New Perspectives

A week has passed since the Chaldeans solved the latest Singularity, now named the Guda Guda Singularity by Da Vinci, and Chaldea now has more hands on deck than they had in months. While it's been helpful regarding getting some work done, it also sparked a new problem within the organization's halls. There were simply too many Mini-Nobus, and not enough space and jobs. For the latter, that would not be an issue, as the Chaldean Trio, Roman and Davinci were in talks with the first Mini-Nobu the Chaldean Trio met, now calling herself Mini-Nobu #1, wearing a mobster suit, sunglasses, and hat, saying she has a solution for the job problem.

"I'm sorry, but can you run that by me again?" Ritsuka asked. "I don't think I heard you correctly."

"Nobu Nobu, Nobu…..Nobu Nobu Nobu." Mini-Nobu #1 said in a mobster accent.

"What's she saying?" Roman asked.

"She says that the Mini-Nobus want to unionize." Ritsuka answered.

Roman turned to Tatsuko with disbelief in his eyes. The female Master sighed and nodded.

"That's what she said. But why in the hell do they want to unionize?"

"Nobu No. Nobu Nobu Nobu."

"Okay so you just want health benefits." Ritsuka said.

"I still find it weird that they want to unionize." Roman said.

"And I find it weird that I'm the one sitting down with her to go over this." Ritsuka countered.

"Well you, Tatsuko and Mashu are the only ones who can translate for us." Da Vinci countered. "And out of the three of you, you seem to be the best at negotiating."

"You don't know that for certain unless you give them a chance." Ritsuka said.

"Tatsuko would be a good choice, but she doesn't have the same amount of tact you do." Da Vinci said. "And while Mashu is a total sweetheart, she's lacking experience in negotiations."

Mashu looked up from writing on her notepad and nodded. "Davinci is right. I do not know if I would be able to perform well on this as well as you could, Senpai."

"So does this mean I'm the one calling the shots?" Ritsuka asked.

"No, I'm still the one in charge." Roman said. "But you, Da Vinci, Tatsuko, and Mashu will have a say in this decision along with me."

"Nobu Nobu Nobu?" Mini-Nobu #1 asked.

"What did she ask?" Roman asked.

"She was asking if we were done arguing like idiots and made a decision yet." Tatsuko replied.

"Well I'd like to know what you guys think." Roman said.

"I'd say have them unionize." Davinci said.

"I think so as well." Mashu said.

"Yeah, I'd say letting them do this is a good thing." Tatsuko replied. "Besides the fact that Mini-Nobu #1 decided to dress as a mob boss for this makes me want to unionize them."

"I was already on board with the idea." Ritsuka answered. "It's only fair."

Roman chuckled. "Looks like we're all in agreement then. The Mini-Nobu's can unionize."

Mini- Nobu #1 smiled. "Nobu Nobu Nobu!"

"What's she saying?" Davinci asked.

"I believe she is thanking us for agreeing to it." Mashu answered.

"Well it still doesn't answer how this would solve our spacing issue." Ritsuka said.

"Nobu Nobu….Nobu Nobu Nobu."

Ritsuka raised an eyebrow. "Wait, what?"

"What did she say?" Roman asked.

"She said that she'd like to discuss that with you and Da Vinci in private, and in order to get this properly done, she requests that Nobunaga and Okita be brought in to translate for you."

Roman and Da Vinci looked at each other with raised eyebrows. This was certainly a strange request, but it shouldn't hurt. They both shrugged and nodded.

"Okay, how about we call them and you guys just do what you want." Davinci said.

"Well I do have a training session with Artoria in an hour, so this works out perfectly for me." Ritsuka said. "Okay guys, let's get going."

Ritsuka waited for Tatsuko and Mashu to get up and follow him out the door. The moment they heard the door close, they walked in the hallway chatting about what transpired.

"Okay, I can't be the only one who thought that Mini-Nobu #1 dressing up as a mobster was hilarious." Tatsuko said.

