Hello Internet. Wanderingtree here and I have a message for you all at the end of this chapter.
Chapter 10
Inma
Varus smiled and chuckled at the sight of his daughter trying to reach for a jar of cookies, even with a chair, the blonde giantess continued to struggle to reach for the cookies.
"Papa, could you please help me" she looked at him and gave him puppy eyes as she pointed at the cookies. Varus simply walked up to the cupboard and grabbed the jar with ease. He picked out the biggest cookie he could find and offered it to her. Inma happily accepted it.
"Thank you, papa!" She smiled.
"Anything for my little girl" Varus smiled back.
"I'm not that small." Inma pouted.
"You're right, your bigger than any humans from our bedtime stories." Inma's father shrugged.
"Hey!" The blonde child exclaimed.
"I'm just teasing you, no need to get worked up." Varus chuckled and rubbed his child's head. "Now that nobody is feeling down and the weather is normal again, how would you like to spend the afternoon in town?"
Inma pondered for a moment, she didn't enjoy being outdoors because not only did the village get rowdy, but because the ground was uneven, it forced the young giantess to be attentive and to not injure her feet. Yet, she figured Jack would like to see more of the land than just her home. Besides, she needed to go find new clothes for her friend. She was willing to bet that Jack didn't bring extra clothes and the scent on his current attire was becoming noxious.
"I…I'd like that. Could I also buy something for myself?" Inma quipped sheepishly.
Wow, you usually want to stay home instead. You're more than welcome to buy anything, just as long as I don't have to sell our house." Inma's father chuckled.
"Papa, I love our home way too much to give it away." the blond child giggled.
"I got our lunch ready, but if you find yourself wanting more, here is some extra money to spend." Varus offered his child 50 pesetas.
"Thanks papa" Inma smiled softly. Upon hearing this particular section of the conversation, Jack couldn't help but feel as though Varus remark about selling their home was a jab at him. Perhaps, this was the work of karma. Before the young giantess could run back home, Varus called for her attention.
"Hold up, while you're inside, be sure to put on your sandals" Inma's father places his hands on his hips.
"Do I have to? You know I don't like wearing shoes. They make my feet feel cramped." Inma whined.
"Either you put on your shoes or you'll hurt yourself like last time." Inma's father replied unfazed by his child's whining.
"Yes father." Inma sighed in defeat. About a year ago, the young giantess ran all over town until she had bumped into someone who then dropped a bag of potatoes onto her foot. She recovered since but her father has had to constantly remind her to wear shoes, at least when they go outside. Inma returned to the house and grabbed a pair of sandals. As she pulled her hair up, it was then she located the whereabouts of her little human.
"Jack, how are you holding?" Inma expressed with concern, staring at a nearby mirror.
"I'm still stuck, so I have no plans to go any hair." Jack looked up sheepishly at his captor only to find Inma with a deadpanned expression. Clearly not impressed with attempt to lighten the mood.
Sorry. Jack replied timidly. "You can get me out of your hair right?
"Not now, but once my dad and I enter the town, I promise to free you. J-just hang on for a bit more"
"Please hurry, I can't feel my limbs." The young farmer pleaded.
The blonde child felt a sting in her heart, but she needed to meet up with her dad to not raise any suspicion. Inma was thankful her father was much taller than her because if he caught whiff of her hair, worst case scenario: he would imprison Jack and keep him around like a pet. Best case scenario: She would be asked to wash her hair. It was a risk she didn't want to take. Inma caught up with her dad who approved of her footwear, and then they walked towards town.
The town today was particularly crowded because it was the yearly celebration of the founder of the land, Ginortus. The streets were cleaned and those near the town square were filled with an abundance of food such as, but not limited to turkey legs, Scottish eggs, fish and chips, deep fried artichoke, pork sandwiches, tacos, and beignets.
Inma's father waved goodbye to his daughter and let her do her own thing. While he loved spending time with his daughter, Varus enjoyed these moments where he can talk to people his age and keep up with latest news. He can only hope that Inma would have a good time on their outing for once.
