Disclaimer: I do not own Bleach or its characters; that right belongs to Tite Kubo. Nor do I own Inuyasha or its characters; that right belongs to Rumiko Takahashi.
Author's Note: Ages for this are as follows.: Kagome 23, Ishida 17, Ryuken 37. Based on the anime/mangas, their respective data books state, so I know I have messed with the ages when birthdays happen. According to Inuyasha's timeline, Kagome was born in 1983(same for most of the main bleach cast) to be 15 in 1998; thus, Kagome is a few years older than Uryuu, Ichigo, and the others in their little group. This is Fanfiction and written to suit my own needs. You want the purest crap to go elsewhere. So if you do not like that, I politely ask you to turn aroundand leave now because I don't see the point in wasting your time and mine.
It had been a whole week since the truth about Kagome had come out. And the affair had left an odd sour taste in both his and his son's mouths.
Not every day does one meet an iconic figure who helped change the future. But the exchange of information had turned into a Q&A session. One that had him questioning his moral ethics. Because Ryuuken knew he could not deny the draw of having Kagome's (almost) limitless powers and the depth of her abilities.
He'd be tempted to use it to heal patients of their illnesses bordering incurable. Kagome had 'experimented' to know what was and wasn't curable with her Horiki. But it drew unneeded or wanted attention. So she'd started taking free classes and his public lectures and trying to figure out what was what and okay.
Ryuuken now had a better understanding of why Kun-Loon was so damn protective. He had thought that he'd be the same if she were his daughter. But that thought sat wrong. He knew he could never see her as his daughter. Because Kagome was more, she was still a child in his eyes.
And Ryuuken was aware of Uryuu's view of her. However, his stoic son had a stick up his ass right now. Kagome's truth had caused his son to go stiff and distance himself. Ryuuken knew it was a self-defense-coping mechanism. It irritated Ryuuken because it hurt Kagome. Even if she claimed she was okay.
Even when a blind man could see, it was not. But Ryuuken had resolved not to butt into Uryuu's life unless absolutely necessary.
"Director Ishida, your son is here and wants to see you."
Unable to stop himself, Ryuuken smiled and gave the go-ahead to his secretary to send him in. It seemed Uryuu had made up his mind quicker than Ryuuken thought.
When his office door opened all the way, Ryuuken motioned with a hand for Uryuu to enter and sit before him.

Uryuu still felt conflicted as he stared at his father. Who seemed to have found the patience of Buddha himself. But he had come here with a purpose. No, he needed to talk about Kagome. She had, in a sense, kept vital information from them during her stay. Yet, so had he and his father. So, it was almost like a pot calling the kettle black situation.
Uryuu knew having this double standard made him a hypocrite. But at the same time, he was still shocked by the story and truths Kagome had spoken.
It even bothered him that she had been aware of the war and had done nothing to help. However, his father backed Kagome on Miko's neutral stance. She said Urahara could explain how painful her Horiki is to a shinigami. More so since she is a Guardian Miko.
"Father."
"Yes, Uryuu."
"About Miss... No, Lady Kagome."
"What about her, Uryuu?"
Frowning, Uryuu narrowed his eyes at his father. It was apparent he was prompting him. As if trying to lead him. And Uryuu knew his father had already come to his own conclusion. This fact left a bad taste in Uryuu's mouth.
"I still believe Lady Kagome should have helped us during the war. However, I know and understand she was unable to."
When his father said nothing, only continued to stare, Uryuu shifted in his seat. It seemed his father was expecting something specific. Feeling more on edge, Uryuu took a few deep breaths.
"But after giving it some more thought, father, I have come to understand myself better. I like Lady Kagome. And I do not want her to leave any time soon. As she is a joy to have a round."
When he paused, Uryuu felt taken aback by the smile that practically split his father's face. Seeing his father show emotion other than a stoic smile was always unsettling.
"Good. Because I, too, like Miss Higurashi, as well. She brings a bit of light and laughter to our house. But if you, Uryuu, had said you did not want her in the house. Then I'd take her back to Tokyo. She has already talked to me about this. One cannot hide anything emotionally from a Miko of her caliber."
Uryuu felt his jaw drop in shock. He thought he'd done an excellent job hiding his feelings and thoughts. Giving a slight shake of his head, Uryuu tried to compose his thoughts when it dawned on him that his father said Kagome brought light and laughter to their house. His father had been more relaxed and even smiled(though it was creepy, in Uryuu's opinion). Uryuu agreed wholeheartedly. Kagome was a rare person like Orihime that just brightened up the lives of others.
"I want Lady Kagome to stay. I do like her, and apparently, so do you."
His only response was a wider smile and a sharp glint in his father's eyes.
"Then shall we walk to Lady Kagome tonight?"
"Of course, And Uryuu, may the best person fill the role."
Uryuu stared at his father for a few minutes, unsure about those words. But his pride refused to allow him to ask what his father meant. So, he stood, bowed, and left the office swiftly.