"Yeah it definitely was not what I expected." Ritsuka replied. "She definitely had the mannerisms down to a pat."

Mashu raised an eyebrow. "Forgive me if I sound insensitive, Senpai. But did you have any prior experience talking to gang members?"

"Unfortunately yes." Ritsuka answered. "And those times were pretty nasty because of how they treated Doc and me."

Mashu and Tatsuko felt a chill run up their spines. They looked at Ritsuka with concern written on their faces.

"What did they do?" Tatsuko asked.

"Nothing physical. One of the few unspoken rules in that area was to never attack or harm a doctor, because your life could be in their hands." Ritsuka answered. "But that doesn't stop them from insulting them or belittling them. And when it came to doctors, she was treated the worst."

"Why the fuck would they do that?" Tatsuko asked. "She would save their hides, and they refuse to be grateful?"

Ritsuka stopped in his tracks. The two girls stopped in theirs as well, and looked at him curiously. The black haired teen took a deep breath and looked at Mashu gently. "Hey, Mashu, how about you go on ahead? I want to talk to Tatsuko in private."

Mashu nodded, and walked away. The moment she turned the corner, Ritsuka turned to Tatsuko with a calm expression.

"Can I be honest with you?" He asked.

Tatsuko nodded. "Did I do something wrong?"

"No nothing of the sort." Ritsuka answered. "It's just…I'd rather not talk about my past so much. Especially in front of Mashu."

Tatsuko raised an eyebrow. "You already shared a lot of it already, and most of it was pretty bad. Hell you even shared with us the most traumatizing experience of your life. So why the sudden change?"

Ritsuka took a deep breath. "Nothing changed. I only shared that part because I felt the context was necessary, nothing more."

"Does that mean that you don't trust us?" Tatsuko asked.

Ritsuka put his hands up in reassurance. "I do trust you. But I don't want my past to be all that defines me in everyone's eyes."

"That's fair." Tatsuko said. "But if it's okay with you, can you at least tell me why you and Doctor Williams were treated horribly by those guys? I know you don't like talking about this, but I just want to know what could possibly drive them to act like that."

"Racism." Ritsuka answered. "I did tell you before that the people in that district weren't fond of outsiders. But they were especially nasty to foreigners of a different country."

Tatsuko's eyes widened in horror. "Oh no….so the reason they were also mean to you was….."

Ritsuka nodded. "I was associated with her, and therefore in their eyes, I was considered just as much an outsider, despite having been born there."

Tatsuko clenched her fists tightly, causing her arms to shake. "I can't believe everyone would treat you guys so horribly just because of that. They'd pay you to help them, and they would treat you like garbage?"

"Actually, they would barely pay her at all…."

Tatsuko gasped. "So she didn't even get paid at all?!"

"Oh she got paid." Ritsuka said. "Just not enough for the specific treatments they needed."

"So they'd stiff her the bill?"

Ritsuka nodded. Tatsuko clicked her tongue in anger. "No wonder you don't want to talk about this much….It's as if there were only bad memories."

Ritsuka smiled. "Then allow me to correct you on a couple of things."

Tatsuko raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"First, not everyone was cruel to us." Ritsuka. "Second, I'd rather not talk about the bad parts of my childhood, because that means I don't get to focus on the good parts."

"Wait, what do you mean by the first part?" Tatsuko asked. "You just said that both of you were treated like outcasts by the people in your part of town."

"Not exactly accurate." Ritsuka said. "There was one specific group of people that were always appreciative of Doc, and were always nice to the two of us; the prostitutes."

Tatsuko stared at him in confusion. "Really?"

Ritsuka nodded. "Most of them anyway. I don't know why, but they always treated us kindly, and Doc was always sweet and caring towards them. In fact, I'd say that the prostitutes were protective of the two of us, and Doc was especially protective of their well-being. And I am too, so I will not tolerate anyone mocking them."

