Meta-abilities have plagued the world for no more than a few decades. In the grand scheme of things, that is an insignificant amount of time in terms of humanity's history, but this doesn't mean they have any less impact on society when compared to all discoveries which proceeded it.

They have been examined by the top researchers of the world. They were concluded to be a mutation of sorts, a mutation that's rapidly spreading throughout the world.

The term "impossible" has long been disregarded, as nearly a quarter of the population has some sort of uncanny ability varying between super-strength, or something random like eye-lasers.

With this, these uncanny and shounen-like abilities have driven society into chaos, with law enforcement and government officials have little to no control over the crime which was rising by the month.

It has turned the rules that society, which has worked so hard to implement and made them nonexistent. It has shaped people's perception of the world and how they're influenced by it.

People are discriminated against, people are killed, people are saved, and people are left for dead.

But there's one individual who stood up to all of that. The person changes the variables and then proceeds to break them.

All for One, the Symbol of Terror.

There have been many tyrants in the history of humanity. Alexander the Great, Ivan the Terrible, and many Japanese feudal lords from the past, but none of them can match the monster known as All for One.

He had a lust for power and took quirks as he saw fit. No one dared to stand up to him. The man had a terrifying number of meta-abilities, and meta-abilities were a symbol of power, plain and simple.

Those who did usually ended up injuries, injuries ranging from cracked ribs to something even worst than death, torture. In many ways, he was one of the most sadistic people on the planet at the time, but this didn't mean he was a sociopath, far from it.

It was a dreary afternoon, with the scent of rain still present within the air. All for One was sitting on his favorite reclinable chair, watching the sunset. The moment would have been peaceful had he been able to ignore the screaming and banging coming from his basement.

"I give him food, water, and even several forms of entertainment, and he still isn't happy, tch." He sighed as he got up from his chair and walked towards the basement door. "This time I'll deal with it myself."

The basement was unlike any other. With metal plating surrounding the walls, and with various amounts of vault doors. In terms of size, All for One calculated it to be around a thousand meters in surface area.

For a basement, it seemed to be overkill. But for All for One, it was nothing of the sort. It was just enough to house some of his more dangerous experiments, subjects, and even house guests.

"Y-You're back?" A voice whispered out to him. A normal person wouldn't be able to detect it, considering that the vault rooms were soundproof, but All for One could detect even the smallest vibrations and calculate what type of sound they were, courtesy of his meta-abilities.

"Correct dear brother." He opened the door with his bare hands. "And I see you still haven't eaten the food I gave you." He said to the brother with a disproving look. "Here I take pity on you and give you food, water, and even entertainment, and you don't even use it."

"And I'll never give to your twisted idea of 'pity.' What you're doing is wrong, and you should realize that, but I guess a psychopath wouldn't know better." The brother scowled as he looked away."

"You know if you don't eat the food I've given, you'll be dead within twenty-four hours, right?" All for One stated. "My meta-abilities can tell. Your lung cancer isn't exactly helping either. The only thing you've been taking is our meds," All for One paused but then continued. "Will only keep you alive for so long."

The brother chuckled. "I'd rather die than give in to your hospitality brother-" All for One's brother was cut off as he broke off into a spontaneous coughing fit. "L-Like I said, I'll die here if it means not giving in to you."

All for One felt rage and anger boil within him and his system but calmed himself. "This isn't about our political standing Yoichi, this is about your survival. I might not let you free, but that doesn't mean I wish for you to die." All for One walked forward to his brother. "Think Yoichi, think! You'll waste away in this vault just because of a silly idea? Who's the crazy one, me or you?"

"You." His brother said with little hesitation before coughing up mucus and blood.

All for One grit his teeth. "Fine, don't accept what little hospitality and kindness I offer you." All for One began to walk away from his brother, stopping just before he reached the door. "I'll just get you to accept my methods, through force." He walked through the doorframe and closed the door shut, leaving his brother in solitude.

His brother Yoichi sighed. "Be that as it may brother, I can tell that you at least care for me. Still, that doesn't change the fact that your heart is wicked. Karma will get you one day."