The young giantess was able to hide in a corner away from the crowd and used the window a vacant shop to get a better view of Jack as she freed him, though with some struggle. She then cupped him in her hand.
Jack
"Jack, stay with me. Are your hands and feet okay? I-I'm sure you must be thankful to be out of my hair right?" Inma said awkwardly.
"Inma, relax. I'm going to be fine." Jack replied calmly and moved around. He winced as his hand made contact with her pinky. Once the charcoaled-hair teen felt the tension from his giant friend reduced, he rubbed her palm with his hand as a sign of encouragement.
"Sure my hands and feet hurt, not to mention I probably won't be able to write for a few days…" Jack looked up at Inma who tucked her head and shut her eyes tightly. "BUT, I'm okay. Let's go back to the town square and get something to eat. I'm famished." Jack said with a hint of excitement.
Inma smiled at her little man and placed him into her chest pocket, surveyed the area for a moment before going back to the crowd. Usually when Inma placed him in her pocket, Jack would comply and make himself comfy, but this was not the case. Jack truly wanted to experience his adventure first-hand, an opportunity far more enriching than any fairytale could've done. He knew that there would be trouble if someone spotted him moving about. He decided to only expose his head and arms as a means to cling onto the top of Inma's pocket.
"Surely these giants wouldn't notice someone like me right?" Jack wondered.
The tiny farmer clinged onto his captor's jacket and stared at awed the size of a grey stone fence that Inma surpassed ever so slightly. The wall alone would put the hedges of the king's castle of his world to shame. Not to mention that the wall could easily squish his homeland should it fall. Jack could see the festival from afar, given roaring sound of laughter and shouting. He was without a doubt eager to get a view of what giants like to do for fun or a daily basis; he couldn't have been happier to have come about a day where there'd by mountain of food everywhere in sight. He had a nibble earlier, but as a growing boy, he knew that what he had wasn't enough to fill his stomach and living in a famine for so long, it took all his willpower to control himself.
All of a sudden, Jack felt a gut feeling and instinctively tucked his head underneath Inma's chest pocket. It turned out to be a good move on his part because two boys around Inma's age block her from walking any further.
Inma
"Hey look, it's the dwarf! She's finally come out of the forest."
"you're right, we can bring her over to our friends and prove she's real." The other boy snickered, following his friend's rhetoric.
"P-Please step out of the way. I'm supposed to meet with my papa." The young giantess said anxiously while trembling.
"You hear that Vorag? This midget thinks she can boss us just because her dad is the biggest freak in the land." Both boys laughed wickedly.
The blonde child face became red from embarrassment; however, she stood her ground. "It's not like that at all. I-I just want to enjoy my day" She replied timidly as she flinched while covering her face with her hands.
"Aww you hear that? The little mouse wants to be left alone. Let's say we rough her up a bit?" The first boy said sinisterly.
"Sure thing, Nogan." Vorag nodded as they looked down.
In the eyes of a human, Inma towered the world at the height of 60 feet. Despite this impressive feat, she was below the average height in the land of the giants. The average adult enjoyed surveying the word between 80-90 feet. Children around Inma's age on average reached 70 feet or higher. In other words, Not only did Inma suffer a disadvantage of being small, but was in no way capable of breaking free from her bullies grasp as Vorag picked up the young giantess by her hair, she screamed and begged to be let go, Inma's bullies snickered for they know no one would come to her aid while the festival was active.
Inma had never felt such excruciating pain in her life, she didn't know why they were unusually cruel today when the most she receive from them was being pushed or forced to give her money. The young giantess stopped wailing when she heard the boys talk about her pocket,
"Keep her still, there's something in her pocket" Nogan declared. Vorag obeyed his friend's demand and tilted his head in confusion when he saw what Nogan revealed in his hand.