"Whoa, whoa, slow down there." Tatsuko said. "I would never do that. But I do find it odd that they would be nice to the two of you, and still not pay Doctor Williams for her help."

"Who says they were being charged at all?" Ritsuka asked.

Tatsuko's eyes widened. "Wait, are you saying Doctor Williams would treat them free of charge?!"

Ritsuka nodded, "They were the only ones she did that for. Charging them money didn't feel right, so helping them for free was Doc's way to not only show her appreciation for their kindness, but also to make their lives a little easier."

Tatsuko smiled at the comment. "That's very sweet."

"Told you not everything in my childhood was doom and gloom." Ritsuka said.

"You were right." Tatsuko said with a giggle. "Maybe you could tell me about the good memories now?"

Ritsuka smiled, only to look at his watch and sighed. "Sorry, but now's not a good time for that. I have to get ready for Artoria's lessons today."

"Oh shit you're right." Tatsuko said. "Okay, how about you tell me about it some other time, along with Mashu. I know for a fact she would be happy if you told her too."

Ritsuka smiled brightly. "Yeah, I really like that idea."

"Sounds like a plan!" Tatsuko said. "Okay, I'll see you later."

Ritsuka nodded and ran through the hallway towards the gymnasium. Tatsuko took a deep breath, exhaled sharply and walked back towards where she came. Unbeknownst to her or Ritsuka, a certain lilac haired girl did not really walk away, and hid behind the corner of the hall to listen in. Mashu held the notepad tightly against her chest. She couldn't help but feel conflicted over what she just heard. She was happy that some people were kind to her senpai and his caretaker, but it broke her heart to hear how cruel everyone else treated them. The Shielder sighed, and walked away to clear her head.

A couple of hours after the Chaldean Trio left the room, the negotiations with Mini-Nobu #1 ended, and Nobunaga, Roman and Davinci left the room, walking together to discuss what happened.

"Are you sure the Mini-Nobus will be able to do this?" Roman asked.

"Don't worry so much." Nobunaga said. "It'll make you look like a coward."

"Oh, that's what Roman is like regularly." Da Vinci said.

"Hey, don't give Nobunaga the wrong impression of me!" Roman exclaimed.

Nobunaga laughed. "Just call me Nobu."

Roman raised an eyebrow. "Okay, but why?"

"I just prefer to keep things casual." Nobunaga said. "Besides, it's not like any of my relatives will be coming here anytime soon, so it'll be easy!"

"Well it certainly sounds cute." Roman replied.

"Roman, you shouldn't say such things." Da Vinci said. "You're leading Chaldea now, so you need to be a little more tactful when talking to women like this."

Nobu chuckled. "Sounds like someone's whipped!"

"I am not!" Roman countered.

Da Vinci chuckled at the remark. Nobu looked at the Caster and grinned. "If it's the same with you guys, I need to go. I have to get to the Cafeteria before Artoria steals it all!"

And with that final comment, the black haired Servant left the acting director and the Caster all alone. Roman sighed in relief as he scratched the back of his head. "Well that went well."

"Indeed, and you didn't even have to do any of the diplomacy." Da Vinci said.

"Well it's not like I can understand what these guys are saying." Roman countered. "It took the kids a couple of days to fully understand them, so please give me a break."

Da Vinci grinned. "If they could learn a new language in a few days, then what does that say about our illustrious acting director, hmmmm?"

"Please don't call me that." Roman said calmly.

"But that's what you are now." Da Vinci countered. "You need to accept it."

Roman sighed. "I know, I know. But I just don't think I'm cut out for this."

Da Vinci put a hand on his shoulder. "And that's why you have me here to back you up. I'd rather be in my workshop coming up with some new inventions, but I know that it won't help anyone if I do that. So let's try and work together and make sure everyone can feel safe here."

Roman stared at the Caster for a few moments, and sighed. "How is it that you always know what to say?"

"~Because I'm a genius~!" Da Vinci said with a wink.

Roman chuckled. "You definitely are."

"~Yes, yes, keep praising me~." Da Vinci said.

