girl. That should provide a good starting point." "That is true. Eon. I already have an idea for their middle names." "What are you thinking?" "I was thinking we use the names of your parents as their middle names, as a way to honor them." "Serena." "Ash, I know this may be sudden, but you do look up to them, I think this is the best way to honor them. Eon." "Thank you." Ash then hugs Serena. "Just to let you know, visiting hours are closing soon, so you'll need to get ready to leave for the night." Said The Nurse. Ash turns to the Nurse. "Alright. Thank you Nurse." Ash then turns back to his wife. "Are you sure you're okay with spending the night Serena?" "I'm used to it Ash, but thank you for wondering about me." The Nurse then turns to Ash and Serena. "If you two would like, I can keep her company over the night." "That would be nice. Eon." Ash then looks at his wife. "Good night, Sweetheart. If you need anything, I'm a phone call away." Serena smiles at her husband. "Thank You Ash-kun, and good night as well."

(Ash then leaves the hospital room.)

"He's such a nice husband. I've seen many that don't even give the slightest bit of care for their wives." Said The Nurse. "He is. But, I can see the worry in his eyes. Eon." Said a frowning Serena. "What do you mean?" "The last time he saw his mother, Ash had to leave the hospital because visiting hours had closed." "So you think that he's worried that it might happen to you?" "I wouldn't be surprised. Eon." "My best suggestion is to talk to him about it. I also think it was adorable to honor his parents the way you suggested."

(The Next Day)

"So, have you thought about names yet?" Asked Ash. "I have. I'm thinking we name our son Wyatt. It's a name that means 'brave in the world' and is said to suggest braveness, strength, and a healthy sense of humor. Eon." Said Serena. "What about our daughter?" "I was thinking of giving her the name that you gave me after you saved me from Team Rocket." "Stella?" "Yes. It's a name that sounds beautiful and is almost celestial like. Eon." "I think those are excellent names." "They both reminded me of you." "What about their last name?" "I think we'll keep it simple for now and have them use your last name, Ash-kun. If they wish to change it to my maiden name or add it as an appendage, we can make that can be up to them. Eon." "That's not a bad idea Sweetheart. Oh! I was also able to check some of Mom's old documents." "You did?" "Yep. I found my parents' first names." "Really?! Eon?!" "My Dad's name was Akaito Ketchum, while my mom's was Delia Ketchum. She never told me her maiden name." "That's fine. How do you pronounce your father's name?" "It's pronounced 'A-kai-tow'. Mom said it was derived from Aka or Akai, the Japanese word for red." "Wyatt Akaito Ketchum and Stella Delia Ketchum. It has a nice ring to them. Eon. Don't you think, Ash?" "I agree, Serena."

(End Flashback)

"After that we had a long talk about personal stuff for each of us, and two days later, we got to welcome them into the world. Eon." Said Serena. "Sound like the name choosing process was fun for you two." Said Korrina. "It was." Serena then notices something on Korrina's finger. "Korrina? Eon?" "Yes, Serena?" "I noticed that you have a ring on your finger, even though it's rare for you to wear jewelry." "You're the first one other than Bonnie to notice. Clemont proposed to me a few days ago. We were planning to announce at some point this week, but when you and Ash invited all of us to see the twins, we both determined that it would be best to wait a little longer." "Why? Eon?" "We didn't want to take away from a moment that's yours. Besides all of us call each other friends, but we're really one big makeshift family." "I see. Shall we head back inside?"

(A Few Hours Later)

Ash and Serena were cleaning up the house while Charles and Grace were looking after their children. "Today was fun, wasn't it Sweetheart?" Asked Ash. "It most certainly was Ash-kun. Though there were a few people that I was hoping to come, but didn't show up. Eon." Said Serena. "It's fine. We'll introduce the kids to them when they're able to visit." "I'd suppose that would be best. We're all done here." Serena then turns to Delphox and Pancham. "How are you two doing on the other side of the house? Eon?" "Del Phox Delphox. (We just finished.)" "Excellent! Ash, can you take these outside and place them in the trash while I check on my parents and the twins?" "Of course."

(Ash then goes outside while Serena heads upstairs.)

"How are the twins? Eon?" Asked Serena. "They're sleeping. Looking at them reminds me of when you were a baby, Serena." Said Grace. "Really?" "It's true. You were the cutest thing ever when you were born. We never thought we would ever see the day that we became grandparents. No matter what has happened or will happen, you are, and always will be, your mother and I's greatest accomplishment. And we'll love you from the bottom of our hearts." Serena then hugged her parents with her feelers. "Thank you Mom, Dad. I love you too, both of you. Eon."

(A Few Minutes Later)

"Shall we get ready to call it a night?" Asked Ash. "It has been a tiring day. Eon." Said Serena. Ash and Serena then hear a knock on the door. Ash then looks at his wife. "I'll get it."

(Ash then walks up to the door and opens it.)

"Mateus?!" Asked a shocked Ash.