"What is this? It looks like a doll, but it feels… different." Nogan narrowed his eyes to get a close up of this strange entity.
"What's the matter with you, pal? It's not like you never seen a girl play with dolls before." Vorag said.
"I'm serious, this thing feels—warm." Nogan bemoaned.
Inma had final become accustomed to the pain where she was able to open her eyes. Horror covered every inch of the young giantess's face once she spotted Jack in the hands of her bully. After all the times she beaten herself mentally for not being stronger or as tall as the other kids, Inma had never felt so helpless as her tiny friend could potentially die any second. The pain in her chest suddenly become a sense of fury, which resulted with the blonde child jabbing Vorag's side with her elbow, forcing him to flinch and released her.
Once Inma planted her feet on the ground, she placed her hand on the bark of a tree and commanded the branches near Nogan to slap him on the face several times. He tossed Jack up in the air to rub his face from the cuts he just received. She managed to catch him and gripped her grasp firmly yet carefully to protect her precious friend. Vorag was shocked as to what had transpired and couldn't believe his best friend had been bested by a girl who couldn't even talk properly.
"What did you do to Nogan, you freak?!" Vorag gritted his teeth in anger and prepared charging towards her. Inma simply turned her head and glared at him while the tree lifted its root off the ground and caused the second boy to fall flat on his face.
"You can hurt me, but don't you ever touch my precious doll again!" She growled as the boys became frozen in fear. It wasn't until some branches whipped the boys, causing them to flee from the scene.
"Wait until we tell our parents about this!" Vorag yelled while covering his face with his hand.
"Keep your stupid toy!" Nogan shouted, following his friend.
Once the boys were out of range, Inma calmed and opened her hand to check on Jack
Jack
The young farmer had been accustomed to Inma's careful grip on him. He knew she would protect him at all cost, but he never imagined that the young giantess was capable of such power. He tucked himself inside her palm, fully aware his world was about to flip. He was greeted by his friends face and blinded by the sudden light. He was relieved he to see his friend normal face once more. He shuddered when he heard her growl and could only imagined what expression she gave off. Yet there was a question he had dying to ask.
"Jack, I didn't mean to call you a doll, I-I was caught up in the moment and—" Inma stammered.
"HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" The charcoaled haired teen exclaimed. This caught the giantess off guard, but her face was now bright red from embarrassment, she couldn't help but to twirl her hair and crossed her feet with one another.
"I uh— I don't know. In fact, I didn't even know my powers could work like that. But yeah, that was awesome. I get picked on all the time but those two definitely deserved it. Maybe they think twice about bullying me or anyone." Inma calmed down and declared the final sentence proudly.
"I'm sure they will, but seriously, what are your powers?" Jack demanded.
"Watch this." Inma pulled down a branch closest to her hand when all of a sudden, an apple appeared out of nowhere. "This was the most I knew about my powers. Plus, it helps apples are my favorite fruits." Inma replied while giving Jack a playful wink.
"Do all giants have special powers? What kind of magic does your dad have? This is so surreal!" Jack announced as he put his hands on the sides of his head, overwhelmed by what he just witnessed. As embarrassed Inma was, she found Jack's reaction to her power's heartwarming; she began to giggle.
"I think I'm the only giant who has magic, I've been so scared to tell anyone; even to my father. I just don't know how he'll react if he sees my powers. The blonde child said solemnly.
"B-but you have no idea how happy I am you find my powers cool. Controlling plants may not mean much to my kind, but it's my magic and it makes me… me. You know?" Inma asked her tiny human.
"Yeah, I mean I can't say much because us humans don't have magic. But I agree that your magic makes you unique." Jack said and felt his head being rubbed gently by a giant finger.
"Thank you. If I somehow became evil, would you come to the rescue like a knight in shining armor and fight the big scary monster?" Inma asked him teasingly, hinting at herself.
It was now Jack's turn to be embarrassed this time. He didn't like being in the spotlight.
