Notes

Lady Shella Whent is the lady of Harrenhal in the canon, she dies at some undetermined point in the story. However, the Family Tree of House Whent is somewhat confusing, with both Lady Shella and her husband, Walter, being Whents by birth. In turn, the books told us that Shella's father was lord of Harrenhal, then Shella is a lady in her own right, and she's married to a cousin (Walter).

Lady Shella's kinship has with Minisa (Hoster Tully's wife), Sarya (Walder Frey's fifth wife) and Wynafrei (the wife of Danwell Frey, Walder Frey's eighth child) is undetermined. Therefore, the kinships I'm going to mention aren't canonical but part of fanfic.

Casa Whent:

Lady Shella Whent, Lady of Harrenhal (dead in the year 300)

Walter Whent, her cousin and husband. Killed in Robert's Rebellion.

Four sons. Killed in Robert's Rebellion.

Wynafrei Whent. Married to Danwell, without issue (therefore, Wynafrei is the maiden in whose honor the Tourney at Harrenhal was held). It is the last Whent alive.

Ser Oswell Whent. The younger brother of Walter, member of the Kingsguard. Killed in the Tower of Joy.

Lady Minisa Whent. Shella's younger sister. Married to Hoster Tully and died giving birth to Hoster's fourth child, who died soon after (this is canon, if in doubt).

Lady Sarya Whent. Shella's younger sister. Walder Frey's fifth wife, she died without issue.

For such reasons, when Lady Shella died, the possession of the castle would pass to Wynafrei, however, she was omitted and the castle is granted to Littlefinger, by virtue of his marriage to Lysa. This generated a displeasure to Winafrei, however, not being able to have offspring her claims are insignificant, after all, Lysa is also in the line of succession.

Remember that these ties are only part of my speculation, however, many agree that Minisa was Shella's sister. As for Wynafrei, I decided she was Harrenhal's maid based on the age of Danwell, who according to the wiki was born between 252 and 261.

I assume that he was born around the year 260, as he is the fourth child (of seven) of Lady Amerei Ckrakehall (the third wife of Walder Frey). And Merret, the fifth child, is 38 years old. Then it would not be strange if Danwell was 40 and Winafrei, 35.

And well because I find it interesting to give a face to Harrenhal's maiden. And because it would be a little disturbed if father and son (Walder and Danwell) married two sisters or cousins.

That's it, a greeting and I hope my explanation hasn't been too confusing.

LYSA I

There was no sweeter sound than being called Lady Baelish, not even being called queen could be compared to her. Petyr was always the man she loved from her earliest years and was now married to him. Unfortunately for her, her father was barely aware of her marriage and according to Edmure would soon die. Lysa hated him, he had taken her away from Petyr and handed her over to the decrepit Jon Arryn.

Now she was the lady of Harrenhal and no one could protest, after all, her mother was a Whent and after the death of her aunt Shella, the possession of the castle had to pass to her or to one of her brothers. Fortunately, the King granted it to Petyr instead of one of Catelyn's sons, it would not be fair to her, who always stayed with the leftlovers of others.

Her children would bear the name Baelish, but their blood would be Tully and Whent, reason enough to be respected in every corner of the Seven Kingdoms. Ser Oswell Whent wore a white cloak and was one of the greatest warriors ever seen. If she had more than one son with Petyr, one of them could be part of the Kingsguard, after all her husband had great influence in the court, he was a powerful lord in everything but the lands.

"Good morning, Lady Baelish", greeted her Ser Willis Wode, the castle's castellan.

"Good morning, Ser Willis, who should we put before today?" asked Lysa, who felt very comfortable running the castle since Petyr returned to King's Landing.

"To your uncle, my lady, Ser Brynden Tully wants to talk to you.

Lysa did not expect a visit from her uncle, who was summoned to Riverrun shortly before her little Robert died and has not returned to the Valey. The decision infuriated her, because one of the few people who loved her was taken from her, the only man from Riverrun who moved to the Valey when she married the old man.

She was afraid of whatever he was going to say, his opinion was the only one she cared about. He knew Petyr just like her entire family; however, he also knew the reason why Petyr left Riverrun. And if her uncle disapproved, all Riverlands would disagree with him. If her uncle wanted it, the lords could prefer Lady Shella's infertile daughter over her Petyr.

"Your husband has made a good mess, niece", he said when they were alone.

"Do you also whisper behind our backs?" snapped Lysa.

"No, I just want you to marry a good man. Lord Baelish is an upstart."

"Weren't the founders of all the houses also?"

The Black Fish frowned.

"In any case, your father is not as angry as I expected."

"Really?"

"He's furious that you married Baelish, but that a grandson of his is going to be lord of Harrenhal has revitalized him. He is still sick, but his mind is returning to what it was. After all, he sent me to talk to you."

Lysa was overjoyed. She knew that her father would never accept her marriage to Petyr, but if he was pleased by something it was a victory for her. Pleasing her father was never easy, he always admired Cat too much, the perfect daughter who had given him many grandchildren. Lysa only gave Robert and the child she was forced to abort.

Lysa would give him new grandchildren, she was still young, and Petyr's seed was not weak like Jon Arryn's. Grandchildren who would be Edmure's most powerful vassals, House Tully would depend on House Baelish for centuries to come. Petyr's progeny would be powerful, knights and statesmen who would star in the history books of the Citadel.

"Soon I will give him a grandson", Lysa said.

"It is possible that my brother will die before the end of the year, Lysa. Perhaps the best thing is that he never meets Petyr's children."

Lysa was upset, but her uncle grabbed her hand and comforted her without even saying a word. Then, he spoke:

"I don't like Lord Baelish, but your children will have me the years I have left. And I'm sure they could be Edmure's squires, I'll make sure of it."

Her uncle's words made her feel happy. She always had, he was always the favorite, the man she could turn to when her own father ignored her. And not only her, Catelyn, Edmure and even Petyr enjoyed talking to him and he always had time for them. For years he was the Knight of the Gate, living in a strange land just for the love of Lysa.

Then they walked through the castle and greeted the servants. Petyr had kept them all, including the older ones like Ben Blackthumb or Harra. Such was his generosity that he allowed the servants of his old keep to move to Harrenhal, which they had gladly accepted. Even so, the castle still felt empty.

Petyr could be rich, but not even he could rebuild the castle to its fullest. The Whent at their best only used the lower levels of the castle, letting the upper ones collapse. Petyr knew this and promised to hire more servants, to be at the level of the other lords, so that everyone would admire the power of House Baelish. He had promised that he would make the castle so profitable that the royal family itself would envy them.

"We will be so happy", she sighed to herself and allowed herself to daydream.