Seconds after uttering his sentence, Shigaraki Yoichi passed out.

All for One was currently strolling through a pathway, contemplating what to do about his brother. He was approximately five kilometers away from his base, with the only thing surrounding him being trees and the rocky mountainside of his estate.

He wasn't left with many options to keep his brother alive at this point. The medications that his brother had prescribed for him hadn't been working properly for months. Yoichi wouldn't be alive in twenty-four hours, and All for One knew it.

The only other method he saw that would help him was to give him a quirk that would basically cure his sickness. The only problem is that those quirks were rare, even All for One didn't have any of those types.

Thankfully, with the nature of his base meta-ability helping him sense quirks, and with his meta-ability, Radar, he was capable of finding any sort of power. No matter how rare.

"How convenient, I've found the perfect one!" He cackled as he dashed off towards the location of his target at Mach speeds.

I hope Yoichi wouldn't mind a meta-ability, no? He laughed some more before increasing his speed tenfold, determined to save his brother.

As All for One landed right in front of his target, he was shocked to see a smile on his target's face. "Why are you smiling?" He asked, genuinely confused.

"It's simple. It's because I want to fight you."

All for One froze, staring at the stranger with perplexed eyes. It was several seconds before All for One really processed what the stranger meant, and once he did, he broke into a hysterical fit of laughter.

"You want to fight me? Oh, how rich!" He didn't stop laughing until the stranger interrupted him. "Apart from you being somehow aware of me hunting you down, and me conveniently finding you, I don't know which is the bigger surprise!"

"Is there something funny?" He asked. "I'm being serious here; I want to fight you."

All for One placed a hand on his face dramatically. "Oh, I know that, but the problem is something you overlooked, my quirk. You aren't going in this quirkless are you? Because I won't be so merciful to give you that delight." The laughing turned into a nasty grin. If looks could kill, the stranger would already be six feet under.

The strange man didn't even flinch. Which surprised the tyrant. "I'm here because I'm not an ass kisser like your followers."

This delighted him. "Hmm? Is that so?" Moving faster than the average person would be able to track, and reappearing behind the man in mere microseconds, he cockily grinned and said, "I want to test that." Before the man could even think he was struck with multiple consecutive blows to his body.

Each blow was powerful enough to send shock waves rippling through the area they were standing in, with trees being blown away and uprooted.

By the time All for One was finished, his fists were left smoking. "It's been a while since I've busted out a combo like that against fodder. Shock Absorption negated most of the force and Impact Nullifier directed it back, but it still strains my muscles."

The tyrant's gaze steeled, but he showed no sign of pain, despite the ache in his muscles. "But anyway, your meta-ability is mine. I came here for a reason anyway, and I won't forget that. I can hear my little brother complaining from his cellar."

"Who said you're leaving?"

All for One froze. But then the laughing returned, oh how interesting the man was. "You just took the equivalent force of a B83 bomb straight to the face, liver, chest, and you're still standing?" He turned around to face the man. "Oh, and without a scratch too, I might accept your offer."

The man grew a cocky grin as he let his power flow through his veins. The air crackled with red electricity. "You're welcome to try!" He exclaimed while dashing off at a pace faster than sound could keep up with.

The man was interesting, interesting indeed.

He took almost over three thousand hits from the goliath known as All for One. Granted, his arms seem to be nothing but mangled flesh and bone, but it was the principle of it!

He chuckled sadistically. "You lasted a few minutes and managed to get a few good licks in." All for One, after wheezing through that sentence, hacked up blood. "Oh, there goes a rib." He laughed even more sadistically.

The man scowled. "You think this is funny?"

He was injured, but yet he still held firm against certain death. All for One had to give credit where credit is due. And this man deserved said credit.

"You're an interesting individual yourself, and no, if you're curious, I never held back, it's because of Super Regeneration and Maximum Restoration that I'm still alive." He bragged.

"Your meta-ability, it's interesting." The man held out his hand. "But before I take your precious power away, what's your name?"

