Questions and Answers

(Questions and Answers are questions taken from reviews, or the discord; and answered here)

1 Will Ainz learn the magic of this place or will he gain a new ability? Or you just don't need it

- Keep reading the story and you'll see, I have some pretty good plans coming up!

2 Well you know that when ainz use a body to summon an undead they Will be permament. I think you should do so next Chapter and that Will help him alot keep Nazarick safe during his absence.

(No idea if this was a question but I'll answer it anyways)

- Ainz doesn't know that summons from corpses are permanent yet, as in light novel 1 of Ovelord; he only figured out summons from corpses were permament after/during the attack of the village.

Yggdrasil Dungeon Master

- Chapter 5 -

The night glitters with beautiful stars in various colors, green, red, blue, and yellow, and the beautiful silver moon shone down a radiant light upon Momonga, amplifying his robe's beauty. He then looked around, viewing the sky, the trees, and all the pure nature before him.

'This world is lovely, the smells, the scenery, it's overwhelming; it makes me think how my world could've been, and honestly makes me feel like I don't want to go back. The only downside is that my guildmates aren't alongside me to enjoy this world with me. But that makes me think, how would we explore this world if we were all together?'

Momonga looked to his right; a vast pond stood before him. The moon reflected on the surface, and fish could be seen swimming just under the surface of the water. At that moment, a flash of light rang out in Momonga's mind. It was as if he was playing back memorize, all his guildmates together, laughing, playing, and having a fun time all around.

'How I miss those days... maybe, just maybe.'

Momonga reached out toward the glittering lake.

'Those days may return.'

He put his hand back down as the memories stopped playing in his head. He looked toward the citadel of Alessa not far as it rested upon a hill.

'Time to go; I don't want to keep Claire waiting for me forever. When I get into the city and meet up with Claire, I should probably check out the local market; see if there's anything piques my interest.'

Momonga walked toward the citadel of Alessa, the trees passing him as he slowly made his way through the forest. Even though he couldn't fly due to him not wanting to be caught out in the open by a player, he still arrived in mere minutes; the guards that stopped him earlier; let him through almost immediately due to him having an adventurer's ID.

'Now, let's see, where is Claire?'

Momonga walked toward the fountain at the center of Alessa. He looked around, noticing that Claire was nowhere in sight; this agitated him a tiny bit.

'Ugh, she's not here, but that's mostly my fault. I did keep her waiting for a few extra hours. After that, she most likely went into a local inn to sleep for the night.

Momonga looked around himself, searching for a local, and spotted one.

"Fairy Moon's Inn? That sounds like a place she would go." Momonga said as he walked toward the door. Then, however, he was caught off guard by a particular detail; there was a specific blue beret stomped up sitting on the outside of an alleyway.

"Claire?" Momonga said out loud, wasting no time at all. He walked toward the beret and picked it up.

'Why would she drop this? No, she wouldn't; something else happened.'

Momonga peered his eye's down into the alleyway and saw three bandits. They were rugged and armed to the teeth; however, it seemed like they were cleaning up excess blood and body parts.

'It seems that I have my answer.'

Momonga walked down the alleyway; his robes flowed in the slight breeze, the air suddenly cold as if death had approached.

The bandits turned to Momonga, fear in their eyes as they saw his silhouette in the shadow of darkness. All three of them pulled their swords, but the shakiness in their hands told only one thing; they knew they were going to die here, and they could feel it.

"Don't come any closer!" One of the bandits yelled, his hand shaking as Momonga approached. He then got to a point where he swung at Momonga with all his might, but it didn't take long until his sword suddenly stopped. As he looked up, his sword was caught by Momonga, but then it suddenly shattered due to Momonga's sheer strength.

"WHAT?!" The bandit screamed out as the tiny pieces of steel fell to the ground.

Momonga looked at the three bandits. His red eye's pierced into their very souls as they fell into dread.

"What happened to Claire?" Momonga said, sheer authority in his voice echoing down the entire alleyway.

"W-who!?" One of the bandits said, stuttering in his words as he looked straight at death.

"The elf, what happened to her!" Momonga said, his patience waned.

Two bandits then ran as if they were trying to keep a secret.

'So you think you can run away from this? Well, I have a surprise for you.'

"[Chain Dragon Lightning]" Momonga summoned a dragon made out of lightning with just a few words. It shot forth at the two running bandits striking them. They screamed and shook in pain as their bodies were cooked inside out.

Momonga then steered back at the last remaining bandit; the bandit's legs were shaking as he collapsed onto the ground before Momonga.

"Please! Please don't kill me! I have a family!" The bandit said, almost screaming at Momonga to spare his pathetic life.

Momonga did not even kneel to get his word across.

"I'll ask one more time, what did they do with her, and where is she?" Momonga asked.

