Disclaimer: I own nothing of the DC Universe
Receive The Wind Humbly: I've started reading it and I love it.
Johnymike98: Excellent idea, it is on the list.
"We are no longer your slaves, enjoy burning to death"
I doubt anyone was paying attention to me as I floated above the city. It was an understandable reaction since the entire city had my fellow Tamaraneans either flying around destroying the last remains of the military or getting payback for the centuries of abuse my people had endured for centuries.
The old me who had come into the DC universe would have been horrified and attempted to stop them. The new me as a Tamaranean who had seen his species tortured, raped, and enslaved for no reason another than for the sick enjoyment of other people was all too happy to see their former masters get their punishment.
"I never thought I would see this day" spoke my companion.
Korithus had been my first friend and oldest ally since the beginning. He fought beside me as he sought to free our people from the Citadel empire and their numerous allies and anybody else who stood against Tamaran.
"It almost didn't happen" I replied thinking of the many close calls in the past years.
A few minutes pasted between the two men before one spoke again.
"At long last Tamaran can be at peace with all our enemies gone." Korithus stated to which I responded with a shake of my head.
"We are far from safe."
He looked at me in slight confusion "what do you mean? We've driven the pirates out and defeated the Citadel."
"No" I firmly stated, "They were small dangers compared to the things the future will unleash upon us."
For years the Citadel had seemed like the threat to end all threats, with the fighting done and my knowledge of the greater DC Universe Tamaran was in greater danger than ever. There was sun dipped Kryptonians, jerk gods, lords of chaos and order, new gods, lanterns, the Anti-Monitor, Krona, Despero, the Endless and much more around the corner just waiting for the moment to strike at the universe.
It was even worse considering Tamaran wouldn't even be a target in most cases, just casualties as the result of someone else's actions.
I would not let that happen; my people would not suffer because of other people. We would do whatever it takes to make the universe safe for Tamaraneans even if they had to kill everything and everyone else in existence.

Seventy years later
Tamarean
Korthus for the tenth time looked at the video of his two nieces Komand'r and Koriand'r graduating from the academy of science and magic. He wished he could be there, but he had received a request from the High Counciler to meet at the imperial house, seat of all governance in the Vega System.
While it was officially stated to be a request it was more of an unofficial order as the High Counciler was not someone any Tamaranean would ignore given everything the man had done for their people. Korthus especially wouldn't considering his family's connection to the leader of their people.
As he was sitting in the waiting room waiting for his appointment in the main area, he could see all the paintings on the walls depicting all the victories and major events of the Tamarean Republic.
His personal favorite was the defeat of the Guardians and the Green Lanterns. When he had learned the Guardians and their attack dogs could have helped in the Vega System but didn't because of completely ridiculous reasons he had been just as angry as every other Tamaranean. It had been a major reason behind the tradition of proving an individual's strength by killing a Green Lantern, a fitting fate for those pretenders.
Many called the Republic evil, but the truth was they were realistic. The universe was a deadly place and it required strength to survive the darkness. At the end of the day people look after their own species and cared little or not at all for other people.
"The High Counciler will see you now."
He nodded at the receptionist and gently flew to the top floor. There were no elevators in the Imperial House as everyone who could be there had the ability to either fly or teleport to their destination. There was just one long vertical shaft up to their very top of the tower.
Korthus's favorite aspect of the High Counciler is his enhancement of Tamaranean's natural abilities along with adding more powers. A fully trained Tamaranean could destroy a solar system in a matter of minutes. The universe feared them which suited them just fine. The universe stood by while Tamarean suffered so they can suffer the wrath of the Tamaranean people.
He was brought out of his thoughts by reaching the main floor. He landed on the floor and opened the door.
He walked into the room and stood at attention as he spotted the leader of his people sitting at the table facing the entrance. He looked despite his reputation like any other Tamaranean.
Without turning around the Counciler spoke "What do you know of a planet called Earth?"
In DC The Vega System is the Gotham city of the Universe. It is the system where Starfire is from and where her people live, the SI was reborn as one of her people and took the place over.
