The Grand Finale. This is it. I hope whoever has read it enjoyed it. It's taken me close to 2years to write this story. I know It's not the best written story but it was something I really wanted to do. Since I first started, I knew just how bad I was but as time progressed I was realizing how much better I was becoming. 157k words later and I finally finished. 4 set of chapters.
This was alot of fun to do but things need to came to an end... And I hope this finally was well worth it.
I was debating if I was going to split this chapter into two parts but then I decided to upload the whole thing.
The reason why its called The Missing Side of the Story is because it couldn't be told from Craig's POV. It a part of the story that happens behind the scene of what Peanut, Bobby and Junior went through.
If you have read the last chapter set 1-3, then you'll understand the layout of how this final chapter is. The last chapter is always cut up into minor sections so that every character gets their own moment.
So again to whoever has come this far... Thank You for Reading and Welcome to Forces... one last time.
Please OH please leave a review. I would like to know how it all turned out.
Chapter 9 Word count is 8597

9 – 2.5 Frenemies
Driving up the street in the Residential Area, Talbot and Bobby see the squad cars parked up ahead. Pass the Squad Cars they see one of Mercury Town Police Car blocking the exit already. Talbot then makes a quick right also making sure to block the exit as well. He then turns off the engine.
Bobby turns to look at Talbot trying to figure out what's going through his mind. He sees him biting his bottom lip as he looks at the three Maple Town Police Officers.
"That's gotta be her, The Captain." Talbot points out.
Bobby turns to look, seeing Three Officers looking around on the sidewalk. The more he looks, he remembers one of them. He remembers seeing the Female Cheetah Officer. "I remember her. So she's the Captain," he points out.
Talbot looks over to him. "You do?"
"Indeed. She was at the Pizza Parlor to talk to Marcus. She was also with another officer, but I don't see him with her."
Talbot turns back to check but then sees a couple of doors from different houses open. Each one, someone steps out. As they slowly make their way to them, they can feel the tension about to snap with each step they take. Talbot takes a deep breath… then slowly lets it out to get rid of the tension. "Here they go."
Bobby sees the Captain notices them approach, as he hears her say from a distance. "Hey… can you please go back inside? It's for your own safety."
They don't answer back as they keep walking to them.
One of the Officers next her tries to get her attention as he looks at them get closer and closer. She orders again "I'm not going to ask you-"
One of them pulls out an automatic rifle.
The Officer next to her sees him pull it out and jumps to her while shouting. "CAPTAIN GET DOWN." He's seen tackling her to the ground as they get fired upon. The 3rd Officer wasn't as lucky as his body get shredded with bullets. His body hits the floor motionless.
Bobby trying not to look away, he looks over to Talbot and sees him looking to the side and downward to the floor instead at what's going on. Getting angry as his fur flares, he scolds him. "LOOK!" He points at what's going on. "F&%$ING LOOK! DO NOT DIVERT YOUR EYES!"
"F&%$ off!" Talbot says back not looking.
"YOU WANTED THIS!"
"NOT LIKE THIS!" He shouts back miserably. He tries to look at the chaos happening as the gun shots are heard. "I-I… just needed the money. As long as I just kept myself out of whatever going on and just CRUISE ON BY… I could just get payed and then just f&%$ing disappear."
"And the amount you were going to get payed wasn't enough. You had to get me involved."
Before Talbot was able to say anything… The spotlight of the other Mercury Squad Car turns on and shines at the Captain and The Officer that are hiding. The radio activates being told. "Turn yours on and do the same." Talbot rubs his face and shamefully flips the switch to turn there spotlight on also.
"Don't even bother telling me your real name. Talbot suits you just fine." Someone runs pass the light getting his attention. "But with me being here." He looks back to Talbot. "I will always do the right thing." He grabs the spotlight controls and points it at the person who ran pass it.
Talbot stares at the person being hit with the spotlight. Soon after… he goes flying back getting shot. He rolls on the floor with his hands on his face till he remains still, never getting up. Gun shots are then heard again, as he sees The Captain shooting at the house front door that's close to them. They both get up and run to the door as fast as they can as the person with the Automatic Rifle opens fire at them. The front door gets bashed open, as they quickly get inside… then the door gets slammed shut soon afterwards.
The shooters approach the house from all different sides and begin to circle around it plotting how to enter to finish the job. The other Squad Car that's blocking the road, The Driver exits out and head to the house. Once reaching it, one of them point at it and gives instructions on how to enter.
Bobby points at the house, "What are you waiting for? Go finish why you're here."
"And you? I don't see you moving."
"I have nothing to do with this, so I will do no such thing."
"Why not? What's stopping you?"
"I'm not stepping out of this vehicle unarmed."
Talbot reaches for the door handle and stops. Reaches again then pulls away again. "I'll go when things calm down."
Disgusted, Bobby then ridicules, "You really did meant about cruising on by, letting others do the work for you. Your parents really raised a fine lad. They must be proud on how you must've turned out." Once he finishes, from the corner of his eye he sees Talbot fur flares.
Talbot doesn't make eye contact as he says, "My mom and dad are proud of me. Don't EVER TALK ABOUT THEM!" He was so enraged that he grabs the door handle and pulls on it, opening the door. He storms out and slams the door not uttering a word back.
