After history class was over, Rory walked up to her locker. She was hoping that Dean and Jess would leave her alone. To her surprise, Tristin was the one that walked up to her. Rory was surprised to see that Tristin was dressed like Paris, so she asked, "What's going on?"

Tristin had a smug smile on his face, while saying, "I want you to go to the prom with me."

Rory sighed and said, "I can't believe that another guy wants to ask me out. Tristin, there's no way that I would go out with you. By the way, what's up with the outfit?"

Tristin said, "I'm trying to look like Paris."

Rory asked, "Why?"

Tristin put his hands on his hips, while saying, "You know why?"

Rory replied, "I don't know why. I don't get what's going on!"

Tristin said, "You like Paris."

Rory said, "I like Paris a lot. At first, we didn't get along, but we did become good friends."

Tristin nudged Rory, while replying, "I think it's time that you admit to yourself that you and Paris are more than that."

Rory asked, "What are you talking about?"

Tristin explained, "I know that Paris used to have a big crush on me. However, I also know that she's no longer interested in me. Instead of liking me, she likes you."

Rory replied, "I don't know what you're talking about."

Tristin responded, "Considering how smart you are, I have little doubt that you'll have much trouble figuring out what's going on."

A few minutes later, Tristin walked up to Paris's locker. Paris was shocked by Tristin's appearance. Tristin chuckled and said, "I know that it's probably weird to see me dressed like you."

Paris replied, "That's for sure. What's going on?"

Tristin took off the wig and threw it away, while saying, "To be honest, I don't have a good explanation for my appearance. However, you don't have a good explanation for why you haven't asked Rory to the prom."

Paris said, "For your information, Rory asked me to the prom."

Tristin replied, "Really? She's smart enough to ask you out, but isn't smart enough to know how you two feel about each other? I love Rory, but she's quite weird."

Paris couldn't resist blushing, while asking, "How do you know about my feelings for Rory?"

Tristin proudly said, "Because I'm a smart guy. I have the power to sense these sorts of things."

Paris said, "Does that mean that you knew that I had a crush on you?"

Tristin replied, "I sure did."

Paris asked, "Then how come you never talked to me about it?"

Tristin answered, "I didn't feel like it." Paris gave Tristin a disapproving look. Tristin chuckled and walked away.

A week later, Rory went to prom. She walked into the gymnasium, while wearing her Vampirina costume. Part of her felt ridiculous for wearing such a silly costume to the prom, but another part of her felt happy because she knew that her mother would love it.

A few minutes later, Taylor and Lorelai arrived. Taylor was wearing a nice suit, while Lorelai was wearing an old t-shirt and a pair of yoga pants. Taylor looked at Lorelai, while saying, "That outfit's not okay. This is supposed to be a fancy event."

Lorelai replied, "I'm just a chaperone, so I'll be fine."

Taylor said, "Well, I have a lot of complaints about your choice of wardrobe."

Lorelai replied, "I have a lot of complaints with your whining."

Rory walked up to Lorelai, while saying, "Hi, Mom."

Lorelai replied, "Hi, Rory. You look amazing!"

Rory said, "To be honest, I felt pretty silly when I was putting on this costume."

Lorelai replied, "That's understandable, but you know what? There's nothing wrong with a little silliness."

Taylor looked at Lorelai, while saying, "You have got to be kidding me. You can't let your daughter wear this type of outfit to the prom."

Lorelai replied, "Stop whining."

Taylor said, "I don't mean to complain, but proms are supposed to be a dignified, fancy event. It's one of the classiest types of events for youngsters. This isn't a Halloween party."

Lorelai replied, "Well, I made a few mistakes."

Taylor folded his arms, while responding, "You sure did."

Rory said, "My mom might have picked out the wrong outfit, but I don't care. I think I look cute."

Lorelai replied, "You look super adorable."

A few minutes later, Paris walked into the gym, while wearing a Wolverine costume. Lorelai and Rory looked incredibly surprised, while Taylor looked super frustrated. Paris walked up to Rory, while shyly saying, "Hi, Rory."

Rory replied, "Hi, Paris. If you're wondering why I'm dressed like a vampire, my mom thought that this was a Halloween party."

Paris said, "Even though it's not, I look like I belong in a Halloween party."

Rory said, "If I may ask, what's up with the costume?"

Paris explained, "Rory, I know I'm not your first choice to go to prom with. I remember you having a crush on Logan from the X-Men, so I got this Wolverine costume. I know that I probably look ridiculous, but I was hoping that the outfit would make you like me more."

Rory had an amused expression on her face, while saying, "Paris, I had a crush on a real guy that was named Logan, not the X-Men character."

