Counter Offensive Part 2

The Battle upon the ships continued on with the Skavengers desperately trying to repel their attackers from what was left of their ships. Already they had lost two of them. The Ice Dragon continued his attack upon the legion of Scurvywings that all had flown out from the ships to attack him from above.

Tracy and her daughter Molly continued their fight upon one ship with the Skavengers continuing to come at them hard and fast. Molly swiped at some with her spear delivering blows and knockbacks her weapon gave her reach and her acrobatic skills from years of performing in gymnastics gave her more of an edge in the fight.

With cartwheels and flips to lunge out of danger and the heightened senses she gained from the moment her powers had appeared it gave her all that she needed to fight against the pirates that she came to despise as much as the apes. How unfortunate when the apes attacked they didn't kill them all when she and her family escaped the first time.

The Elder among the Anderson family, Tracy kept firm and charged at the dog like pirates. With her broadsword in hand, she swung her sword side to side keeping the pirates at bay and to those that came too close met their end. She was not a full warrior having been a nurse most of her life and once took the Hippocratic oath. To never do harm and practice discretion and be dedicated to her work.

But that Oath was long shattered the night when the Apes had attacked the temple. A Year of slavery and trapped in a realm that was full of the unknown filled with danger and now caught up in a war that could lead to her and her family's end she had to break that Oath if it meant to protect those she loved more than anything.

With use of her Ice powers with some quick lessons by Cyril she used her ability to form a hammer in her left hand when she tried to strike at one Skavenger that managed to deflect her sword but was unaware that she could form another weapon in hand with her Ice ability forming a small hammer and swung right at the pirate knocking her ice made weapon right into its head shattering its skull.

Earning a proud nod from her daughter who used her ability of fire sending out a streak of flames at another group that was get in a wave of fire that consumed them near instantly. But the battle carried on and the Skavengers kept coming and the Mother and, Daughter continued on the fight.

On the far side of the fleet Sid and Rai kept the battle going. It may have seemed the Ships barely had anyone on them when they first boarded, but the Skavengers came out at them in waves. They were beaten and wounded with most of their ships in need of repair, but they were not broken, not in the slightest. Could be how they survived the massive onslaught from the apes before.

Rai sizes gave him a constant advantage as it had always done. He zipped and rolled around being quick and agile just evading a grab or a swipe of a cutlass. His short sword made it easy for him to deliver quick cuts or thrusts in the armor less sides of the Pirates and with the use of his electricity power he could even grab a foe three times bigger than him and toss him right into a group of Pirates knocking them all back easily.

The Youngest among the family couldn't help but grin despite the ongoing battle. It was incredible. Just over a year ago he and his family were just normal people living out from the city's and away from the military bases since their father's passing. But a kidnapping by apes, a year of slavery and an oncoming apocalypse by two moons in another realm now he and his family had powers and were capable to fight without the use of guns though their foes had forms of firearms not as advanced as in back in their world but still just as deadly. Rai was proud to be something more and better. Certainly, he was scared but he had confidence in himself and his family that they could get through it. If a year of slavery and surviving both a temple attack and forceful gladiatorial combat can't stop them then nothing can and watching his cousin take the fight to the Skavengers filled him with more confidence.

Sid kept his assault going on the ship with his cousin close by. He had shortly watched as, Cyril got his father off the farthest ship taking him to, Spyro and Adir on the ship across from the one he was on. Glad to see his Father not only succeeded in destroying the ship that was far out on the sea, but he was still alive and already two Skavenger ships were destroyed they were winning the battle. They just had to keep up the initiative.

"Come on!" He shouted lifting up a small Skavenger by the throat slamming it down on the deck stomping its face in. It was almost becoming too easy as the Pirates were no match for the combined efforts of the humans the dragons, but his overconfidence suddenly got shattered when one Skavenger came to his side and grabbed his arm and struck it so hard causing him to drop his axe.

Right before Sid could react he was stuck hard in his chest by a kick from the same Skavenger knocking him back. He grunted slightly from the blow but, Sid glared at the Skavenger who came at him with its cutlass held high snarling at him.

"Why you!" Growled Sid taking a step back and charged up his hand with his Earth element power. The Pirate thought he had the upper hand but then was met with a fist right back into its own chest and the force on it was so heavy that it couldn't even yell out in pain with a glowing green fist striking right against it with his body glowing for a second and, Sid brought back his glowing green fist with the Skavenger flying back crashing into a wall disappearing into the interior of the ship not coming back out.

Sid huffed picking up his axe and continued the fight he wouldn't allow himself to drop his guard again as the battle was far from over.

In the middle of what little remained of the Skavenger fleet the purple dragon and Adir continued their own fight while, Jim hopped down an open hatch to the interior of the ship they were on. If their numbers came from below it was best to take the battle their to prevent them from overwhelming the deck.

