You awaken at the beginning of the next moon and begin to prepare for the day ahead. Seraphine speaks to You all the while.
Seraphine: Now that Evenor is gone, the only major general left for us to defeat is Samiya…
You say that You hope the scouts are able to find her soon.
Seraphine: I hope so as well. We weren't really able to sink our teeth into a search of the Empire after we had to fight Evenor, but now that we've taken the first step, I hope that we'll be able to spread out from there. Surely the spies working with each of the armies will help us to make progress sooner rather than later.
You nod your agreement.
Seraphine: For now though, I want to hear a bit more about the Crest mystery Evenor brought up before. She was convinced that the Crests would have been able to do something more than we realized to defeat our forces. I don't know what that could mean though… We've had a lot of people with Crests on our side all this time, and we still find ourselves struggling. What exactly could we be missing about their power?
You say that Aisa seems to be able to answer that question.
Seraphine: All the more reason for us to go talk to her then. Let's hear what she has to say.
You move to the cardinals' room at that, and Seraphine's voice fades away. When You arrive at the cardinals' room, You find Cordelia and Roy examining the map as per usual.
Roy: Nothing in the immediate area around Gronder, it seems… I had been hoping Samiya would be in the same general area as Evenor, though I suppose that was a vain hope. I suppose we'll just have to send our spies out a bit farther.
Cordelia: They'll have to split up in order to cover ground like that, but a move of that scale is going to put everyone in danger. Even if it takes us longer, we need to be methodical and minimize casualties among our informants.
Herwig: Perhaps we should start by moving south towards the capital. I don't know where Samiya could be, but I feel like it's important for us to learn as much as we can about the main road south.
Reese: I agree. We can send out a few other informational parties later on, but figuring out all we can about what's happening between here and Enbarr should be our main priority, especially since nobody is in control down there.
Jill: We're going to want to head there when we can anyway. Since Argades died out here at the monastery, the people don't know that the princess is still alive and ready to resume the throne. It might be for the best to head south and ensure the transition of the crown runs smoothly.
Niko: I think Captain Torryn is right about us needing to handle this as carefully as possible, and we have the time to do so. Samiya won't be able to handle our forces on her own. Until we have to actually fight her though, we have a lot to talk about.
Adrian: That's right. After the last battle, you mentioned something that you wanted to talk to us about, Lady Aisa. Things were hectic after Evenor died, so we didn't get the chance to discuss it in full, but now is as good a time as any.
Aisa: Yes… I suppose it is. This is an old tale, one almost as old as the Adrestian Empire itself. I would ask that you prepare yourselves.
Nesreen: This is about an unknown power of the Crests, isn't it?
Aisa: It is.
Nesreen: Good to know the Crests are still causing problems for us even now. I had been hoping that we wouldn't need to think about them as much with much more important matters on our hands, but it seems not.
Aisa: I am afraid that this is an important part of Fódlan's history. At one point, there were weapons meant to correspond with the various Crests of this land.
Roy: There are a few weapons like that though. They're specially forged, and they work best in the hands of the people who have their corresponding Crests.
Aisa: These weapons took it to a new extreme. They were once called Heroes' Relics, and their power… It was more than enough to slay entire armies. It gave one soldier with a Major Crest the power to destroy hundreds of opponents without breaking a sweat.
Cordelia: Gods above… Evenor intended to use them somehow in order to claim a seat of power…
Nesreen: But if these Relics really are so powerful, then I would have expected us to have heard of them by now.
Aisa: They began to disappear many centuries ago. They were powerful weapons used in the War of Heroes, and after the fighting ended, they were claimed by the noble houses that held their Crests' powers. However… They were stolen some time ago, and now, they have become little more than legends.
Herwig: They must have been stolen a long time for history to have almost entirely forgotten about them.
Reese: I think I've heard a few legends about them, but it was never anything substantial. Nobody could say for sure if the weapons were real or simply dramatizations of items used in the War of Heroes.
Aisa: They were most certainly real. I saw them with my own eyes many years ago… But they were stolen after the war ended, disappearing slowly but surely before they were entirely forgotten.