The stranger glared at him. "Like I'm telling you."

All for One simply smiled. "Wrong response, but since your hair color is green, I'll call you Midori." He cackled ominously.

The 'Midori' stranger never stopped glaring at him, and just sat there waiting for the sweet release of death.

All for One didn't seem to be pleased. "It's no fun if I just get the same reaction every response, I'll just take your meta-ability now." He placed his hand on the man's head and sucked away. "Oh, I can feel it."

The man screamed.

Once he was done, the man was already unconscious. "You managed to fight on par with me in a battle for nearly an hour. In battle, I might be merciless, but even I can recognize talent, you deserve to live." He placed his hand on the blood-ridden body and a faint glow appeared.

The tyrant smiled as he left the man lying on the ground, not speaking a word until he was out of sight.

"To think there was a person who could still challenge me, even when I use all of my quirks." All for One said. "Had he thrown one or two more punches, I would've been toast." He smiled as he raced back towards his base at top speed.

"You'll accept my kindness Yoichi, and I won't be taking no for an answer this time."

Midoriya Izuku was many things. Childish, observative, smart, a complete cinnamon roll, and sometimes very stubborn. His mother disliked the last bit. But above all else, he was a very curious child.

Their neighbors would agree. Too many times have they found him lurking around the local neighborhood observing his surroundings after walking out of his apartment.

Well, at least this time he was controlling his curiosity.

A little mop of green hair could be seen browsing through the computer, looking for videos to watch, something that could entertain his four-year-old brain.

It was a hassle to even get on the computer as he had to wait until his mother was done cooking so she could get him on.

He was clueless as to how to activate it, after all, he was a four-year-old.

A video popped up on the screen.

From what he could tell, the video had a certain number of views that he didn't know how to count, it looked like it was the number one hundred with multiple other zeroes in it.

So, he clicked on it.

At first, everything looked like a disaster. Turned over cars with debris scattered everywhere. People walking out with injuries, surely there seemed to be casualties, right?

Then he heard laughing, which garnered all of his attention.

"HAHAHAHA! Fear not, because I am here!" Suddenly, a man came out carrying a multitude of people on his back. From what Izuku could tell, it looked to be about ten people from Izuku's count.

Izuku thought the man had a funny expression on his face, but he ignored that. "He's already saved over a hundred people, and he's still rescuing more?" Izuku's eyes widened bigger than saucers.

A hundred?!

He then took another look at the man with a dozen people on his back. "I assure you! Everything is fine, citizens! I will make sure nobody here is injured and is safely accounted for!" He plastered on a bigger smile, which astonished him.

"He's so cool!" He shouted.

The high-pitched voice garnered his mother's attention and she walked into the room. "Is something wrong, Izuku?" His mother asked.

He shook his head in rapid speed. "No, it's just that this funny-looking man on the c-compete, competer." He struggled to remember how to pronounce the name.

His mother smiled. "Computer." She corrected him.

His smile returned. "Yeah, computer! This funny-looking man saved a bunch of people and he looks so cool!" He started jumping up and down excitedly as he did a bunch of poses like the man.

Inko tilted her head. "Let me have a look." She walked up to the computer and reversed the video enough to see the man. Her eyebrows went upwards in surprise. "Oh, him?! Izuku dear, he was on the news last night."

She smiled warmly. "He's a hero called All Might."

Izuku would be jumping up and down and shouting this 'All Might' person's name, hell, he's already vibrating with anticipation, but the natural curiosity of a four-year-old prevented that.

"Mom, what's a hero?" He asked, still vibrating.

Inko did a comedic gasp. "You don't know what a hero is? They're basically like policemen, but they use their quirk to capture criminals. They're similar to those old comic characters like Captain America, or Spider-Man, except they're real." She giggled. "You like them?"

His mouth was agape and he couldn't find the words to articulate his new passion for heroes, but he nodded. Then his mother started speaking again. "That hero on the computer right now, he's the Number One hero."

Izuku's eyes somehow widened even further. "C-Can, I will be, a hero like them?" He asked.

