-Pokemon Talking-
'Telepathy'
It was a sunny day and Mew was exploring the forest as usual, floating around while looking for something fun to do or some pokemon to play with. During her exploration she finds a group of wild kangaskhan with one of them playing with her baby, pushing around a lost ball they found in the forest.
Mew found this sight to be adorable and eagerly flew towards one of them, hoping she could join in. -Hey there, can I join? I'm a bit lonely so if you wouldn't mind, I could- The moment Mew flew close enough to the group, one of the kangaskhan roared and notified all the others about Mew. -DANGER, DANGER! EVERYONE, IT'S THE MYTHICAL MEW!-
They then started picking up large rocks and boulders to throw at her, with the kids throwing pebbles. -Hey- ow. Stop, I just want to…- Mew put up a barrier to protect herself from the attacks, but the kangaskhan keep attacking.
-Grr… I said STOP!- The barrier that was once protecting expanded and became a psychic shockwave that blasted all the rocks and kangaskhan down, also destroying a few trees and making a crater on the ground. -Oops. I'm sorry, I just wanted-
All the kangaskhan then picked up their kids and ran away, leaving behind only the ball now crushed and flattened during the stampede. Mew was upset by their reaction towards her, which slowly turned into frustration. -FINE! Be that way, I don't need you, or anyone… I'll just… be alone.- She sits down with her head low, almost feeling sorry for herself.
Mew however did not want to spend the rest of the day alone despite what she said. All wild pokemon didn't seem to like her as whenever she tried to greet them, they either attacked her or fled. (Ugh, why is everyone afraid of me? Is it because I'm a mythical? Are they scared of my power? This never happened before! …I guess they probably know about the great storm and how I helped Mewtwo make it, instead of stopping it. Ohh… how could I be so stupid-) *Bang!*
-Oww. What the- A Tyranitar runs towards Mew as she was thinking to herself and the Tyranitar knocks her onto the ground. Mew, clearly annoyed and frustrated on her already not so good day, decided to follow the pokemon to give it a piece of her mind.
-Hey! Watch where you're… going?- Once she managed to catch up to him, she noticed that the Tyranitar was chasing a small blue pokemon that was fleeing from it. She took a closer look, now interested in what's going on. -P-Please, leave me alone!-
After hearing the pokemon's pleading, Mew came closer with the intention of saving the pokemon. But after further inspection, she noticed that the pokemon was actually another mew, and a blue one at that. Mew had never seen another mew before, let alone a blue one, and Mew always thought she was the last of her kind. So many thoughts and questions entered her head as she was staring at the Mew.
(ANOTHER MEW!? Why is it blue? I'm I not the only mew in existence other than Mewtwo? How have I not known about it?) Mew, frozen from the shock of finding another mew. However she was snapped back into reality by the angry roar of the Tyranitar who was about to stomp on the pokemon. -This is what you get, for eating my FOOD!-
-NO!- Just before the Tyranitar could stomp the little pokemon flat, Mew came in and tackled it with incredible force, even managing to take it down despite the massive size difference between them. After that she chased it away by firing Aura Spheres at the Tyranitar that was now fleeing.
-Serves you right!- She said triumphantly before returning to the blue mew. -Stay back, please! I don't wanna fight anymore!- The blue mew leaped back, preparing a barrier. -No, it's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you.- Mew approaches gently trying not to scare it. The blue mew hesitates, but eventually puts down its barrier and calms down. -O-Okay. If you say so.-
-Hehe, hello. My name is Mew. And you are?- Mew didn't get a response from that. But it didn't seem like she would listen anyways.
Mew eagerly gets closer and circles around the blue mew, examining it as much as possible. -Oh wow wow wow! Another mew, just like me. Everyone's going to be so surprised to see you.- Mew just keeps circling around him faster and faster, unable to contain her excitement.
The blue mew was still feeling a little wary about meeting Mew, but really appreciated how friendly she was to him, unlike the local wild pokemon. However, the mew doesn't seem to know how to react to Mew's excitement -Umm… you look nice too. Wait, others?-
-I have to show you to the other legendary pokemon. They will be so surprised, and maybe even jealous, I have my own kind. And then you can tell me everything about yourself in my room! Come on, let's go.- Mew grabs its paw and tries to drag the mew along with her but stops as the blue mew pulls back and lets go.
-Huh? What's wrong?- She asked, confused.
-I don't want to meet other pokemon. In this world they are mean, scary and aggressive. What if they're not friendly?- Mew put her paw on its back as gently as she could.
