Author's Note:

Here it is, the start of the Hoenn region. I have a lot of stuff planned for this region as it is my favourite in the series. Just like with Johto, I have gone over my plan for this arc time and time again. So, I hope it turns out how I picture it.

WARNING: NEXT PARAGRAPH CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS FOR HOENN, DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SPOILERS!

Just like in Johto, expect at least one death at some point. You should already know how dark I like to get at times, and I don't plan on stopping that any time soon. Just like before, we'll be seeing several dark themes, such as: favouritism (and its effects on those around it), cheating, unrequited love, vengeance, homophobia and more. On note of that last point, I started introducing LGBTQ+ characters in the later part of Johto. I plan on expanding and growing this through Hoenn and beyond. Of course, starting with the denial arc I have Hitmontop staring in. Of course, we have the arrival of both May and Max. I will say right now, I have quite the arc planned for May. Nearly everything will be controversial, but she will stay as her anime counterpart. I also have some major issues with Max in the anime, I plan on changing him to a more likeable character who actually develops. I have some big plans for the little guy but early on, he will seem like the same one from the anime. This is so I can show his growth as a character. Speaking of the characters, I have nice teams planned out for each of them. Hoenn has a nice selection to choose from so hopefully we get to see a wider variety than the common choices given in Johto. A lot of the Pokémon people have asked about certain characters getting, not all of these are possible but know Hoenn houses my favourite collection from any region, so hopefully that's reassurance that the lines up have been carefully considered.

THE SPOILERS SECTION IS OVER NOW!

As mentioned before, Kanto was me finding my feet and OI was where I found a suitable style. Johto I learnt more writing techniques to make the chapters even better. So, I look forward to see what I get through this arc.

Onto the polls, the changing it every ten chapters has worked out great so far, so I plan to continue it, a nice way to give enough people a chance to vote. So, the new poll concerns the arcs in the series so long, not counting the battling arcs, I want to see which is everyone's favourites and if you want to expand on why, then reviews or PM. This author's note is getting long so I guess it is time we get on with the actual chapter.

Onto this first chapter, it is a simple middle ground between sending our hero's off to Hoenn and meeting the new companion(s). Nothing real special with it other than the start of a new that, let's get on with it.

Chapter one: A Fresh Start

Ash came to a stop, his arm swinging as Serena rocked back and forth, her head resting on his shoulder. They had since made it to her house in Pallet and were now come to the point where they must part. Turning towards her, he didn't want to let go but her knew that he had to. He took a heavy sigh.

"I guess this is it," he spoke.

"Don't be like that, Ashy," she reassured, wrapping her arms around his neck. She pecked his lips a couple times, "I mean, we're still going to meet up at the party tomorrow that Professor Oak is playing, and we even have each other's Pokegear number if we miss each other that much beforehand."

"Yeah, I know," he smiled, leaning into her embrace, "it just feels weird. Wrong even. After spending so much time together, having to go to separate houses."

"Well... when we're older," she whispered, "we'll have our own house."

He blushed at the thought, having not really considered what they'd do as they reach adult hood. Hearing her giggle, warmed his body. With one last major hug from them both, he released his grip on her.

"I guess this is goodbye," he sighed, "see ya tomorrow at the lab?"

"I wouldn't miss it," she smiled.

With one last kiss shared, he broke off and began walking down the path towards his own home, Pikachu riding on his shoulder. Looking back, he saw her still stood outside with Sylveon by her side. She gave a small wave and he returned it turning back, he entered a quick run. Before getting to close, however, he came to a stop and pulled out three Pokéballs. One after another, his Pidgeot, Charizard and Dragonite appeared in front of him.

"Hey guys, I'm almost home. We've got the party tomorrow at the lab but your all a bit big for the house," he explained, "so I thought you'd be more comfortable at the lab. I'll be seeing you tomorrow, however, so don't worry."

Dragonite and Charizard both nodded in agreement and quickly took off towards the ranch. With a powerful gust of wind trailing behind, he had to hold onto his cap to stop it being blown off. His large female bird waited a moment longer before kicking off the ground and disappearing in the sky.

As he came up on his old house, where Pidgeot was roosting on the roof. Guess he forgot his dad had that installed for some of his large flying types. He was surprised to find his brother stood outside, Marowak by his feet. Slowing his run, he came to a stop just in front of him. Only slightly winded, he was regaining his breath as his twin stepped forward.

"I see you finally made it," he smirked, "just gonna give ya a fair warning."

"Fair warning about what?" Ash asked.

"Aunt Yellow is here," he explained, "she wanted to, and I quote 'see my two favourite nephew's after they worked so hard in the silver conference'."

"...oh," he gulped. Not too thrilled at the thought of seeing her here. He does love his aunt but after what happened with Silver and that whole mess, he wasn't exactly jumping at the chance to see her. He never was one good at keeping secrets, especially in person.

"Yeah," his brother replied, "so... are you gonna tell her?"

"I-I don't know," he stuttered, "what do you think?"

"You spent the most time with Silver, so I think it's your choice. I'll back whichever play you go with," he explained, "but if the shoes were on the other foot. I think I'd tell her. Get it out of the way. She has a right to know about her son, after all."

"I-I guess... I guess we'll tell her then," he stuttered, taking a deep breath to calm his nerves. Receiving a nod from his brother, they headed inside.

Pushing the door open, he stepped in and took in the familiar scent of his mother's cooking. Brock is an amazing cook, and he has done wonder's teaching both himself and Serena the tricks he knew but there was always something special about his mum's food. Maybe because he has it less when on the road.

Kicking his shoes off and sliding his backpack down his arms, he flung both of them under the coat rack next to the door. Pikachu leaped off his shoulder and ran into the next room where a general chatter could be heard. Seeing his brother stand next to him, he took a deep breath as the front door closed. Walking forward, he entered the lounge.

He noticed the television was on but seemed to be muted, it was some sort of league battle, but he didn't recognising either trainer. In the room, his dad was sat on the arm and most invested in the battle. His mum could be seen in the kitchen on the far side with Mimey, cooking something. While Yellow was sat on the sofa, Pikachu on her lap as she slowly petted his head in a soothing manner. The real surprise came from the one sat on the opposite end of the couch; his uncle Green was just as invested in the battle as his dad. None of them even seemed to notice that they re-entered the room.

"This is always my favourite part," his dad smirked.