"As if I could find any more words that could do you justice."

"~Oh I don't know, I can think of other ways other than words~." Da Vinvci said with a wink.

Roman snapped his fingers in an epiphany. "Maybe you could show me what you've been making in the workshop! You always love talking about your latest projects."

Da Vinci looked at the acting director with a blank stare and a weak smile. This wasn't what she had in mind, but this could also work. "Sure thing….."

"Lead the way then." Roman said playfully. Da Vinci smiled and walked alongside him towards the workshop.

Meanwhile, Tatsuko walked through the halls in a daze. The female Master couldn't help but think back to Ritsuka's request, and sighed. If he didn't want to talk about it more, then that would be that. Then again, she could understand his reasoning, it wasn't like she didn't have things she'd rather keep to herself….

Her thoughts were scattered when she turned the corner, and widened her eyes as she saw two men breaking away from their kiss, and looking at her with slight surprise.

"Oh I'm so sorry!" She shouted. "I didn't mean to interrupt."

"Oh don't worry about it." One of the men said. "We were just startled."

Tatsuko looked at the men intently as if studying them. Both were tall, handsome young men in their thirties. One had black hair, light blue eyes, and a playful air about him. The other had blonde hair and hazel eyes, but had a more serious look to him. Tatsuko looked at the black haired man and tilted her head. He was wearing the standard Chaldean uniform for those working in the Command Room, a shirt with long black sleeves with a large orange stripe running down the center and orange around the cuffs of the sleeves.

"I think I saw you in the Command Room before, or am I mistaken?" She asked.

The black haired man chuckled. "No, you're right on the money."

"Oh, okay. I'm sorry for not remembering." Tatsuko said. "So how about I fix that mistake and ask your name."

"The name's Eric Richards. I work as one of the Rayshift analysts."

"Oh so you're one of the ones that makes sure that we all don't go poof in a Singularity. Now I REALLY feel bad." Tatsuko said jokingly.

Eric laughed. "Well now you can remember who's making sure you guys get back home."

"I will." Tatsuko said with a snort. She looked at the blonde man with curiosity. He was powerfully built, as if he was a brick wall. He wore all black with white highlights on his shirt and pants, and what looked like an earpiece in his left ear. He carried two pistols, one holstered on each hip. "And you are?"

"Henry Maxwell. I'm the new chief of security." The man said.

"How long have you held the title?" Tatsuko asked.

"Since the last one died in the explosion a couple of months ago." Henry answered.

"Sooooo….how did you two meet?"

"Oh, we met a couple of years ago when we first started working here." Eric said. "We talked to each other after our orientation and, well, one could say we immediately became attracted to each other and after a couple of our friends convinced us to give it a shot, we decided to go out after a few weeks."

"I hope no one's been giving you any shit for that." Tatsuko said. "As a gay woman, I really don't like it when my fellow comrades in arms suffer that sort of thing."

Henry chuckled. "Don't worry, everyone's been pretty relaxed about it. Sure we had some people raise eyebrows in the past, but that was about it."

"Well at least it stopped, right?"

"Yeah, besides Chaldea has a lot more to deal with now." Eric said.

"Good to hear. So where are you guys from anyway?"

"America." Eric answered. "Florida if you'd like to know the state."

"Okay, so you're crazy then." Tatsuko said jokingly.

Eric laughed. "That's Florida for you!"

Tatsuko giggled. "And how about you Henry?"

"I'm actually from London." The security chief answered.

"Huh, so I guess you and Ritsuka talk on occasion." Tatsuko said. "You know, with Doctor Williams being British and all."

"We actually do." Henry answered. "I know some things about his childhood, like you do. But I make it a point to give him his space and not ask too much."

"Yeah, he and I had a talk about that, and we're not going to be talking about it much unless he decides it's necessary." Tatsuko said.

"Well it's only natural he'd be reluctant to share." Eric replied. "The kid had it rough, and isn't used to people being nice to him. It's going to take quite a bit of time for Ritsuka to come out of his shell."