-It's okay. I forgot to mention that they are also my friends, and that they can be just as nice as me… sort of. But if it makes you feel any better, we can skip straight to my room so we can be friends there?- The blue mew thinks for a few seconds, before he nods and agrees with Mew's suggestion.
She smiles and without hesitation, teleports herself and the mew into the Hall of Origins. After a flash of light that only lasts for a split second, the two pokemon appear in a giant hall room with large pillars on the side, separating the giant doors present here. The place was illuminated by high windows above the doors, while almost being as big as them, indefinitely shining light through it. The floor, walls, pillars and ceiling also seemed to be made of the same high quality material so clean, it was almost as reflective as a mirror.
The blue mew looked around in awe. Just the look on its face shows that the mew has never seen a place like this before. -WOW! This place is so big, and so clear. You really live here?-
-Yes I do! And my room is just over ther- Mew!- She was interrupted by a bright light of a pokemon using teleport. And what appeared was a very large pokemon in bright white, a dark underside and what seemed to be parts of gold on its body. -Arceus!-
The blue mew hid behind Mew as soon as Arceus appeared. -Mew, I have detected that you have brought a pokemon from the outside in here. I have nothing against you making friends, but the Hall of Origins is only for Legendaries, and not just any…- Arceus stopped speaking after taking a good look at the mew.
-Oh, what a pleasant surprise. I didn't expect to see you here. I assume you left your world to explore this world?- The blue mew nodded shyly in response as Mew looked at both of them a bit confused. -Wait, you two know each other?-
-Yes of course I know him. I created him after all.- Mew then looks at the blue mew again. -Your a boy? Is that why you're blue?- The mew just leaned back to get some distance between him and Mew.
-Well I apologise for the misunderstanding and interrupting your day. Make sure to play nice, okay?- Arceus began levitating in the air and was covered in another large flash of light before vanishing completely.
-Okay, back to what I was saying before we were rudely interrupted, my room is over there.- Mew points to one of the many massive doors on the end of the hallway. Although unlike the other doors which were as clean as the rest of the hall, Mew's one was covered in dents, scratches and stains that appear to be from food.
-What happened to your door?- The mew asked curiously.
-Well… let's just say I'm not the most likeable pokemon in here. So let's just go in!- Mew didn't bother on explaining it a bit more and just opened the door, showing a bright pink room, big enough to fit an entire blimp. The bed was on the very far corner of the room on the right and the other corner had an overflowing toy box.
There was a giant, white and fluffy carpet covering the middle of the room with the edges having all sorts of pokemon plushies. There also seemed to be a table with chairs being occupied with the plushies, with only one chair being vacant.
-Wow… this is your room?-
-Yep! Pretty cool huh?- Mew said proudly with her paws on her hips. She examined him as he explored the whole place and felt some of the plushies, which were really soft. He picked up a random pikachu plushie and hugged it. -So nice… how did you make these so soft?-
-Oh I didn't make them silly. I took them from humans. Do you like plushies?-
-Oh is that what they are called? Yeah, I really like them. Such a cute name. But what do you mean take them?- The mew asked with a bit of suspicion. -Well… you see, these plushies were made by humans and I liked them so naturally I would take- Steal?- The blue mew interrupted her, looking a little bit disappointed. Mew noticed his shift in tone when saying that. -Well, not really. I'm… uhh… borrowing them.-
-Oh, so when are you giving them back?-
-Never-
-Did you get permission to have them?-
-No-
-Mew! That's stealing. You can't do that!-
-Why not? I do it all the time!- She said, confused on why that was bothering him so much. -It's just bad. I don't like it. Stealing makes me feel uneasy. Where I'm from, it's forbidden and I've had stuff stolen from me before. It's a terrible feeling.-
Mew never really thought about it that way. She probably didn't really care much either, but was willing to stop if it meant she could become friends with him. -Okay okay. If I promise I would never steal again, would you like that?-
He nodded lightly. -I would like that very much. I don't want to cause that type of pain to uh… what were they called? Humans?-
-Yep. They are the ones that made these. They also make a few other things too.- Mew adds.
This peaked the mews interest. -Oh wow. Can I meet them? I also want to see what else they make!- This made Mew give him a bit of a serious look.
-No. Humans are too dangerous and evil to interact with. Meeting with them is out of the question!- This made the blue mew disappointed, and even more upset. He started to think maybe no one in this world was really truly friendly, except Mew of course and that maybe it was better off if he stayed back home. Mew could feel this and tried to bring some good news to maybe cheer him up.