Turning towards the screen, he saw the battle was between a Venusaur and Blastoise, although neither trainer could be made out. Despite having the water type restrained with several large vines, he was able to redirect his canons and blast the opponent with a powerful ice beam. Ending the match.

"Hey aunt Yellow," he turned his attention to the nearest person, as he properly entered the room. She offered a soft, small smile and reached over for a hug.

Returning the gesture, he sighed and looked towards Drake. He simply nodded and soon the greeting embrace was over.

"Congratulations Ash, on making it to the finals," she smiled, "you did great out there."

"Ya sure did, scamp!" his uncle added, stand up in the process. He an affectionate whack on the shoulder, causing Ash to stumble slight. His Uncle wrapped an arm around his shoulder and held him in a sort of half-hug. He was not quick as soft spoken or shy as his aunt.

"Thanks," he chuckled nervously.

"It took your old man until he was sixteen to reach a league final," his uncle laughed.

"Hehehe," he chuckled nervously.

Taking a seat on the floor opposite the adults. The conversation continued as it was revealed that the battle was one between his Uncle Green and Gary's dad, Blue, when both of them were running for the champion title of Kanto. His aunt wasn't interested in the battle, instead focusing her attention on Pikachu. He continued to sit mostly in silent, as he watch the long-haired aunt play with his starter, who seemed content with her attention.

A quick glance at Drake and his brother gave him a look which easily translated to a reminder. Sighing he slowly approached her and kneeled next to them, scratching the top of Pikachu's head.

"He really is a playful and his coat is beauty Ash," she smiled, "you've taken really good care of him."

"Thanks," Ash replied, "I owe a lot of that to Brock. He helped me and Serena a lot early on our adventure... but erm, aunt Yellow, I-I've got something to tell you."

"What is it, Ash?" she asked, as his twin brother moved to stand beside him. He also saw both his dad and Uncle turning to listen in.

"I-it's about your son," he replied, "w-we met him in Johto."

"B-but, how could you?" she asked, stuttering, "I-I mean. His name was changed. None of us knew what it was."

"W-well, he had a name he picked. It was after a landmark in the region," he explained, "b-but he had tried to find out where he came from and came to two dead ends. One being warning of ties to team rocket and them being the reason he was in the orphanage system."

"I hate to say it Ash, but that doesn't really prove anything," his dad stood up, approaching them, "I doubt there's only one kid made an orphan because of team rocket. The chances that-"

"Then their the second thing he found," Ash raised a voice, "a letter to the orphanage. Explaining how he'd get moved around every few months. Signed by you, dad. It was him."

An awkward silence filled the room as Uncle Green took his leave. His aunt Yellow was looking down, with tears rolling down her cheek. He felt horrible or making her cry, but it didn't feel right, keeping it secret from her. He cast a glance up to his dad, who stood tall over them with his arms crossed, a thoughtful expression on his face.

"I... suppose," he paused, "I mean, with Giovanni behind bars. There isn't a reason to keep him separate now."

"Where is he?" Aunt Yellow asked, barely above a whisper.

"Huh?" Ash replied, turning towards her.

"Where is my son?" she repeated, a little louder.

"W-well... his name, or rather, the name he picked. It was Silver," he explained, chancing a glance at his dad. His eyes went wide, and his hand covered his mouth. No doubt he heard all about what went down in Goldenrod, "a-and..."

She looked up at him with wide, wet eyes. The skin around her eyes bunched. Her pupils fuzzed by tears and her bottom lip quivering. With each second draining more colour from her face.

"I-I'm sorry aunt Yellow," Ash whispered.

Standing up in a rush, Pikachu, jumped down onto the floor as she bolted out of the door with sobs echoing in the house. The door slammed shut behind her as the tension filled the room. He felt his brother place a hand on his shoulder, as he glanced down to his starter, who looked up with sympathy. A cough drew his attention.

"Ash," his father sighed, "when did you meet Silver?"

"Originally?" Ash asked, "in Violet city before the first gym. But we kept running into each other throughout Johto... he even travelled with us for a bit."

"He did?" Red asked.

"After he learnt my surname was Ketchum. Since the name on the forum was yours," he explained, "he wanted to learn where he came from."

"I've heard what he did," he turned his back, "ninety-eight people. They may have been team rocket, but he still killed that many."

"Actually, those are only the ones Lance and the others could prove," Drake spoke up, "it's closer to three-hundred."

"How do you know that?" Ash asked.

"I discovered what he did at the slowpoke well," Drake replied, "why wouldn't I research all I could about him after that point."

"Okay," their dad sighed, "what am I going to do with you two? I get why you told her, but you should've come to me to start with. Your mother and I could've set up a proper place to reveal it to her. Gently. You had good intentions, boys, but if not properly thought out, those intentions can have disastrous consequences."

Ash felt like a massive jerk right now. Back in Johto, he wanted to keep Silver as far away from his family and that lead to the worst battle, he ever partook in. Then his cousin let those bottled up emotions turn dark and because of that, he isn't here right now. He thought telling her was the right move, after what keeping secrets did to the red-haired man but clearly it hit her just as hard.

"Why don't you two go and eat," he suggested, walking towards the door.

Following his twin into the kitchen, he noticed Mimey setting out two plates of food on the table. Their mother no-where to be seen. Guess she must've headed off towards her sister after she ran out in tears.

Waiting until her boyfriend disappeared down the path, she turned towards the front door. Walking down the short garden path, she saw her mother's Rhyhorn lying on the grassy field. His eyes slightly opened, and he gave a soft smile at her, not getting up from the relaxed position. He always was a big softy, but due to his age, she couldn't blame him for not getting up. She kneeled down next to him and scratched the top of his head.

"Hey there," she smiled, "I've missed you, Rhyhorn."

The rock ground type cooed under touch but didn't get up much, only stirring slightly. While she initially blamed him for all those times, he chucked her around during training, she came to learn he was just following her mother's instructions. It might sound weird but with Colress out of the picture, he was probably the closest she had to a father figure. Even being protective of her when she first showed signs of a crush on Ash... why else would he be so much harsher on him when attempting to Rhyhorn ride when they were kids? Even though it resulted in him breaking his arm, the spikes Pokémon did show remorse, and all was forgiven by her boyfriend. It also resulted in her spending a lot of time with him while he recovered so she might not have been as mad as she should've.

Standing up, a smile crossed her lips as she remembered those days they spent together and how close they grew over the years besides that. Walking across the path, she reached the door and pulled the handle down to step inside.