Laughing in the car by himself, he then lets out a victorious sigh. "Who's breaking now?" but listening closely he can hear something… something that sounds like a low, rumbling roar.
The door to the car quickly opens as Talbot re-enters. He slams the door as he says, "I accept your apology, I ACCEPT IT!" he frantically reaches out flipping the switch to turn off the spotlight.
Before Bobby can ask what's going on… A loud car crash comes from the opposite side of the street. He quickly turns to check what it was. What he sees is a Massive Truck coming to a stop in front of the house.
Checking to see how the other Squad Car was that was blocking the street and it was gone. It was rammed with enough force that it was sent flying to one of the other houses driveway. It was laid upside down as the passenger was still inside out cold.
Looking back at the Truck and the driver's door was wide open. Whoever drove it already ran into the house. Wait… Is that the same truck that I saw awhile back? Looking back at the Truck again and it was. It had the same logo on it stating, Chaotix Detective Agency.
Talbot trying to remain calm, "Oh shit… did you see the size of him? He just ran right in."
Bobby smiles at the situation and looks over to Talbot noticing how concerned he was. He looks at the house again as a sinister thought enters his mind. "I think they need assistance in there."
Talbot shakes his head. "Naw, they have it under control. They got this."
"Are you sure?" Bobby smirks.
"Yeah… they have it-" Someone gets thrown out of a window. His body hits the pavement and slides before coming to a stop. "Yeah, …they got this."
"Someone just got thrown through a window."
"Yeah… that's called celebrating. I don't know how you celebrate from where you come from, but that's celebrating." He turns the key turning on the car. "Yeah, we're done here." He goes in reverse getting far away from the house as much as possible.
Heading back to the PD… The radio dispatcher delivers a warning for everyone. "THE BOA FUGITIVE HAS BEEN LOCATED AT MERCURY PUBLIC GAS STATION! ANYONE AND EVERYONE IS TO REPORT TO THE MERCURY PUBLIC GAS STATION LOCATED NEAR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT! HEAD THERE RIGHT NOW!"
Once the order was announced, the car slowly comes to a stop as everything becomes dead silent. Inside Talbot couldn't believe what just came out of the radio. "Umm… about that… second deal?"
The passenger door opens and Bobby steps out.
Talbot watches him walk the rest of the way. Looking back to the street and to the left side, he sees the Gas Station that was announced. Turning back at Bobby… he didn't know what to do. Gripping the steering wheel tight, he tilts his head down onto it frustrated, "F&%$ me… what am I going to do? Dad… mom… I need it… I need the money."
9 – 5.5 I Need the Money
Feeling dread fill deep within, Talbot knew that going to the Gas Station was a bad idea. No matter what, the PD was going to get attacked and the kid was going to be taken back. He shakes his head as he mutters getting desperate, "No… I need it. I need it." He pulls over to the side and gets out of the car to shout to Bobby. "WHERE THE F&%$ DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?"
"I'M HEADING back to the Police Department. YOU, already have your orders."
Talbot chases after him, while looking at the Gas Station that's across the street and states. "So you're telling me to go f&%$ing die." He gets in front of Bobby while pointing at the Gas Station worried. "You know what's going to happen there… right?"
Bobby stops and stares him down. "It doesn't concern me to what's going to happen to any of you." He then shoves him out of the way and keeps walking. "All of you deserve it… especially you after what you did at the Donut Shop, GIVING HIM AWAY!"
Talbot just stands there and watches as Mercury Officers begin to arrive at the Gas Station. They come running from the Police Station that's next to it. Police Squad Cars also pull up into the station and park along the street. He chases after Bobby again. "OK FINE! I F&%$ED UP! What else do you want from me?"
Bobby stops again. "I want you TO ADMIT, that what you are doing is WRONG AND TO CORRECT YOURSELF!"
Talbot shouts desperately as he answers. "I CAN'T… I NEED THIS! I CAN'T GO BACK HOME WITH OUT IT!"
He… He… broke. I broke him. Seeing the desperation in his eyes, Bobby calms down and asks, "Why do you need the money so-"
A gun shot sounds off causing them to look where it came from. In an instant… a deafening explosion occurs knocking them off their feet and sends them flying towards the park.
Talbot lands in the bushes but Bobby ends up colliding into a tree. Rolling onto his back in pain, he stares to the night sky as it slowly turns tinted orange. Slowly rising up, he puts his hand to his ribs hoping there not broken. Difficult to breathe, he gets up while looking at the ruined Gas Station engulfed in flames. Squad cars were either on fire or on their side but what truly puts fear into anyone is the geyser of fire spewing out and into the sky. So many bodies lay on the floor either scorched or engulfed in flames. Craig single handedly took out the entire PD.
Looking around for Talbot, he knew that he had to be somewhere around. "Talbot?" He says in pain. "Talbot? Where are you?" Checking the bushes, but nothing; he now knew where he really was. Turning to the PD, he had to make a choice. Either stop him or kill him. One way or another… he's not taking Mr. Plummer.