Jill: Evenor somehow found out about them along the way… I have to wonder if perhaps she had a way to access them.
Adrian: She wouldn't have asserted that she was going to use them to reclaim power if she didn't know how to access them.
Aisa: If I had to guess, I would assume that Samiya is the one who stole the Relics. I imagine it was her way of remaining connected to the past even after the war ended, so she wanted all of them in her hands.
Niko: But how would she remain connected to the war by stealing those weapons? I don't entirely understand her logic.
Aisa: …What I am about to tell all of you must never leave this room. Am I understood?
Roy: That's a worrying way to begin an explanation of something, but… Alright. We'll keep it a secret.
Aisa: The Crests of Fódlan were not initially the positive things that we know them to be today. In times long gone, they were powerful creations, but… They were used by the enemy.
Cordelia: The enemy… You can't possibly mean…
Aisa: The original bearers of the Crests stood on Nemesis' side of the war.
Roy: But we always heard that they were gifts from the goddess. How could they be granted to her enemies?
Aisa: In times long gone, the Agarthans and Nabateans fought for control over Fódlan. The Nabateans saw victory with Saint Seiros and her Four Saint allies at her side. Humans remained on the sidelines all the while. After the war, the goddess laid herself down to rest, restoring the world after it had suffered from so much damage. Nemesis snuck into her tomb and slayed her.
Cordelia: That was what began the War of Heroes…
Aisa: It was. However, he did not stop at the goddess, Sothis. He turned his attention to the other Nabateans, killing each and every one of them. From their hearts, he created Crest stones. From their bones, he crafted the Relics. From their blood, he and his allies found Crests. Drinking the blood of the Nabateans granted them their corresponding Crests, and armed with the Relics, they marched off to war against Saint Seiros.
Herwig: Goddess above… I never would have imagined the Crests started out as the weapons of our enemies.
Aisa: It was a truth that Saint Seiros yearned to keep hidden. She treasured the remnants of the Nabateans as a child of the goddess herself, and I suppose that granting the power of Crests more standing in society allowed her to cherish their memories in some strange way.
Reese: And it's that memory that caused Samiya to steal all of the Relics in the first place. After Saint Seiros passed, she thought the weapons belonged in her hands.
Nesreen: I still can't figure out why Samiya would work with Evenor of all people though. The two of them should hate each other.
Niko: I imagine they still did. They likely only aligned themselves because they thought it would serve their greater interests.
Jill: That's true… That seems to be the case for most of the people who sparked this war to begin with.
Adrian: We don't know how many people Evenor could have given Crests among the enemy forces. If they could use the Relics Samiya has at her disposal…
Roy: This fight is going to get much harder for us.
Aisa: If I knew where the Relics were, then I would suggest that we claim them for ourselves to boost our power exponentially and take that advantage out of Samiya's hands, but I am afraid that I lack the necessary information to track them down.
Cordelia: We can redouble the efforts of our spies to search for anything that could lead us to these weapons. I doubt Samiya would let the truth of their location come out so easily, so my hopes aren't exactly high that we'll find them this way.
Roy: It's worth a try at the very least. I don't know what Samiya has waiting for us, but we need to be ready for it one way or another.
Aisa: Until we are able to find the Relics, we should prepare ourselves for a long, brutal battle. Samiya is not going to make this next fight easy for us, and we should be ready for it.
Cordelia: Of course. I'll make sure we're prepared.
Aisa: Thank you. I appreciate everyone's generous efforts more than words could ever hope to say.
Roy: What else are friends for?
The members of the Church of Seiros stream out of the cardinals' room, and You follow them. You arrive back in your room soon afterwards, Seraphine's voice echoing in your mind all the while.
Seraphine: I never would have imagined that such powerful weapons were lurking in the shadows all this time… That makes a lot of sense as to why Evenor sparked the experimentation to begin with too.
You nod, saying that she was refining the process to use it on the other Agarthans so that they would be able to fight with the stolen Relic weapons.
Seraphine: I suppose Samiya and Evenor have been working together for a long time to prepare themselves for this… Samiya has been alive for so long, and Evenor's hated the world for what Hendrix did for ages as well.
