Back to Fifi...
Since the arrival of the purple 'kitten' Fifi La Fume, and her argument with one of the imprisoned cats, the only thing that could be heard from her was just the subtle sound of her breathing.
All this time, she waited in her prison, knowing that her beloved Furrball will save her, even if he took quite long to arrive..., but, it seems that in this quiet and dark room full of caged strays, alarms were suddenly heard, which managed to get the attention of every prisoner, including her.
"What eez happening?", asked the young 'kitten', who was barely heard among the alarms.
"Somebody triggered this place emergency system.", answered the old shepherd dog, with every pet in the room too busy to heard him, except the ex-skunkette and another notorious feline, who looked at his cage.
"You know what is this ruckus about geezer?", asked the orange black cat Gavin, looking uncertain that his fellow prisoner knows something helpful.
"Of course I do mouser!", replied the shepherd dog with a hint of pride in his voice. "Back in my youth, I was a police dog, and I know one of these fancy security systems when I hear one!"
"Yeah, sure!", said Gavin in a mocking tone. "And I'm the queen of England!"
"It's not nice to laugh at your elders cat, especially the queen!", fumed the old dog, who only made the orange black cat doubt him even more.
"Monsieur, could vous please tell us what eez happening?", asked Fifi, with a pleading smile.
"Finally, someone who knows how to ask nicely, unlike this uncivilized fool!", exclaimed the shepherd dog, with Gavin rolling his eyes in return.
"It's simple young miss, this building locked itself for some reason, like a turtle hiding in it's shell to avoid harm, so you can say that any and everything in the facility is just as trapped as we."
"Trapped?!", gasped in fear the young 'kitten', at hearing there's no way out of this place for her or her fellow prisoners, turned her smile upside-down.
"Yes...", the old dog wanted to confirm, but, stopped for a second to rub his furry chin with his right paw. "Unless, the one that started the cursed alarms is in a room with access to one of these fancy computers, and knows a thing or two about cracking them."
"What are you talking about gramps?!", asked Gavin stupefied. "Isn't this whole place supossed to be impossible to break out?!"
"Anyone that assumes a problem can only be solved with brute force, or deception like you won't know that you need to use your brain, and, maybe some teamwork to escape."
"These walls may be soundproof, but, just like the little lady said when she arrived here, she hopes, or rather knows that her significant other will come to her rescue, so maybe he's here, and right now he tries to undo this mess.", finished the old shepherd, who made Fifi smile reappear with the possibility of her boyfriend being already here, and ready to rescue her sooner or later.
"I didn't take ya for a softie before old dog.", mocked Gavin amidst the alarms, looking at Fifi not noticing the two prisoners talking about her, and him knowing very well this won't end well, especially if she has such childish faith in her blue boyfriend.
"Unlike you who doesn't trust anyone, the little lady truly believes she will be saved.", taunted back the old shepherd, who smiled at seeing the french 'kitten' happy. "And, if she believes enough, her dream may come true."
"Here dreams won't come true...", muttered Gavin, who turned his back on the old shepherd and purple 'kitten', having enough of these daydreamers.
Returning to Furrball...
Now we go back to Furrball and his team, with Calamity Coyote, at the desk on a chair, pressing the buttons of a white keyboard with inhuman speed and deep concentration, while Cliff Evans is waiting at the metal door that traps the young toons with his left cat ear glued to the metal door, and finally Furrball is at the door that forbids the access to any but the employers of this facility, looking ready to dash in.
"How long is it going to take Pratt?", asked Cliff, not looking overjoyed at the current situation. "I think that whoever wanted to get in just gave up, so, no point risking my ears."
"We must follow Furrball plan Cliff, so don't get cocky because you got the easiest job.", suggested Calamity, who didn't look away from the keyboard, and made the tan cat roll his eyes.
"I'm not complaining about my job because it's too easy Pratt ..., it's too boring!"
"Not even five minutes, and complete silence from outside!", finished Cliff, looking ready to swap roles with any of his friends "And with these alarms that keep ringing in my head, I almost wish for someone to get us out, be it you or the guys on the other side that are too quiet!"
"Don't underestimate them Cliff.", said Furrball as he turned to face his fellow feline looking serious, which attracted the attention of not just Cliff, but Calamity as well. "They're not smart, but almost as devoted to finding and caging animals as Elmyra", and as Furrball finished his warning, the very alarms that ringed all across the building stopped, which made him and Cliff turn to the grey coyote for an answer.
"I didn't do it.", said Calamity in a raspy voice, as there was heard a noise coming from the other side of the metal door.
"Wrong button idiot!"
"If we don't stop the lockdown we'll be fired!"
"Try another one!"
"OH Come on!", snapped Cliff, looking at his friends who are in as much shock as him, at the voice from the other side. "Why is this happening?!"
"Does the universe hate us for being heroes?!"
"We can question the bad luck that happened to us later Cliff!"
"If phase 2 of my plan works we're saved!", stated Furrball, who looked at his grey friend. "We need you to open this door right now Calamity!"
"Y-Yes!", stuttered the young coyote who restarted tapping the keyboard at an even faster rate than before, when a noise was heard from the employees only door. "Done!"
"This is you signal Lerxst!", cried out Cliff, pointing his index index finger to the door in Furrball way.
"On it!", exclaimed Furrball as he dashed to the door and entering the very place he wished to never see again.