Spyro snarled at all the Pirates that faced him. With a swipe of his claws and thrash with his tail he easily knocked them down or to the side. One bite from his jaws would kill one Pirate easily and with the Dragons size it kept him more agile rolling over and the use of his wings to deflect the striking of fists against him and would use them to knock them back or blow them with a quick gust of wind.

One large Skavenger tried to come down on the dragon with its cutlass, but Spyro leapt up and cartwheeled kicked it right into its face hitting him with numerous spin techniques before sinking his teeth right onto its head killing it in an instant.

While Spyro kept the fight going on his part Adir continued the same as he fought across the deck. Any of the Pirates that came close met an end by his swords having converted it into his two blades with so many coming at him at once he needed every advantage. He was partially worried for his family, but they had made it so far now that he was confident they were alright.

The Ships around them were becoming more damaged by the minute with the attackers using their abilities to fight against the Pirates were causing more irreparable damage to the crafts but as the battle carried on, Adir took notice of a cage that was hanging just off the side of the ship that held a prisoner within it that tried its best to break through bars but the metal was too firm and the chain that hung the prisoners cage was damaged by ricochet shrapnel.

"Help!" The Prisoner called out trying to signal any of the ones that attacked the Skavenger fleet. She knew of the dragons having heard the stories about them but those that were fighting alongside them she never seen such creatures that bore no fur except for the hair on their heads. They walked on two legs and fought with weapons and noticed how they had powers much like the dragons but what were they exactly? Either way it seemed they were against the ones that had her imprisoned her for months and after her latest escape attempt they were prepared to end her.

Adir heard the cries of the one in the cage. He ran to the side of the ship and found out that one in the cage had to be another animal creature that was humanoid like all the others he met on their journey but this one had brown fur and spots all over her body indicating she was a leopard of some sort but the leopards he was most familiar of where yellow in color so she had to be a different variant and the fact she was wearing shorts a small top with a vest and a couple of shoulder pads indicated she was female and her pleads kept coming.

"Please help me! My cage is about to fall!" The Leopard girl cried out in a rather melodic tone. Adir saw that the links in the chain about her was breaking away in seconds the cage would fall into the sea below and take the prisoner with it and surely she would drown. Anyone who was a prisoner of the Skavengers had to be those they deemed suited for their gladiatorial games or be slaves to serve at the pirates behest.

"Hold on! Ill help you!" Adir called back throwing one of his swords at one Skavenger piercing it through the chest which allowed him to use his free hand to fire a streak of ice at the top of the cage right before it could snap and fall. Immediately after he crafted a short bridge of ice from the side of the ship to the cage moving over it quickly to the cage itself.

"Are you okay?" Adir asked quickly looking over the female leopard that stood just slightly taller than him but was rather thin with three toes on her feet along with her mid-section partially showing.

"Yes, do you have a key?" The Leopard girl asked him stepping to the rear of the cage to let the stranger help her.

"No but ill make one!" replied Adir getting a quick idea. Kneeling down towards the key hole he put his finger right on it and carefully formed ice around the tumblers of lock making a form of a key that fit the lock and turned it open.

The Prisoner was surprised to see that ability just shortly ago she watched him shoot a ball of fire from his hand and now he was using ice? There was more to this warrior that she first believed. But undoubtably he and everyone like him there along with the dragons were there to help.

The Lock opened up, but the door was jammed. "Its stuck! Here ill pull it open!" Adir lodged his sword through the door and pushed the weapon hard trying to break it open. The Prisoner went to the door and pushed it herself to assist she wanted out of that cage quickly and though the Ice was holding she wasn't going to stick around and find out how long it will.

Sparx was staying by a cannon that managed to get knocked out of place and aimed across the deck instead of outwards. He stayed behind it trying to keep out of sight while he watched the battle. "This is crazy! Why do I always have to get involved in all of this?!" He whimpered listening in to the battle. The Shouting and the explosions all around. The Deathly cries of one fallen pirate after another. If his little adventure with just, Spyro and Adir was one thing this battle right now with all of, Adir's family and Cyril in the sky who just took down another Skurvywing falling just off the side of the ship it was another. Insane could not even describe how worried he was both for himself and even for his friends and family.

He watched Adir helping another prisoner out. He like Spyro always had to help everyone in need but he noticed that a Skavenger was coming towards the icy bridge Adir made.

"Hey look out!" He called out to his friend, but the raging battle drowned out his small voice. No one could hear him. And the Prisoner in the cage had her eyes shut she would not be able to warn, Adir that a pirate was coming to him. The Skavenger grinned as he had an opportunity to kill the attacker and be rid of a prisoner that no longer was worth the trouble.

