Breakfast came just as Ernesta entered the dining room. She could smell fresh pancakes all the way from the corridor.
"Enjoy."
"Thank you Alice." Ernesta patted the blonde on her head. One of Alice's wishes was to be taller than Ernesta so she could try patting her head. Gosh, that sound's kind of weird.
Ernesta seemed to enjoy the pancakes a little too much. Basically she was aggressively devouring them like her life depended on it. Alice considered telling her to stop since she could and probably would end up choking. However, it just looked so funny right now. She broke out in laughter infront of Ernesta. The brunette just stared at her like she was crazy before she broke into a laughing fit herself. By the time they finished, they swore tears were in their eyes.
"Alice, I don't get why we were laughing."
"I don't get why you were laughing but the way you ate was funny."
"The way I ate? At least you know the pancakes are good." she explained while taking another bite, clearly not bothered with how she looked right now.
"Yeah I guess, I'll be going bye." Alice opened the large door but before she could even get her foot outside, Ernesta stopped her.
"You mind telling you're lovely master where you're going?"
"To water the flowers."
"Why don't you stay here and eat with me? Besides I can't eat all of these."
"Hmm, you sure?"
"Yes, why would I be asking you this?"
And so Alice sat down at the dining table eating with Ernesta. The brunette was right, she made way too many pancakes. I mean what coukd she say? The milk would be expired tomorrow so the blonde made a little extra. Well, it wasn't just a little extra - it was way more. Certainly, none of them would be finishing this now. They would be saving this for later on in the day.
Pancakes was probably one of the only things that Alice could cook without accidentally setting the kitchen on fire. That has happened way too many times before she's supprised that she hasn't been banned from the kitchen yet. So all she would could would be soup, pancakes, scones and sometimes fish and chips. If it was anything else, it would be done when Ernesta was around. Slowly, Alice had been getting better. The oven hadn't been on fire for a while. Progress.
"I'll be in my study if you need me or I'll find you if I need you, enjoy the rest of you're day Alice!" Ernesta waved goodbye to her maid as she left.
"Bye" Alice responded quietly. She'd better go water the plants right now.
It took like an hour to water all of the plants because Ernesta had so many. The entire garden was literally a rainbow. At least it was always bright, positive and always had some kind of excitement in them. Ernesta was all of those things just like her plant collection. Alice thought about her most of the time, even now. She didn't know why but every time she thought of the brunette, she could feel herself blushing. Her face was probably tomato red. She couldn't have a crush on her besides, was a woman. Was it wrong? Alice didn't really think so.
She couldn't help but wonder what was Ernesta doing in that study. Despite knowing the brunette for many years, Alice didn't know much about her. She knew that she had a successful business somewhere as well as some of her interests such as flowers and baking but that's pretty much it. One part of her felt like she should know more, the other part felt like it was none of her business.
With her mind on Ernesta, she couldn't focus on what she was doing. She ended up letting go of the watering can. As a result, it fell on her feet. Alice let out a sharp gasp as she held her feet. That hurt. A lot. If Ernesta was here, she would giggle and call her clumsy. She waited a few minutes for the pain to disappear before getting back to work. As soon as it did, she picked up the can and began watering the plants again.
More things are going to happen. I swear I have some kind of a plot for this fanfic.