"That's not fair because there aren't as many monsters who are as pretty as you." Jack eyes widened because he didn't mean to say it out loud.
Before Inma could react, a giant from the festival managed to get everyone's attention.
"In ten minutes, the puppet is about to begin. To all the parents here today, now is the time to do any last-minute shopping and send them to the bathroom. I repeat: ten more minutes until every child gathers around for the puppet show!" Someone announced for all to hear.
Jack covered his ear and held closely to Inma's thumb. He looked up at her and she stuffed him back into her pocket.
"We better find a good spot for the puppet show. I heard this story plenty of times but maybe you'll learn something about us giants. Oh, I also want to buy something, so we gotta go." Inma said.
Jack nodded once more and relaxed as he could feel Inma stuffing him into the pocket again. He couldn't wait to try the wide variety of food based on the plethora of scents. He then began to get lost in his thoughts.
Maybe when this adventure is over, she can come to my world and save me and my people from the famine.
Inma
The young giantess scurried within the crowd in search of the perfect thing to buy. Her small stature made maneuvering a crowd convenient, but her eyes spotted something she took a sudden interest with: a two-story doll house with a brick roof tile and an exterior painted in grapefruit yellow with blue shutters.
She squeezed her way out and as she got a closer inspection, Inma focused closely on the details such as the rails were sturdy and more importantly, the doors and windows were operational. She decides one last factor by measuring its weight but to her surprise, it was fairly light in her arms. Her verdict could be summed in two words: It's perfect
Inma looks around and picks up Jack from her pocket and places him delicately in front of the doll house. Her tiny human quickly entered the house and gave Inma a thumbs up. Inma nodded and picked up the house and ran inside to find the shop owner. The blonde child was spooked when she heard an all too familiar voice.
"Welcome girly. Fancy seeing you back so soon!" The owner bellowed.
Inma found herself not flinching upon hearing her voice. She was still skittish but perhaps because of the loud noise outside didn't make this interaction as mind-numbing compared to yesterday. She was amazed by how different the shop feels. At first glance nothing looked out of the ordinary, but she came in enough times to notice the everything was dusted and the windows were shined. Even the shop keeper looked much cleaner, what with his hair looked taken care of and his beard was trimmed. Inma quickly realized this is only because of the festival but she liked this new look of his. Of course, it wouldn't be the same good ol' shop keeper without his infamous red large nose.
"I see you got a keen eye, kid. Can you believe that someone wanted to get rid of this? I mean I got no use for it but I could sell it for a pretty penny." The shop keeper said. Suddenly, the giant inhaled intensely and picked up a foreign scent. "I smell something funny in this dollhouse". Jack was frozen in fear when he found himself wrapped around the giant's fingers. Contrary to Inma's smooth and gently skin, the shop keeper's hand was rough and fear engulfed him as Jack knew with one careless act from the brute, the young farmer life would be over in an instant. How he was desperate to scream for help, but as he was lifted higher and closer to the giant's nose, he could only hope his captor would lose interest in him then winced after feeling the wind lifting upwards by a pair of giant nostrils.
The giant immediately pulled the "doll" away from his nose and gagged loudly.
"Whoa! When was the last time you washed this thing?! You'd think with this nose of mine that I could pick up anything. Tell you what, little missy? I'll give you this dollhouse for a discount and you can keep the doll. Heck, I'll even wash it for free"
Up to this point, Inma sighed with relieved as she thought the shop keeper would learn about Jack, she had no idea how to talk her way out. The young giantess thought she was in the clear until she saw the giant walk towards the bathroom sink and once the sound of running water was audible to her, all she could do was cover her mouth and wait for Jack to return to her quickly.
Several minutes later, the shopkeeper returned and placed the tiny farmer inside the dollhouse.
"I won't lie, that was one filthy doll. But I was able to clean it up. I'm not your parent but I hope you don't let your toys get dirty like that again. My services don't come cheap" The giant smirked as he noticed Inma looked extremely tense.