It was exactly how she remembered it. The hall was a large corridor stretching down to the back door, with a staircase to the right. Glancing to the left, the closest door was open, to reveal her mother sat in the living room. She appeared to be watching a Rhyhorn race on television, with a cup of tea. As their eyes locked, she smiled and placed the beverage down on the centre table. Kicking her shoes off, she walked into the room and embraced her with a hug.

"Serena dear, what are you doing here?" she asked, returning the gesture, "I told you to call and let me know when you landed. I would've come and met you."

"You did... but it doesn't take long to walk between Viridian and Pallet," she replied, "besides, Ash walked me here. It was completely safe."

"Maybe," her mother sighed, "but it wasn't just about you being safe. I know you've done far more dangerous things on your journey."

"So, what's the big deal?" she asked, as the embrace ended.

"My daughter was coming home, and I wanted to greet her properly," Grace shook her head, "and I was starting to worry something happened on your flight."

"It was completely safe," she rolled her eyes.

"I doubt that, I know you love Ash, but he isn't a professional flying rider or has proper harnesses for his Pokémon," Grace placed her hands on her hips, "but what's done is done. Nothing I can do to change it now, come on, sit down. Tell me about your Johto journey's."

"It's not that big of deal," she shrugged, following the lead, and taking a seat on the sofa, as her mother sat back in the armchair, "it was just the usual."

"You are now a top coordinator," Grace quirked her eyebrow up, "so don't 'it was just the usual' me."

"Fine," she sighed, a smile on her face, "so what do you want to know?"

"I watched all your contests on television, and I've met your Pokémon at the lab," Grace explained, "so why not start with what I wouldn't know from those two things."

"Well I when we first got to Johto, we met some new trainers when they were starting their journey," she explained, "Marina, Jimmy and Vincent. And I became quick friends with Marina. She has a great taste in fashion and was also a coordinator."

"I believe you mentioned her once or twice," Grace smiled, "blue hair? Had a Croconaw?"

"Yeah, that's her," Serena smiled, "unfortunately, she won't be going to Hoenn with us, but we'll be keeping in touch."

"So, did you meet anyone else?" she asked, "make any more friends? Other than your Pokémon, of course."

"Oh, speaking of my Pokémon," her eye lit up, using a small amount of ESP to lift her vary of Pokéballs up in a row, "can I?"

"Yes," she shook her head, a smile on her face, "as long as none of them are massive and will destroy the ceiling."

"No... no, none of them are that big," she smiled, "I think only Ash has a Pokémon that big."

With a flick of a wrist, one by one her team materialised. Sylveon was the first to appear, who leaped up onto the sofa next to her. Murkrow was second who landed on the table. She looked around and quickly took off, perching on the curtain rail over the window. Quilava appeared next and quickly took off on a run around the house, ready to explore. Pupitar landed on the floor, quickly leaping into her lap. Using a little ESP to soften his blow, he settled in her embrace. As the Pokéballs fell onto the floor, a mareepish grin on her rock skin Pokémon's face. Ampharos popped out and quickly began picking up the devices, placing them in her backpack with a friendly smile. Quagsire and Hitmontop popped out at the same time as the electric type finished cleaning up.

"Huh, so this is your old gaf?" the fighting type asked through her ESP, "not bad... is that Rhyhorn you mentioned here? I wanna hit something that will fight back."

"He's resting right now, and isn't much of a battler," she mentally replied, "just relax. Explore. This is your first time here."

Disgruntled, the pure fighting type nodded and walked off. She caught him casting a nasty glare at Sylveon, who didn't seemed the least bit bothered. While she knew the smug look her fairy type gave just angered the handstand Pokémon, she had to admit she was good at handling the angry mon. Turning her attention towards her mother once more, she saw Quagsire had taken up a spot on her lap... much to her surprise.

"Yes, it is nice to see you again," her mother chuckled, stroking his large, bold head.

"You two know each other?" she asked.

"I did tell you I've visited the lab and your Pokémon from time to time," Grace smiled, "and this little guy is certainly one of your sweetest Pokémon. He even tried to learn Rhyhorn racing, how couldn't I fall in love with him?"

Smiling at the pleased expression on her water ground types face, she knew he was one to be pampered. Never standing out for his commitment in battles or contests, he did always try his best. Clearly, he just enjoys the attention from such things. The wide proud smile showed that.

"So, you was saying dear?" her mother asked, "did you meet anyone else on your travels? Friends? Rivals?"

"Well..." she rolled out the last letter, as something popped in her mind. She knew she should bring it up at some point, but it wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do so. Knowing she wouldn't get a better opportunity, she took a hard swallow, "I-I did meet someone... I met dad."

Grace's expression changed, the pleasant smile fell and stretched her lower face. Her eyes widened and locked with Serena's own, "what do you mean?"

"A-after the radio tower, b-but before the conference," she stuttered, "we ran into the legendary Pokémon, Celebi. It was through the GS ball Professor Oak gave us. Celebi is a time traveller, able to jump from one place to another. It explained we'd be working together in the future but to get us to trust it before, he took each of us to a time of our choosing."

"And you picked a chance to meet your father?" Grace asked.

"No... well yes, sort of," Serena stumbled as she tried to find a proper way to explain, "you see, Celebi is part psychic type. It didn't ask out right where to go, just sort of read our thoughts and based it on that. I-I know you told me what he did and why you moved us to Kanto."

"Did he hurt you?" she asked, jumping to her feet. Quagsire sliding onto the floor. Her fist was tightly held closed, her knuckle turned pure white as it shook in anger, "if he did, I'll-"

"N-no he didn't," she replied, "I mean... He tried. He saw my ESP and wanted to run tests. When I pointed out I wouldn't be staying, he got mad. Tried to use his Pokémon to force me to stay but Beedrill and the others defeated them and Celebi brought me back."

"Oh Serena," she cried, taking a seat next to her, forcing Sylveon to move. She embraced her in a hug, which she returned, "I-I'm just glad your safe."

They reminded in silent during the embrace, as she felt her mother's warmth expand over her. The sounds from the television being the only source of sound, along with a slight ruckus from her Pokémon. Pupitar shuffled slightly, probably to get them to part.

"You are safe, right?" she asked.

"Yes mum, he didn't touch me," she sighed, "and I won't be seeing him any other time."

"I'm sorry," she cried, "I should've been able to-"

"You've got nothing to be sorry for," Serena reassured, "my curiosity just got the better of me."