You shake your head, saying that they must have gotten desperate to ally with one another.
Seraphine: You would have expected the two of them to want nothing to do with each other given the circumstances of them being a Nabatean and an Agarthan, but I suppose that desperate times call for desperate measures. They likely thought it was the only way they were going to be able to win this fight.
You say that You refuse to let Samiya win.
Seraphine: Now that Evenor is out of the equation, it should be a bit easier on us… Or so I'm hoping. She's still a difficult foe, and we need to be careful with fighting her.
You nod your understanding, asserting that You refuse to lose now.
Seraphine: I know… And that's exactly what I wanted to hear. We've got this.
Seraphine's voice falls silent as You prepare yourself for your rounds of the monastery. You head towards the Officers Academy as per usual, finding Liram there.
Liram: It feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders now that Evenor is gone. She's done horrible things, and… Zelhira deserves this peace. Evenor can never hurt anyone ever again, and I couldn't be happier.
You see Tuncay in the Black Eagles' classroom.
Tuncay: All that's left now is for us to find the leader of the operation… She's been a pain in the neck for all of us, but we're going to get rid of her at long last soon. That should mark the end of this five year nightmare… About damn time if you ask me.
You find Cassia in the Blue Lions' classroom.
Cassia: I have to wonder if perhaps Samiya is hiding from us right now. We defeated Evenor first, and she has to know who's next. I'm tired of searching for her at this point, so I hope she comes out without any other issues, though I doubt she'll make it that simple.
Lastly, You speak with William in the Golden Deer classroom.
William: I've been making a few rounds around the monastery to see if I can find anything suspicious, but Samiya's been wisely staying away. I suppose she doesn't want to meet the same fate Argades does… If only her caution didn't bring so many problems for all of us.
You head towards the training hall next, running into Rodain upon your arrival.
Rodain: Five years ago, I would have thought the war was as good as over at this point, but Samiya coming out of the shadows has thrown a twist in all of our plans. So be it. As long as she insists on causing problems, we'll have to stop her. She'll see that soon enough.
You speak with Derric afterwards.
Derric: Niko told me about the ancient weapons Samiya took… The Relics. I have to wonder what sort of strength they could hold… They must be strong if she put so much effort into taking them years ago. Maybe they could help us out too.
You approach Nesreen from there.
Nesreen: Looking back on it, the way Fódlan's society is structured makes a lot of sense. People with Crests are elevated in society because of their ability to wield Relics. Of course, that doesn't make much of a difference as long as the Relics have been stolen… I don't like the idea of leaving them in Samiya's hands, so we'll just have to get them back. We can figure out what to do from there after everything else has been said and done.
Last but not least, You walk up to Aquillus.
Aquillus: It seems like everyone's finally allowing themselves to breathe again now that we've pushed Evenor out of the picture. It still doesn't feel real to say that she's gone, but I'm glad she is. It's the only way this land can see peace.
You leave the training hall, and You find Conrad standing outside the sauna.
Conrad: I never would have expected that there would be a person out there who was willing to sacrifice so much of people's bodies and minds to meet their own goals… I didn't ever imagine the experimentation could exist, and now that I know about it… Even if Evenor is gone, I feel like my life has changed now that I know about her.
Near the lower floor of dorms, You speak with Nora.
Nora: The spies have been expanding their reach, but we still haven't seen anything that could point us to Samiya. If she's been alive for as long as Lady Aisa makes it sound, then she doubtless has countless places to hide out. She knows how to keep her secrets, much to our detriment.
You also find Wolfgang here.
Wolfgang: The first official mission we had as students was to go and speak with Evenor about what she knew regarding Crests. Now, our most recent battle has seen her slain… It's like we've come full circle in a way. Back then, we didn't ever think that she would betray us… Oh, how quickly the times change.
You move to the second floor of dorms, and You speak with Aestlyn there.
Aestlyn: The end is so close I feel like I can taste it… I know Samiya isn't going to make this easy for us though. That would just be a bit too convenient, huh? That's not going to save her in the end though. She's going to fall soon, and it's going to finally end all of this.
You go back downstairs and enter the greenhouse. You find Quail and Jill standing together inside.