Inma couldn't relax until she paid the owner upfront and peeked inside the house and made sure he was in one piece.
"Thank you, sir… keep the change" Inma quipped followed by facing the exit to join her father.
"There you are, Inma! I was beginning to worry" Inma's father said loudly with a smile on his face. "No matter, you made it in time to eat."
Inma thanked her papa and picked up her sandwich and took one big bite.
"Inma, I get that you are hungry, but try to show some self-control." Varus scolded.
"Yes, father" Inma looked up sheepishly and nodded.
"Anyways, that's a pretty nice dollhouse you got there. How did you get it?" Varus asked Inma as he poured a cup of lemonade for her. She accepts it while eating her sandwich some more. She waits to swallow first before speaking.
"Well, I was looking for you earlier and I got stuck in a crowd. But then I found this dollhouse at the shop I usually go to. He sold it to me on a discount." She then looked inside the dollhouse and spotted Jack in a corner and grabbed hold him discreetly from her father by tucking him away.
"Really? Every time I go there that shop keeper is very stingy. Maybe he's just feeling generous today. No matter, It was nice keeping our spots while talking to the people around me. I heard the ruler of our kingdom might make an appearance today.
"Okay. I mean, that's nice and all but I don't know much about him, same with my classmates." Inma shrugged.
"Fair enough. So… I went to visit our shed to visit your mom. It's been a while since we've talked about her. Is there anything you'd like to about her? Varus asked.
"Mh, I can't think of anything right now, but it has been a while since I visited her. Would it make you feel better if we visited her on her birthday? Inma suggested.
"It would actually. Afterwards, we can do whatever you want the rest of that day. She'd want nothing more than for our little girl to be safe and happy. Varus chuckled.
Don't say that out loud. You're embarrassing me, dad!" Inma exclaimed.
"Haha, relax daughter, as long as you don't cause a scene, no one else will give you a hard time." Varus replied merrily.
Inma's face was bright red thanks to her intense pouting. Just then, an announcer yelled for all to hear: "The puppet show is about to start, all children must take a seat around the stage. I repeat, all children must come forth to find a seat. Inma looked up at her father who simply shook his head."
"Sorry, but you skipped out last year's show. Good luck finding a good seat." Inma's father smiled and waved goodbye.
"Thank you for the food, papa." Inma nodded and got up from her spot. She then grabbed a strip of her hair and placed it close to her chest pocket; therefore, allowing Jack the option to tie it around himself again.
"Jack, if you'd like, I can give you my hair so that you don't have to stay in my pocket any longer. Would you like that?" To the blonde child's shock, Jack didn't respond back and stayed hidden within her pocket. She could hardly blame him after all the torment he faced among the giants today. Inma didn't want to impose herself onto her tiny friend and respected his choice.
Fortunately, no one paid too much attention because the children were focused on finding a spot without sitting too close to the front. After five minutes had passed, the children finally settled down and were ready to be entertained.
Historia
Long ago, before we called this place home, us giants once lived below the clouds. Below the clouds is a world far different from ours. Where the dirt we step is abundant and the waters surrounded us. The clouds were nothing more to us than the morning fog.
Above all, we shared this land with all sorts of creatures; woodland creatures, sea monsters, and briids. None however, were as cunning as the creatures known as mants…
The lead puppeteer looked around at the audience using a feminine marionette. The announcer looked troubled and went up to the puppet and whispered something to his ear. The giant then cleared throat and spoke: Ladies and gentlemen, it appears that we need some "mants" for our story. Or as I like to call them, beans." The last remark got a few laughs from both parents and children.
"Any volunteers? We don't have all day." The announcer asked. After a moment of silence, the giant pointed at two random boys.
"We got our volunteers and now… on with the show!" The announcer declared as people clapped. He then huddled with the boys to discuss what they needed to do and provided enough finger puppets to fit all their fingers. The boys made their way hastily into the stage and waited for their signal. Inma grabbed hold of her legs gently and pulled them closer while Jack had since becalmed himself and made an effort to be attentive to this story.