Sparx was going to warn Spyro next, but he was far too busy with a group that surrounded him, but the Dragon flew up and began to attack from the sky, but he didn't notice that, Adir was about to be attacked from behind. Why was everyone so busy and unable to hear his warning? Sparx tried to think of something. If only he was a great deal taller then he would stop the Skavenger himself, but it was a fruitless thought.

The Skavenger was very close near the side of the ship where, Adir's icy bridge was and still working on the door. It was rusted shut almost no need for a key if it was incapable for being opened so easily.

Sparx moved up to the front of the cannon and peered inside noticing a cannonball was still in it and loaded with gunpowder and incidentally it was aimed in the direction the Skavenger was approaching from. Getting a quick idea, he found a small box of matches laying scattered close by on the deck from a Skavenger that was laying dead nearby.

Grabbing a match, he flew to the touchhole of the cannon and struck it on the metal. "Hope this works!" He prayed before lighting the touchhole and with the sudden lighting of the gunpowder the cannonball blasted out of the muzzle and before the Skavenger just could see the sudden ignition of cannon the cannonball struck the pirate killing it from the impact sending it crashing over the side of the ship.

Spyro who just finished the group that attacked him saw what, Sparx had just did and laughed realizing he just helped out, Adir who managed to open the door to the cage and helped the prisoner out of it getting her safely on the deck.

"Nice work, Sparx!" Spyro praised the dragonfly and, Sparx gave him a thumbs up.

"Oh, you know its what hero's do!" Snickered Sparx feeling so good about himself. Adir ran over with the leopard girl following realizing what Sparx had just did for him.

"Thanks buddy." Adir nodded with a smile.

Sparx turned around looking up to his friend grinning back before seeing the female leopard. "Who's your new pal?"

The Leopard girl cocked her head surprised to see an insect speak let alone do something incredulous. "My name is Zima. I was captured by these cretins months ago. Forced to fight in their arena. When the Apes attacked they took as many of us as possible to another ship before the one we were on went down when the apes attacked. There are still many prisoners below. We have to help."

"Why were you in a cage just off the deck?" Adir asked looking around to make sure no Skavengers were close by. The Battle continued on the other ships but so far everyone was still alive and fighting on.

"I tried to escape again. I managed to kill a couple guards, but I was restrained and put in that cage to be then dropped into the sea to drown." Zima explained through a growl that was more melodic than it was menacing but her face showed great anger. "I have been a pawn in that twisted games for too long. I will see them dead for it!"

Adir nodded understandably before more Skavengers appeared from a doorway near the stern of the ship. Below deck Jim continued fighting through the guards some of them had retreated up to escape him only find one their prisoners has escape and another one of the attackers standing there. Growling they raised their cutlass's and aimed their guns at them.

Zima hissed leaping one of them quickly disarming him with a twist of his wrist breaking before grabbing the tiny pistol and shot it in the face. She kicked another back with her long leg before jumping over another one getting behind him grabbing its neck and twisted it fast breaking it to the shock of, Adir who like, Sparx was marveled by the quickness of the leopard girl and how fierce she was.

"Talk about a mad cat!" Shivered Sparx and, Adir ignored the remark but was nonetheless surprised by, Zima's quick efficiency.

Zima hissed sternly running into the ship and came out with two daggers sheathed on both sides of her shorts tied in with a belt with a short bow in hand with a Quiver of arrows tied to her back.

"Come! Allow me to assist you in this endeavor. I seek retribution!" Zima asked aiming her bow with an arrow lodged in it and shot at a Skurvywing in the sky that broke away from attacking, Cyril and tried to attack the smaller purple dragon flying over the deck but thanks to, Zima's accurate shot that struck it right in one of its eyes it wailed allowing, Spyro to finish it off with the strike of an Earth Flail.

Spyro flew down to Zima who was amazed by the purple dragon standing nearly as tall as she was and being so powerful. The Legends certainly were more accurate than she believed. And wasn't there a legend about a dragon that was purple in color?

"We would do well with more assistance if you're able. But we're not asking you to fight." Spyro said but the Leopards blue eyes narrowed in a slit.

"You're not." Huffed the Girl taking aim at more Skavengers that came out from the other side of the ship and, Adir readied himself tightening his grip on his lone sword needing to retrieve the other one that was still lodged in the deceased Skavenger across the deck.

Spyro flew up and, Adir with Zima close by fought across the deck with, Spyro battling the last of the Skurvywings alongside Cyril. The Leopard girl took one shot after another firing her arrows at those that imprisoned her for so long. Each death was revenge for the months of imprisonment and forcing to fight for their amusement. No longer did they have her in chains or bound in a cage she would make them pay for it.

Adir after cutting down more Skavengers with his lone sword and firing of flames and ice shards retrieved his second sword and lodged it back into other blade turning it back into a lone sword. Now that he had a new companion to watch his back and that could shoot quite well with a bow he was well covered.

