Chapter 22!

More Waning Moon because I love it. Izumi and Rumi are 22 here and it's a little after they confessed to each other so they are officially together here.

Enjoy, more notes at the end!

Perception and Reality

*Ryukyu POV*

Having gotten to know and work with both Karura and Miruko was an eye opening experience to say the least.

Ryuko was of course a fan of both of them, many new and in training younger heroines were very fond of them especially, so having been able to interact with them in person was a very exciting thing. They were some of the highest ranking heroines in the country yet neither of them went to a famous hero school or had an agency while also being, for the most part, solo heroes. The two women that were one year the dragon woman's senior but vastly ahead of her were truly like day and night, though it was clear that their rumored history was certainly true. They had a seemingly famous rivalry that supposedly dated back to their high school days and many of their respective fans would compare the two while a small group simply adored analyzing any and all of their interactions even if they were seemingly only arguments. That still held true as even right now Ryuko was personally getting to see Karura and Miruko clash with one another.

It was an insignificant argument, something about who could go from one place to the other faster and despite being her seniors the pair argued in the same manner that children would. It was a sight for Ryuko to behold seeing Midoriya, the cold and dignified type, acting petty while Rumi, the rabbit woman insisting on not being called Usagiyama, not only matched her but also put up with the tengu woman. The dragon woman eventually faded out as the two walked on while resuming their squabble but once she realized that they had disappeared for an abnormal amount of time then she tried to catch up to them.

Initially, she had honestly thought that the two hated each other but the dragon woman soon realized that they took every case together, worked perfectly in tandem yet weren't hero partners, and spent their off duty time in one another's company. Ryuko was only now realizing that the two had a strange sort of relationship as she was searching for them but as she rounded a corner the dragoon hero instead accidentally stumbled upon them making out.

Rumi had the winged woman pinned against a wall, the greenette locking her legs around the rabbit woman's waist and draping her arms over her shoulders, and the shorter, bunny eared woman took the lead happily. Ryuko had a hand over her mouth, not even daring to breath, as her mind amended the pair's title to hidden lovers and Midoriya pulled back from the latest kiss as Rumi grinned up at her.

"Enough with that smug look, Usagiyama," the winged woman panted, the greenette covering her own eyes with the back of her hand, while the rabbit woman used her thumb to play with the greenette's lips.

"I can't help it," the white haired woman chuckled playfully, "it's so rare for you to be this docile," she poked and Midoriya lowered her hand and touched the rabbit woman's cheek.

"We've only been together for two weeks," the tengu woman revealed as Ryuko continued to listen in secretly and Rumi let out an amused snort.

"Officially," the rabbit woman claimed, "we danced around each other for like 4 years," she added on and the hidden dragon woman learned that they'd been close since they were 18.

"6 years," Midoriya corrected and this got a hum from the rabbit eared heroine.

"Were you into me since we met?" Rumi asked with a pleased curiosity.

"You were the only one worth my attention," the winged greenette stated in an almost, by her standards, sweet manner and the white haired woman's eyes softened.

"That makes me happy," the rabbit woman smiled, "I at least thought you were hot when we met," she admitted but the words made the winged woman's brows knit.

"That doesn't exactly please me Usagiyama," Midoriya frowned in an almost pout.

"I love you now though," Rumi confessed before planting another kiss along the tengu woman's neck and the greenette nodded.

"That's better," Midoriya hummed, "I love you as well," she replied and the pair became intimate once more.

Feeling like she'd intruded long enough, Ryuko carefully and silently snuck off to give the lovers proper privacy and a bit of a silly smile twitched at her lips. She had slightly been in that small group that enjoyed watching the two heroines' interactions and learning that they were together was a pretty pleasing thing which she'd of course be keeping to herself. Some time passed and soon enough the dragon woman's ears picked up her seniors' voices.

"Just admit I'm faster than you," the rabbit woman prodded, back as if nothing happened, and her green haired partner waved a hand.

"You might tie me should you be having a good day," Midoriya claimed with a sharp look in her eyes, "and if I was violently ill."

"You just can't help yourself," Rumi grumbled and a scowl formed on her lips while the winged greenette scoffed.

"The fact remains that I'm the faster one," she commented offhandedly.

"Prove it then," the rabbit woman provoked and a glint appeared in both their eyes before Midoriya drew her attention over to Ryuko.

"We'll be leaving first, Tatsuma," her winged senior excused, "number 2 here requires number 1's attention."

"Our tied score says otherwise," the rabbit eared hero snorted indignantly and the greenette shook her head.

"Did you always skip mathematics because you can't properly count?" she cut in, "I'm one ahead of you."

"Since when?" the rabbit woman growled.

"Since this morning."

"We didn't compete this morning. Wait are you saying its because you woke up first?!" Rumi exclaimed in confused disbelief.

"Believe what you will," Midoriya brushed off while nodding her head at Ryuko and heading on her way and the white haired woman was already beside her.

Ryuko watched the pair leave, the two woman still going back and forth, and the dragon woman hummed to herself.

She really didn't understand them.

Notes and Stuff

Izumi's hero name is Karura which is the Japanese transliteration of Garuda which is a divine winged creature mentioned in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Ryuko is canonically one year younger than Rumi so here she's also a year younger than Izumi.

Any point after these two getting together now lets me have Izumi show off a more mellow side to Rumi here and there.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