Making his way across the street and to the PD, he sees a dead body on the pavement. Near the body was his handgun laying on the floor. Grabbing onto it but he quickly had to pass it from hand to hand feeling how hot it was till it cools down. Reaching the PD he makes his way to the side of the building and to the parking lot he hears the sound of a gunshot. Crouching down and heading to where the shot came from, he hears a voice giving demands while another pleads.
"LIKE HELL I WILL! I'm getting my money… No matter what."
Hiding behind a squad car he hears the voice again. He knew it was Talbot. Looking over it, he sees Talbot aiming his gun at another Officer. The Officer was pleading, holding out a hand to him. His other arm he was holding… what looks like someone behind his back? "Mr. Plummer." He mutters. About to rise up to get involved…
Mr. Plummer pulls out a gun startling Talbot.
The Officer also gets scared seeing the gun inches away from his face, "OH Shit… I forgot that you had that." He then pleads again looking back to Talbot. "Put it down… please… Both of you. PUT IT DOWN!"
Looking at The Officer beginning to panic, he begins to notice who he is. It's the Raccoon Officer. He was with the Captain at the Pizza Parlor. Now he's here trying to save Mr. Plummer.
Talbot aims back as his hand trembles holding his gun but he doesn't back down. "No… He's coming with… me…" He glances over to his side seeing Bobby rise up from behind the car and heads to them. He slowly shakes his head. "No… I need this… I need it."
Bobby raises the gun, and aims it at him.
Talbot doesn't back down, keeping the gun raised as he pleads, "Don't stop me. I can't go home without it."
"Get out of here Mr. Plummer. I'll deal with him."
"Mr. Plummer?" Talbot asks as he looks at the kid that the Officer is holding onto. "It's him… isn't it?"
"Correct." Bobby answers and walks between them. He then gestures the Officer to run off with Mr. Plummer.
The Officer slowly backs away as Talbot fights with himself not to pull the trigger on Bobby. "I NEED THIS!" He desperately shouts again.
"Put it down, you're not going to shoot me."
"AND YOU'RE NOT GOING TO SHOOT ME… NOW MOVE!" He says still seeing the Officer run off with the kid.
"What makes you think that I won't do it, after what you made me go through?"
Talbot takes his eyes off of the kid and puts them on Bobby. "You want to know why?" He taps his waist and goes through his pocket. Taking out the Revolver that belonged to Marcus, he then tosses it to the floor in front of Bobby. "The kids… and the two guy's at the Donut Shop… You never did it. The f&%$ing gun still loaded. That's why."
Bobby sees him go back to staring at Mr. Plummer escape seeing him get desperate. "The reason why I know why you won't shoot me is because you're sympathetic. Every time you've shown yourself to be cruel and vile... you then show a part of yourself to be caring and compassionate."
Talbot just stands there still staring at his chance getting away from him, he sees The Officer begin to run across the street heading to the park, losing his chance. Clenching his eyes… he lowers his gun in defeat. He begins to confess why he needed the money so much. "Everything always goes wrong for me. My mother passed away not too long ago. I grieved so much that my dumbass fell into debt. I tried to pay it off… but I couldn't. Time after time I would only make things worse and every bad card dealt to me… I got tired of looking at it. I casted it to the side… not realizing that my dad… He found out how bad I had it. He took it upon himself to deal with it taking a second job to pay for it. He did all of this behind my back… till one night…" Beginning to cry. "He never came back home. He died getting into an accident driving back. I've been trying ever since to get enough money to bury them together… But I can't even do that." He looks down at the gun in his hand. "I can't even do that. I'm done… I give up. It was all my fault. Everything I try to do, I always go f&^$ing it up."
"Have you tried this yet?"
Hearing Bobby's voice, he looks right back to him seeing his hand out to him with his gun to his side now. Staring at his hand… He looks away from it shaking his head. "No… I'm not going to accept that deal."
"This isn't a deal."
"Just go away." Talbot asks and goes back to looking at his gun.
Keeping an eye on Talbot's gun, he wonders, Is he giving up… on… No Wait… Is he thinking about committing… He anxiously asks, "Just let me help-"
"NO! JUST… just go away." Talbot pleads.
Bobby doesn't budge and just stands there.
"What?... GET THE F&%$ OUT OF HERE!"
Bobby shakes his head. "No… I will not go anywhere. If you're going to do it… then do it. I'm going to stand here and watch you do it."
Talbot stands there, looking at the gun in his hand in contemplating on what to do.
Bobby reaches out with his left hand and asks. "It's your turn to hand it over."
Talbot fights with himself thinking about going through with his request, till he slowly puts his gun out to him to grab ahold of it.
Once close enough… Bobby goes for his wrist instead and pulls him hard enough, causing Talbot to lose his footing, stumbling forward… and with one solid punch across the jaw. Talbot was out cold collapsing to the floor. Bobby falls onto his knees holding his side in pain. He reaches out, taking his gun away from him. He then takes his handcuffs from him and uses them on the nearest squad car.
Once done, he turns and walks away heading back to the front of the PD. With a sigh of relief, "I'm sorry. It's for your own good," he mutters sadly. Reaching the front of the PD again, he sees so many Police Officers and Squad Cars parked in front of the PD. With everyone's full attention to the main entrance, he was able to blend into the crowd leaving the PD behind.