The bandits seemed to get more scared, as if he was afraid to tell Momonga due to the people in charge.

"I don't know!" The bandit said, obviously lying.

"You don't do you... alright then, I'll help you remember." Momonga said as he grabbed the man's hand. He broke one finger at a time, slowly so that the man could feel his bones breaking; he then healed him and broke them all at once; the bandit screamed out for help... but no one came.

"One... last... time, where did they take her?" Momonga said.

"They took her underground! If you go to the town center, there's this building with a red flag outside; open the door, and there's a flight of stairs downward!" The bandit said. Momonga then let go of him and started to walk away. The look on the bandit's face was nothing but relief. But then... his entire body went on fire, his skin boiled, his screams muffled by magic; as he slowly turned into ash. The red and orange flames illuminated the surrounding walls and gave Momonga's silhouette an orange and red haze as he walked toward the building.

Claire's eyes slowly opened to being inside a barred cage. Five large boxes stood outside her cell and a table with a singular chair; a man, presumably a bandit, sat there though he was fast asleep.

'Where am I?'

Claire thought about her surroundings, confused about why she found herself in such an odd place. However, it didn't take her even a minute to remember what had happened in the alleyway.

'That's right! I heard a scream, so I rushed into the alleyway; there were women and children in a barred cage, enslaved people, I presumed. But then... the bandits guarding the carriage surrounded me, and I had to fight, though I lost pretty hard.'

Suddenly, a creaking sound came from a town in the left hallway though Claire couldn't see this hallway since it was angled. Footsteps then began to echo down the hallway. Claire took the time to calculate how many people; her best guess was five. Out of the angled hallway came four rugged men; they all seemed to wear the same uniform as if they were guards; then, a man came into view. His clothing was neater than the others; he had black hair and black eyes. His skin was tan; he wore a brown leather coat and black pants, and a ring was on his left finger though it wasn't a ring for marriage, more like a magical item. He approached the cell with a slight smirk; he also kneeled to Claire's height and began talking to her.

"So, you're the fine new catch my men brought down here. I'd say; you are a mighty fine specimen. Maybe I'll take you for myself." The man said, slightly laughing though he wasn't funny.

'Looking at his clothes, it's nicer than the rest. Could he possibly be the leader?'

The man took a heavy breath; he looked Claire up and down as he admired her.

"Hm..." The man said as he got back up.

"I'm Marcus, but you'll call me Master from now on. Do you get that?" Marcus said.

'Master? Does he think I'll call him a name such as that?'

"No, I'll call you something else... hmm, let's see! I believe mentally ill match you quite well." Claire said. However, this angered Marcus, and they ordered the guards to drag her out of the cell, which they did.

"What are you-" Claire tried to speak. But she felt a sudden pain in her stomach as he started kicking her over and over again. She tried to breathe, but as she got a breath in, another hard kick came flying into her stomach.

"You little bitch! I said call me Master! Nothing else!" Marcus screamed at her, trying to get his point across.

"Yo- You are nothing more than a child in a man's body!" Claire screamed out. But this made her situation much worse, as Marcus stopped kicking and kneeled to whisper in her ear.

"I didn't want to do this, but if you want to, as I say, I think... a little... shock therapy might just convince you," Marcus said as he ordered the guards to take her to the torture room.

'S-shock therapy? What does he mean by that!?'

"Wait! no!" Claire said out loud, attempting to stop them. But the guards took her by the feet and dragged her to the torture room. They slide the door open; and lift her, locking her into place into a contraption. Marcus then walked into the room, smiling as he was ready to start.

"Since you don't want to follow orders, we'll have to train you through conventional means. Magic crystals power the gimmick you are locked into place now; it uses lightning magic. So you can guess where we are going now." Marcus said as he grabbed a portable button.

"W-wait, I'll follow-" Claire tried to convince them to get her out of the contraption. But electricity shocked the entire room; Claire's screams echoed down the endless hallways.

"Let the training begin!" Marcus said, laughing in pure insanity.

A cup slammed down upon a table, and multiple bandits were playing cards or betting on games in a single room. However, a man about 17 years old sits at a table; he wears padded leather armor, long brown sleeves, and a tailored coat. In addition, he has long dark brown pants and dirty shoes; this man's name is Aurelius. In front of him sits a woman near the age of 19 who does not quite know exactly what her age is. She has long brown hair and blue eyes like the morning sky. She wore a jacket with large buttons lining up the center, her chest so tightly packed that the top three buttons were struggling to stay in as if they were going to break at any moment. She also wore mini-shorts; and had high heels on, though they were still high heels fit for combat, her name is Alen.

"Hey, Alen... Have you heard about the dungeon outside of Alessa?" Aurelius asked.