Jill: Are you sure it's okay that you're up and moving around?
Quail: You can't keep me in the infirmary forever, you know. A patient is going to need their exercise just as much as their rest.
Jill: I know… I'm just worried about you. I don't think I'll ever stop worrying, as a matter of fact.
Quail: That's how you are. It's your sister instinct, I suppose.
Jill: Yes… Just promise that you're going to stay safe even as you recover, alright? I wouldn't forgive myself if anything else happened to you.
Quail: It's alright. I'm not going to leave you again after everything I've been through. I promise.
Jill: Good… I don't know what I would do if you did.
You see Florence standing near the greenhouse.
Florence: Five years ago, I was taken hostage by people who were trying to learn more about my Crest. I know now that they were working with Evenor to try and further her research. Now that she's gone… Everything feels a little bit safer. It's strange to think about, but… I'm glad to have that weight off my shoulders. I needed it a lot more than I thought.
You also find Luciana in the area.
Luciana: Now that Evenor is out of the picture, Magnolia is starting to relax. Everyone has been trying to find her for so long regardless of country, and it's nice to see things changing. The world is finally returning to the way it should be after all this time.
You move towards the dining hall next, and You speak with Illona upon arriving.
Illona: I wish I had something to say about everything we saw with Evenor, but… I don't know what to think. There's still so much anxiety in my chest. I think I am happy, but… It's still so much to handle. I hope I never have to deal with anything like this again.
You approach Sofia next.
Sofia: I think Conrad is still tense after the encounter with Evenor. It was a lot for us to take in five years ago, and he's about the same age we were back then now that he's hearing about her in detail for the first time… This world is better off without her.
You speak with Wynne from there.
Wynne: The longer the war drags on, the more it wears on all of us. It's like I can feel the weight in my chest. I like fighting as much as the next knight, but there's so much going on. I don't know how to push it all away. I guess there's not really a way to. That's what war does, unfortunately.
You leave the dining hall, moving towards the marketplace. There, You speak with Callisto.
Callisto: I hope you're planning on checking up on Hegias again later… I tried to approach him earlier, but he didn't seem to be in a mood to talk. Given what happened to Evenor, I'm not surprised, but… I don't know what to do to help him. I hope you'll be able to do something he needs.
You also find Kyle there.
Kyle: At this point, Samiya seems to be the only real obstacle in our way. I never would have thought someone would slither out of the shadows to cause so many problems for us, but nothing ever seems to go according to plan. I just hope she doesn't take advantage of the chaos to do anything that could hurt other people… Starting this war has already done more than enough damage to the entirety of Fódlan.
You make for the stables next, and You find Cordelia inside.
Cordelia: There's no way of saying where Samiya could have hidden these Relic weapons or if they're even all in the same place. If we can get our hands on them though… I think that would make things much easier as far as ending the war is concerned. If only we knew where to start…
You also find Miriam in the area.
Miriam: The spies have been continuing their rounds of the surrounding areas near Gronder Field, but Samiya's nowhere in sight. I had been hoping she would be there to provide reinforcements to Evenot, but it seems I was wrong. How unfortunate for us… It certainly makes things harder.
On the way to the knights' hall, You speak with Piers.
Piers: Finally, Evenor's gone… It's what all of us have been waiting for these last five years. I hope all of the people she hurt find peace one of these days… But I suppose it's a bit too late to fix everything she's done now. Gods above…
Once You arrive in the knights' hall, You approach Karim.
Karim: I'm worried about our charge south… With Evenor gone, Samiya is our only target, but we haven't seen any signs of her. She must be planning something if she's been gone for so long, but I have no idea what we should be preparing for. It's concerning… Though I guess we don't have any other choice but to just wait and see what she does next.
You speak with Yuliya next.
Yuliya: My only regret is that I couldn't have gotten in a few extra hits on Evenor while I had the chance. She deserved everything that came to her, and I'm glad that she's gone. Still… I think everyone's anger continues on even with her death. How could it not? Ugh… What a pain.
In the graveyard, You find Morgana looking at the graves below.