Inko focused her gaze on the little Midoriya. "Of course, sweetie, anyone can with a quirk."

Little Izuku lit up. He thought of the dozen possibilities that would become a reality. If he's going to get a quirk, how would he use it for heroism? How will he save people with it? Can it harm villains? Will it be like Kacchan and his quirk?

His mother sighed and tapped his shoulder. "Izuku you're muttering again."

Izuku froze his speech. "Oh, sorry." He scratched his head and looked down. "People at school always think that's a weird habit of mine."

Inko furrowed her brows. "Well, do you want to know what I think they are?" He looked up at her. "I think they're big meanies." She put a hand on his shoulder and stared at him with eyes that withheld honesty. "Don't listen to them Izuku, they're just there to belittle you."

Izuku didn't know what 'belittle' meant, but he understood the don't listen part. He nodded. "A-Alright mom, I won't."

She smiled. "Excellent, would you like some katsudon?" She asked while glancing over to the kitchen counter. "You seem to always like that dish."

He jumped up and down in approval. "Yes, please!"

It's been weeks since Izuku found out about heroes. What seemed to be an overnight fixation turned into admiration. Inko knew Izuku wasn't obsessive about heroes, but for the most part, she could realize he looked up to them.

There were so many situations where Inko and Izuku played hero together. Honestly, Inko found it completely adorable. But what surprised her was the reasoning behind Izuku's longing to be a hero.

"It's because I want to save people with a smile, like All Might!" He once said. Which left Inko shocked. She had heard of kids who genuinely wanted to help people and fight villains, but those who did usually wanted to do so for money, glory, or fame, not for the good of mankind.

She knew part of this behavior was due to how she raised Izuku; to be kind-hearted and compassionate to others who deserve it, but still. Inko hadn't even explained to Izuku what heroes were until a week ago. She knew her kid would grow up to be someone who'd help the world in some way, she just didn't how.

Either way, she decided to support him with all of her beings. Even if he had hiccups along the way.

It was close to being late at night. Inko checked her phone and it was around eight o'clock. Minutes before she would tell Izuku it was his bedtime.

She went into Izuku's room and checked anyways. She wished to see how he was doing. She knew Izuku wasn't reckless or an endanger to himself, but it was her motherly instinct that directed her towards his room.

Walking up to the door and peeking inside, to her, everything appeared to be normal. I guess I shouldn't have worried. Inko thought. He's a smart and responsible child, he should be safe- Inko's thoughts were interrupted as she laid eyes on Izuku, who was sitting at his desk, scribbling things into a notebook.

This caught Inko's attention. What's the writing? She pondered, but as she listened intently, she got her answer.

"Endeavor's quirk is so awesome, I wish I knew how hot his fire can get!" He muttered out as he continued to scribble more notes.

Inko's eyes widened as she started to piece together what Izuku was writing about. He's scribbling something, but I don't know what it is, but he mentioned something about Endeavor's quirk, could he be writing about heroes and their quirks?

Inko knew Izuku was smart. Whatever they taught him at school, he absorbed the information like a sponge. The principal and the staff of the school had deemed him to be a very quick learner, but she didn't know he was one to take notes on things and then proceed to save or update them for later. Most kids his age either liked to draw or play outdoors.

Izuku wasn't different, but he had developed the rare trait of being able to analyze complex information and expand upon it at an early age.

"You're going to grow up to be someone great, I know it Izuku." Inko smiled with pride as she closed the door shut and walked off into the hallway.

It's been several months since Izuku had his discovery about heroes. His knowledge about them and their quirks has grown to ridiculous levels for his age, as he already had several notebooks worth of information on them.

There was a problem though. Izuku had never shown any sort of sign for a quirk, even after he had just turned four. Which Inko questioned because both herself and her husband, Hisashi had quirks. She could attract objects with her hands, and Hisashi was capable of supercharging his body with energy. Izuku would have to end up with either of the two quirks or a mutation of them, at the very least.

