| What relationship do you have with my savior?|

Maple put a hand on her chin thinking about a bit.

|Hum… he's a friend or rather an acquaintance, something like a rival! Or even better, a sworn archenemy! yeah, we could said that we are the best archenemys of this world|

Maple exclaimed proudly, and whit a good amount of self-assurance that quickly felt into doubt as her brain continued working.

|but IF you met Ainz Ooal Gown, does that mean you met Momonga?|

Enry was conflicted at the cute yet terrifying girl in front of her,

|Momonga?| She asked

|Momonga!| Maple repeated | He is a big cute skeleton in purple extravagant dress, he is the leader of Ainz Ooal Gown!|

Enry was a bit confused, that description fits Ainz, were Ainz and Momonga the same person? Unless there was another skeleton called Momonga that was the boss of the one who saved her it seemed like there was some kind of misunderstanding with the name, trying to clear up her suspicions and somewhat worried that this monster with the skin of a girl would decide to eat her and Nemu, Enry tried to hide behind Ainz's name.

|A purple-robed skeleton, rescued us and promised by the name of Ainz Ooal Gown that he would protect us, after that he sent a giant skeleton with a large shield to save the village… |

As Enry narrated, Maple suddenly ducked her head and interrupted her.

| Did it come to help? Now I feel a little bad for eataing it.|

However, the girl did not look guilty at all, sticking out her tongue as if she were waiting to be forgiven for that as if it was nothing, but something about how she treated life like as game made Enry's skin crawl, her attitude so relaxed and silly, that simply didn't fit with all the blood soaking her armor. It terrified her to the core and made her tremble, that's when Enry noticed that one of the villagers had started to move, apparently the paralysis effect was wearing off, somewhat clumsy and staggering the villager slipped behind Maple with a sword broken in the hands. Enry knew that an attack of that magnitude wouldn't hurt Maple, she had seen her take hits from the goblins without even bothering to react, an uneasiness filled Enry as she tried to warn the villager.

She wanted to tell him to get away from her, to run as far as he could and get help, but it was too late, the sword fell quickly to the back of Maple's head.

Bonk-! Only to be shatter into a thousand pieces upon crashing into Maple wall-like head. (and no, I'm not calling her stupid... :) trust me)

|Hum? | Maple was somewhat taken aback by the noise of metal breaking, she turned around and saw the villager standing in shock with the handle of the sword in his hands. |Huh? Why are you attacking me if I just saved you all?|

The villager was equal parts terrified and confused but he managed to muster some shaky words. |S-save us? Y-you weren't about to eat us?|

Maple suddenly stepped back in offense, and with a depressed face she turned to Syroup.

|Am I really that scary?|

Syroup lovingly comforted Maple, she was indeed someone quite terrifying in the game, but she had never instilled fear in an NPC beacause it was imposible before this update to make the NPCs shake whit fear, this was a new experience for her and although she couldn't say that that her enemies feared her gave her something like a feeling of superiority, but that the people she was trying to save feared her was something wrong for her, Maple vaguely remembered that someone once said that it is better to be hated than loved…or was it the other way? Well the point is that that was a phrase use for a dictator and she was never a dictator with her allies! (but hey, her food never had any rights to begin with) Maple never really saw NPCs as food though... well this time just enemies NPCs, so the verbal abuse got her down... for a couple of seconds before she got distracted for the softiness of Syroup.

The atmosphere in the Carne village was gloomy and heavy, everyone was still mourning the deads of ther fiends and family, also they were too terrified by the girl-skinned monster that was negotiating the reward with the village chief, however if something could further alter the souls of The poor villagers was the arrival of another good amount of knights, but to the peace of the villagers, this time they carried the banner of the kingdom and it didn't seem that they were about to slaughter them all... at the least.

They rode along the hillside with an imposing-looking man at their head, a warrior with no doubt, noble bearing and a hard gaze that would not pass up any evil in this world. However, everyone in this village felt reluctant to let some hope resurface in their souls, not until the monster that could eat them at any time left the village after receiving the reward or it were killed.

In mutual agreement all the villagers made way for the leader of those knights to the entrance of the chief's house.

Gazef was somewhat confused by the actions of the villagers, it was good to see that most of them were alive but the evidence of a battle was more than obvious, more than a battle, perhaps a masquerade but the bodies were missing for some reason, however at least two dozen people had died on the planced baced on the amount of blood that accumulated dry in the square, and always without a single corpse, it also did not seem that there was a mass grave in the vicinity, and apart from some graves being dug for dead villagers there was nothing. A shiver ran through Gazef, this all seemed like something out of a horror story.

| Are these gold coins?!|

A cute and cheerful voice came from inside the hut catching Gazef's attention, but when he entered the hut the thing inside made him draw his sword instantly while all the hairs on his body stood on end.

|Wow! Why is someone pointing a sword at me again?| Maple exclaimed with a mixture of confusion and exhaustion. | Is there some aggression-caller skill I forgot to disable?|

Gazef didn't know where that fear came from, that feeling of self-preservation that the girl in front of him produced on him, that restlessness, that cute thought terrifying appearance, she loked cute, but her armor and mouth were staind with dry blood. Refusing to hesitate, Gazef started the conversation.

| What thing are you?| Though not in the best way one could say, his tone was strong and commanding, ready to swing his sword at any hint of something he didn't knew yet.

|Thing? It's rude to call someone a thing!| Maple crossed her arms with a cute pout. | Also, if you want to know someone's name, you must first introduce yourself|

The disconnect between Maple's tender performance and the fear he felt looking at her made Gazef grit his teeth, the fear threatened to take over him. Killing that feeling with sheer force of will was difficult, for the more he focused on her tender demeanor and he saw the good intentions behind her the more the incongruity and fear scratching deep into his mind. Refusing to loosen the grip on his weapon, Gazef introduced himself with a dubious tone.

|Gazef Stronoff warrior captain of the Kingdom of Re-Estize|

sorry for the slow progress, the chapters are a bit short, you see, it's a shame to fall short before reaching the good part, but hey, I love seeing Maple's terrified people, just imagine what will happen when she finds out that she is not in a game...

P.S. How strong is Maple really? In my opinion nothing (or almost nothing) can if she wants to go through Maple, I would say that even Ainz has headaches with her defense, but as for attack? Atrocity Maple or Machine God can deal damage to Ainz? Or even better, [Shield Bash] that scales based on defense... Is that a nuke? What do you think?