"We you two have that in common," she rolled her eyes, "but enough about that. What else can you tell me about your journey."

"Well... you know I won the grand festival," she explained.

"Yes," Grace smiled, "how could I forget my little girl became a top coordinator?"

"During the grand festival, there was a special judge who were there to promote showcases which are opening up in several regions," she explained, "like here in Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh."

"I think I see where this is going," she smiled, "I'm guessing these showcases are what you'll be doing whilst in Hoenn."

"Yeah..." she muttered, "aren't you mad I am stopping contests?"

"Serena, you won a grand festival. You aren't giving up on them, you completed that part of your life," she explained, "sure, I stayed on Rhyhorn racing for a consecutive five seasons."

"I know, I've seen your trophy case," Serena smiled.

"My point is, I was tempted after season to call it in and move on," she explained, "sports teams from different areas were offering positions in the squads but for me, I loved racing."

"So why did you stop?" she asked.

"Before the sixth season started, I received some news," she explained, "a little girl had found her way into my stomach. And I wasn't going to do anything to risk her safety. Not in the slightest."

"Mum," she replied, embracing her in a hug.

"The reason I would get mad when you were younger and gave up on what you tried was because you never really gave it a fair chance," she explained, returning the gesture, "some people are meant to jump around from activity to activity. It helps you explore a larger part of the world and discover who you truly are. As long as you give it your all, and a fair shot. I couldn't ask for more from you."

Each of them ended the embrace and the conversations continued into the night. All about Johto, how Serena got to meet her team and even some funny stories. She might've skipped over some of the more dangerous adventures they partook in, however. Despite originally having a difficult relationship with her mother, Serena has to admit that right now they couldn't be closer and seem to finally understand one another.

Ash stood around at the top of a hill, a single rock with a circle carved into the grass surrounding it was placed next to him, with his less than sociable ground type hacking away. He smiled as he glanced down over the ranch.

People from all over Pallet had come to celebrate their achievements whilst in the Johto region. All enjoying the food and beverages laid out by the Professor, who was kind enough to organise. All their Pokémon were enjoying the festivities. He saw Pidgeot, flying around and even offering lifts to small children, while his other free flying types seemed on edge, ready to catch them if something went wrong. Over by the lake, all the water types seemed to be having a water fight, perfect for a hot summer day, with the two teams lead by his Blastoise and Serena's Kingdra, respectively. It appeared to be waters stuck in the water against those on land. Venusaur had a group of guards, who he learnt were like the ambassadors and peacekeepers at the ranch, keeping everything in order.

Glancing to the one Pokémon not socialising, Sandslash. He sighed and took a seat next to him.

Drake had refused, point blank to take part in the party, instead spending his day researching Unova. Leaf had completed her second regional Pokedex and was on track to starting a guidebook about her achievement. Gary placed a top eight placement in the Silver conference and was becoming a research assistant for his grandfather. Serena won her grand festival, became a top coordinator and was preparing to become the first Hoenn showcase queen... and he made it to the second place in the Silver conference. Normally that achievement would have him over the moon but the fact he lost to Paul... sours the taste.

"Hey!" an angelic voice called out. Turning towards the source, he saw Serena approach and plopping down next to him, "whatcha doing up here?"

"Just taking a break, ya know," he shrugged, "only so many times you can answer the same questions. And didn't want Sandslash to feel left out."

"If you're staying her for me then don't," Sandslash growled, "I'm not one of those runts that needs their hand holding."

"You sure know how to make us feel welcome," Ash sighed, shaking his head with a smile on his face, "ya know that."

"Guess that means your free," she stood, grabbing his hand, and trying to pull him to his feet, "with some of the crowd starting to leave, the Professor asked to see us. I think he has something to ask us about our plans for going to Hoenn."

"Alright, alight," he chuckled at his girlfriend's overzealousness, standing back up.

Being pulled along by her, he soon found himself inside the actual lab. A few Pokémon were scattered around but none of them really paid much attention to them. Soon they were in the downstairs lounge where Professor Oak was stood with his granddaughter, Daisy.

"I hope you both enjoyed this little do," Daisy smiled, "you both achieved a lot during Johto and deserve the recognition."

"Thank you," Ash replied, at the same time as Serena.

"Well, now the reason I asked you both to meet us in here," the Professor stepped forward, "it is my understanding that you're going to Hoenn next."

"Right," Serena smiled.

"I will get to the point then," he smiled, "I have a colleague over in that region, another regional Professor. Professor Birch from Littleroot town. And he specialises in Pokémon habitats and migrant patterns. But along with his research, he has duties to give out starters to new trainers."

"Of course," he nodded in agreement.

"So, he called me up to tell me had a new group of trainers about to start their journey, including his own son," Professor Oak explained, "and as fans of the leagues. They watched the multiple conference including the Silver conference. So, Professor Birch asked if you'd be willing to go and see them off, Ash, as one of the finalists. It would make for a fun start to their adventures."

"I erm, I mean," he stuttered, "yeah. I'm fine with that. I mean, if you are, Serena."

"I'm fine with it too, we need to start our Hoenn adventure somewhere and Littleroot sounds as good as anywhere," she smiled.

"Good, I expected no less from you too," the Professor smiled. His granddaughter stepped forward and held out two pieces of paper. Each taking one, they noticed these were some sort of ticket printed, "as a thank you, we've covered your expense travel to the region. Due to the time differences you'll be leaving here tomorrow later than your landing time in Hoenn. There is one slight issue, though."

"P-plane?" Ash asked.

"What's that?" Serena asked.

"Hoenn only has one airport for international travel. Due to half of the region covered by water, its bigger of sea-travel than any other," Daisy explained, "so your plane will drop you off at Lilycove City and you'll need to make your own way towards Littleroot. It's not a difficult flight, by any means and with the correct guidance we believe Pidgeot or any of the others would be able to make the journey with time to spare."

"That shouldn't be a problem then," Serena smiled, "but we should go and speak to our Pokémon. Let them know what's going on."

"Of course," Professor Oak smiled, "and if you'd like, tell me which teams you plan on taking with you. I'll have them ready for tomorrow morning and we'll have a ride ready to take you to Vermillion sea-port airfield. That's where your due to take off from."

"Thank you, Professor," she smiled and bowed. He felt a sharp pain in his side from her elbow, snapping him back to reality.

"Y-yeah, thanks," he stuttered as she pulled him out of the room.