The Skavengers were losing more ground on their ships by the minute their attackers with the aid of an escaped Prisoner was causing them more and more damage to the fleet. It was time for the Captain to step out and survey at the platform in the middle of the fleet. Scratch and Sniff were both frustrated and appalled to see their forces were dwindling and their ships going into ruin. They meant to come here to repair and recuperate from their fight of the apes but now those that were once valuable prisoners and contestants in their arena were causing them a great deal in loss.

"Those chumps!" Sniff cawed angrily stomping his tiny feet on the back of the chest that held the cannon on, Skabb's back.

Scratch bit under his wing and too felt a great frustration in him. "Agreed, my friend. We must take care of those petulant cretins." Skabb walked over to the middle of the large platform as directed and stood in place.

Sniff readied himself behind the cannon and waited for the right moment. "Wait for it." Scratch informed as their aim was directed above the ship where the Ice Guardian was finishing off the last Skurvywing. The Moment they lose the last of their aerial then the last of their own forces that crewed their vessels would be at the greatest of risks.

Cyril had bit down on the neck of the Skurvywing as it cawed out in a deathly cry before falling limp and fell into the sea below. The Dragon again was pleased to feel that despite the recent defeats in the past he still had a great deal of fight left in him, but he heard the sound of a heavy blast and turned to see a series of cannonballs come at him.

It was too late to create an ice wall and the dragon was struck in his front with a series of small, enflamed cannon balls. The Dragon roared out painfully and fell through the sky.

Everyone upon the ships all turned their eyes upward to see Cyril fall and land upon the vessel where, Tracy and Molly had just finished the last of the crew.

"CYRIL!" The Humans and Purple Dragon all cried simultaneously, and all began to fight their way towards the ship where the blue dragon had crashed upon.

Tracy ran to the dragon whose body was covered in blast marks and his scales riddled with powder burns with some spots some of the cannonballs were lodged between his scales. The Dragon grunted painfully barely able to get back to his feet.

"Oh my god, Cyril are you okay!" Tracy gasped and Molly ran over to her mother.

Cyril made it to his feet only to collapse again. The Pain was immense, and his body ached badly. Thankfully his scales managed keep him from being pierced through, but he could hardly move.

"I am afraid I am in a predicament." Groaned the Dragon having not felt like this since the day, Cynder had bested him in battle and kept him in captivity for so long. His body was aflame in agony with the cannonballs had done their job.

Everyone desperately tried to get to Cyril as fast they could hopping over the ships leaping to the next ones and, Spyro and, Sparx flying over to the dragon. Soon enough everyone made it to the dragon who all looked greatly concerned for him.

"Cyril! Oh, man!" Rai kneeled next to the Ice Guardian who twitched so much that he almost struck the boy by accident.

Sid tightened his fist in anger. "Now they've done it!" Grumbled the man. They could hear cheering come from what was left the crews of the other vessels finally they had taken down the great dragon. Cyril wasn't dead but his wounded state left him unable to carry on the fight.

"You must retrieve the map." The Ice Guardian said through the clenching of his teeth. "Finish the battle."

Spyro nodded his heart boiling with rage along with, Adir's. They didn't come this far to fail and the shooting down of one of their mentors made their feel a great fury. "We will, Cyril. Some of us have to stay with him and protect him." The Purple Dragon stated.

"I will watch out for him." Zima volunteered. Everyone that attacked the Skavengers were both her rescuers and allies in this moment. They have risked a great deal coming here and now one of them is hurt badly. She had to return the favor.

Though most were surprised to see someone like, Zima now wasn't the time for introduction and explanations. There were still many Skavengers about and, Skabb with his two parrots were on the platform in the middle of the fleet with the two wretched birds laughing in triumph over their shooting of, Cyril.

"I'll stay and watch his back as well." Jim volunteered next standing guard near the dragon while, Tracy held, Cyril's head comfortingly though that offered little for the pain. She had some red gems with her but that would hardly help.

"Ill do what I can for him. Go get that captain!" She shouted her heart breaking for the Dragon who had become a dear friend to her over the past few weeks. She was not going to let anything happen to him now.

"Come on." Spyro called to the others who followed him towards the platform where Skabb was awaiting them. While Zima stayed at one side of the Ice Guardian taking aim at more Skavengers who came charging over the other ships at them shooting them down with what was left of her arrows before taking out her daggers and began to take her vengeance against the Pirates while, Jim did the same on the other side of the dragon keeping the dragon safe from more harm while, Tracy went to work using the red gems she had on hand trying to heal up area's that were most damaged on the dragon who could only writhe in his agony but was thankful for his companions watching out for him and prayed to the ancestors that, Spyro and others will have good fortune when they all jumped upon the platform facing down the Captain of the Skavengers reading themselves for a fight that will be their greatest challenge yet.
