Chapter 31: Happy Birthday pt.1
With the end of Jibola's reign, the new prince of the tribes absconded his rule, surprising everyone, especially his rival. At first, the idea was for his mother, Cecilia, to take the throne and be done with it all, but after a lengthy discussion, he filed his first, and final, edict. This proclamation would grant independence to each tribe, affording them the ability to self-govern from this point on while maintaining their respective cultures.
Travis cared more about how it affected his and Tori's relationship. Knowing that they could still be together brought a smile to his face, one that was filled with peace and solace. Unknown to him, the younger Vega was ecstatic about his decision. Her attempt at maturity would only last so long as their first night together was spent with the pair staying up watching romantic comedies until the sun came up.
Needless to say, their decision had lasting consequences when school resumed that Monday.
The others felt the effects of the festival's events, especially Robbie. The nerd couldn't fathom why Ahrya would leave without saying goodbye but with his memory in shambles of most of the events that occurred, he settled on the explanation that she had to depart due to familial issues. It wasn't a complete lie, but it did little to ease the stress on his mind.
However, the main couple was absent, well... sort of...
After recovering from his injuries, Liam had been focused on school life in such a way that truly made his friends and allies concerned. The greatest amount would come from the most obvious source despite his attempts to pretend otherwise. His mind had been a jumbled mess, worrying about the past and his future, seemingly removing the boy from the present day.
He managed to avoid a confrontation with the goth during lunch, only to endure what felt like an excruciatingly slow afternoon. Once the final bell rang, he wasted little time moving toward his locker. With his knowledge of Jade's schedule (and a bit of luck) Liam made it to his destination without being caught by any of his friends, even the random Cat Valentine.
On top of that, he was also dealing with upcoming finals and performances that just sent his stress levels into overdrive. It was clear that he was ready for the weekend so he could put the last few days behind him.
By now, he had placed the very last of his books in his locker, thoughts of solitude providing him with a whisper of peace.
"Maybe I'll just listen to some good music and go to sleep..." he muttered to an invisible confidante.
Shutting the door, he managed to trudge away when something caught his attention.
A piece of paper had been taped to the front of the locker door with the words 'To Liam' written on the front. He wasted no time in removing it from its temporary home, scanning the contents diligently.
To Liam,
Before you leave, you forgot your book in the Black Box.
I wanted to bring it to you, but, I didn't see you after class so I left it behind the front curtain if you wanted to pick it up.
Raising a skeptical eyebrow, he let a sigh pass from his lips before heading to the aforementioned location. The irritation, previously adorning him like a coat, was now more like a mask that clutched and twisted his features. Each step only added to the emotional storm brewing in the pit of his stomach until it was at full strength upon his arrival.
The inside of the room was still fully lit, no doubt from someone using it to practice their lines or something like earlier. Liam then rechecked the handwritten letter before breaking into a light jog; the sooner he grabbed that book, the faster he could get to his home and succumb to an emotional coma. To his shock, he found no book. Instead, there was another letter, much to his ever-growing annoyance.
Angrily, he snatched the infernal note to scour the information left on it.
Dear Liam,
Sorry about lying about the book. But, I wanted to help you out, if possible.
I've noticed that you've been moody this week and that you weren't with your girlfriends as much as you normally are.
It's none of my business but, if you'd like to, maybe you could meet me at the Asphalt Cafe or you could just disregard this letter altogether and go home. Either way is fine...
Signed, Admirer.
P.S. I held onto your book for safekeeping if you were wondering.
"Give me a break," he groaned, rubbing his now sore temples. "Someday this is turning out to be."
At this point, nothing was stopping him from just ignoring the gut feeling telling him to go home. Unfortunately, there was one issue with that choice:
He'd be leaving behind his Tech book, which he needed for an upcoming final the following week...
"Fuck my life..." he huffed, storming out of the room, unaware of a pair of eyes that had been tracking his every move.
"The wolf has left the den," the figure muttered. "He's heading to the Asphalt now."
"Roger that, meet us at the rendezvous point."
"Copy."
The sounds of sneakers screeching against tiles made Liam even more disturbed as he trudged down the different corridors. By now, his chest was practically pounding and his heart rate just never seemed to diminish as he neared his target.
"All of this for a stinkin' book..." he grumbled, mentally calculating the identity of the poor soul he was planning on chewing out.
Finally, he'd reached one of the doorways leading to the outside lounge, where, without delay, he shoved the door open, ready to unleash his secretly rehearsed verbal tirade. Nevertheless, he'd never get an opportunity to do that once he recognized who the person was.
