They didn't make a decision straight away. After Chuck left Dean wanted some space to think about what the Big Man has told him.

Dean wasn't the only one thinking things through Patrick also spent a lot of time thinking about what Chuck told him.

I think part of you doesn't want this to end. When it does... you won't be needed anymore. You will be all alone again. "

The witch immediately dismissed God's response. That is absurd Patrick didn't care about Dean this was all strictly business and honestly Patrick was pissed off that the Big Man made him spend decades of his life keeping the older Winchester from going rogue while all this time the solution to saving Dean was there dangling in front of their faces. God's excuse was character development, a journey? Such bullshit.

Alone? Please Patrick has been alone all his life he has got used to being alone being alone doesn't bother him at all. If Dean gets his life back and leaves it wouldn't bother Patrick after all some businesses cannot last forever Patrick just moves on like he always does.

He will be fine. He is always fine.

Well someone is being a hypocrite.

Patrick pushed that annoying voice to the back of his mind the one that has nagged him for years ever since Lia's death. For a while that voice did go silent but since that meeting with God that voice has decided to speak up again.

Everyone has to face the truth but oh no not you noo only you can continue to live in denial.

The voice lets out a little tut.

You...

Patrick grits his teeth.

Are not okay.

Patrick grabs a bottle from the fridge and takes a huge swig from it. He walks over to the sofa and lies down on it. He turns on the tablet on clicks on the library section.

A list of books appear on the screen. Patrick clicks on one and leans back on his pillow.

When Dean mentioned about God writing books Patrick did some research and found the books Dean was talking about. Chuck used the name Carver Edlund. When Patrick first started reading he was shocked this is an invasion of privacy Chuck is exploiting the Winchesters' lives for what? And why?

Patrick knew it was wrong but he kept reading.

He knew the Winchesters had it tough but Patrick didn't realize it was this bad so much loss, so much pain, so much tragedy it made sense why Sam and Dean have formed the special bond they have.

Why offer to bring back Sam now?

That didn't make sense to the witch Chuck's whole offer just didn't add up. Something didn't feel right.

That's a reason why Patrick decided to continue reading these books he wanted to get an idea on who God was he wanted to know what he was dealing with here. When making a deal with someone always good to do a whole background check on them never walk into these type of situations blind.

Patrick swipes the screen and starts reading.

As he read on a feeling of deja vu washed over him. This story is sounded familiar.

"Look, I know it sounds crazy. Guy comes up to me at a bar, invites me to play. Gives me twenty-five of these weirdo poker chips, right? Chants some mumbo humbo over them, says now they're twenty-five years. I'm laughing, but then I come out up. And look at me."

"What was he chanting?" Sam asks.

"How should I know? All I know is, my bad hip's good, I threw away my glasses. One of those ladies was here for free! Man's some kind of miracle worker."

"What does this miracle worker look like?" Dean asks.

"Just a guy. Maybe thirty-five, brown hair. Irish accent. His name was Patrick."

Patrick drops the tablet in shock. He covers his mouth as realisation dawns on him.

God wrote about me?

Patrick quickly picks up the tablet and reads through the text. The settings, the scenes, the conversations all of it was spot on Patrick remembered this like it was yesterday. The witch bit his lip hard when he read Lia's parts. Eventually fury took over him when he reached the part Lia passed away a moment that forever haunted the witch until this day is here in this book where everyone can see it. Patrick felt violated, exposed the Big Man has revealed his most vulnerable moment. These people all these people in these books have been exposed to the public without their consent. This wasn't a fantasy these were people's lives! This was just sick.

Despite the fury Patrick carried on he read it all the way up to The Swan Song. It was close to sun down time Patrick finished all the books. He ordered a take out and pondered over the question that's been plaguing his mind.

Who is God? And what kind of person is He?

"He is a creator." Patrick thought out loud.

Okay good start lets build up from that.

"He created the world. " Patrick stands up and begins pacing the room. "He created us. God created the scenery, the setting, animals different animals...and different humans."

Patrick looks out of the window and looks down at the road. He watched the humans walk down the street. Men, women, children all a variety of ages and race all with a range of personalities.

"They are all different characters. "

Patrick glanced at his tablet.

"And they all have a story."

Patrick decided to narrow down to the Winchesters specifically. He knew God had particularly interest in the boys which is expected given their life story as hunters and them being the true vessels to Lucifer and Michael. Lucifer and Michael are in the Cage now so why was God still interested in them? Is it because Dean is carrying His sister?

Then why intervene now? Why decide to help him now?

"Sam's death it has affected you I can see you are broken your soul has dimmed since his death and I am sorry I know you boys shared a special bond. "

"You have to understand this about the Darkness...she's relentless, a force beyond human comprehension. It's the only reason I came off the side lines. I don't think I can trust you to hold on anymore Dean as I said you are broken without your brother and I fear...She will be released I have to put a stop to that."

"That took Sam being dead for you to realize that? " Patrick shakes his head. "Dean has been broken for years he wasn't the same after he left his brother. Dean could have snapped ages ago he was a possible threat! I thought you were suppose to be all-knowing."

What if He did know?

Patrick raises his eyebrow. Now that he thought about it God did use interesting choice of words. Character development, a journey, an experience He even called Crowley and Rowena His guilty pleasures He treated them like they were His characters.

That's it!

The witch nods.

What if this was all a story? A story that He sat back and watched for years. The books, Sam and Dean's stories what if God did write them not for the money but for entertainment. His entertainment. Now that Sam is dead...There is no story.

"It hurt me to see that special bond is gone. No more Sam and Dean Winchester. Quite depressing actually."

"I can bring back your brother to the age he was when you first had the Mark and you boys can live your life together. The Winchesters back together again. Sounds great huh?"

He wants the Winchesters back together. Patrick thought with horror He wants to continue their story. To do that He needs to get rid of the Mark once Dean is free and Sam is back their story will be back up and running and a new storyline will be set in place then God can sit back again and enjoy the show. From looking at those stories it seems He enjoys their suffering.

Patrick grits his teeth.

He enjoyed my suffering!

I need to tell Dean.

Patrick grabs his phone.

"I can see you are very protective of your client." Chuck's voice teased him in his head.

He's not wrong His inner voice said with a sigh.

"Shut up." Patrick said through gritted teeth.

After a few rings Dean eventually answers the phone.

"Hello? "

"Dean its me."

" Patrick I was just about to call you. I've made my decision. "

"Dean you need to listen to me God He is not what He says He is He... "

"I'm doing it. " Dean cuts him off. "I'm getting rid of the Mark for good. I got it all sorted out we just need you to remove the spell."

Patrick frowns.

"Wait so who is taking the Mark?"

A sigh came from the phone. Then another voice spoke up.

"I am. " Castiel replied. "I am taking the Mark. "
