Chapter 24!
It's more Waning Moon. Three of the added chapters are Waning Moon in fact. Another moment from Rumi and Izumi's 3rd year days so they're 17/18 here.

Love's First Goodbye
*Rumi POV*
Rumi took in the new sights as they flew above the ocean and neared Mount Misen.
They really should have been with their own families, especially considering that they'd graduated today, but Rumi instead found herself in the company of Midoriya for the evening. They had gone through all the ceremony stuff but the two basically handed their things to their own families and skipped out together right after. Rumi had then found herself holding onto the winged girl's arms as she flew them far and high off into the sky, citing that she knew an interesting place, and that was how they'd gotten to where they were now.
"This how you always see things Tengu?" Rumi marveled as she watched the myriad of passing colors and scenes before looking up and grinning to her ride, "I think I get it now," she laughed.
"What would that be?" the tengu girl called back, peering down for a moment to meet her eyes, and Rumi chuckled readily.
"Why you're so stuck up," the rabbit eared girl teased and Midoriya focused her attention back on flying while tapping a finger against one of Rumi's wrists.
"Shall I drop you, Usagiyama?" the greenette offered, a hint of playfulness in her voice, and the bunny girl burst out into more laughter.
"Take a joke would you?" she called back through the wind striking her face, "this is pretty damn cool though," she admitted in excitement and Rumi picked up the winged girl's hum of agreement.
"I quite enjoy it myself," the greenette replied somewhat smugly and the rabbit girl noted that they were just about at the mountain's peak.
"Tell me about it," she whistled, taking another quick look at the trees below them and the ocean surrounding the island. "All the scenery without the hike," she noted as they began descending for the structure at the top.
The pair landed on the observation deck, Rumi releasing her grip and hopping down onto the railing before jumping onto the platform and Midoriya giving a final beat of her wings as she gracefully touched down next to her. The rabbit girl promptly skipped over to one of the benches and plopped down with a happy sigh and the winged greenette joined her right after. The evening air felt nice and the sun burned an impressive color as it drooped and marked the waves and treetops that laid below the mountain top.
"What will you do now that we've graduated?" Rumi heard the winged greenette ask, breaking the silence, and the rabbit girl peered over.
"I'm gonna be a hero of course," the white haired girl obviously stated but Midoriya sighed at her words.
"That goes without saying," the greenette said with a shake of her head, "I mean will you join an agency or make your own?" she clarified but Rumi didn't have to think much on it.
"Nah," she waved off, not even entertaining the thought, "I'll just do what I always do," she shrugged which made the tengu chuckle to herself.
"Run around and cause trouble?" Midoriya supplied in minor mock which Rumi just snorted at. "Though I agree, solo hero work seems more fitting for you," she appraised honestly and the rabbit girl grunted positively.
"You doing the same?" she returned curiously and the winged girl closed her eyes with a confident smile.
"Naturally," she stated without hesitation, "I can rise on my own merit."
"I'll try to remember you when I leave you in the dust then," Rumi smirked while watching to see how the tengu would respond as always.
"I'm certain I'll remain a step or five ahead of you," the greenette retorted back instantly and Rumi had to chuckle a little.
"Fat chance," she assured before a thought hit her. "Unless you're moving so you don't have to eat my dust," she half joked though Midoriya looked off into the distance.
"I have no intention of leaving for somewhere else," the winged girl swore firmly, giving Rumi a strange shot of excitement. "Don't be surprised when you're ranked below me," she jabbed back and the white haired girl grinned widely.
"I'll totally make it into the top 20 before you," she promised with a cocky smile, "if not then I'll get on my knees and admit you're better than me!" she howled in amusement yet it didn't deter the other girl.
"I'll look forward to that day then," Midoriya declared and Rumi boldly delivered a refusing smile.
"Nothing to look forward to since it's not gonna happen!" she cheered to the greenette.
"Keep telling yourself that," the winged girl mused.