The creatures known as mants were similar to us in every way, they looked like us and even knew how to talk. The only difference between them and us were their size. it took ages for one mant to reach the top of our feet.
Yet, our kinds lived in together not because of unity, but because their was only so much dirt the world below kept us seperated. This worked for some time but little by little, they'd crawl into our homes like the rats they were and stole our food and tools. As annoyed we our ancestors were, they paid no attention because as long as they didn't harm anyone, they pitied these little creatures and gave them a chance to survive. One day, the mants took it too far and slayed one of our own.
The audience gasped when a group of finger puppets held up a wooden knife and scrapped a large marionette, causing it to split in half as a result. For Inma, she trembled since she happened to possess a human in her pocket. Even though she knew Jack would never hurt her, the young giantess was horrified about the possibility of discovering any other human. The charcoal-haired teen grumbled over the derogatory names his people were given. Even so, there was something about this story that rang a bell, but he couldn't figure out what it was.
Outraged over the loss of their own, our ancestors gathered the strongest men and marched to the nearest human village. The mants begged for mercy but it was too late for them and they needed to pay for their consequences. When word got around that a human village was completely trampled, an all-out war was unleashed.
No one knows how long the war lasted. Some say it was as long as two years, other claimed it was as short as six months. However long it lasted, everyone agreed that both sides gave it their all. Where the mants lacked in size they made up with numbers; as such, for every 20 mants we ate or killed, the little creatures managed to slay us one at a time..
The children giggled at the battle scenes because for them, it was rather silly to see a bunch of finger puppets slamming themselves against a bigger puppet's feet, let alone have the capability of actually killing a giant. The host motioned his arms up and down as a way to subdue the laughter. The audience were taken by surprise by the next scene, the next puppet in particular.
Just when all hope seemed lost, a giant like no other ascended to leadership through sheer strength alone. Our ancestors were between 30-40 feet, this one towered everything at 60 feet. His footsteps alone were enough to stop everyone on track. When he spoke, his words were revered as a God's. The name is this mighty warrior was none other than Ginortus.
Ginotorus was a burly man who had the muscles to impress any woman and make all the men jealous. No one dared to challenge his strength. His gentle personality was only displayed to his people and when in battle, he could erase said kindness and become the warrior we needed. He was so powerful, one swipe from his arm could sweep the mants villages with no effort. For him, no one was his equal.
Despite his demeanor, Ginortus never once relished on the idea of killing man. One day he walked up right between the two races and bellowed for all the hear: This war has gone on far too long. It ends now.
When the colossal giant slammed his hand onto the ground, mountains had risen at his command. The mountains varied in size, but in a matter of seconds, Ginortus created a mountain range that divided the land between the mants and the giants. Unfortunately, Ginortus lost control of his powers which caused the land to lift all of our ancestors and send them to the skies, never to see man again.
Once we were brought here, everyone panicked because we had no idea how we'd survive or if there was even a way back. Ginortus brought it to himself to create a land for him and his people to call home. All he required was every abled giant to help grind the rock he'd create to match the dirt found underneath their shoes. Eventually, Ginortus and his men created enough dirt to carry our weight as well as squeeze clouds to provide water and made fertile land to grow fruits and vegetables. And in time, the few animals we brought with us eventually grew to our size.
"Ginortus may have lost control of his powers at first, but it was his quick thinking and the help of every men to provide not only their families a chance to survive but for future generations to thrive. And that is the legend of Ginortus, the founder of Brobdinus." The narrator declared.
The audience gave a round of applause as the marionettes and finger puppets took a bow and laughter followed when the big puppet swung its arm and slapped the finger puppets of sight. The curtains closed and the few volunteers who worked on the production along with the two boys took a bow remained upstage for a moment as the children started to stand up and meet with their parents.