"Are you alright, Ash?" his honey-blonde girlfriend asked, "you seemed to zone out there towards the end."

"O-of course I'm f-fine," he stuttered, "I mean... why wouldn't I be? Okay, well... No but... your gonna think I'm an idiot."

"Oh Ashy... you've done plenty of stuff that make me think that," she admitted, embracing him in a hug and pecking his lips, "but your my idiot. So just tell me, okay."

"W-well... it's just that," he took a deep breath, "I-I've never flown in an airplane. G-guess I'm a little nervous about it."

She pecked his cheek, not loosening her embrace as she nuzzled her cheek against his, "it's alright to be nervous, Ash. Everyone has something they are scared off but flying in a plane? I mean, you've flown on Pidgeot, Dragonite, Aerodactyl and Charizard. You've never hesitated with any of them."

"It's different with them," he sighed, "I mean. They were born to fly, and I know them. It's easy to trust them and I've seen them fly. Especially Pidgeot, she loves to do all those tricks and stunts. Always pushing herself."

"So, it's because you don't trust the pilot?" she asked, "or the people that built the plane?"

"No, no," he shook his head, "I'm sure they are all trained and safe and-"

"I think I get it," she chuckled lightly.

"What?" he asked.

"Ash, your no stranger to taking on dangerous situations or running in headfirst," she explained, "and I know for a fact that you don't always think everything through or even have a plan. But your always in the driving seat so you can't let fear set in."

"And how does that relate to flying?" he asked.

"Because it's the one dangerous situation that you can't control," she explained, "but that's okay. Completely fine. Do you know why?"

"Why?" he asked.

"Because running into a dangerous situation with no control is exactly what I do," she replied, "and I am fine, I might be scared but I get over."

"And how do you do that?" he asked.

"I do that, because I have you by my side," she explained, "so when we take this flight, I will be right beside you. Ready to take this challenge head on with you." She smiled and pecked his lips once more, adding in a wink, "and if it makes you feel better, you could bring Pidgeot... as a just in case, thing."

Pecking his lips once more, she loosened her embrace and pulled him along. His feet stumbled upon each other as he struggled to keep up.

They soon made it outside to see most of the crowd had disappeared, with only their friends remaining who were cleaning up. Meeting Venusaur as the door, he joined them on the journey up towards the lake where a lot of their water bound Pokémon. Solar energy gathering at his plant as they walked.

As they reached the lake, he launched a powerful beam of grass type energy into the sky. With it exploding like a firework in the sky. A large ruckus echoed from all around them as the ground violently shaking. Looking around he saw different groups of Pokémon running or flying towards them, along with the water types who grouped together at the lakes edge. Soon they were surrounded by all their Pokémon combined, in one massive

"Hey guys," he smiled, standing back with Serena, as they formed one large group in front of them, "so obviously we're getting ready to set off."

"And part of that is deciding what sort of teams we're going to be taking with us," Serena explained, "we want you each to know that we didn't make our decisions easily either."

"For me, I know I tried to let as many of you in on gym battles as possible but I don't think that will be possible going forward," he explained, "and I don't want your experience to pull us through like it did in many of the Johto gyms. I want the new guys we meet to use them as benchmarks, use them to properly push themselves. Maybe then there won't be as large of a gap between your experience levels."

A series of groans echoed from the group.

"But that doesn't mean I'll just be forgetting you, either," he added, "we'll need to give it our all for the league. And after coming so close, I know all of you want another shot at it. So, I guess, keep up your training here and with Pikachu's help, we'll get the new guys up to the same level. And we'll win the Hoenn league. Together, nothing will be able to stand in our way."

A series of cheers followed. Flames and water gets shot into the air to emphasis the cheers.

"And besides that, we'll be calling on you if we need the help," Ash smiled, turning towards his large normal flying type, "speaking off, Pidgeot, we kinda need to quickly travel over the region after we arrive. Would you be alright flying us over there."?

"Flying over a region I've never been to, towards a place I've also never seen with who knows how many threats ready to attack and defend their territories which we might pass through without knowing?" she stepped forward, listing off, "one question, which of you will be reading the map?"

"I'll be," Serena answered, he guessed she'd used her ESP to read Pidgeot's thoughts.

"Then I think we'll be fine," the female bird smirked.

"I feel like I should be insulted," Ash added.

"You probably should," Pikachu added, scuttering up his body and resting on the shoulder, "but then again, your sense of direction is horrible."

"Geez, thanks," he muttered, turning his attention back to the others, "as one final thing, from me, I'll be taking Phanpy and Granbull as well. They are both new to the team and so should be treated the same as those we find in the Hoenn."

"And as for what I've decided," she added, "it's mostly the same. Taking Murkrow and Hitmontop as the two newest team members, and Sylveon to help with keeping the new guys in line. But I think I'll be calling on help a little more often with the showcases, a lot of your already of pre-choreographed performances and that sort of experience can't go to waste."

A second set of cheers could be heard, however, not nearly as boisterous as before.

"Finally, obviously the new guys will be coming to the lab from time to time, so let's just make them feel welcome," Serena added, "your all the best friends either of us could ask for and we look forward to expanding that friends list even more."

With a series of cheers, the group soon enveloped them with a massive array of hugs and other shows of affection. They spent the rest of the afternoon just hanging out with the team, cleaning up the remainder of the party and just having a good time but as the sun began to set, they set off for home, leaving the professor a list of the Pokémon they planned to take in the morning. Once home, they packed ready for their new adventure.

The next morning, Ash stood outside the laboratory gate with his parents and brother. He was stood off to the side, waiting for Serena to arrive with her mother. It was still early morning, but they had to drive over to Vermillion to catch their respected flights.

As he looked down the dirt path, he breath stuck in his throat. Running towards him was his honey-blonde girlfriend in her new Hoenn attire. Her medium length hair barely fell to her shoulders and was covered by a cap in a similar style to his own, however it was green on the front and white on the back, a yellow star shooting across the green face, and a black bill sticking out. Her golden glasses framed her cerulean eyes beautifully. A single blue ribbon was tied around her neck in a bow. Her shirt was golden and short sleeved, with a darker shade used for the rims and stopped just above her belly button, leaving her stomach on show. Green denim shorts barely covered her top thighs, leaving her long, silky smooth legs on display, as a pair of black suspenders. It was almost amusing how similar her out seemed to match Misty's, despite the colour change. Finally, a pair of green trainers and golden laces covered her feet, with white socks covering her lower legs, which had two golden bars close to the top. He couldn't deny how attractive she looked running up towards him.