"Yeah, I have. But then again, everyone has." Alen said.

Aurelius leaned back into his chair, not to the point that it tipped.

"Well, I was thinking... I don't see us doing this line of work for much longer; plus, it would be better to become adventurous with our skill sets. But, also, I would rather not see my little sister's reaction to her big brother being a bandit." Aurelius said, both disappointed in himself and worried about his sister.

Alen tilted her head to the left as if she was in thought.

"Well, yeah, I guess you are right. This place will only last so long; we should probably get out while we still can. But there's a problem, and when we sign up, we will have to start at D Rank, meaning we won't earn as much money. But then again, we could kill some monsters, sell their hide, or whatever useful thing they have on them." Alen said both were worried about their future and optimistic simultaneously.

Aurelius let out a heavy sigh.

"Yeah, that's the only problem earning enough money to feed my entire family. I'm the only one who can work since you know my mother is too sick to get up anymore." Aurelius said as he took a sip of ale.

"I'm sorry for your mother, but that's how the world works; it takes a while for true success, unfortunately," Alen replied.

Aurelius put down the cup of ale back onto the table.

"Yeah, it sucks; I want my little sister to see me in a better light before she sees me in this line of work. But it'll ruin her view of me, and I don't want that; it wouldn't be good for either of us. We are already living on the edge of our teeth." Aurelius said.

"I get that, but if you want to get out of this line of work, I'll go with you. However, you must remember that getting started will take a good bit." Alen replied.

Suddenly, out of the blue, a large crash wrangled throughout the room from the door leading upstairs. Everyone in the room pulled their swords, expecting someone to enter.

"The hell is going on?" Aurelius said.

But as he just got up from his seat, a body flew into the room, crashing through the door. The very body landed on a nearby table, missing its legs and arms; however, his head was still there but looked diseased. Everyone then looked back to the door, prepared for whatever came. However... no one knew the true terror they were about to face.

"[Grasp Heart," An unknown entity said as a man closest to the door fell to his knees, his mouth bubbling with saliva.

'What the hell?'

"Alen, did you see that? He died without touching him, I didn't see any magic, but I did hear an incantation." Aurelius said.

"Yeah! I'm a little shocked but let's try to fight whatever this is." Alan said, but she could tell with the shake of her legs that this force, this entity, that was up those stairs was something unrivaled.

But then, footsteps could be heard coming down the stairs. Everyone looked into the darkness that was the opening, and then they saw its bright red eyes glowing in the darkness.

"[Triplet Maximize Magic: Burning Lance," The unknown entity said as three burning lances shot forth. Killing a handful of bandits, they dropped to the ground dead, the smoke of their bodies burning rising to the ceiling and the smell of their corpses spreading through the area, making some bandits almost puke.

"Firebolt!" Alen cast a quick spell, and a bolt of fire shot forward. It hit the full entity force. However, it didn't damage as it was entirely blocked by what they thought was a magic shield.

The unknown figure walked into the room, wearing beautiful robes, a massive gauntlet, and a demon face with a grin.

"Shit... this isn't good," Aurelius said.

'This guy is something else; I can tell all my instincts are telling me to run as fast as possible and not to look back. But can I even run? And what about Alen?'

"We should run..." Alen said, but her legs wouldn't move.

"I don't think he will even allow us to. So all we can do is fight back the best we can and hope we win." Aurelius said as he prepared for the fight ahead.

"[Triplet Magic: Shock Lance]" Momonga cast a spell, and Aurelius and Alen took the opportunity to move in that moment.

"[Fireball]" Alen summoned a fireball. Again, it shot forth with great speed; however, it was blocked by what they believed to be a magic shield.

Three lightning lances formed, shooting forth, killing a few more bandits that attempted to strike at this unknown figure.

'Let's see... where can I strike him from.'

Aurelius circled the man, trying to find an opening, and eventually, he did. With one quick move, he struck at the unknown figure with his sword. However, it did no damage; it was as if he wore armor under his robes.

The fight continued for another three minutes until only Aurelius and Alen were left standing. However, they were majorly exhausted after all that fighting.

'Even after three straight minutes of hitting him with everyone we have, he doesn't have a scratch on him... what the living fuck is he.'

"Alen, do you have any more mana reserves?" Aurelius asked.

Alen looked back at Aurelius, her eyes saying it all.

"Ok then..." Aurelius said.

The unknown entity then started to speak.

"I admire both of you for lasting so long. So, I'll reward you, and I am Momonga, the supreme being of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. But don't be mistaken, the only reason I'm telling you my name. Is it because you won't be walking out of here alive." Momonga said, confident in his voice.

'Momonga? I've never heard that name in any books or list of the strongest people in the world. This man shouldn't even exist, so why is he here? Ugh! No matter; I can't think about that right now. I have to think of a way out; if I die here, my little sister will die of hunger or become a slave.'