Paris looked incredibly embarrassed, while replying, "Well, I feel like an idiot."

Rory said, "You shouldn't feel like that. If anything, you picked the right outfit. We're both dressed in weird outfits, but together, we can be a perfectly eccentric duo."

Paris replied, "I suppose that sounds nice."

Rory stuck her hand out, while saying, "So, are you ready to dance?"

Paris shyly answered, "I guess I am."

A few minutes later, Dean and Jess walked into the gym. Dean was still dressed as a biker, while Jess was still wearing a clown costume. They looked around and saw Rory dancing with Paris.

Dean sighed and said, "It seems like Tristin was right about Rory being interested in Paris."

Jess replied, "We don't know if Rory is actually smitten with Paris. I'm going to ask Rory to dance with me."

Dean stuck his hand in front of Jess's face, while saying, "I don't think that would be a good idea."

Jess asked, "Are you still jealous?"

Dean said, "I am, but that's not the problem. I think that we've caused Rory enough stress. If we truly respect her, we should leave her alone."

Jess sighed and replied, "I suppose that would be for the best."

Rory and Paris continued dancing with each other. Even though Paris was dressed like a superhero and Rory was dressed like a vampire, both of them took their dance seriously. They danced with grace and eloquence. Both of them felt a little shy about the dance, which led to some blushing. However, despite everything that happened, they had a nice dance.

As they were dancing, Rory said, "Paris, I have to know why you gave me a bouquet of golf clubs. Compared to Dean and Jess, you were actually being pretty normal, but the golf clubs were a weird touch."

Paris replied, "There is a reason that I got you the golf clubs, but it might not make sense to you."

Rory said, "Well, you can try telling me."

Paris explained, "I remembered how close you and your grandfather were. I also remember you telling me how you two bonded after he taught you how to golf. I figured that the golf clubs might be a nice gesture, but I was so scared to ask you out that I just dumped the golf clubs on your lap and ran away."

Rory said, "So, the golf clubs were your way of asking me out?"

Paris replied, "I suppose they were. I know that probably sounds weird."

Rory said, "I think it's really sweet."

Paris looked surprised, while replying, "Really?"

Rory answered, "Yeah."

Paris said, "I only met your grandfather a few times, but I do know him well enough to know that he'd be really proud of you."

Rory replied, "Thank you."

A couple of tears started coming out of Rory's eyes, so Paris nervously asked, "Are you okay?"

Rory said, "I am. These are happy tears. Most people don't understand how important my grandfather was to me. He was like a father to me. I always miss him, but I always keep his memory alive in my heart. The day he took me golfing is one of my favorite memories. Thank you for bringing those memories back. It means the world to me, Paris."

Paris replied, "You're welcome."

Rory said, "I love you."

Paris replied, "I love you, too."

Lorelai and Taylor looked around and saw Rory and Paris kissing each other. Lorelai said, "Aww, I'm so happy for them."

Taylor asked, "Should we stop them?"

Lorelai said, "If you attempt to ruin their kiss, I will kick you out."

Taylor replied, "Then I'll leave them alone."

Lorelai responded, "Smart decision."

Rory and Paris shared another dance, while smiling and blushing. Rory was started to realize what Tristin was trying to tell her. She realized that she and Paris liked one another in a very personal, special way.

After Rory finished dancing, Rory walked up to Lorelai and asked, "Did you see me dance?"

Lorelai said, "I sure did. Both you and Paris did a wonderful job."

Paris walked by and said, "Thank you."

Lorelai said, "So, did Paris explain the reason for the golf clubs?"

Rory replied, "Yes she did. It's in memory of Grandfather."

Lorelai said, "Really?"

Rory explained, "Paris remembered how Grandfather and I bonded over golf."

Lorelai looked at Paris, while saying, "That was really sweet of you."

Paris replied, "It was no big deal."

Lorelai looked at Rory, while saying, "If Grandfather was here, he'd be the proudest grandfather in the whole world. He loved you so much."

Rory replied, "He loved you so much, too."

Lorelai said, "Sometimes, I doubted that."

Rory replied, "Sometimes, he might not have expressed it, but I can tell that you meant a lot to him."

Lorelai responded, "Thank you."

Rory said, "You know what? I feel like having a dance with you. How about it?"

Lorelai gleefully replied, "I'll start playing some songs from the Filipino Batman musical."

Rory looked at Paris, while asking, "Is it okay if I have a dance with my mom?"

Paris replied, "Of course it is. Just make sure that you save the last dance for me."

Rory responded, "I will." Rory's prom was far weirder than she expected it to be. However, thanks to her grandfather, mother and girlfriend, it was also far better than she could have ever imagined.