Sitting at their conventional table was none other than the casual gothic princess, complete with her signature grin, looking back at him amusingly.
"Took you long enough, Tiger..."
Crossing his arms, Liam let out all the air he never realized he'd been holding in him all of this time. At this point, he wasn't sure if he was relieved or annoyed at the dark-haired girl.
"Am I to assume that you're the one who wrote the note?" he droned, holding up the piece of paper for her to see.
"Nope!" she slowly shook her head, approaching him in a way resembling a feline predator. "We both know I'm... more of the up-close and direct type anyway."
"Do I really?" he watched as she pulled away just enough to look him dead in the eye, almost as if his words had burned her. "It seems that I don't know you as well as I thought. Do I?"
Jade didn't know what stung more, the actual inquiry or the icy tone behind it.
She chanced to look into his eyes and saw a myriad of torture within those emerald orbs; it was clear where this was coming from.
"I take it that you're here for the book, correct?"
"..."
Slowly, her hands dropped to her sides as an uneasy stillness permeated the area around them. Jade then slowly walked to the usual table and grabbed the book, eyeing it with disdain, before tossing it maliciously at the young man, though, she missed him completely as it plopped on the concrete next to him. It didn't matter to her as she began to walk towards the parking lot.
"Here..." her tone was as cold as her blue eyes. "Enjoy your study session."
"Jade..."
"No!" she roared. "Just, go back to your seclusion asshole...!"
"Is that all?"
Liam instantly regretted uttering such a question, watching Jade's head tilt with that dangerous gleam in her eye. To call this anger staring back at him would be grossly inaccurate as she stalked forward. Apprehension mixed with defiance, a standard characteristic of those who dare challenge Jade West, rooting the boy in place as he awaited her response to his frigid attitude as of late.
That would come in the form of the hardest slap he'd ever felt. The sting on his cheek wasn't what snapped him out of his funk but a deep kiss that drew a stifled gasp only for it to morph into the sharpest of moans. Instinct quickly caught up to them as Liam moved his hands to the small of her back without prompting. His eyes closed as she sighed, her brand of lullaby that he savored for as long as they remained in this position...
"You... You're an idiot," she whispered, still frowning as they parted. Thankfully, the anger had melted away, leaving only worry. "I know what you think about yourself and I know that you haven't let go of what happened at the tournament. If I could be selfish for a moment, I'd say that you made the right decision."
"Did I?" he eked out, trying hard to compose himself.
"You did!" she affirmed swiftly. "Unless you wanted to be the king of a nation of people and leave me... I mean... everything behind, forfeiting your right to the crown was the only logical decision. Sure, Queen Jade has a ring to it, but we both know I'm not the royal type. On top of that, we both know how much this meant for Travis to repair his relationship with his mom."
Liam knew that Jade's points were valid, but he didn't miss the blunder she made either.
"How are you so certain that I would've taken you with me?"
"Please! If not me, then who?" Jade mocked playfully, failing to hide the hue of pink that was clawing its way onto her face. "Vega? Cat? None of them could hold a candle to me and don't you dare try to debate me!"
Liam chuckled at her passionate claim, forgetting the circumstances that brought them here.
"I wouldn't argue that, even if I could, Jade. You're the only one for me and that's never going to change."
"Never say never, Liam."
"NEVER..." his fingers caressed the curves of her back, his touch making the girl shiver pleasantly. He followed this by kissing her cheek and tasting the warmth of her skin on his lips.
When he pulled away, Jade took a good look at his features, preferably his jawline. While traces of hair had begun to form there, she wasn't concentrated on his next stage of puberty. Instead, her eyes flashed with what some would call a premonition, a haunting one that forced her to pull away. Liam tried to ask what was the matter, but she only responded by placing her fingers on a spot above his jugular.
Immediately, an image of her drawing her scissors and cutting him played out as if she executing the deed. The speed and accuracy of her attack. Her burst of rage. Instant remorse as she watched the blood pouring from his wound. Of course, his pained smile was the point that cut the deepest.
Oh, how she was grateful that she accidentally forgot her favorite scissors at home today!
"Jade? Are you alright?"
Moments later, the two just sat there, shrouded in more muteness, this time, the more comfortable kind. Green and blue were locked in serene ambiguity after the tense events that had transpired between them. Portals lead to the soul each transferring the two's inner thoughts to the opposite.
"I guess I am..." she smiled softly, finally resting her head on his plush hoodie. "Are you?"
"Aside from my face burning still, I'm good. It could always be worse."
You have no idea, Tiger.
