Summary: Harry has always been thrusted into a life which he never wanted to live, all he wanted was to be a normal boy with a loving family, what if Harry is given a chance to actually have his dream. How will Harry grow if he doesn't have to deal with dark lords, death eaters and constant threat to his life. What if he used all his worth to learn magic, and just have fun. Last time on Normalcy is Divine:

The hall went silent as everyone looked to see the headmaster standing. "Welcome students new and old. The first years please note that the forbidden forest is strictly forbidden to all students. Our caretaker Mr. Filch asked me to remind you about the list of banned items which is already posted in your common rooms. Now I would ask everyone to welcome two new professors. First is the new professor of Muggle Studies, Professor Lily Evans." Dumbledore let the applause die down as he continued "And secondly please welcome our new Defense against the dark arts teacher, Professor Jensen Padelecki!"

"As for the final announcement, Enjoy the food!" With a swish of his hand, all the tables were filled with food. Harry looked around and with a smile started filling his plate as the conversation around the great hall began. He was indeed back at Hogwarts.

Harry along with his fellow Slytherins were led towards the dungeon where the Slytherin dormitories were located by the two fifth year prefects. Stopping in front of a blank wall the elder boy turned and said. "This wall here is the entrance to our common room, you can remember it by Sir Argus Knight's painting at the corner. The door will materialize once you say the password." He turned again and spoke in a loud clear voice "Belladonna" and a door materialized in the black wall. The two prefects entered promoting the first years to follow them.

"Welcome to the greatest house of Hogwarts four. Slytherin house in its grand history has produced the highest number of successful and influential wizards and witches, and you lot are chosen to continue to be part of it. The most important thing to remember is that we get more flak than any other house, and every other house will always band together against us, so never go alone anywhere and always have a back up. Secondly, we present a United front outside these walls. Any internal quarrels have to be solved within this common room. Our head of house Professor Shape's office is right next to the potions classroom."

" If you need help with something you can ask him or come to one of us prefects. Boys dorms are on the right, and the Girls dorms are on the left. Your luggage is already in your rooms. Now while we have more than enough rooms due to us living in the dungeons, you cannot move to a solo room until your second year. Finally the password changes on every 15th and 30th of the month. The new password will be put on the notice board next to the exit door from 9 am to 9 pm. Any questions?" Seeing none, he continued "then why don't you all introduce yourself to the house?"

Harry looked around and found that indeed the entire Slytherin population was gathered in the common room to see the first years introduce themselves. Seeing none of the first years start, a sharp voice cut in. Everyone turned to see a tall blonde boy with a perfect badge, saying "Why don't you start sister, that should give others a nudge. Don't worry it's not an interrogation, just an introduction"

The girl standing in front of the crowd stepped up and said "Hello, I am Lilith Rosier, from the Noble house of Rosier. Jasper over there is my older brother" Harry somehow felt, the second statement was directed more towards the first year. "I like reading and I hope that someday, I will become a Charms Mistress," the blonde, now identified as Lilith, ended with a smile. A small applause went around the room as the girl moved towards the crowd, people already introducing themselves.

Seeing the Slytherin house welcome new students, Harry couldn't help but feel jealous. Gryffindor was great and all but in the first year he felt pretty lost. If it wasn't for Ron, he probably would not even make a single friend. The introduction and the applause all felt quite welcoming, plus Slytherin even allowed older students to get solo rooms! Now that was quite a perk. Harry could already see Slytherin as a better house.

"Hello, my name is Adrian Pucey, I like quidditch, and I want to become an auror when I grow up" said the dark haired boy as he introduced himself.

"Hello I am Septimus Yaxley, heir to the Noble house of Yaxley. I like quidditch and I have yet to decide on my future line of work" Harry groaned as he saw his best friend snootily walk towards the crowd, and yet the crowd seemed interested to meet the Yaxley heir, while the previous boy had all but been ignored though being polite in his introduction. Then it clicked him, this whole introduction fiasco was just like any other Get together he had attended in his previous life. The introduction was to see who is who of the society, a random pureblood lad was clearly not as appealing as the heir to a rich and influential house.

'Why can't everybody just be kids and just act their age' Harry thought as a groan escaped his lips. He looked around to see it was his turn. He took a couple of steps, corrected his posture and said in a confident voice "Good evening, I am Hadrian James Potter-Black, Heir to the Most Ancient and noble Houses of Potter and Black. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. I like quidditch and I hope someday I will win silverware for England" Harry finished with a small smile, to the biggest round of applause for the evening. As he walked towards his friend, many introduced themselves with few handshakes and pats on the back.

"So Potter, Can you back that statement with skills?" Harry turned to see a black haired teen standing behind him.

"I definitely can" he answered

"Well then kiddo, you better show up at the trials, with Jasper not playing this year, we need all the help we can get."