Meanwhile across the street and to the park, The Raccoon Officer was still carrying Peanut. He waits patiently hidden around trees 'till he really knew it was safe to go back.
While Peanut holds on, he keeps noticing The Officer's bright blue eyes flicker. "Officer, when are we going back?"
"When it's safe, we'll go back. I just can't tell if there from Maple PD or from here."
With a response like that, Peanut now knew that he can trust him. "You're not one of them?"
"My name is Drew and no… I'm not really a cop… per-say."
Hearing the shame in his voice, peanut smiles and says, "Cop or not… Thank you."
An Ambulance pulls into the driveway of the PD.
"It should be safe now." Drew runs back across the street heading straight to the Ambulance. One of the Paramedics step out of the Ambulance as he runs up to him, "Quick, take him."
Getting surprised, he looks at Peanut. "Is he one of the-"
"Yes… take him." Drew passes Peanut over to the Paramedic and watches him get taken to the back of the vehicle. Taking a step back, getting away from the Ambulance; he then looks at the PD being surrounded by Officers of Maple PD.
With everyone talking over each other becoming a gargled mess, one of them shouts, "SOMEONE'S COMING OUT!" Every squad car points there spotlights at the main entrance as Craig and Junior step out.
Rewind, Junior sits in the Conference Room waiting for what's to come next.

9 – 5.5 The Best kind of Bad Influence
I was placed back onto one of the seats, but with this time my hands were handcuffed behind my back. There was no way I was cutting through them since I still remember where I threw the envelope opener. Once they left the room, I knew that just sitting around was a bad idea because once Brutal comes back… it's the end for me. Seeing them walk out there was one very stupid thing that they forgot to do… They didn't restrain me right. I stood up from my seat. My feet weren't restrained. Laying down on the floor and with my legs being short; I was able to easily slip the hand cuffs underneath one of my feet… "Gah!... oh, ahh… cramp. Oh cramp… Go away… go away. Ooh!" Once the pain was gone, I then do the next foot and just laid there for a bit.
While on the floor I turn to look at the huge window… and the Rooster Officer was there looking at me. Not knowing if I should be concerned, calm, relieved or scared… he then gives me a thumbs up and then gestures me to keep going. I nod to him and get back up.
Meanwhile out in the hallway, Regal keeps watch and just focuses on Junior. "Keep going kid. I'm just taking up a little bit of screen time," he says quietly.
Another Officer walks up to him. "So is he behaving in… there?" turning to look into the Conference Room becoming confused. "What the… f&%$, …where did all the chairs go?"
Regal points to his left to the door.
The Officer looks inside the room and checks to the left. What he sees is The Kid walking into view and every chair was placed on the door barricading it. "Dammit… that's just great."
"At least he's not going anywhere." Regal sarcastically adds.
They watch The Kid walk back to the presentation table and pick something off from the floor. He then sits on the table looking right back at them holding onto something sharp.
"Oh shit… he means business." The Officer said.
"What do you expect? He has a lot to lose. He's ready to go down fighting."
The Officer begins to rub the back of his neck while looking into the Conference Room. "People are… starting to quit now. Getting scared with how things are turning out." He looks over to Regal. "Someone found Marcus dead. Bullet, right in the center of his chest." He shakes his head sadly. "He wasn't even wearing his vest out there. Doesn't make any sense… He always has it on."
Hearing the worried tone in his voice he asks, "You sound like you're going to quit."
Shaking his head being unsure, "I'm on the fence about doing it, but Brutal still out there. What I've heard is that he's going to gather everyone together to launch a full scale attack to get out of this town with that kid."
Regal seeing how worried he was… he looks at his watch. Looking back at the Officer he also noticed how young he was. He had to be at least 17 years old. I can't get involved… but… maybe saving one more life won't hurt. He sighs, "Leave."
"What?" Surprised with what he said.
"Leave while you still have a chance." He advises.
"A chance?"
"Yeah." He turns and walks away. "Whatever you do… don't go by the Gas Station and just go straight home."
Taking the advice as a warning, he then asks. "What are you going to do?"
"Get a fresh batch of Pop-Corn. It should be ready for the climax."
The Officer chuckles. "You're f&^$ing weird. Take care of yourself." He looks at The Kid one last time and then cautiously heads to the exit.
Meanwhile Junior sits on the table focused on the window remembering what Peanut said that Craig told him. When everything is against you and you're at a dead end with only a knife in your hands with no chance but to fight... He looks at the envelope opener in his hands. "Always go for the neck." He mutters.
Once The Rooster Officer and whoever he was talking to left, all I did is focused on the window and nothing else as the seconds go by. I didn't know what I was even going to do if I saw Brutal coming. Being close to the main Office Room, I can barely hear anyone talk. Then everyone can be heard talking loudly through the wall. Someone was giving orders, but then someone then runs right by the window… then another… and another. "Is it another meeting?... Or is…" He grips the envelope opener tighter. "Brutal… He probly came back." He looks back at it in his hands, becoming worried now knowing how Peanut felt. "I don't think I can do it either." Looking back at the window he realizes that everything is now silent. "Did everyone leave? …Sounds like it." Everything was dead silent. "Where did everyone-"
Suddenly, the table he was sitting on, jolts up from the floor by force, sending him hurtling upward into the air.
