Lost
Chapter Nine
At the entrance, Dionysus stood ready with many students, satyrs and teens beside him, with weapons in hand, ready to fight.
Behind the barrier were minotaurs ramming it to get through as Bruce stood with his fellow minotaurs, a long many other creatures slowing their way to get in.
Grabbing the held of his blade, Dionysus' eyes narrowed. He and everyone else were ready to stop these creatures, no matter what.
Meanwhile, Annabeth, Chiron, and dozens of students ran toward Percy, Grover, and Sarah Jane.
They stopped as they looked up multiple creatures slowing biting and ramming the barrier as a woman in all black was reaching her head through the barrier.
"Everyone on alert!" Chiron shouted as they stood ready.
Sarah Jane stared at Octavia as her eyes flicker faster while a white light line Sarah's body.
Closing her fist, the barrier around the camp glowed as it tried pushing Octavia's hand back, but the tear had already been made.
"I will deal with Octavia. Can you handle the rest?" Sarah Jane asked.
"Oh yeah," Grover said, as he tapped Percy and pointed behind him.
Glancing back, Percy nodded as Chiron Annabeth, his classmates, all stood ready.
"We're good," Percy said.
Nodding, Sarah Jane charged forward, knocking Octavia back as the countless creatures flew charged and crawled through the crack.
From slicing through wings of multiple harpies and imps to dodging charges from minotaurs, the screams of banshee and claws of dark nymphs. Percy, Grover, Annabeth and Chiron refused to back down. As students and staff also struck down multiple creatures, but when a few got away from them, Dionysus appeared with his satyrs and nymphs to join the fun.
Nodding to him, Dionysus and Chiron stood back-to-back, slashing, punching, and kicking away. Slicing a harpy in half while ramming a sword through a minotaur, Dionysus smiled.
"Enjoying yourself?" Chiron asked, punching a banshee.
"Oh yeah," Dionysus replied, tossing another minotaurs to the ground.
Jumping over Percy, Grover kicked two nymphs in the face while Percy stab two were wolves with his blade.
After smacking away countless furriers, Percy ducked as Annabeth charged through, knocking a few harpies to the ground.
Smiling, the three of them charged toward a group of minotaurs slicing right through, causing them to stumble to the ground.
Nodding, Percy glance around at how well everyone was doing. He then looked forward to Octavia and Sarah Jane. He took a step in that direction, only to stumble backwards. Looking up, his eyes narrowed, for there stood a half lion, half goat-creature with the tail of a snake hissing at him.
Gritting his teeth, Percy charged toward the chimera.
Standing in the forest, a few inches away from each other, Sarah Jane and Octavia glared at each other. Octavia held up her hand as a ball of dark energy appeared in her hand forming into a sword.
"You still haven't changed yet." Octavia said.
"We don't want to fight you." Sarah Jane said.
"Too bad" Octavia shouted.
Charging toward her, Octavia screamed, slashing away at Sarah Jane, who easily dodge right to left with ease.
"Fight me!" Octavia screamed as she continued slashing away at Sarah Jane.
Sarah Jane continued dodging, but she was losing speed as a few slashes ripped through her clothes, slicing her skin. Leading to Octavia, kicking her hard in the chest. Sarah Jane hunched over as Octavia kicked her in the face, knocking her on her back.
Coughing up blood, Sarah Jane grit her teeth as Octavia smiled as she stood over Sarah Jane, shaking her head. She aims her sword right at her heart.
"Still thinking the old Octavia is here," she said, pointing to her heart. "Sorry she died a long time ago. Here is your proof."
Spreading out her hand, a book appeared in her hand, turning a few pages. A massive orb of darkness formed behind her, getting bigger inch by inch.
"When I'm done with you, this dark orb will consume this place and everything around it. You always loved your mortals. Can you really laying there while I obliterate them?"
Pushing through the pain, Sarah Jane rose to her feet. Octavia smiled as light formed around Sarah Jane's body, transforming into a familiar brunette with Jasmine green eyes in a white robe.
Looking at Octavia with tears in her eyes, a white sword formed in Thea's hand.
"Finally, hello old friend" Octavia said followed with a smirk.
"Hello Octavia," Theia replied.
Smiling, Octavia charged toward and Theia parried, pushing Octavia back. Both women met each other blow by blow. When Octavia moved faster, Theia matched her speed with tears in her eyes. They grew faster and faster as their auras grew, tearing down trees along with anything in their path. Octavia switched two blades hoping to getting an advantage but Theia did as well, which only caused her aura to grow even more.
Sobs escaped Theia with each sword swing. Tears flowed freely as she moved faster and faster, Octavia slicing her continually before punching her through a tree.
By then everyone stopped fighting a switched. As silence erupted all around Theia and Octavia.
Pushing her staff on to her knees, Octavia could feel the darkness that once encircled steadily disappear Theia walked towards her. Pain racked her body as she remained on her knees. She could no longer feel her arms or legs, but she managed a smile.
Dropping to her knees, Theia looked deep into Octavia's eyes and she saw the eyes of her friend long ago.
"Finally, I always knew you were faster and stronger but you never wanted to go that far." Octavia said, followed with a smile across her lips.
"You gave me no choice," Theia said.
"That's what I wanted," Octavia said, followed by coughing. "I never wanted your power. I only wanted all of this to end, and who better than the last piece of light left in my life to do it?"
"Octavia," Theia said, blinking away a few tears.
"Thank you…. my friend," Octavia uttered as she closed her eyes and leaned forward.
Wrapping her arms around her friend, Octavia's head rested on her shoulder. All Theia could do was sob. Her tears refused to stop falling as the memories of their friendship plagued her mind. All the time they smiled and laughed together and now she was the one who ended her friend's life. It crushed her heart that she had done such a thing, but now she could finally have peace.
"Rest now, old friend…. I'll take care of everything else.
Lifting her head with streaks of dry tears down her cheeks, Theia's eyes turned white as the surrounding light brighten. Opening her mouth, Theia let out a scream. The light grew even brighter and engulf the camp. It spread over all of Long Island before consuming the world.