"Well, it's about to get much better tonight..." she mused, enjoying the second he flinched out of confusion. He wouldn't be her Liam "Don't tell me you forgot this special day after all."
His silence spoke volumes, proving her point.
"Be happy I love you, dork. If I didn't..."
"You'd have the point of your scissors aimed at my neck?"
"Nope! You'd have a fist to your jaw and a knee to the groin, birthday boy!" she giggled, jabbing a digit into his hoodie. Her humor only increased when he caught on to what she was doing, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. He found himself shushed by her finger trailing to his lips. "You know? I was supposed to lead you to Sikowitz's room for a surprise party, but I think I have a better idea for your special day."
Liam couldn't help but swallow the lump in his throat. Even with his visible nervousness, Jade could make out the tiniest hint of intrigue dancing behind his emerald pools.
"Lead the way?"
"Thought you'd never ask. Come on, tiger..."
True to Jade's words, the room was filled with waiting classmates and their favorite teacher. Elation would soon morph into confusion with the ring leader, Tori, placing her hand on her hips.
"Where are you guys, Jade?" she poked out her lip.
Many ideas developed in Jade's head but only one bore hefty ramifications. She threw her hair over her shoulders and got to work getting her bra off, accomplishing the task after a few tries, revealing herself to Liam. Next came the panties which she tossed behind her. There was only one last obstacle in the goth's way: Liam's Boxers. With one look, she found him removing the underwear as if the things were on fire. Free of the cotton restraints, his sex flopped out, extending to its fullest potential.
Now content, Jade resumed her mission, crawling over the boy who touched her heart with an eagerness that knew no equal. He watched as their skin grazed his own, willing to endure the tiny jolts of electricity surging throughout him as long as he possibly could. Animal-like urges threatened to break through his core if Jade didn't make a move to follow through with her goal.
He didn't have to wait long as she guided her lower half directly over his manhood, licking her lips hungrily in anticipation. Liam bit back the moan creeping up his throat, experiencing Jade to the highest degree possible in a physical realm. While he focused on restraining himself, he missed the sharp gasp from his gothic lover, only concentrating on her warmth enveloping his shaft.
"It's bigger than I thought." she moaned; her vagina sliding down his length slowly until she was, once again, sitting on his lap.
The only response was a pleasant one; one would dare say it was empowering to hear Liam moan and hiss in ecstasy.
They remained that way for a few minutes, neither quite ready for what was inevitable. It was Liam though who finally made some form of movement, leaning forward. While sitting up, Jade leaned down and claimed her much-awaited reward. She rocked her hips, her cravings and desires consuming her better judgment of pacing herself. She wasn't a selfish lover though as she guided a stunned Liam to her breasts, happy when he wrapped his lips around one of her nipples.
"Fuck, Jade!" he finally groaned when she picked up the pace.
"Just breathe, Liam!" she exhaled his name as he massaged her inner walls, now wet from his girth stretching her slightly with each thrust. Add to that his oral fascination with her D-cup breasts and Jade was in a world of ecstasy the likes she hadn't experienced since her very first time. "Think of other things. Don't lose control, or you'll be in trouble."
Being the inexperienced one, Liam did his best to comply with her playful yet menacing tone. He was grateful when she slowed down her motions to afford her lover the chance of relishing this moment. That didn't mean that she was planning on dialing back the aggression as the two found themselves rolling around in her bed. The tussle would only end when Jade found her head hanging over the edge of the bed.
"Much better than some boring party, right?" she breathlessly hummed, staring into his eyes.
"Do you even have to ask?" he wagged his brows playfully, showing that he'd been adjusting to their game of tangled limbs. As he gingerly adjusted their positions back to the middle of the bed. His eyes were full of love and lust, unspoken gratitude that made her chest hitch slightly. "I just hope your parents don't walk in on us!"
Jade couldn't contain the rumble of laughter that ripped through her rigid breaths. Even when his pleasure was supposed to be the priority, he was still concerned about her.
"Mother dearest is with my baby brother and dad...?" she paused for a moment, closing her eyes to compose herself. "He's off on another business trip. So, we're in the clear."
Emerald locked onto sapphire reservoirs, now showing a sight that she despised: Pity.
"It's their loss then..." he shrugged, chuckling softly.
While she knew Liam's heart was in the right place, Jade was in no mood for ruining her gift to him. This was his time to be the center of attention and she wasn't about to have it end this way.
"You're amazing Jade."