Landing on the hardwood floor onto my side, I felt the floor was still trembling as if an earthquake just happened. Breathing heavily from the shock of it, "What the heck was that?" Looking up at the lights, they flicker trying to stay on. Standing back up holding onto my side, I look back at the table and it was now on its side. I then go back around it to hide and just sit on the floor. I just sat there and stared at the window.
Bit by bit it was starting to feel like I just stepped into a horror movie. Everything going completely dead silent, that I can hear myself breathing as I hid there. The lights flickering till they stop, making the room go dark. My hands were trembling as I tried my hardest not to panic until… the sound of footsteps echo from the hallway. Someone was coming. A shadowy figure limps by the window, stopping at the door. I hear the door rattle. The figure backs away from the door then aims at it, but instead the large window explodes into shards of glass.
The person brushes some of the glass away and then jumps over getting into the room. Being dark I wasn't able to see his face right. I see him looking directly at me and then puts out his hand saying, "Hey… I'm getting you out of here. So don't be afraid." Hearing that he wasn't one of them, I stand up looking away for one second and when I look back… My body locks into place in fear. …Someone was standing right behind him.
He gets stabbed from behind; an arm goes around his neck and gets pulled back into the hallway while shouting in pain. Dropping his gun as it makes a metallic impact on the floor; I take one step to the window only to see them come back into view, as they fight on the window.
The attacker behind him tilts his head upward and looks right at me. At that moment the lights flicker back on showing me his grotesque face. It was Brutal. His face and fur was completely burnt away. His left eye was also missing and his skin melted, showing his muscle tissue under neat. He snarls at me making me back away again.
Looking back at who was getting attacked and was someone that was a fox wearing a dark grey jacket instead of a cops uniform. Craig? Is that Craig?
Craig then grabs a shard of glass and stabs it into Brutal's arm.
In anger Brutal pulls him away from the window and tosses him towards the Office Area. He then looks right at me and then points. "You stay right there. I'll be back for you." And then walks out of view.
Hearing Brutal shout, "YOU ruined EVERYTHING!" and back to them fighting hearing Craig in pain again. "YOU LIKE THAT?!"
I slowly walk to the broken window. I look pass the window and see Brutal pinning Craig up against the wall. I look back down into the Conference Room seeing the gun that he dropped. I then… picked it up. Stepping into the hallway with gun in hand, I then slowly head into the Office Area. I watched as Brutal grabs Craig's left arm extending it to his side, then lifts his knee upwards breaking his arm over it. Craig shouts in pain but gets cut off as Brutal grabs him by the throat dragging him up the wall squeezing tight. "Once I'm done with you… I'll hunt that kid down and kill him myself."
"No… Peanut." saying quietly worried. With gun in hand, I lift it up and point it at Brutal… I then hear Peanuts voice in my head. Remember when I said that I broke my wrist? It's because I shot a gun at someone. …That person never got back up. Realizing everything now what Peanut went through, "This is why… this is how it happened."
Craig then shouts "NO!" snapping me out of it, I look back at them as Craig pulls the knife out that was lodged into his gut and then stabs it into Brutal's chest. Brutal begins to collapse backwards and while he does, Craig then kicks off the wall while still holding onto the knife and when hitting the floor… he plunges it even further into his chest. On the floor in a fit of rage… Craig unleashes right punches into Brutal's face over and over again.
I was glad that it was all over, but hearing and seeing his fist connects to Brutal's face over and over… the sound of bone breaking, teeth flying and Brutal's very own snout being punched into his very own skull. Craig was filled with anger that just terrified me. I started to whimper and cry.
…Craig… then… stops… and turns to look at me.
He heard me.
Craig struggles to stand up and slowly staggers over to me. He then reaches out to me and in a calm tired voice, he says, "It's over… you're safe now."
I look at his right hand shaking as it's drenched with blood. I then remember what I said to Peanut. Let him be the one to do this. Let him be the one to have his hands bloodied and not yours. From his hand, I then look up at him. …I drop the gun and reach out to grab it.
Holding onto his hand… we head to the front entrance.
9 – 6.5 I'll Never Lie Again
Once Drew handed Peanut over to the Paramedic, he quickly rushes to the back of the Ambulance to put Peanut into it. Inside the Paramedic checks on him while doing small talk that slowly gets on his nerves when all he really cared about was Craig saving Junior in the PD and especially seeing Bobby again.
The whole time Peanut doesn't even respond or answer any of the Paramedics questions... all he did is look out of the back of the open Ambulance.
"SOMEONES COMING OUT!" An Officer alerts.
I move to get a better look. "Hey don't move so much." The Paramedic asks.
I look at the entrance of the PD and see Craig and Junior step out. Every Squad Car spotlight was aimed at them. Craig was holding onto his left arm while Junior stands right next to him.
"PUT YOUR HANDS UP!" Someone orders from a speaker phone.
"I can't." Craig utters back barely being heard.
Someone demands again. "LAST TIME… PUT YOURE-"
but Craig shouts back. "I F&%$ING CANT!" And begins to limp down the steps.
I was starting to get anxious… but then I hear one of the Officers asks. "What should we do? ...Should we open fire?"