"Hey," she greeted, while slightly catching her breath. He could make a green backpack with black straps as she dropped it by her side, "sorry I'm late. My mum wasn't too thrilled with my outfit. She thought it was too revealing."

"I-its fine," he reassured, "I-I mean. I mean you look good."

She smiled and leaned forward, placing a small kiss on his cheek, "hehehe, thank you Ash. And you don't look too bad yourself."

He gave himself the once over, checking out the outfit his mother made for him. It wasn't anything special, his trainers were a combination of blue and black, same style to his previous pair just not worn out, with light blue trousers covering his legs. A black undershirt covered his chest as he wore a baggy, blue jacket. A light blue semi-circle highlighted the pockets over his stomach. As a similar light colour made up the hood. According to his mum, it was meant to be a special jacket designed for hot weather which wouldn't have him roasting alive under the Hoenn sun. A pair of black gloves covered his hands as most of his arms were on show thanks to the short sleeves.

"And I think your only missing this," she smiled, reaching into her backpack. The cerulean-eyed girl brought out a single baseball cap which was mostly red around the bill and sides. a black face reached over the top and a green symbol for the Silver conference covered the face.

"I'm guessing you knew about my outfit already?" he asked.

"Your mum might've asked for some design idea," she giggled, "and I told her I wanted to get you the league hat. It's been a tradition for as long as I can remember."

"I am so lucky to have you," he whispered, wrapping his hands around her waist. Rubbing his nose against her's as he pulled her close.

"Put her down, Ash," another voice echoed from behind.

Turning around he saw Leaf stood in her own new attire, despite not leaving on a journey. Gone was her long skirt and summer top, typical of the girl next door but now she wore a black dress which blue in the wind. Underneath were turquoise shorts and top, clearly designed for exploring and to be more practical. Her hair wasn't contained in long straight lines anymore, either, bunched out and covering her back.

Glancing behind her, he saw both his dad and Drake taking off on their respective Charizard's, the former being much larger. Despite going from the same airport, they decided not to travel together just due to the awkwardness that might ensue. At least he'll get to see his brother before they leave the region.

"Hey Leaf, it's great to see you," he smiled at his childhood friend.

"And you look great, too," Serena smiled, "you know, it's not too late if you want to come with us. We could always use the extra pair of hands whilst on the road."

"Thanks guys," she smiled, "but I'm not ready to set off again yet... beside, Professor Oak said he'd help me get my book published, if I help him around the lab whilst writing it. He even promised to be a beta reader. I can't pass up that sort of opportunity."

"I guess that means you'll be working closely with Gary," Serena added, a hidden smirk written over her lips.

"Yeah, I guess," Leaf sighed, happily, "he's been really supportive, ya know. A real friend throughout this whole thing with Drake."

Ash couldn't help but chuckle at that. Despite being so Intune with others relationships and almost having a sixth sense for who'll end up together, Leaf had difficulty reading them when she was part of the process. Not only was she convinced his brother had feelings for her, but she couldn't see Gary's obvious ones. It was actually kinda amusing, if not a little sad for his rival-turned friend.

"So, isn't Gary coming down to see us off?" Serena asked.

"No, he wanted to get to work on something in the lab," she sighed, "he told me to see you off but also said he doesn't do goodbyes. But he did say that if you need anything then call the lab. He'll be ready to help along with the rest of us here, and your Pokémon will be well looked after."

"Heh, somehow I'm not surprised," Ash smirked, mostly to himself, having heard the message in the Oak-boy's voice funnily enough.

"Besides, he might be sent on an errand to Hoenn and you meet up with him yourself," Leaf shrugged, "and this way, there's enough room in the jeep for me to see you off at the airport."

Speaking off, the roaring of an engine drew everyone's attention. A small, four-person open roof, mountain jeep drove down the path towards them with the elderly Professor behind the wheel. As it came to a stop, the two girls began climbing into the vehicle, with Leaf taking the front seat next to the Professor.

"Oh, my little boy is going off to a region all by himself," Delia cooed, as she engulfed him in a hug.

"Mum," he groaned, "I'm not really by myself, I've Serena. Not to mention my Pokémon like Pikachu, Phanpy, Granbull... and even Brock will be joining us."

"I know that," she released him, "but it's not the same. Not even your brother will be in the same region."

"Yeah... I tried to get Drake to change his mind," Ash sighed, "but he's dead set on going to Unova."

"It's just something he has to do," she replied, "believe me, I'd rather he travelled with people he knows and not off on his own, on the other side of the world but this is what is right for him, so who are we to argue."

"I never thought of it that way," Ash sighed, giving his mum one last hug, "guess this is goodbye, for now."

"Remember to call home more often," she told him, as he made his way to the vehicle. Jumping into the back seat, next to Serena, "and don't forget to change-"

"Mum!" he cried out, as the engine roared, speeding off down the road. He blushed at the instruction as both Leaf and Serena burst out giggling.

As the car ride started going and they left the boundaries of pallet, hardly any talking was made. It was for a number of reasons, the first being the loud engine roaring as they sped through the tree-littered road. The second being the insane driving of the Professor. He was acting like some sort of professional racer with the way he swerved in and out of trees, never once taking his foot off the gas. Ash held onto Serena who buried her head within his chest, and he too closed his eyes. Pikachu was tucked neatly under the seat, clearly trying to not go flying out with every bump hit.

While it barely took them an hour to reach the Vermillion city sea-based airport, it felt a lot long when holding on for dear life. The couple cautiously made their way out of the death trap jeep and back onto solid ground. In front of them was the terminal of the airfield but it wasn't as large as one might expect, although just behind several water-based planes could be seen floating in the water.

"You both have your teams and tickets," Professor Oak explained, "when you land in Lilycove, call the lab first so I can let Professor Birch know you're on your way."

"We will," Serena smiled, "thank you for the plane tickets, by the way."

"It's no trouble at all," he smiled, "your both doing me a favour with this. As well as Professor Birch, of course."

"I guess this is goodbye," Leaf climbed out of the vehicle, giving each of them a hug, "I'm gonna miss you both. Keep in touch."

"Of course," Ash smiled, "and if you do end up coming to Hoenn, even if just for a few days, let us know. We'll definitely plan a meet up."

"If I do come across an errand that requires a Hoenn visit, Gary has already dibsed them," the Professor added.