"How can you tell?" Tatsuko asked.

"Simple, Henry here used to be a cop before joining Chaldea. And he told me he's seen cases like Ritsuka's before."

Tatsuko looked at the blonde security guard with slight surprise. "You used to be a police officer?"

"That was how I was scouted by Chaldea." Henry answered. "And Eric tells the truth, I've seen some traumatized children in my line of work, and Ritsuka's case doesn't even come close to top ten for me."

A chill ran up Tatsuko's spine. She couldn't wrap her head around hearing that. To think that there could have been worse cases than Ritsuka's…..The female Master shook her head and tried to find a way to bury those thoughts, when an idea came to mind.

"I'm going to be honest, I find it quite ironic that a kid from a seedy criminal hotbed is more than willing to talk to a cop." Tatsuko said jokingly.

Henry laughed. "It's funny that you should mention that. When we first spoke to each other, he immediately pegged me as a former cop."

"Well that's not surprising." Tatsuko said. The female Master gasped and smacked her forehead. "Sorry, but I have to get going. It was nice meeting you guys, I hope we can chat later!"

Tatsuko ran off at full speed passed them, the three of them waving their goodbyes. The moment she was out of eyesight the two men looked at each other lovingly.

"So, where were we?" Eric asked flirtatiously.

Henry grinned. "Oh, I don't know, maybe you could remind me?"

Eric chuckled as he and Henry leaned in and resumed their kiss.

Okita watched as Ritsuka panted heavily. The male Master swung at Artoria with his practice sword, but the Saber dodged the strike with ease, and smacked his back with her wooden sword. Artoria raised her practice weapon and mounted an offensive upon the male Master, who ducked the first strike, had to sidestep quickly to miss the second, only for him to gasp as Artoria brought her wooden sword overhead to hit his head.

SMACK!

Okita smiled as she watched Ritsuka stop the strike with his own weapon. The male Master smiled as well at the sight before him.

"Hey, I actually blocked it this time!" He shouted.

Artoria grinned. "You've definitely improved, but don't get overconfident. You should also be paying attention to your surroundings."

Ritsuka stared at her in confusion, only for his eyes to widen as Artoria used her front leg to sweep his legs from under him, making him fall flat on his back. The male Master groaned in discomfort as Artoria pointed her wooden sword to his face with a stern look. "I believe this is where you yield."

Ritsuka grinned. "Don't count me out just yet."

Artoria raised an eyebrow at the statement, only for her eyes to widen as Ritsuka quickly smacked her practice sword out of his face and made an attempt to strike her legs. An attempt that Artoria quickly foiled. The blonde Saber quickly mounted a counter offensive, and swung her practice weapon at Ritsuka, who blocked the strike at the last second.

Okita continued to watch with renewed interest. She knew that the male Master had a hidden iron will within him, but she never thought he would be so bold to mount that surprise attack. The Saber grinned as she thought about it some more. She now realized she misjudged Ritsuka's hidden resolve.

Meanwhile, Ritsuka did everything in his power to continue defending himself against Artoria's onslaught of attacks. The male Master was grateful she was holding back for his sake, otherwise he'd have to worry about his bones getting broken every time he blocked. The black haired teen was brought out of this stupor as he started to pant heavily once more. Artoria noticed this and immediately knew he was losing steam. The Saber renewed her offensive, intending to finish this quickly so as to make sure the male Master got some rest. Artoria swung her practice sword at Ritsuka, who moved to block it, but the moment both weapons connected, Artoria shifted her weight and manipulated her weapon in a circular motion. In that brief moment, Ritsuka was disarmed, his practice sword flew out of his hands.

Artoria pointed her practice sword at Ritsuka as the male Master's own practice weapon hit the ground.

Ritsuka put his hands up in surrender and smiled. "Okay, NOW I yield."