But still, there remained no sign of a quirk developing within Izuku, which prompted Inko to take him to the local doctor's clinic, for the doctor to diagnosis the reasoning behind Izuku not developing a quirk.

Izuku was scheduled for an appointment already, as every child needed to go through a quirk diagnosed if their quirk hadn't already appeared. So Inko didn't see a reason not to go.

Upon reaching the office, the doctor had taken well over half an hour to inspect Izuku's DNA and look for any noticeable signs of a quirk. Inko inspected to be informed of Izuku's quirk soon, but she was only to be told-

"Mrs. Midoriya, I hate to break it to you, but your son appears to have no quirk at all." An elderly doctor was admitted.

Inko was appalled. "What do you mean?"

The man cleared his throat. "Sorry for not elaborating. What I'm saying Is that we can't find any sign of a quirk in his DNA."

His explanation didn't satisfy the young mother. "That doesn't make sense, me and his father both have quirks, how is it possible he's quirkless?"

The doctor nodded his head. "Indeed, it doesn't make sense. From a logical standpoint, he should have either or a mixture of both of your quirks, or at the very least some type of quirk, even if it is fundamentally different from his parents, but there's something we found."

Inko's hand gripped the fabric of her skirt. 'What is he talking about?'

The man faced his computer and turned on the screen. "My coworkers and I were baffled when both you and his father had quirks, despite him not showing a sign of having one, so I took a look and found out this." He showed her an X-Ray.

"Is that his joints?" She asked.

He nodded. "They are, and if you noticed there is no sign of an extra toe joint. He should have a quirk by now, yet he doesn't."

"So, shouldn't he have some sort of quirk? Even if it doesn't appear now, shouldn't it appear later on? He could just be a late bloomer, like that one case from a century ago, it's rare, but it's happened before."

The doctor shook his head. "No, this is different. The case from a century ago was a man having a quirk factor, sure. But he had a quirk factor he could use."

Inko put her hand over her mouth. "Are you a serious doctor?" Almost all the blood drained from her face as she realized what he had meant.

He sadly shook his head once again. "Completely, but what this means is that his body does have a quirk factor. The basic genetic code for a quirk. It's just that his body isn't suited for it, and likely never will be."

Inko's blood ran colder than ice. "S-So, he has a mutation?" The doctor didn't even nod and just handed her a box of tissues.

She wiped her tears and left the doctor's office. "Thank you for telling me this, Dr. Garaki." She bowed.

"It's no problem, I'm just doing my job."

She nodded and left the office. How do I tell him this? What good parent would disappoint their child like that? She thought.

She eventually found herself walking towards the lobby she left Izuku in and saw the boy sitting stationary, expecting his surroundings curiously. "Izuku? Can you walk with me outside?"

The boy nodded, innocently. "Ok, but why mom? Is it because of my quirk?"

"You could put it like that." She paused. "Let's go."

They walked out of the doctor's clinic and headed towards their parked car. Inko decided it was best not to sugarcoat anything. "Izuku, do you know what quirkless means?"

He rose his head and paused for a second. "Isn't that when someone doesn't have a superpower?"

Inko managed a depressing smile. "They're called quirks honey. But, you're correct. It's when someone doesn't have an ability of their own." She paused, as her voice started to crack. "I don't know how to say this."

As if Izuku could read her mind he spoke, "Mom, is it something bad?" She hesitantly nodded. "You should tell me."

Inko bit her lip with tears threatening to leak from her eyes. But remained serious. "But what if it upsets you?"

The greenette seemed to think about the possibility for a second. If it upsets me? He furrowed his brows, whenever he did that, he was in deep thought. Although this time he didn't mumble.

"You should still tell me." He spoke. "If it's something bad, you should reveal it, right? It's just like lying." He paused.

Inko looked down. "You're, right."

"If it upsets me then, I'll just tough it out. How can I become a hero if I'm not tough?"

His cinnamon roll attitude made her seriously wonder what this poor boy might've done to not have a quirk.

She grit her teeth. "That's the problem, Izuku. The doctor said that despite having a quirk factor, you're different, you're quirkless."