His words tickled her heart while his lips caressed her glistening skin. She wrapped her arms around him, not content with giving up her reign of dominance. She lightly grazed his skin with her nails, sharp talons flirting with his back. Such a warning went unheeded as his tongue found her neck and his manhood slowly returned to the warmth of her arousal, making her arch her back and moan his name.
As his thrusts gathered steam, Jade couldn't resist crying out his name as he rolled his hips, surrendering to the tempestuous stimulations flowing through her. Each nerve felt like a spark was lit as she sunk her sharp talons into his back, penetrating the protection of his skin. He winced as the warm red liquid pooled around her nails, eventually trickling down his back, and yet, he never lost his rhythm.
Despite his first time, Jade couldn't deny the beast that'd arrived. From his low growl through a gritted grin to the way he latched his lips to her neck, Jade had unleashed a monster, one that she didn't mind meeting again soon.
"...Liam..." Jade whimpered, eyes starting to roll back.
"I know..." he smiled, steadying his motions.
The amount of sweat from his actions found its way to his wounds, pushing him even further.
His swelling remained firm inside of her, Liam felt her flower tightening around him, caressing him with each snap of his hips. He knew she was close, and he wasn't going to stop until she reached her high point. No more words were needed, their bodies were more than capable of doing all of the necessary communication.
His raven-haired goddess beneath him gripped the sheets. Her legs instinctively wrapped around his waist, though not tight enough to prevent his exit. She closed her eyes, immersing herself in the ascension of her orgasm until it hit. Jade's mouth opened wide, yet no sound came out besides the occasional gasp. Her climax though only for a few moments, felt like it would never end. Her vision muddied as she felt her sexual discharge flow down to the full extent of her now, beaming boyfriend.
Liam stared at her with a concerned frown, but Jade's lopsided grin would put his worries to rest. Slowly, but surely, their attempts at recovery grew more powerful as their chests heaved for air.
"Jade?"
"Hmmm?"
"Are you okay?"
"Mhmm.." she nodded slowly.
"Good." he leaned forward, lifting her legs in the air while stealing a kiss from the sex-drunk girl. "Now we can get some sleep."
"Wait, what?"
Jade didn't have a chance to protest, instead, moaning softly while he withdrew himself from her. The feeling of emptiness forced her to pout in disappointment but, more importantly, she was growing increasingly concerned about her partner. Feeling her questioning gaze burrowing a hole through him, he plopped next to her, cradling her in his arms. Every attempt she made to ask about his orgasm was thwarted by him placing a kiss on a random part of her body; sour sweat and her sweet skin made for the perfect combination in his opinion.
However, even he knew that this could only last so long before he'd be forced to give her some form of an answer.
"Relax, Jade... I'm just tired and my leg is starting to cramp up. Let's rest and see if we can try it again when we wake up."
Much to her surprise, and annoyance, he chuckled softly before a yawn escaped his lips. Jade let out a light huff but agreed to the terms, using the last bit of her remaining strength to crawl on top of the equally exhausted boy.
"Fine. We'll rest, Tiger, but heed my words," she bit his lip, making sure she had his undivided attention. "When I say it's your moment, I suggest you accept my gift; we both know how selfish I can get about what's mine, and now that you've made me feel this... Just... Just be ready for more sneaking around."
"I love you too, Jade!" he blinked groggily, kissing her nose.
Jade's lips curled up as her boyfriend continued to lose his battle with consciousness. He was a lightweight in terms of endurance, but the potential was there. For now, she'd plant a kiss and head to the bathroom. Wiping off the shiny layer, she mulled over what else she could perform with Liam when her phone went off. Rushing back to the infernal device, she thanked the deities that Liam was a heavy sleeper as she snatched it from her dresser, eyes flaring up at the name that popped up.
"What do you want, Tori?!" she snarled, a mix of frustration and annoyance.
"What happened to you guys?!" the Latina snapped back. "Sikowitz and the others were waiting for you ever since school ended!"
"Oh, right... We um... We had a misunderstanding and Liam needed some medical attention."
"Oh my gosh! Is he alright?"
Jade rolled her eyes upon hearing her frenemy's over-sensitive reply.
"Yeah. We had a small accident and he's at my house resting. Nothing serious happened so you don't have to worry alright? We'll just reschedule and I'll make sure Liam's there too. Alright?"
Tori agreed to the terms, opting not to push the situation any further. Meanwhile, Jade didn't waste time hanging up when a wicked grin crossed her features. An idea of how to take advantage of the approaching weekend began to swim around her brain as she crawled into bed. A little shuffling and she was curled up on her lover's chest with a sigh of satisfaction.
"Happy Birthday, Liam..." she yawned before slumber took over.
