Chapter 3: (Un)Lucky Wind

oOoOoOoOoOo

Dear Diary,

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! Oh! My! God! I can't believe it! I still can't believe it happened! But let's start from the beginning, or you won't understand anything :(

Although, to tell the truth, I really don't know why I'm in this café right now, writing this message on yet another napkin, when just having written the first message on a napkin caused all this mess.

Alya's probably gonna build the napkin a shrine. But let's focus.

Earlier on, I went to the normal place for the start of patrol. Chat Noir was already there before me, as usual. He seemed lost in his thoughts, so I sat next to him and waited for him to notice my presence. A nice excuse to get lost in staring at him and daydreaming about him without him noticing. Ok, forget about my last sentence!

Only…I didn't realise how strong the wind was, and that I was sitting right in the direction it was blowing. Also, I didn't notice that Chat Noir had a piece of paper suspiciously looking like a napkin hanging out of the pocket of his suit, which the wind threatened to take away.

Or rather, I didn't notice it until the wind succeeded in its intent and tore it out of his pocket to slap it right in my face! And I know I shouldn't have. It was his stuff, private, and I had no right to read it. But my eye just fell on it and...I saw my name. And I'm not talking about my superhero name or one of the nicknames he gives me. My actual name, MARINETTE! Why did Chat Noir have a napkin in his pocket, containing a letter no less, addressed to me…me?

As I freaked out, he realised I was there, and that his letter had fallen into my hands, so he started trying to get it back, but I didn't let him—my curiosity was too great. They say, "curiosity killed the cat…", well, I think it should be "the bug" because as I started reading the letter, my world literally collapsed on me.

It was a response to yesterday's message in my diary, which only ONE person other than me had read.

And it was signed ADRIEN AGRESTE.

He was telling me that he loves me. Can I die in peace now? 3 3

I was so shocked that I put my foot in the wrong place and slipped across half the roof, hitting my nose so hard that it began bleeding even with the protection of the magic suit. Luckily, Chat was there; he caught me and then helped me clean my nose with disinfectant and put a band-aid on it. I was so ashamed! He couldn't look me in the eye, either.

He tried to find an excuse, but frankly, it was a much worse excuse than the one I told him when he caught me in his room on Saint Athanese's Day. Eventually, I had to tell him I knew who he was. And somehow, he had also managed to understand it was me (only have myself to blame! Had I not given him that napkin yesterday, he'd never have figured me out).

Of course, I'm hopeless. Only I could try to get over Adrien Agreste by falling in love with... Adrien Agreste all over again. How thick can I be? °_°;

I must say that he's a much better kisser when he's awake and not under an Akuma's influence. Uh, forget what I just wrote! Nobody must know!

I love him so much. Okay, forget this too. What's wrong with me today?! I'll destroy this napkin as soon as I get home. Mhhhh it may be better if I destroy it now. You may never know. I'd never forget what happened today anyway.

Do you want to know a secret, diary? Before I destroy this page?

I'M SO HAPPY IT'S HIM!

Yours,

Marinette

Fin

Author's Note:

Hello there! Here we are, this entry ends the story for the napkin challenge. Hope you liked it ^-^!

If you want to see the actual napkins I wrote the stories on, please visit my ao3 profile since FFN doesn't like the idea of posting links. The actual picture of the real napkin I use is published on the story I shared on Ao3!

I must say I'm grateful and surprised by all the feedback I got for this silly story. I'm so delighted to know that you all enjoyed it! Maybe I should write on napkins more often LOL. It's been a pleasure to write this story and post it for you all.

Please let me know what you thought of this chapter in a comment. I'm always open to dialogue, I don't mind ANY type of feedback! To all of you who will write a review or a comment for this story, thank you so much! You always make my day!

In reply to those who were concerned about "Passion", I plan to post chapter 5 this coming Saturday and hopefully chapter 6 the following one. But unfortunately, I'm relying on my friend whose birthday I wrote the story for to read it before I publish. And unfortunately again, she's been very busy and hasn't been able to read the final chapters yet. So I hope she manages to read chapter 5 before Saturday, but if she can't, it'll have to wait. Sorry about that. The story is complete on my doc file, but I want my friend to be the first one to read it, hope you understand!

Also, in reply to all of you who inquired as to whether I take on commissions, either paid or unpaid: 1. I do NOT and will NEVER take on PAID commissions because it's illegal. 2. While I write stories for the birthday of friends, I usually don't take on commissions, even unpaid, because I have very little time and MANY, many stories in my head, so I don't have the time to also work on other people's ideas. Sorry about that. If you have a prompt that you feel is interesting and you want someone to write it for you, please join the Fanworks server (link in next paragraph). In that server, there's a "writing prompts" channel where you can write the prompt for anyone to grab. Also, now there's an event to celebrate the server's anniversary where the team of writers of the server takes on prompts that are submitted using a form, so you can submit the prompt through that and one of the writers of the Fanworks team will take your prompt on; DEFINITELY!