And for the first time in his life, the world around Izuku stopped.

It was late at night, after riding home quietly from the doctor's visit, Izuku immediately took towards the family computer. It wasn't unusual, sometimes he spent hours on it, watching videos or looking at wikis for information.

Though this time, Inko could hear a video being replayed. Unknowingly to Izuku, she walked into the room.

"HAHAHAHA! Fear not, because I am here!"

It was the same video that led to his discovery of heroes, Inko remembered how cheerful he looked. "I-zuku?" She observed. , didn't

The video continued to play. "He's already saved over a hundred people, and he's still rescuing more?"

"M-Mom." Inko couldn't ignore the cracks in his voice. "C-Can, I become a hero, without a quirk?" He started to shake. "C-Can, I save people like him? E-Even though I'm w-worthless." He turned to face her, and tears were practically dripping down his eyes and onto his shorts.

"C-Can, I save people like he c-can?"

Inko couldn't stop herself and she ran towards Izuku, embracing him tightly. "You're not worthless." She spoke. "I believe you can be the greatest hero."

Izuku finally let the sobs out.

It had been a full twelve hours since Midoriya Izuku had been announced quirkless, and it had been a quiet day for him. Birds weren't chirping but the sun was at least shining. Overall, it seemed like a good day.

Well, a good day to anyone other than him.

The ride to school had been silent between the mother and son, neither opting to exchange a word or enter a conversation.

Izuku liked it that way, he didn't want to talk.

The ride went on without any interruption between the two. When they reached his kindergarten, Inko dropped him off.

This time she spoke. "I love you Izuku, see you later." Izuku could tell the smile was strained, his instincts told him his mother was in a lot of pain as well, but the love from her voice was real.

He gave her a soft smile and nodded. After that, he headed into his classroom.

It was bustling with activity as children were reading books, drawing pictures, and some even playing with their quirks.

Quirks. The child thought.

It had been less than a day since he had received the shocking news. If it wasn't for the deep pit in his gut, he would've forgotten he wouldn't be getting his.

Finally, the teacher came in. "Alright class, settle down." The group of kids grew quiet. "Who wants to share what they did over the weekend."

One student raised her hand. "Ooh! I do, my quirk awakened." Her finger lit with a small fire. The class started intensely at the display with awe. "It's pretty cool, isn't it?" The young girl asked.

The teacher nodded her head. "Indeed, it seems like a quirk with potential." She gazed over the other students. "Anybody else?"

Besides one kid who also had a quirk awakening, spoiler alert, he could grow his fingers, no one opted to share their experiences at all. Although, there was an exception.

"Hey, I have a suggestion." A spiky blonde kid with messy hair called out. "Deku, how about you share what you did for the weekend? Did you awaken your quirk? I bet it isn't as awesome as mine." He gloated.

"Now, now, Bakugou, settle down. I'm sure Midoriya here was waiting for his turn, but it seems as if you've riled up the whole class." She looked over the group of four and five-year old's, each staring at Izuku for anticipation. "Say, Midoriya, why don't you share your experience?"

Izuku started to sweat. He felt pressured by all the various gazes thrown onto him. Even the teacher was staring at him with a curious expression on her face.

He finally found the courage to speak up. "I went to the doctor, but that's it."

"Was it a quirk doctor?" One of the kids named Yubi asked. "If you went to the quirk doctor why don't you tell us what quirk you have?"

He couldn't find it in himself to lie to his classmates like this. Lying is bad. The words repeated in his head. So, he told them the truth. "Yeah, I went to the quirk doctor, but he said I..." He stopped for a few seconds.

Katsuki grew impatient. "He said, what? Speak up, nerd!" He yelled.

Izuku swallowed the bile coming up his throat and spoke.

"He told me I'm Quirkless."

For the first time in his life, Izuku regretted telling the truth.

"Kacchan, don't do this!"

Izuku was only met with a scowl and then an explosion upon uttering his words.

"Don't address me so casually you hero wannabe. You're nothing but a fanboy!" Katsuki blasted him with another explosion. "Come on extras. I don't wanna be around useless Deku anymore."