Morgana: I wonder if any of the people who Evenor experimented on in the palace ever had a chance to see the sun again after her work was completed… I wonder if they died without ever realizing just how hopeless their circumstances were as long as she was involved. They were only children, and now… Pardon my rambling. I suppose I simply got lost in the heat of the moment. Forget I said anything.
You make for the entrance hall, finding Raithius and Novalee engaged in conversation soon after arriving.
Raithius: Even now, Samiya's still keeping herself secret… I guess that's what we get for thinking this was going to be easy at any point along this journey.
Novalee: If she hasn't started marching yet, she has to be planning something, and we need to be ready for her.
Raithius: Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Novalee: Nobody's looking after the Imperial capital right now. Samiya was already pulling the strings while Argades was in power if my suspicions are to be believed, so she has a connection to the place.
Raithius: In other words, you think she's going to try something in Enbarr while we're still grappling with what happened in our fight against Evenor.
Novalee: It's only a suspicion right now, but we should prepare in case she decides to do something like that.
Raithius: It just wouldn't be a war if we got a break, would it?
Novalee: Not as long as Samiya yet lives, I'm afraid.
You speak with Lev next.
Lev: Everyone seems so worried about the Imperial capital… I can understand why, but I don't think there's anything we can do about it. If we marched there, Samiya would probably try to counterattack, and that would only destroy Enbarr along the way. We can't bring harm like that to the people after all they've already suffered through… We have to try and catch her before she can plan anything too significant. If only it was going to be that easy…
You approach Adrian from there.
Adrian: Nobody seems to have heard anything that could point us in the direction of the Relic weapons. I suppose that makes sense. Samiya wanted it to be a well-kept secret, and she's certainly succeeded on that front… It certainly makes things difficult for us though.
You leave the entrance hall and enter one of the smaller gardens off to the side of the grander space. You walk up to Saias once You arrive.
Saias: It feels like everyone in Abyss is breathing a collective sigh of relief now that Evenor is gone… I have to wonder just how many people there have been influenced by her in some way or another. How many people did she hurt in her pursuit of progress? I don't know how she could live with herself, though I suppose that now, she doesn't need to.
You also find Zelhira in the area.
Zelhira: Now that Evenor is gone, I… I feel better. I know it's probably not morally right to say that you're glad somebody is gone, but I am. After everything she did, Evenor got what she deserved. I wish I could have done more to help her victims, but… I'm more than twenty years too late for that. If only… If only things had been different…
Lastly, You approach Hegias.
Hegias: She's… She's really gone…
You ask how he is feeling.
Hegias: I'm going to be alright. Just… It's taking me a while to catch up with all of this. Evenor did so much for me, and in some twisted way, I still care for her. She's the reason I was able to come so far. She helped me to get to the Officers Academy in the first place. She gave me so much, and even though she's gone, even though I know everything she did… I suppose I still yearn for that ignorance I once had. It's sickening to even me… I wish my feelings were just a bit easier to sort through.
You move to the reception hall from there, finding Adeline upon your arrival.
Adeline: How are you feeling? I know you and Evenor once had a connection, and…
You shake your head and say that You are going to be alright eventually.
Adeline: I'm glad to hear that, but… If anything changes along the way, you should come and talk to me. I would be more than happy to help you, and I'm not going to leave you to face this alone. I promise. We're all here for you.
You also speak with Magnolia in the reception hall.
Magnolia: The more I think about it, the more ridiculous it is to me that Samiya pulled all of this off… She was the one who orchestrated the war to begin with. She was no doubt working with all of the other commanders we've had to face up to this point, and now that they're gone… She's the only one left. I have to wonder… Was all of this worth it to her? Did she want us to see hellfire under her command? Is she happy? I doubt I even want to know the answer.
Your next target is Falon.
Falon: My mother and a few other high-ranking nobles have been holding down the fort in Magnolia's stead. The war seems like it's going to be ending soon, and that's the only reason Magnolia has been able to leave the capital for so long. I hope that all goes according to plan… I don't know what we'll do if that fails.
You walk up to Gabriel and speak with him.