Artoria smiled back at him and lowered her practice sword. "What you did there wasn't honorable, but it was certainly interesting. But now I'm left wondering why you waited until now to do that when you could have done that the entire time."

"I never really considered it back then." Ritsuka answered.

"Well I was impressed by your resourcefulness there." Okita said as she got up and walked to them. The British Saber and Ritsuka turned to face her as she smiled at them.

"So, now that you had a chance to finally see him train, what do you think of our sessions?" Artoria asked.

Okita rubbed her chin in deep thought as she thought back to the sparring match. "If this was a real fight, he'd lose pretty badly. To begin, while his grip is good, and his swings are decent, his stance was almost non-existent. It leaves him too open and exposed. Then there is his footwork. His feet weren't spread out evenly, and it surprises me that he never tripped once during your spar."

"If I may make a correction?" Ritsuka asked.

Okita nodded. "Sure thing."

"Artoria knows of these problems already." Ritsuka continued. "I'm still new to this whole thing, and she's been making sure to try and correct whatever mistakes I make."

"Good, then it seems the issue is more on inexperience." Okita replied. She then turned to Artoria, and blushed. "I'm sorry if I'm overstepping my bounds as an observer."

Artoria smiled and shook her head. "No need to apologize. In fact, maybe you could give a few ideas on how to better train him?"

Okita thought to herself for a moment before returning her gaze to the male Master and the British Saber. "I'd suggest that before sparring, you try using training dummies first in order to help Ritsuka improve his footwork and stance. Once that is done, then maybe do a sparring match afterward to see if the lessons stuck. And when he's advanced enough, then maybe try using the simulator to fight simulated soldiers."

Artoria nodded. "Thank you Okita, I will make sure to implement these into his training regimen."

Ritsuka said nothing, but his face froze in slight discomfort at the suggestion of using the simulator.

"I think we can call it a day." Artoria said. Ritsuka snapped back to attention as the Saber turned to face him with a smile. "Get some rest, and enjoy the rest of your day."

Ritsuka nodded. "Okay, so same time tomorrow?"

"Same time tomorrow." Artoria answered. "Now, I think it is time I head to the cafeteria. I have worked up quite the appetite and there is only one cook here that can sate that."

Ritsuka gulped as Artoria headed out the door of the training hall. Poor Emiya is going to need to empty the entire kitchen now….

"Oh, Artoria, wait for me!" Okita shouted. The samurai rushed to the door to catch up to the King of Knights, leaving Ritsuka all alone. The male Master exhaled sharply as he put away the practice weapons and took a drink of water to hydrate himself. A few minutes later, he walked out of the training hall and towards the library. That was, until he almost walked right into Mashu.

"Oh, Senpai! I am so sorry. I should have watched where I was going!" The Shielder shouted.

"No, no, it was my fault!" Ritsuka countered.

An awkward silence filled the air as the two of them stared at one another with small blushes on their faces. The male Master decided to break the silence, and cleared his throat. "What a strange day we had, wouldn't you say?"

"Oh, umm…y-yes, it certainly has been a little weird." Mashu said. "Speaking of which, what do you think the Mini-Nobus have planned?"

"I don't know." Ritsuka said. "It would seem that whatever it is, they'd like to leave it as a surprise."

"Are you sure?"

Ritsuka nodded. "I've had years of experience in watching people's mannerisms, how they move, and how they act. It helps me provide proper treatment for them by doing that."

"That is amazing!" Mashu exclaimed.

"I wouldn't go that far….." Ritsuka muttered. "Doc was so much better at that than I was."

Mashu's eyes widened as she saw the discomfort on his face. "Are you okay, Senpai?"

Ritsuka took a deep breath. "To be perfectly honest? No, I'm not okay. I'm still getting used to…. All this. Just seeing people working together, helping each other without a hint of suspicion, any ulterior motives. I've only seen Doc do this type of thing, and yet it feels…nice, seeing it happen here."

Mashu could only smile at that last statement. Ritsuka then gasped and sighed. "Oh, I need to get going. I was planning on going to the library, and see what I could learn about any potential Singularity locations."