"He has?" Ash asked.

"Something about making sure that rival of his doesn't start going soft without him around," he smiled, "but I'm certain that he'd appreciate the company, regardless of what the subject matter might be."

"I think we should get going," Serena spoke up, "we don't want to be late booking in."

With one last goodbye, the couple walked into the terminal. Serena offered to book them in while he stood off to the side with Sylveon, who Pikachu wasted no time in conversing with his girlfriend. Having nothing else to do, he ended up studying his girlfriend's new look. From the back, it was hard to believe it was the girl he spent most of his life with. Her hair was starting to grow longer although he has to admit, he prefers her hair shorter but if she wants to grow it back, he won't stop her. Then there is her long, silky smooth legs which lead up to-

'NO!' he mentally stopped himself. Why does she always have to make these thoughts appear in his head.

"So, you've arrived," a voice drew his attention.

"Huh?" he replied, turning towards the source.

He found his twin brother stood behind him. His hair was still short and in military style, a black leather jacket with a red stripe down each arm, on the outer side. It was completely zipped up so he could tell what sort of undershirt he had. Black trousers matched along with black trainers which had red laces. If he didn't know any better, Ash would've guessed he was some sort of biker.

"Hey," he smiled, "so where's dad?"

"He already left, his flight came in," Drake explained, "heh, back when we started. I would've done anything to be the one to see if off and not you."

"I know you would've," Ash sighed, "I guess he didn't mention where he was going?"

"Nope, he kept it pretty tight lipped," his brother replied, "but he forgot that I saw what plane he got on. Checking out the information boards, I was able to conclude he's heading up to Sinnoh. But I couldn't tell you why."

"Couldn't he just of got on that plane then switch to go somewhere else?" Ash asked.

"Come on, we both know him," Drake quirked his eyebrow up, "he wouldn't be smart enough to pull something like that off."

"And how do you know?" Ash asked.

"Because you wouldn't be smart enough to pull something like that off," Drake sighed, "Serena might, but not you. And despite being the one to idolise him, we both know you take after him, even more."

"Maro Marowak!" the ground type cried out.

"Huh?" Drake asked, turning towards his ground type who was pointing up to the information board. He studied it for a moment before glancing out of the window where a seaplane was pulling into the bay, "guess their gonna start loading my flight soon. I should get going."

"Already?" he asked.

"Well I don't want to be left behind," his brother shrugged, "besides, your companion is returning. She'll keep you company."

Turning back, he saw the honey-blonde beauty approaching with a smile on her face. She greeted him with a hug, which he gladly returned, "was that Drake?"

He spun his head to see his brother disappearing among the crowd heading towards the boarding port, "yeah but he had to get his plane. When's ours due?"

"In about half an hour," she replied, swaying from side to side in his arms, "but I know which port we're flying from. If you want to go over so we can get on board quicker."

"I guess that wouldn't be an issue," he muttered, taking a deep breath as his heartbeat increased.

With his girlfriend's comfort, she lead the way over to the plane. They weren't the first ones in the cue but as time passed, more people joined behind them, despite feeling every second past. The plane arrived way to quickly for his liking. As they began to board, she reassured him with the fact that sea planes are able to land pretty much anywhere and thus much safer. He wasn't to reassured but it didn't take them long to find their seats. The message from those boarding crew about Pokéballs being disabled on the plane not helping matters... although he figured it was to prevent someone unleashing like an Onix or other large Pokémon mid-flight.

Others continued to board the plane as he nervously sat in his seat. His palms began dripping in sweat, even with Serena taking the middle seat. She placed a hand on his cheek forced him to look towards her. As Pikachu and Sylveon took up the window spot together, clearly excited for the take off.

"You still nervous about the flight?" she asked, to which he nodded, "well... I think I might have a way to help you."

"What's that?" he asked.

"This," she whispered, pulling his face closer to hers.

Their lips connected and his eyes closed. Both his hands became enveloped by hers as he lost himself in her sweet, savoury lips. It only lasted a few moments, but it completely refreshed him. They pulled away and opened eyes to just stare at each other.

"Better?" she asked, to which he nodded his head, "good... and I will be sure to have plenty more for when we take off and land."

A beeping noise went off in her ear. Blinking awake, she saw the bright sun shining through her window... on the opposite side of the room to her bed, she made sure of that layout when designing her room. Slamming her hand down on the alarm, it stopped the beeping. Grabbing the quilt covers, she pulled them overhead and closed her eyes. A faint twitter of chirps from outside Pokémon was preventing her from falling asleep.

"May, honey!" her mother's voice echoed through to her room, "it's time for breakfast! You don't want to be late for getting your starter from Professor Birch!"

Groaning in annoyance, she threw the covers off her bed and sat up. Her long brown hair fell over her eyes, obscuring her vison. Shaking her head, she climbed out of bed and approached her wardrobe, searching through it for the travelling outfit she picked out.

This is ten-year-old May Maple from Petalburg City in the Hoenn region. A couple years back her family moved to this region where her father became a gym leader... well he was always a gym leader, but they ended up moving because of that Plasma group. Her dad felt they might target a gym or even the leaders family because of their Pokémon protection agenda. In truth, she doesn't even like Pokémon. It's not that she is scared of them, or even hates them. She's indifferent. Her father is always spending time with them and they seem like a lot of work. Heh, that probably raises the question on why she is getting a starter or becoming a trainer at all. That is simple, she loves to travel and explore. The only way to do that at her age, is to become an official trainer.

Looking in the mirror, she took in her appearance, as she finished fixing the red bow on her head. Which had two white stripes on it. Her hair, particularly at the front fell into two pigtails. A sleeveless red top and black undershirt complied of her torso. It was the only way to not have a bunch of layers on and not have her bra straps showing. Despite her age, she had a very developed chest, and she hates it. Being an athletic person, they only seem to get in the way and any guys that show interest in her... well her dad scares them off so it's not like they're any use. Shaking her head, she picked up the white gloves with black fingers and wrist rim. As she put them on, she took in the rest of her attire. White shorts made up her bottom with black undershorts extending down to her knees. It was the only way her dad would let her have those white shorts.

Glancing towards the door, she saw her yellow and black trainers and a yellow hip bag. Grabbing the latter, she put it on and placed her hand on the none-exposed hip. It was certainly stylish and easy to wear when cycling. After all, they brought her a new bike to start her journey with.

