Twentieth returning Jump Girl for Month of Pink; Anita King from Read or Die.

-:-

A sense of danger was in the air as the young, pink-haired paper master stared down her older sisters with great intensity.

"Is…Is something wrong, Anita dear?" asked Michelle, although she had a good idea of why the child was upset.

"Why are we out of food…again?" demanded Anita, her gaze narrowing even further as if she was trying to incinerate her sisters. "I swear if you spent all of our money on books again!"

Anita watched as Michelle and Maggie just hung their heads, having been caught.

"W-We're sorry, Anita," said Maggie, unable to look her sister in the eye.

"But so many new books came out today that we just had to get them!" explained Michelle, even though she knew it would be pointless.

The child let out a growl through clenched teeth. "Why? Why is it that I'm the youngest, but I'm the one who is the most responsible?! I should not have to be the one making sure we have food for the week!"

Frustration was building and it could be seen as tears came to Anita's eyes, making Michelle and Maggie feel even guiltier for having spent all of their money on books. They immediate brought the child into a hug and held her close.

"We are so sorry, Anita. We mean it," stated Maggie, unwilling to let Anita go as the little one struggled.

"Maggie's right, Anita dear, and we both promise that we will try and keep are love for books from making important decisions," added Michelle, running her hand through pink locks to try and calm Anita down.

"…Do you really promise or are you just saying that?" came the muffled question, her head buried in Michelle's shoulder.

"Of course we promise, Anita dear! Maggie and I may make mistakes, but we have never lied to you. You know that."

Anita lifted her head to look at her sisters, seeing the sincerity in their eyes. Even though she was still angry that they had no food, she figured she could forgive them.

"Fine, but next time this happens I won't hold back!" declared Anita, puffing out her cheeks slightly.

That earned some giggles from the older two paper masters.

"Very well. Now then, why don't we go out and find some odd jobs to do so we can earn some money for food?" suggested Michelle.

"Only if I get to hold onto the money," replied the child, giving the others a no nonsense look.

"…That would be acceptable," stated the blonde with a nervous smile, while Maggie nodded in agreement.

Beaming in victory, Anita quickly grabbed her jacket and her frog wallet before she ran out the door with Michelle and Maggie in tow.

Hopefully they would find something soon. She still needed her daily milk!