Once hearing the question, I jump out of my seat only to get grabbed by the Paramedic. "Calm down. You have to stay here."
"LET ME GO!" I plea.
"It's dangerous out there. You have to stay here."
I shout out of the Ambulance begging, hoping someone hears me. "DON'T SHOOT. PLEASE DON'T SHOOT! STOP! DON'T SHOOT!"
One of the Sargent's turns to the Ambulance, seeing and hearing Peanut begging. He turns back to Craig lowering his gun. He then orders, "Stand down. He has a kid with him… STAND DOWN!"
One of the Officers gets out of formation and heads to Craig to help, but getting close to Craig he gets angry not trusting him and demands, "BACK OFF!" The Officer keeps his distance accepting his demand.
Craig limps all the way to the Ambulance seeing Drew next to it. Another Paramedic walks to him, letting him pass Junior over to her.
The Paramedic takes Junior to the Ambulance and before stepping inside, Junior gives Craig one last look.
Inside The Paramedic helps Junior remove his handcuffs while he sits next to Peanut, but all Peanut does is look outside. "CRAIG!" He shouts out to him but all Craig does is stare right back for a bit… then turns and limps away.
Craig is seen limping to one of the squad cars as one of the Officers talk to him along the way. He stops at the back door as the Officer opens it for him to step into it.
"Craig." Peanut whimpers sadly mutters looking at Craig hurt sitting in the car.
The Paramedic tries to cheer him up. "Hey little man, you're going to be ok. A couple of scratches and a pretty nasty bump on your head. Just take it easy and everything will be over."
Junior pats him on the shoulder. "Yeah, it's all over. Just like I said… don't give up hope and we'll make it… and we did." They both look at Craig sitting in the Squad Car. "You were right about him. He's not that bad."
"So you saw the good side of him?"
"Umm… Kinda… sort'ove. Is… seeing him… punch someone face inn… considered being nice?"
Peanut giggles back as the Paramedic finished checking on him.
The Paramedic then moves to check on Junior and while checking on him, the Paramedic touches his lower side causing Junior to wince in pain from it.
Feeling miserable about it, he then says. "Thanks… thanks for being there when I needed someone around and sorry about ruining the fair."
"Don't worry about it. It's about time something new happened this year. The fair was getting a bit stale year after year." He Sighs. "But my dad always wants to go to it. It's his tradition to go every-"
"GABE!? GABE?!" Someone shouts outside of the Ambulance.
Junior's ears perk up and quickly looks out of the exit of the Ambulance. He then squirms out of the Paramedic's hands and rushes out. "HEY don't… geez. You two are the worst." He complains.
Peanut also steps out of the Ambulance and watches Junior franticly looking everywhere. "DAD!" He shouts out.
"GABE!" Junior turns in the direction from where the voice came from as someone comes rushing in hugging him.
Peanut stands there looking at Junior crying and hugging his dad back. He hears them apologizing to each other making him miss his own dad.
"Mr. Plummer, Do you want to go back home?"
Hearing Bobby's voice, he looks up and sees him hunched over holding onto his side in pain.
"I think we had enough excitement for tonight." He says again.
He nods feeling sorry about him and answers. "Yes. I'd like that very much."
Reaching the Lambo, Bobby opens the door for him to enter. Peanut was about to enter but then stops. Bobby notices and hears him sniffing. "Is something the matter?"
"I'm sorry. I'm so… sorry. I… I thought you… you… were gone. I really thought… you were gone." He turns and cries hugging him. "I-I promise… I promise never… to lie again. I promise. I'm sorry."
Bobby tries to hold his tears back; he hugs him back hearing him cry. "I'm sorry that you had to go through that. But everything's better and it's all behind us now." Making him feel better, Peanut releases him. "Now let's go back home. We have a long drive to do."
Peanut nods and steps into the car.
Bobby closes the door and just stands there regaining his composure as he wipes his eyes. He enters the car and then checks the rearview mirror seeing Mr. Plummer going to sleep. He puts the car into drive heading back to Nue Haven, leaving the horrible things that happened behind.
Hours later they arrive at the Plummer's Residence, needing to stop at the front main gate. Bobby looks at his watch seeing that it's close to 2am. He takes a deep breath and slowly lets it out. He looks at the rearview mirror seeing Mr. Plummer awake and looking out the window, staring at the gate slowly open. "I'm worried." He says in the back.
"It's ok. You know it better than me that there's no way of getting out of this. You're going to have to face him sooner or later."
Peanut slightly shakes his head still worried. "No. I'm not worried about me…" He looks at the mirror. "I'm worried about you."
Knowing that he's right, but he had to reassure him that it was going to be ok. "Don't be. Everything will be fine." He puts the car into drive, pulling into the driveway… slowly heading to the house. At the front of the house… Master Plummer stood there waiting. Exiting out, Bobby looks at him being concerned. He first left the residence with his Chauffeur's Uniform. Returning back, he's now wearing his White Under Shirt, Dark Blue Police Pants …both equally dirty and in bad shape. But at least he still had his Chauffeurs Cap, which was still in the car. He heads to Mr. Plummer's door and opens it for him to exit out.