Jack
The young farmer flinched when he felt something big poking at him. He could only assume his Inma checking on him to see if he was doing okay. At this point he had since recomposed himself but was deep thought due to the puppet show. Hearing the scene where Ginortus wielded his magic brought back a memory to Jack. Unlike the giants where this legend was upheld more seriously, he memory of the story was vague. He was a small boy when the young farmer participated in story time with his friends. The only reason he even recalled this story because it was one of the few memories where his dad was still around. While he liked the story as a kid, no one of his friends cared for it, so he decided against bringing it up among his friends. He hoped to share his version of the story with Inma to compare and contrast. That and he felt bad for shunning Inma for as long he did.
Jack looked up and saw a thin line of hair dangling just above him. He took advantage of this and grabbed hold of the long blonde hair and wrapped it around his waist. He used Inma's chest to scale upwards by using his feet. He wasn't concerned if anyone would see him simply because as far as he was concerned, no one was as short as Inma. He was determined to climb up to the young giantess's shoulder and untied the hair around him and adjusted it to match his new elevation. The young farmer took a moment to immerse himself in the scenery that was before him and he still couldn't wrap his mind how he was the first human to discover a land of giants and magic.
He could see a forest of giants' walking about or doing last minute shopping. He couldn't help but be jealous of children munching onto caramel apples or popcorn, Jack's stomach rumbled and he tucked himself inward out of embarrassment. He then looked around only to meet the gaze of a singular brown eye. The eye widened followed by an audible voice.
" It's too dangerous for you to be out like this you know?" Inma expressed with concern.
I know, but I didn't want to miss this view. Especially with a good friend." Jack walked up to her cheek and patted it.
Thanks Jack. Let's go meet with my papa so we can buy drinks and head home". Inma whispered happily and brushed her hair to give Jack extra cover. "Just, hang in there."
Inma walked up to her father who kneeled down to give his daughter a hug.
"Did you enjoy the puppet show, Inma?" Varus asked.
"It was great, I think this is the best puppet show I ever so. And you used to read me this story when I was little." Inma said
"I'm glad to hear it, lets get a drink and call it a day." Inma's father spoke audibly and held her hand carefully.
"Sure thing, papa." Inma looked up and gave her dad a big smile. Her father smiled in return and lead the way to a nearby vendor. Today's festival would've concluded by now had it not been for the sudden notes from several trumpets. Everyone in the nearby area turned to their head to see what the commotion was all about.
"Presenting His Royal Majesty of Brobdinus, King Ficklor!"
Wow, its been five months since I have been continuously editing this one chapter why wouldn't it? This is the biggest chapter I ever ever made. Nearly 6k words. It takes time and energy to read and edit this story solo.
I guess I want to say is I'm very proud of this chapter on what it contains. Inma's powers have been something i been wanting to touch on since I made the first chapter. I don't know what powers Disney had in mind for our giant hero (then again who does?), but in my head cannon, she would've been able to control the beanstalk, reverting it back to a seed or letting it grow at her command.
Moving on, the reason I pushed myself to publish this story asap is because I learned about Clear-Blood's decision to end his Gigantic story two days after it came out. It got me a bit emotional because his story being the first on this site was the inspiration I needed to write my take of this story and publish it online. All I can now is: Thank you so much for everything you contributed to this community and for the all the suggestions we made for one another for our stories. Last but not least, thank you for letting me borrow your character Ginortus for my story.
I have some more news to share: From the get go, I was set on creating 10 chapters for Gigantic. Nothing more, nothing less. However, while I was writing chapter nine and ten, after talking to friends and family, I have decided to the only way I can complete this tale in my eyes is to write two more chapters. These last chapter will be nowhere near as lengthy like this one, but I hope to include all the remaining references of the original Jack and the Beanstalk naturally.
The end of this fanfic is near. As of this moment, I am the last writer working on Gigantic.
I wish everyone a good morning/after/evening whereever you are and feel free to leave any comments before this fanfic concludes.
