Chapter 1:
Jaune is clumsy and falls down the stairs, getting fussed over and mocked by different sisters.
Jaune measures his height, only to discover no improvement in his stature, but still proclaims his desire to become a warrior to his family's scoffs.
Jaune is bringing lunch to his father and older sister when a Grimm attack occurs forcing him to flee.
His sister unlocks his aura and urges him to run, having been exhausted by the act and having to make a last stand with Crocea Mars in order to give him a chance to escape.
Chapter 2:
Jaune runs through the forest for hours, slowly realizing that the longer he runs, the less he stumbles and the easier he breathes.
Upon reaching the closest settlement, he is told that he is the sole survivor from the Grimm attack, is offered a meal, a change of clothing and a room at the local inn.
While showering the next morning, Jaune finds that his body has changed. He is taller, more muscular and his face is more symmetrical than it used to be.
After breakfast, he is told to leave for Vale, where his father set up some money for him and his siblings in case a situation like the current one ever occured.
Jaune boards onto a train delivering a Schnee Dust Company cargo ship in direction of the Kingdom of Vale.
Chapter 3:
On the train, Jaune sits among the security crew, discovering his reflexes are much better when he catches a hat before it flies away through the window.
Jaune is asked to write a letter for an illiterate man's wife and is shocked by how pretty his handwritting has become.
The train is suddenly attacked by the White Fang and Jaune's new friend dies.
Jaune is given a gun and told to shoot but he is uncomfortable with the idea and the racism of the conductor calling them "animal scum", so he sneaks away.
Jaune knocks out a grunt and walks in on Blake and Adam fighting among themselves over the necessity of executing an already knocked out security guard.
The confrontation heats up and Jaune shoots Adam's hand to save Blake who then runs away and out of the train, following her accomplice.
Jaune makes sure everyone is fine, captures the knocked-out grunt and is called a hero by the conductor.
Chapter 4:
Upon arriving in Vale, the whole crew is given a complementary month of stay at the SDC Hotel as a thanks for saving the merchandise from the grubby hands of the Faunus terrorists.
Jaune puts his affairs in order, setting up bank accounts, purchasing a Scroll and opening social media accounts.
Realizing he is looked down upon by the Hotel staff due to his clothing, Jaune decides to change up his whole wardrobe and purchase better fitting and cleaner clothes.
At the store, he is approached by Coco, who forces him to model for her, getting his picture taken in exchange for her picking stylish items for him.
The effect is instantaneous and when he leaves, Jaune realizes he is more popular than he previously thought.
In the evening, he finds his fellow crewmates observing the Schnee heiress and decides to approach her, if only to ask for her help finding the family of his dead friends, who's final letter he still has in his pocket.