Peanut exits out and slowly turns to Bobby giving him a final look before heading to his father. Once reaching him not making eye contact, he stops. "Dad? I'm-" He gets surprised getting grabbed by his shirt and being pulled into his arms.
His dad was kneeling down, giving him a hug. Peanut then hugs him back. "When I let you go… You… are grounded… for life."
…"Ok."
"It happened… did it?"
"Yeah…"
"You broke a rule… did you?"
…"Yeah."
"You were never with your friends… were you?"
"No."
He lets him go, and stands up. He looks down at him and says. "Go to your room, but before you go…" He looks at Bobby with his fist clenched. "Say goodbye to Mr. Holts."
With his worry coming true… he slowly turns to Bobby sadly and desperately looks back up to his dad. "It was my fault. Not his. Everything happened because I lied. It's not his fault."
His dad doesn't even look down to him and says again. "Say goodbye to Mr. Holts and go straight to your room."
In defeat… he slowly turns back to Bobby sadly. "Mr. Holts… Thank you… for everything. …And am sorry."
Bobby bows to him. "It was quite the adventure, Mr. Plummer."
Peanut turns back to look at his dad but he was looking directly at Bobby instead. Lowering his head… he saunters towards the house and enters it.
Master Plummer stature is 46lbs 3'8 Tall Pomeranian. He stands there in his sleeping night gown giving me the worst death stare I have ever seen in my life. I… am a Bobcat that weighs twice as much and a foot more in height then him …and yet somehow… He terrifies me. Before giving him a chance to even say anything. I go through my pocket and hand him the car keys.
He looks at the keys in his hand and then clears his throat. "Now you explain to me... How are you going to take Shawn to school, with this in my hand?"
I couldn't believe what just came out of his mouth. It's two o'clock in the morning. I'm tired… I'm in pain and I'm about to lose my damn mind with this family. I was about to snap; so I had to ask, "I'm not fired?"
"Of course not; I had to teach my son a lesson somehow." He looks at the front door. "I guess I went a bit too far. But at least I got his honest confession out of him."
I'm going to hurt him, but I'm so tired that my fur doesn't even want to flare up with how mad I am right now. I just stood there and let him talk.
"It wouldn't be right to fire the person who rescued and brought my son back home. So for that… Thank you Mr. Holts. Thank you so much."
He just had to go and say that… but no. I can't accept. "No… You're thanking the wrong person."
"Excuse me? I am?"
Bobby goes through his back pocket and hands over the two pieces of paper. Master Plummer grabs them and puts them together. As he goes through it, reading what's on it… he then looks right back as Bobby explains. "He was at the Fair with Shawn. Shawn wanted to spend the whole day with him. When he got taken… he went through hell looking for him… and he didn't stop until he did. I can't accept all the credit but only a mere fraction of it. It was mostly all him that got Shawn back."
"I see… Ok." He folds the pieces of paper and puts it away. "He will properly be rewarded."
I smile back. "I'd appreciate that."
"So with that… You will be taking a couple of days off. You look like you need it."
I nod. "Thank you sir," I turn and just when I was about to leave…
"Oh, and another thing… Do you happen to need a new Uniform?"
I look back and answer while looking down to myself… "What gave it away?"
Master Plummer laughs and heads back to the house.
Heading back to the car, I look back to the house and see Mr. Plummer standing at his bedroom window, looking out to me. I grab my cap and I tip it to him letting him know that everything's ok.
He waves right back to me smiling.
Seeing him wave back, I get back into the car and drive away.
One Year Later.
An early afternoon with a bright blue sky up above, the Country Music can be heard playing in the distance. The enormous crowd gathers, getting ready to enter the Mercury Town Country Fair. A luxurious Lamborghini pulls up to the Fair Grounds Parking Lot. Out steps Bobby putting on his Chauffeur Cap on. Another door quickly opens as Peanut exits out. "I can open my own door. Remember… you're here to have fun and to enjoy it."
"And that's exactly what I'll be doing." He tosses his cap back into the car along with his Chauffeurs vest. He then looks around. "Is Mr. Fowler here?"
He doesn't answer and just stares at him from the corner of his eye.
He sighs. "Wally… Is he here yet?"
"They should be…" He looks all around. "Said that they'll be here at around twelve."
"Didn't knew you were going blind." Peanut smiles looking to the direction the voice came from. He sees Wally next to his 2-door small blue truck. Molly steps out of it waving at him. "You forgot how the truck looks like?"
"YES! WALLY! Two down… two to go. Have you seen them?"
"No but the Jackass is always late."
Getting suspicious from what he just said, he raises his finger to him. "Wait… you're Chris… not Wally."
"Dammit, am I really that obvious?"
"It's all in the tone. Wally doesn't talk like that." Molly answers.
"Yeah, yeah… but either way. They're late."
Becoming annoyed, "How could they be late?" he points to Mercury Town. "They live right there."
Bobby watches from the car and chuckles seeing Mr. Plummer getting annoyed by Craig being late. He gets ready to enter the car.
"Mr. Holts, where are you going?" hearing Mr. Plummer's voice.
Bobby looks to the left and then to the right. "I don't see your dad here… you know what that means… right?"
Peanut scoffs and mocks back, "Sorry… bad habit. Are you going somewhere?"