The lackey's followed him while Izuku just remained on the ground.

His whole body burned from the explosions Katsuki delivered to his body. The quirk-induced hits didn't pack much force, but their temperature wasn't something to scoff at.

'Why is the world so unfair?' He just wondered why? Why was the world doing this to him? It was his attempt at ignoring the pain.

It was like the moment he announced his quirklessness to the world, it wanted to come after him.

Even the person he had saved was already long gone. Not even a 'thank you or 'are you okay?' He figured the boy was just too scared to have the time to show gratitude.

He remained in the same position for minutes on end until it started to rain. But even then, Izuku didn't want to budge. Izuku didn't care. The rain was the only thing that hid his tears and sobs that were coming out of his throat.

Izuku was weak, he knew that. He was well aware that the world wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. This is just how society functioned.

But still, for the life of him, he couldn't understand why the world was being so unjust to him.

The tears were starting to overwhelm him as he struggled to hold back all of his sobs. How could he be a hero when he was this weak?

This would be the first lesson he learned on his journey of becoming a hero. His first and last setback.

All men are not created to be equal.

Authors notes.

If you are reading this, I would like to thank you. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this, I appreciate it. It may not be perfect, or even what many would deem *quality* writing, but I put my heart and soul into writing this for months. But I'm not finished.

I would also like to add that this is sort of a recreation of my first ever fanfiction on this site, My Hero. I promise that the fic won't be discontinued, but now I'm shifting my attention to this work. Maybe someday I'll add another chapter to that fic, but for now, it's probably on hiatus until I finish chapter 9.

I also bring news on my second fic, Hero A; it is in a similar situation to the former fic, but ultimately, I am not recreating it. Moreover, I'm rewriting the existing chapters and updating the chapters within the fic.

But finally, I will get to the juicy stuff; what this fic is. The answer to that is a recreation of my first fic, as I've explained above, but with improved grammar, and an entirely different setting. One of the first-ever reviews I received for My Hero criticized it for how rushed the relationship between Izuku and Melissa is. After looking back at the story, and the review, I have concluded that the user who stated this is 100% correct!

Some of the chapters had good concepts but mostly were terrible in execution. I am not insulting my own writing or doubting it, I just think I could do better. I would also like to clarify some things about where this fic is headed.

Firstly, Izuku is to not be receiving One for All. He's going to have his own quirk that will be revealed in later chapters. But this isn't to say One for All is going to be passed onto someone, that's never happening. I'm planning on making the nature of Izuku's quirk and One for All very interesting, as they'll be connected. That's all I'll tease for now.

Secondly, Izuku and Melissa's relationship probably won't enter romantic territory until the 50th chapter, maybe even slightly less than that. You could consider this fic a slow-burn I guess. Look, I don't like fics where the characters fall in love with each other at first sight or fiction in general. It's kind of unrealistic unless done right. And I can't do that type of development right, simple as that. It'll also probably take even longer to introduce any M-rating elements into their relationship or the fic. Maybe a dozen or so chapters after the 50th chapter? Truly, I'm not sure.

Thirdly, any errors I make on any of the chapters, even including the first one will probably be fixed if I realize that is a necessity. If this first chapter is met with mostly positive feedback, I won't change much. If the opposite happens? I probably will. I am very open to criticism as long as it's respectful and from an individual who's good at it.

And finally, this fic does not have a fixed update/chapter posting schedule. I will post a chapter whenever I feel like posting one. A chapter could come a week after the previous one, while others would take a month or even several. To make my point concise and clear; don't expect a consistent stream of chapters. This is what happened with my two fics, I promised I'd update weekly, and I haven't updated either of them in months. I'd suggest to everyone that you won't get your hopes up for this one either.

That is all I will say for this chapter. To those of you who favorited or even followed the story, thank you so much. I don't ask for favorites or follows, but when I receive them for my fics, it lets me know there are at least some people who appreciate and enjoy my writing. Anyways, I'll see everyone next chapter!