"Actually…..I found another Mecha anime that looked interesting." Mashu said. "Maybe…we could watch it together and have the day off instead?"

Ritsuka smiled and nodded. "I won't say no to that."

"Okay, then let us go to my room, and I will start it up."

Ritsuka playfully gave a small bow. "Lead the way then."

Mashu giggled at the gesture as she and Ritsuka walked towards her room for their day off.

OC: Okay, wow, that was….pretty heavy compared to what we usually write.

CV: This chapter really went through different moods in every scene.

OC: I'll say. I'm going to be perfectly honest, when we first started the first scene I wasn't intending for us to write more about Ritsuka's past, but somehow we decided to go ahead with it, and it not only shows that not only did HE suffer from his environment, but Hannah also had to contend with that shit as well.

CV: You can thank me for that. You know that I love my favorite fictional characters going through massive amounts of trauma.

OC: That is true, but that is also why we decided to sprinkle in a part of his childhood where he reveals that there were some people that truly appreciated them and cared for them. And for Ritsuka to reveal that the prostitutes of his district and Hannah had a relationship based on loyalty and care for one another, and how protective he is of them just shows where he got his good nature from.

CV: They say that the mom is where most of our personality is, and that's right for Ritsuka.

OC: Interesting phrase. But let's see if Ritsuka would agree on that part. He seems conflicted on just what she was to him, aside from the woman who made sure he had a roof over his head lol. But regarding his past, Vlad and I had a discussion months ago, and now it is something we will finally implement. Whenever we decide to write about some dark and disturbing subjects in our chapters, we will be giving a disclaimer warning at the beginning of said chapters so that we give you guys plenty of warning if you get uncomfortable with the subject matter. Now with that out of the way, how about we go into parts of the chapter that stood out to us. So Vlad, which part of the chapter did you like the most?

CV: Ritsuka's training with Artoria. I always like scenes like that because they're a good way of showing character growth.

OC: I will admit I do find that an interesting part. Mine is kinda interesting where it's kinda a tie. We have the talk between Mini-Nobu #1 and the Chaldeans. Mainly because the fact I told you that more as a joke the day we wrote the scene, and then we actually went along with it, and the talk between Ritsuka and Tatsuko where he tells her that there really was a bright spot in his childhood. For someone who went through so much shit, seeing him say he won't tolerate anyone badmouthing prostitutes really shows that despite his kind demeanor, he is not afraid to get assertive when necessary.

CV: It's a pretty good scene, delving more and more into his past.

OC: And we also get more background into Chaldea and its staff. For instance the introduction to the new OC characters Eric and Henry. I just remember writing a rough draft scene where they showed up at the end and that would be it for them, but after writing it, I took a liking to the couple and thought "Hey, why don't we actually make them characters that show up every now and then?" It also gives us some interesting dynamics because it will make Chaldea seem more alive and like an actual organization with people everywhere, instead of it feeling like it's just the Servants and the Master.

CV: Makes sense in game though, since they're the only important characters, and I doubt DW would make sprites for all of them. They could barely do Meneurie and Silvie for Arcs 1.5 and 2.

OC: That is true. Though for eagle eyed readers, if you all think Eric looks similar to a certain Disney Prince, there is a reason, and you will ALL find out why we chose that for America ;).

CV: So look forward to that in next year or so!

OC: God I hope we get there next year. I don't think we could drag this Arc out for two lol.

CV: We'll make it, probably.

OC: You know whenever someone says that, it usually means the opposite…..

CV: I mean, we're on a good track right now, it all depends on how long we make Septem, Okeanos and London.

OC: That is true. Honestly I can't wait to tackle those Singularities, especially Okeanos and London.

CV: I'm waiting for Septem. I love what we have planned for it.

OC: Oh I know.

CV: Alright, that's all from us dear readers, we hope you enjoyed this chapter. Tune in next week for more chronicles in Chaldea.