-But we can go and see the stuff they make that makes them not so worthless. Just follow my lead and I'll make sure we don't get caught okay?- The blue mew was already having second thoughts about this. But if Mew was making an exception on this just for him, then he would feel that it would be rude to just back out. -Okay, let's go take a look.-
Mew nodded and flew closer to him before summoning a flash of light that teleported them just outside a small city which seemed to also have a small population. They were able to finally take a look and the mew was surprised by what he saw. -Oh, this is nothing like I've ever seen before. So those are humans Huh.-
The mew did not expect humans to look like what he saw. He did not expect them to be a bipedal species with drastically different coloured fur in different styles and a bit of exposed body parts. To him they kind of looked… off. Pokemon had a certain style to them no matter how different they were and yet humans seemed to show none of that style, more so having their own. Most were not easy to look at due to how alien they seemed to him, and only a few of them he would consider cute. -Wow, this was uhh. Not what I expected them to look like.-
-Really? What did you expect them to look like?- Mew asked curiously.
-Well… I expected them to be smaller, and able to fly around like us. Or maybe… I don't really know. But I didn't expect them to look like a smaller, colourful and furry version of ugly pokemon.- This made Mew giggle. That was by far, the one of the most ridiculous sounding and also the most hilarious way to describe humans.
-Yeah, I see what you mean but humans don't have the power to do basic things like flight or use moves, and that's not fur that they have, it's called clothing. It's like fur but you can change it. They are actually just all skin creatures-. The blue mew was surprised with what he heard. Being able to change your fur at will without any special abilities. Also he decided that he didn't want to know what they looked like without their clothing. -Wait really? I didn't know that. I guess we are a bit too far away for me to notice.-
Mew took a small look around to the right of where the city was. There she saw an empty route that did not have any humans walking around it. -Huh? What's wrong?- The blue mew asks, not knowing what she was looking at.
-There is a route just over there, and there aren't any humans there, so we might be able to take a closer look at them if you like. Just remember to keep a long distance between them, okay?- He nodded, and followed her to the route where there were a few patches of tall grass, bushes and trees which were perfect for hiding.
This place also had a better view of the people making it easier for the mew to examine them. He also noticed a pokemon centre, a pokemart, a restaurant and even a hotel. -Hey Mew, those structures are unlike anything I've seen before. What are they?-
-Oh those? They are, I think, called buildings. Humans live in them, you know a place to call home. Hey you know, humans aren't rare creatures, they can be found almost anywhere. How do you not know about them?-
-Well… humans don't exist in my world . So I've never seen one or even heard of one.- Mew felt a bit of relief that she met him before he was captured by a pokemon trainer. Or worse, an evil organisation. And that she was able to warn him about them before it would be too late.
-Must be nice living in a world without humans, huh? Never having to worry about being caught in the wild and being able to be yourself all the time. By the way, once this is all over, mind sending me to your world? I wanna see what it's like back there. Must be a paradise, am I right?- Mew did not get a response. -Right?... hello? Earth to- Mew looked back and saw that the blue mew wasn't near her anymore.
Instead, he was watching what seemed to be a male teenage human child, around the age of fifteen and was dangerously close to him. -Stop! Get away from him!-
Mew flew over as quickly as she could while the mew was watching the human child, picking up random trainer goods left onto the ground by impatient or clumsy pokemon trainers. He didn't notice the mew until he turned around to head back to the city and saw the blue mew watching him. They both began to look at each other nervously and the blue mew who was unprepared to be seen nervously lifted a paw. -Eek! Um… h-hi human?-
-M-Mew… mew mew.- Was what the kid heard instead and backed away slowly before Mew pushed herself between the boy and the mew and attacked the human with Aura Spheres, causing him to drop a few supplies and flee. Mew took a deep breath before looking back at the mew, who was already cowering in fear that Mew would be mad at him. -Are you okay?-
-I think so. I'm sorry for making you worry about me. So please don't be mad at me.- Mew put a paw on his shoulder to show that she wasn't that mad. -It's okay. I'm just glad you're safe. I don't wanna lose a friend I just met.- He just nodded in response to that. Mew then licked him to show how grateful she was that he was okay and to groom him while blue mew blushed at the affectionate gesture. And after a moment of silence, the mew gained the courage to ask about something he thought of during the encounter.