The two continued throwing words back and forth and eventually the orange light grew more faint as the sun bid its farewell in lieu of the moon. The sounds of the nighttime nature mixed with their voices and eventually Midoriya rose from her seat beside Rumi.
"It's getting late," she noted and the rabbit girl hopped up next to her.
The greenette raised an eye at her and Rumi spun halfway so she was standing in front of the winged girl. Placing her hands beneath the greenette's arms, the bunny eared girl lifted her up and pressed her carefully against the wall before staring up at her with a teasing smile.
"Running off already?" she goaded cheekily but she got no fun reaction from the girl she was holding up.
"This seems less effective when I'm taller than you Usagiyama," Midoriya delivered blankly.
"You're off your feet and against the wall," the rabbit girl pointed out simply, "seems fine to me," she shrugged but the greenette let out an exasperated but subdued noise.
"I believe you're missing the point," the winged girl told her. "Can you even reach me from there?" she questioned and Rumi finally took notice that she definitely couldn't reach her lips from their current position.
"Lean down for me," the white haired bunny girl tried but she received a stern face.
"No," the greenette simply denied.
"You're a pain to the end," Rumi laughed but she let the other girl down and Midoriya fished something out of her pocket.
"Here," she offered, holding up a piece of paper, and Rumi took the slip curiously.
"What's this?" the rabbit girl wondered as she unfolded the scrap.
"Call me when you feel like working for me," the green haired tengu stated and Rumi immediately attempted to hand the thing back.
"Don't need it then," she grumbled but Midoriya ignored her refusal.
"Then keep it so you at least remember my name," the greenette told her with an uncharacteristically wistful smile.
"Yeah, yeah," Rumi conceded and Midoriya took the rabbit girl's free hand with her opposite one and they interlocked their fingers.
"I'll be going first," the tengu girl whispered softly and a bout of silence between them followed with only the quiet sounds of the mountain remaining.
"Don't run into a window on your way," Rumi playfully poked one last time and it got her a faintly amused but small smile.
"You're insufferable," Midoriya chuckled and the pair released their hands while the greenette slowly took to the peaceful night sky. "Enjoy your return as well," she waved, getting farther and farther, and only then did it hit Rumi.
"GET BACK HERE, TENGU!" the rabbit girl shouted up to the retreating winged girl whose laugh filled the air.
"Until next time, Usagiyama!" Midoriya yelled back before she became nothing but a speck in the distance while Rumi leaned against the railing and shook her head at being tricked.
"Real classy of ya," she groaned, "stranding a rabbit on a mountain." Rumi couldn't believe she fell for that but she should have seen it coming. "I hate that stupid bird," she grumbled to no one and now the rabbit girl was alone with her thoughts.
Rumi hadn't felt any different from graduating, it just was what it was, but one thing she did realize would change is that she would no longer see the tengu girl everyday. She briefly thought back to when they'd first met, the memory tickling at both her nostalgia and annoyance, and moments of their 3 years together followed right after. Some made Rumi laugh and others made her think how she'd get that feathered pest back but at the end of it all she'd had a smile on her face from each and every memory.
"Catch ya later, Midoriya," Rumi whispered to herself, the grin leaving her face, and a sinking feeling hit her.
Now how was she supposed to get off this island?
Rumi was about to start cursing the green haired tengu but she remembered the piece of paper in her hand and she barked a single sharp laugh while pulling out her phone.
"What a roundabout way to get me to call you."
Notes and Stuff
Mount Misen is on Miyajima island and it's a little over an hour away from Hiroshima which is where Rumi and this Izumi are from.
The top 20 part is in reference to the first chapter of Waning Moon in which Rumi ranked 20 and Izumi ranked 19.
Rumi's surname Usagiyama uses the kanji for 'Rabbit' and 'Mountain'. Izumi left Usagiyama on a mountain with a rabbit on it.
I just love them okay. No matter the situation or time in their relationship I just adore them. I had the brief idea of Izumi flying Rumi somewhere and then found a way to work it in with them graduating and some of their thoughts on it.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and look forward to more updates from me!