Taking the bag off, she flung it down next to her trainers and ran out of her room. Running down the corridors, the scent of her mother's cooking hit her nose and energised her. Grabbing onto the banister, she leaped and cleared the stairs, after years of practise, she perfected the jump.

Making her way through the living room, she noticed her family already in the kitchen. Her mother, Caroline, was dressed in a long dark orange dress which reached down to her ankles. A yellow summer top with a brown belt tied around her waist. She was cooking over the over with her back to her so she couldn't make it out, even if her nose could give her a pretty good guess.

Her father came into view as he placed a kiss on cheek, dressed in his standard blue jeans and red striped top, he has no sense of fashion. Rolling her eyes and making a gagging face. Taking a seat at the table, she looked across to see her little brother.

Max was dressed in large square glasses and a polo-green shirt. His hair was long but neatly combed to the side. He was such a nerd, how he could consider math or battles to be fun she'd never know. He even has that Johto league or whatever it was pre-recorded. Rolling her eyes, she found a plate of waffles placed in front of her. Covered in whip cream and strawberries. She maybe athletic but her appetite is second to none.

As she began wolfing down her meal, her parents took their own seat. She caught sight of her mum who offered a friendly smile, "so May, have you thought about what starter you want?"

"I'll definitely be picking Treecko," Max pipped up, "with water consisting most of Hoenn and gyms like Rustbow and Mauville, a grass type is definitely the best to go."

"I wouldn't be so sure, Max, every type has there advantages and disadvantages," her father replied, "that's why I specialise in normal types. They are the most versatile type. Not to mention, they also have a wide variety of roles. They aren't all defensive like steel types or speedy like electric types."

"Come on now, dear, this is May's big day," her mum interjected, turning towards her, "so dear, do you know which starter you'd like?"

"I'm not really fussed," she shrugged, taking another bite of her breakfast.

"What?! How can you be so none-chalant about this?!" Max burst out, "picking a starter is the most important decision as a trainer."

"Not quite, son," her father chuckled, "yes its important but it's only a start. As time goes on, trainers are challenged in more way than you could imagine."

"I'm sure what May meant was," her mum discreetly glanced at her before continuing, "she didn't care which starter she'd get because all of them would make a good partner in one way or another."

"Hehehe, right mum," she chuckled nervously, taking another bite of her breakfast, sinking back into her seat.

The sooner she gets out of here and on the road, the better. It's not that she hates her family or anything, it's just both her dad and Max are Pokémon nuts, they can't go five minutes without mentioning them. She's even expected to take on the league because of his position, it's bad enough having to take one on her travels to see the world.

She continued to eat her breakfast as Max went off about one of the battles from that league or whatever it was, he recorded. Not really paying attention, she heard him talk about some sort of fossil or dinosaur Pokémon sweeping their opponent. Whatever it was, he certainly enjoyed the battle.

"May dear, don't forget you have to bike all the way to Littleroot," her mum spoke up, "you don't want to be late."

"Your mother is right, dear, Professor's choose who picks their starters based on the order in which they show up," her father added, "but maybe that will help you, if you're unsure of which starter you want then maybe let those two boys who are also starting pick whichever ones they want."

"Didn't one of them invite you on their travels?" her mum asked, "I, for one, would feel safer knowing you had someone with you."

"Yeah... Brendan did," May whispered, "but I said no. Ya know, not wanting to slow him down or anything."

"How would you slow him down if your both doing the gym challenge?" her brother asked.

"Well you don't want to give away any of your battle secrets to a rival like that," her dad boasted, "but your mother is right. We'd both feel calm of mind if you had some travelling companions. Maybe a nice girl your age would make a good companion, and a friend for life."

"Hehehe, well... I'll have to see if anyone is available," she chuckled nervously, swallowing the last of her breakfast, "but I should get going."

Jumping out of her seat, she quickly scuttered up the stairs and grabbed her trainers. Slipping them on and throwing her bag back around her hip, she took off back down the stairs. The front door was next to the stairs so as she hit the ground, she pulled the door open.

"Bye guys!" she called out.

"Be careful sweetie!" her mum called out.

"And call home!" her dad added, "remember that this is one of the regional gyms so your free to stop by!"

She closed the door and jumped on the bike; her brother started to say something, but she really didn't want to waste any more time. She was always the last one to Birch's lessons but that's hardly fair since one of them is his son and practically lives at the lab. Jumping onto the ruby red bike outside, she set off.

With a kick, she left through the right side of town. Instead of following the main path, however, she made a sharp turn to the left. This forest path completely cuts out Oldale town and makes a straight shot to the lab. Large thick trees scattered her path, but she made this journey enough times to have it down to a pattern. It was nice because her bike scared any nearby Pokémon away or she moved quick enough to avoid them anyway-

"Dusk!" a black shadow popped beside her.

Startled by the thing that appeared, she was thrown off balance. As her front tire wobbled left and right, she held onto the handle in an attempt to control her bike. As soon as she regained control, she glanced up and saw a tree.

"Ow!" she grunted, face planting the wildlife. As she fell off her bike, she rubbed the top of her head, a mischievous laugh echoing in her ear.

Turning to the side, she saw the floating black Pokémon laughing its face off. Not that it had much of a face, a skull covered it with two massive eye holes, a single red eye wobbling between the two sockets. She hmphed up a lump of breath, blowing her pigtail to the side which fell over her face.

"This is why I don't like Pokémon," she mumbled to herself.

Not wanting to waste any more time, she grabbed her bike and began walking it down the path. Once clear of the tree, she hopped back on and continued down the forest path... even if without as much energy as before, as to not wanting to tempt fate.

As she saw the small town come into view, she couldn't help but wonder what the other two trainers were doing today. Sawyer, she only knew from the lessons with Professor Birch, he seemed like a carbon copy of her brother. While she respected his knowledge, even knowing he helped her get through those classes by answering all of the Professor's questions, he isn't what she'd call a friend. More an acquaintance, and even that might be pushing it.

While the other was her best friend, Brendan. Of course, she knew he had a crush on her. He has since the day she met him and sure he's pretty cute, but her dad ensured no guy would come within ten miles of her... at least like that. Besides, she doesn't like him like that. He is definitely a Pokémon nerdy but, in his attempts, to woo her he did help with her papers set by the Professor. Without the boys help, she doubted Professor would be allowing her to become a trainer today. It doesn't matter now, however, as she will soon get her starter and then she can explore the world!