-Hey Mew? I know you were trying to protect me but don't you think that's a bit mean to attack him like that? You said he didn't have any special powers, so he probably had no way to defend himself.- Mew stopped licking him and straightened his fur using her paw before speaking back. -Oh he could protect himself alright. Probably had a strong pokemon in one of the pokeballs he had with him. Probably would've used them to catch you too.-
-So why didn't he?-
-...I don't know. Probably because he knew it wouldn't work. Humans are smart that way, that's what makes them so dangerous. Their technology and their ability to use them.- Suddenly Mew's stomach began to rumble. She remembered that she hadn't eaten in awhile. The blue mew noticed and giggled. -Hehe, yeah, it's been quite some time since I've eaten something. I was going to save my appetite for some human food after tasting them for the first time. And that stuff was delicious.-
-Wait really? They make good food too?-
-Really good food! I'd even say it's worth going into human territory to get some.-
-You mean steal some-
Mew rolled her eyes and smiled. -It's not stealing, we're just getting something to eat, then we're out of here.- The more they talked about the food, the hungrier the mew got. And the less he cared about keeping himself from stealing. Eventually agreeing completely to Mew's plan.
-Wait! How are we going to get in without being caught?- The blue mew asked. Suddenly Mew vanished right in front of him, confusing the mew, before tapping him on the back and reappearing. -Hehe, we can turn invisible silly. Don't you remember?-
-Ooh, I completely forgot we could do that!- The blue mew then also disappeared as if he was completely gone. -Yeah, now the humans can't detect us and I don't need to save your butt from getting caught. But remember, let's use our telepathy so we don't get heard by them.- The mew nodded and they both entered the city.
Meanwhile the human child that was attacked by Mew was making his way towards a pokemart. He then walks up to the counter, dropping a bag of random pokeballs, potions, antidotes and other trainer essentials. "Here are the goods I found lying about. They are unused and undamaged so you should be able to sell them. But unfortunately I dropped a few after I was attacked by a pokemon."
The employee picked up all the goods given to him by the kid and began counting the value of the items. "No worries kid, this is still a lot. Especially for someone without a pokemon. Speaking of which, you should really get your own pokemon to protect you whenever you go out into the wild. You could seriously get hurt."
"We already had this talk, man. I'm not interested in becoming a pokemon trainer. And I don't want my own pokemon." After taking all his goods, the employee gave the kid four thousand pokedollars. "Really? You're really missing out. Having a pokemon companion really makes life worth living."
The kid didn't respond and just gave the employee a cold stare. "Alright alright, I'll stop. Cheer up kid, you're at the prime of your life, so why don't you just live a little. But all that aside I appreciate us doing our own little business here. You pick up unused goods that pokemon trainers just ungratefully litter behind and you sell them to me. It's even cheaper than shipping, despite not being as much. I should be paying you double for this, you know."
"Nah, it's fine." The kid then picks up his now empty bag and leaves the store. "Alright Mark, you take care now. And please consider what I said to you-" He waved back just before the door closed on the employee. Apparently the kid's name was Mark and he sold the supplies to buy some food from a nearby grocery store before heading to the hotel, which was the place Mew and the blue mew entered to find food, mistaking it for a restaurant or a grocery store. 'Uhh Mew. Are you sure this is the place?'
'To be honest, I'm not actually sure. All these buildings look the same to me. I've actually never been in one before. But let's keep looking, there has to be some food here. If not, we'll look in another building.' The mews explored the place a little before coming to the conclusion that there was no food to be seen. They were about to leave the hotel, Mark walked into the hotel with groceries he got from the store.
'Wait, is that?'
'That's the human you warned me about!' The mew said, slightly hiding behind Mew.
'Woah, easy there. He can't see us, remember?'
'Oh. Right. But we should probably get out of here before we get caught.' However Mew was too busy staring at his plastic bag to listen to him. The mew noticed where Mew's attention was and asked her about it. 'Uhh what are you looking at? What is that?'
'That's human food. A whole bag of it. If we can get that…' Mew stopped and noticed that they were way too close to other unsuspecting humans, so they both levitated upwards to avoid contact. But when they looked for Mark he was already upstairs, so they followed him by teleporting to the upper floor.
Unfortunately Mark did notice the sudden flash of light that came with teleporting. Luckily however, no one else was there and Mark didn't really think much of it. He assumed it was just a bit of lightning coming from the window, which showed that it was already pitch black outside. (Hmm, I hope it's just someone using a lightning move in a pokemon battle and not an actual storm.)
Mark then goes back to opening his suite, but hesitates the moment unlocks the door. (Why does it feel like I'm being watched?)