Gabriel: It seems the end is finally upon us… Assuming we can find Samiya, that is. We've been searching for so many people all these years, and I'm tired of chasing them around. I think everyone is, as a matter of fact.
You start towards the bridge to the monastery, finding Taiyin looking over the ground below.
Taiyin: I'm really starting to feel like we're going to be able to do anything. Between defending the monastery and defeating Evenor… I feel on top of the world. Maybe we're going to be okay from now on. Maybe peace is finally almost upon us after all these years…
In the cathedral itself, You find Cedric.
Cedric: I wish there was more I could do to help with the search for Samiiya, but I don't think there's much I can say here that would make this simpler. I hate feeling so helpless… I just hope we can find her before anything gets worse.
You also speak with Chris and Polly in the cathedral.
Chris: How are you feeling now that Evenor is gone, Professor?
You say that You are doing what You can regardless of how the last battle went.
Polly: I'm glad to know it's not holding you back too much.
Chris: It's alright to admit that this is a difficult situation. You deserve better than to have to deal with the burdens she left you with.
Polly: It seems like we can still feel her ghost hanging over all our shoulders even now…
Chris: There's nothing we can do to erase her death now though. She's gone, and we have no choice but to push forward and try to end this war as soon as possible.
Polly: I just hope nobody will be left with lingering regrets when all is said and done.
Chris: Yeah… Me too.
You approach Calypso next.
Calypso: If you had told me five years ago that there were people out there with the ability to bend the very blood of others to their whims, I never would have believed you. Now though… I've seen that brutal truth firsthand, and I've realized… There are some discoveries best left forgotten.
Lastly, You walk up to Janae.
Janae: I'm glad you're alright… I couldn't stop worrying about you after you set off for that battle even though I knew realistically that you were going to be fine. There was no reason for me to panic, but…
You say that You are glad to have her in your life.
Janae: I… Thank you. I'm glad we're still here together… Even after all this time.
You head for Abyss next, and You find Quinn stationed near the entrance of the underground space.
Quinn: I cannot help wondering what will come of Abyss after the war is over. The people in the monastery have supported us for many years, and I can only hope that will continue once the fighting is done. There are many people who have other priorities before they turn their focus to us, but… I want nothing but the best for the people of this town. All of us do.
You find Tsubasa in the Wilting Rose Inn.
Tsubasa: Evenor… I still can't believe she's actually gone. With all the trouble she gave us, I suppose I always thought she was going to be a thorn in our side forever. I'm glad we were able to get away before it could get that bad, but… Well, there are some things we simply can't undo now. At least we've stopped her in her tracks… For whatever that is worth to all of her past victims.
You approach Grey in the tavern as well.
Grey: I can't help but wonder what Samiya could be planning… Anyone who's been quiet for so long in times like these has to have something up their sleeve, but I can't work her out. Then again, I suppose it's not up to mortals to decipher the actions of the ancient. She just wants the rest of us to follow her commands… It's a shame it's not going to end quite so simply for her.
You move towards Burrow Street from there, finding Magnus near one of the stalls.
Magnus: When the war ends, I imagine at least a few of the people here in Abyss will scatter to return to their previous lives. Quite a few of them are war refugees, after all… I can only hope they find peace once they leave Abyss behind. The goddess only knows they've seen enough hell for one lifetime.
You find Ernst in the Ashen Wolves' classroom next.
Ernst: I've been conducting a bit more research as of late about Samiya in case the past will reveal anything about her that we could use to our advantage. I haven't found anything significant yet, but Lady Aisa was right… She's been around for a thousand lifetimes. I never even thought that to be possible… I suppose you learn something new each day, no matter how shocking it may be.
You also see Ansel in the area.
Ansel: I don't believe I was meant to hear this, but I've heard a few whispers about ancient weapons with the power to turn the tides of war. It's meant to be a well-kept secret, I'm sure, but it's certainly intriguing… I wonder what all of it could mean, and I know I'm not the only one.
Your last destination in Abyss is the Pagan Altar, and You find Eli standing there.
Eli: I helped to fight against many other Agarthans over the course of the last few months, and now that Evenor is gone… I believe the remaining people will finally be able to find peace. I wish nothing but the best for them. They may hold enmity towards me, but… I think we have a bit more in common than most people would expect.