"Sir. Momonga, indulge me for a second; but why are you attacking us?" Aurelius asked.

"It's a simple reason, and your leader stole something important to me. So he stalled my plans," Momonga replied with slight bits of anger in his voice, though a green aura calmed him back down.

'God fucking damnit Marcus, you always get us into deep crap.'

Momonga started moving forward, and Alan and Aurelius responded by moving to his sides. But... something happened that shocked Aurelius to his core.

"[Death]" Suddenly, Alen collapsed to the floor, dead in a heartbeat.

"WHAT!?" Aurelius screamed out in fear and confusion.

"YOU DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH HER, AND I SAW NOTHING!?" Aurelius said in a panic.

"It's not my fault she didn't have a defense to instant death magic. It's a resistance that must be obtained first when someone has the chance." Momonga said.

'Instant death magic? Is he saying that he can kill people instantly without anything harming them physically?'

"No... that's impossible!" Aurelius said.

Momonga seemed to get a tiny bit annoyed.

"Anyways... time to end this!" Momonga said.

"Wait! WAIT! We can talk this out! I have a little sister, and I must take care of her! If I don't, no one will!" Aurelius said. But he realized that Momonga wasn't listening, so he started to run away as fast as he could.

"Since everyone was using Fireball on me earlier, I'll return the gesture. [Fireball]" Momonga said. A gigantic fireball formed in front of him, firing toward Aurelius.

'No... please...'

Aurelius felt the sudden heat of the Fireball, and his body burned from the feet to the top of his head.

'I-I'm sorry, Hannah...'

With that, he was engulfed into the Fireball; nothing was left of him.

Momonga walked the endless hallways of the bandit base. Until he heard screams coming from ahead, he picked up the pace, eventually arriving in front of a door.

'Finally'

He slammed the door open and the same room shook at Momonga's strength. What he saw next wasn't pleasant by any means; Claire was hung up, shocked for a full hour. Her eyes were cloudy, like hope was drained out of her. Her beautiful clothes around Momonga were tattered and ripped, and abundant skin was showing. But a man was on the sideline. He was constantly laughing like a man that has gone insane.

"Hahaha! Shock her again! again!" Marcus said as he was entirely entertained.

But... then Claire noticed Momonga, and her lips moved ever so slightly.

"Momonga..." She stuttered as if Momonga's presence made a sliver of hope return.

Momonga turned toward the man laughing constantly, and approached. However, he was stopped by his four guards, but Momonga, in a pit of anger. Smashed all of their heads into the ground, their flesh splatting everywhere. He then threw them over to a wall, the splatter of blood painting it.

Momonga then walked behind Marcus, standing tall and casting a shadow over him.

"Huh?" Marcus said as he turned around.

"So... you like torture, do you?" Momonga said, lifting his hand up into the air.

"Yes, I very much d-" Before Marcus even finished his sentence, he was sent flying into the wall. His left arm was cut clean in half, bleeding profusely.

"Now, since you enjoy torture so much. How about you experience it yourself." Momonga said, approaching Marcus yet again.

"WAIT! NO! LISTEN, I CAN GIVE YOU MONEY, WOMEN; YOU SEE UP THERE THE ELF ON THE CONTRAPTION, I'LL GIVE YOU HER FREE OF CHARGE!" Marcus said in sheer panic.

Momonga reached for his mask, slowly taking it off.

"I don't need your pathetic deals, as I'm here to show you true pain. By the time I am finished with you, you are going to wish I would've killed you right here and now." Momonga said.

However, Marcus, using the ring on his figure, looked into Momonga's mind trying to find a way out. But... something strange happened; he found himself in an expensive throne room, flags flying high from the walls, large pillars, a black carpet leading up to a majestic throne, and chanting.

Quantus tremor est futurus, (Oh, what fear man's bosom rendeth)

Quando Judex est venturus, (When from heaven the Judge descendeth)

Cuncta stricte discussurus! (On whose sentence all dependeth)

Mors stupebit et natura (Death is struck, and nature quaking)

Coget omnes ante (All it bringeth)

Coget omnes ante thronum (All before the throne it bringeth)

Marcus was then forced outside of Momonga's mind and looked straight into Momonga's eyes. His undead facial structure, his red glowing eyes... it... was... Death...

Screams echoed throughout the hallways, and a gurgling sound was quite apparent, as shocking noises and the smell of burning flesh were also apparent.

Momonga finished with Marcus, turned back to Claire. He then unlocked the chains holding her up, and she fell into his arms.

"I'm sorry that I'm late... Now, let's go somewhere safe," Momonga said as he started to walk out of the bandit base toward the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