He goes in the door and closes it behind him and puts the bag on the table, before heading to the kitchen and preparing a meal for himself, when he noticed the very same flash of light coming from the living room. It felt very close by so he went to the room and invested, only to find nothing. Little did Mark know, the mews were invisible and grabbed the bag of groceries behind his back.
The plastic made a sound that alerted Mark and he went back into the kitchen only to see the light once again, leaving nothing behind. The money he used to buy the groceries was wasted. And the groceries themselves were gone. Clearly frustrated, he hits the table as hard as he could. "Damn it! JUST MY LUCK!"
Mark just sat there contemplating what had happened when he got a knock on the door.
"Coming…" He answered the door, only to find out it was a noise complaint.
Meanwhile, the mews head back to Mew's bedroom in the Hall of Origins to eat their food. The plastic bag consisted of already cooked chicken meat, with a few treats from the bakery, like mini cakes and muffins. There were also three mago berries, fresh from the store.
-Mmph! Your right Mew. This stuff is delicious!- The blue mew said stuffing himself in the barkery goods.
-Nom! Did I tell you or what? At least they know how to make good stuff.- While Mew chows down on the cooked meat.
Both pokemon stuffed their faces in the food that they got and as the blue mew got less hungry, the more he slowed down and thought for a bit. Halfway through eating the last mini cake, he stops eating completely. -What's wrong, you full? If you are, can I have it?- Mew asked gluttony. The blue mew gives the half piece to her and Mew just eats it all up.
-Mew? This doesn't feel right. We just stole food from that guy. All of it. We didn't even leave any left for him.- He said, starting to feel a bit guilty.
But Mew just waves a dismissive paw. -Oh relax, he can just get more. Besides, wasn't that worth it? Eating all that delicious food?- But he didn't respond, he just sat there thinking of how he could've not stole the kids food. Mew noticed this and tried to justify their actions. -Don't worry about it. It's just food. He'll forget about it and just buy more food, like I said.- No response.
-You know what, maybe your just tired. We had a long day and it's already night, so let's get some sleep. Go on.- Mew got rid of the plastic and other rubbish that was left behind from the meal and the leftovers being stored in her own pink refrigerator. -Since I forgot to make a bed for you, we can just sleep together. My bed is big enough to hold us! Come on!- Mew pulled on his paw and drags him onto her bed.
She uses her psychic powers to shut off the lights and pulls the blankets over them both. -Yawn! Goodnight. See you tomorrow.-
-Yeah… Goodnight.- And so they both drifted to sleep.
Hours pass and the blue mew has been having trouble sleeping, twisting and turning. Eventually he woke up, sick of the gut feeling he's been having ever since he finished eating. All that food reeked of stolen food and was eating him up, with guilt and trauma making him sick like he had eaten something that had gone bad many years ago.
Now wide awake and haunted by his memories back in his world, he got up without waking Mew. He knew exactly what the problem was but didn't know how to fix it. He took a peak inside Mew's refrigerator and found some scraps of what was left of the food, most of them already half eaten. Except this one cake with icing on it, that was the colour… pink. He then began to think that Mew might be overusing the colour pink a little too much.
But colour aside, he had an idea. Although it also didn't feel right for him to be stealing Mew's food, it made him feel a bit better thinking it as a trade for the food they have taken. Who knows, maybe Mew stole this as well, so he decided to take the cake and teleported himself out Mew's room and the Hall, going straight inside Mark's suite, where all the lights were out, and he assumed that Mark was fast asleep.
He went in Mark's bedroom and placed the plate of cake on the small table beside his bed. After that was done he became more focused on the room. Not blinded by the feeling of hunger or guilt, he felt the atmosphere of the room. Although tiny in comparison to Mew's, it was warmer, and more cosy.
He also couldn't help but stare at Mark, as he slept peacefully. Of course, there were barley visible signs of hunger and even heard his stomach rumble. The mew didn't know why, but he couldn't stop looking at him. A creature nowhere to be found back where he lived and he never got the chance to really examine one up close.
He also noticed that the boys head was full of hair, like most other humans he saw had. They all seemed to have their own style, but this kid seemed to have a bit of a messy hair, that looked kind of fluffy, making him want to touch it. He didn't know why but the more he saw the human as a pokemon. Very similar to the other humanoid pokemon he met in the wild.
Minutes pass, and after watching him for a long while, the mew suddenly became very drowsy. The world began to blur and the warmth of the room was not helping hid case. Seconds later, he fell asleep, right on top of Mark, and remained there for the rest of the night.
(I've decided to redo my entire story since I found way too many mistakes from my previous one.)