You leave Abyss and start towards the second floor of the monastery. You find Roy in his office.
Roy: I still find it shocking that there were so many impressive weapons that we never had a clue about… Who would have imagined such power was hiding in the wings of Fódlan? I can't help but wonder how different things may have been if we had possessed this power from the outset… Who knows? Maybe we would have been able to prevent the war entirely.
You see Herwig in his room as well.
Herwig: As far as I can tell, there are Relic weapons meant to correspond with most of the Crests we know in modern day. I spoke with Lady Aisa about it before, and she told me about all of the weapons she knows about… There are so many of them, far more than I ever expected. It's honestly shocking how they were lost so easily to the mists of time…
You cross paths with Reese on your way to the library.
Reese: Given the reason for Evenor and Samiya's collaboration, I can't help fearing that perhaps there are a few other successful subjects of Evenor's experimentation who might be able to use the Relic weapons against us in a potential battle. I have no evidence to back it up, but I can't seem to shake the fear that we could run into people like that… Here's to hoping I'm wrong.
Inside the library proper, You find Niko looking through a small stack of books.
Niko: Ever since hearing about the Relics, I've been trying to learn more about them. I haven't seen anything that definitively points to them, but I believe all these ancient whispers of weapons that can destroy mountains must be them… I never would have thought that legend would have turned out to be real. Are the Relics truly that powerful? Imagine how strong they are in the hands of the right bearer…
You also see Erika here.
Erika: I've rather enjoyed coming to the library as of late to see what I can find here. A lot is happening these days, and we all need to find some way to decompress. I never would have thought the monastery's library to be so extensive… I'm certainly a fan of it though.
You move to the common room on the other side of the second floor and approach Kaeta once inside.
Kaeta: We're all gearing up for the final fight, huh? It feels strange to say that. Once we can find Samiya and kill her, we should be free to split up again and head our separate ways to rescue the countries individually… I honestly feared the war was never going to end, but here we are. Finally… It's almost over.
Your final destination is the audience chamber, and You find Raina there.
Raina: I wonder what's going to become of House Schweighen when the war is over… Will Reese take over the way he was always meant to? I… I never thought I would take over my house so soon, and I don't even know if I'm ready. Maybe Reese isn't ready either… Though I guess we don't have much say in what comes for us next, do we? The goddess has already made that decision for us… For all of us.
Lastly, You see Aisa standing near the stained glass.
Aisa: I pray that we might find the Relics as soon as possible… Their power will be necessary to turn the tides against Samiya's personal forces. If her allies have their strength at their disposal though… Our next battle will be bitterly difficult. I pray that everyone remains as safe as possible in the interim to the war's end.
Having finished with your rounds of the monastery for the day, You return to your room once more. Upon your arrival, You hear Seraphine's voice echoing in your mind.
Seraphine: I hope the search for Samiya runs smoothly from here… As much as I hate having to admit it, she's certainly proven herself to be a difficult target to catch.
You say that You will do everything in your power to track her down.
Seraphine: I know. It's that strong sense of justice that makes me admire you so much… But that doesn't change how difficult this is going to be. She's not going to let us just drag her out of hiding so easily.
You nod your understanding.
Seraphine: I don't know what her plan is right now or what she could have done with the Relics she stole, but we need to find them as soon as possible.
You assure Seraphine that You will not let Samiya claim the upper hand regardless of what comes next.
Seraphine: I'm glad to hear you say that, and I know everyone else will be too. Wherever she is… We cannot allow her to go on the way that she has up to this point.
You nod as You settle down for the night.
Seraphine: Soon… Samiya is the final tower that stands between us and our safety and freedom. No matter what she tries… We'll find a way to persevere. I am certain of it.
You allow your eyes to flutter shut at that, your mind still racing with thoughts of the strange Relics that have marked Fódlan's history from the shadows. You know not where they will lead You next, but You find yourself certain that their strength will push You ever onwards to the peace You have sought. Until then, You allow slumber to claim You as your mind constructs images of what weapons made of draconic bones might look like…
friday updates baby!