"I am going into town to fill up the tank. Need to make sure to have it ready to leave when we're done."
"Alright… But you're here to have fun… Not be on business. You're not a chauffeur today."
"I'll be quick about it, but don't get to far from Mr. Fowler… and…" He sees another car pull up next to Wally's truck. "And Mr. Unknown."
Getting excited, he turns back to Chris seeing him shaking hands with Craig. Eager to go back, he says, "Alright, but hurry back before things get started. You don't want to miss Craig getting sick from a Roller Coaster Ride."
Bobby laughs and starts the car. "I will do my best," then drives off.
Peanut watches him drive away and then heads back to where they are. Approaching them, he hears Craig arguing with Chris. He stands close to Molly and asks, "What are they arguing about?"
"About the games at the fair. Chris betting that he can beat him on all of them."
"Oh… and Liz? Where is she?"
She points to the entrance of the fair. "She went to the entrance to get the bracelets to enter."
Peanut turns to look at the fairs entrance.
"I'll give you three reasons." Craig was getting angry ready to tell him off. "NUMBER ONE! F&%$ YOU!... Number two… I need to know who I'm talking to, so I'd know who to make fun of. AND THREE… Those f&%$ing games are rigged just to make you lose."
Chris holds his hands up to calm him down. "It's ok Craig. It's ok, if you suck at them. You can't be good at everything." He mocks walking away making sure to have the last word.
Craig was trying so hard not to lose his temper, seeing him walk away. He slowly turns to Molly and politely asks while pointing, "Who is it?... Is it Wally or Chris?"
She smiles at him. "It's Chris."
He slowly turns back to him while grinning. "Ohhh. It's on." He walks towards him. "HEY! I KNOW IT'S YOU! GET READY TO GET YOUR ASS KICKED!"
Molly laughs and looks down, but catches Peanut still looking at the entrance of the fair. She slowly puts a hand on his shoulder… causing him to get startled pulling away from it. Getting concerned from his reaction, she asks, "Are you ok?"
Looking up to Molly's eyes, as she looks back down to him… she knew how he felt. Peanut looks back to the Fair's Entrance scared from it. "I-I think this was a big mistake. I'm not ready. I thought I was… but I'm not."
She puts her hand on his shoulder, "I know it's hard… but you can't let fear ruin what you used to enjoy doing."
Peanuts hand was trembling as he reaches to grab her hand.
"We're here for you Peanut, we care about you… and you want to know something else?" She looks to her side. "Those two idiots over there… They care about you the most. The one thing that they don't want to see from you is to be afraid of anything." They both look at Chris and Craig. "So as long as you know, if anyone ever thinks about laying a hand on you ever again… They're going to make them regret it. So… are you ok now?"
"Yeah… I'm ok now," he says feeling more relieved.
Meanwhile, Bobby reaches the same Gas Station again; he slowly steps out looking at how new it was. How everything was up to date and especially the pumps having an ATM on it. Even though everything was new… it still didn't shake the feeling of what he went through last year. He looks over to the store and sees a parked Police Car right next to the entrance. After the car he looks at the Police Department that's next to the Gas Station. He sighs letting out some of the tension. He swipes his card and grabs one of the nozzles and just as he's about to put it into the car…
"Does the MC know that you use the wrong gas?"
Bobby pulls it away and smiles at the familiar voice. He looks and sees Regal standing there without a Police Uniform on and just wearing average normal shirt and jeans. "Good Afternoon, Regal."
"Hey Bobby, you doing alright?"
Bobby shakes his head and puts the gas nozzle back. "I… I could've helped him so much more…" He leans on the car. "but… he made it so difficult 'not' to hate him." He says feeling miserable.
"You… Did… Great. You did… what I couldn't do." He takes a step forward to him and pats him on the shoulder. "You saved him. Out of everyone in that PD, Talbot was the one that needed to be saved the most. Time after time, that I tried… he always either gets killed in some unfortunate way… or he wound up doing it himself. No matter how many times I hit Rewind… Talbot always died in the end."
Hearing his words and trying to make sense of them, he tries not to break into tears in front of him.
"I was about to give up, till I realized what the problem was… It was me. I was the wrong person to do it. I had to take a step back and figure out who 'can' do it. That person wound up being you."
Bobby shakes his head again in regret. "I could've done more. I wish I could've been more reasonable to him… but there's no rewind for me. I could've been nicer to him but I was an asshole to him instead."
"That's exactly what he needed. He needed someone who has a kind heart but also knows when to be strict to set him right." Seeing Bobby getting even more depressed seeing him close his eyes, Regal then sighs. "Dammit… I was so hoping that the ending wasn't going to be predictable."
Bobby opens his eyes and awkwardly looks at him.
Regal then chuckles while crossing his arms. "Do you… remember what he likes to eat?"
Surprised hearing the question, Bobby quickly turns around to the Gas Station Store. Inside of it was Talbot eating pizza in his Police Uniform. He looked… different… happier. He was talking and joking around with the store employee. And the best of all… he had a smile on his face. He turns back to Regal… and he was gone. Feeling relieved and at ease with himself on how things really turned out, he fills up the gas tank and gives Talbot one last look. "I bet your parents are proud of you." He enters the car and drives back to the Country Fair.