"But first years are not allowed on the team" Harry was already prepared to wait for a year to join the team.

"First years are not allowed to own a broomstick, There's no rule in the book that states they can't be on the team. If you make the cut, I am sure you will find someone ready to lend you a broom." The older boy replied with a smirk. "Best of luck kiddo, while I would never say this for any Gryffindor, I do hope you inherited your father's talent."

The rest of the introduction ceremony went without any incidents. Harry was glad that the first year rooms were assigned for two students per room. Luckily they were able to convince Pucey to exchange the room with Septimus and thus the two friends could share the room together.

Harry was very excited for the next day, since the arrival at Hogwarts was on a Friday, the students had no classes till the next Monday. Harry couldn't wait to explore the castle again, in his previous life, Harry never went back to the old castle after graduation, the death of so many loved ones had made the journey just too hard for him, and later in his life he just had been to busy.

The next morning, Harry wasted no time in getting ready and was surprised to see his roomate also following his lead. Septimus Yaxley always hated the mornings! But clearly the excitement got to him as well. Soo the two friends could be seen walking aimlessly along the corridors of Hogwarts, taking in the sights and memorizing important landmarks. Harry ofcourse knew every Nick and corner of the mighty castle, but the nostalgia concentrated magic in the air made him smile widely. Though the best thing that happened was Harry was practically a nobody, there were staring, gawking, pointing fingers everywhere he went, he was already enjoying coming back to this place.

"Where you going Harry, the great hall is this way" Septimus said pointing to the corridor on the left.

"No it's not! It's this way you jackass" Harry replied.

"How about about a wager?"

"You already owe me 30 galleons septi!" Harry replied with a sigh. "And have I ever been wrong?".

"Bloody know it all! You might have been right a few times, but I know the great hall is this way!" The Yaxley heir retorted.

Feeling his hunger increase Harry said "look bruv, let's go my way, if I am wrong then you don't owe me anything, I'll let that 30 galleons go."

"And what if you are right?" Septimus asked suspiciously

"Then nothing, you still owe me 30 Gs"

"Alright, looks like I am going to be debt free this morning, because the great hall being that way has the same chances as a Frenchie twat winning us the league!" Exclaimed Septimus happily. Harry couldn't hold the laugh, his best friend was in for a shock as the 2000s rolled in.

After 5 minutes, a grumbling Septimus and a smirking Harry could be seen sitting on the Slytherin table filling their plates with food. Harry looked around the hall, and found it mostly empty, no classes meant, most students were able to sleep as much as they wanted.

Two pieces of parchment suddenly appeared in front of them, looking at them, Harry figured it was their schedule for classes, he turned to look at his head of house, only to see him sipping his tea while reading a book, completely ignoring everything around him. Half of the staff was also missing from the table. The entry of the newest professors of Hogwarts in the great hall made Harry almost laugh. The contrasting features on their faces after looking at Harry was indeed funny. While the muggle studies professor looked like Harry had killed her cat, the Defense professor was jovial and gave a small wave to Harry, and he had no idea what he did to receive such reactions.

The remaining weekend mostly was spent exploring the castle, lazing around or making new friends. Harry had later learned that the boy who offered quidditch tryouts was someone named Seamus Troy, a seventh year and younger brother to the legendary Irish chaser who helped Ireland win the 94' world cup.

Harry was glad his fellow first year Slytherins were somewhat fun to be around, Pucey especially he remembered as the only Slytherin player who focused more on the game rather than fouling his opponent, and he seemed like a pretty good lad with what little interactions they had. He made sure to make a good impression on Judy Rowle, as he remembered her becoming one of the hottest girls in Hogwarts by the time she reached 5th year. She certainly had a huge pair of personalities.

Cedric joined them most of the time, though his house mates seemed wary of the Slytherin duo. A Hufflepuff hanging out with two Slytherins drew a lot of attention, and many older students had not so subtly warned the 'innocent' Hufflepuff about hanging out with Slytherins. This didn't seem to faze the trio, as they had been friends well before Hogwarts, and would be long after their graduation, a simple sorting in different houses was certainly not going to change that.

On Monday, Harry received a letter from his mother, congratulating him on being sorted to Slytherin and how proud his family was for him. Apparently women in his house were quite smug that finally someone had enough sense to break the stupid tradition of being sorted in Gryffindor. After breakfast the first lesson was double defense shared with Hufflepuff.

Soon the three friends were seated together in the defense classroom, by now everyone knew their friendship enough to not mind the Slytherins hanging out with a Hufflepuff.

"Welcome students to your first lesson in the defense against the dark arts. I am Professor Jensen Padelecki, you can call me professor Padelecki or professor Jensen. As for my qualifications, I have mostly worked independently with my brother as hunter, to hunt dark creatures who terrorize muggles. Saving lives, hunting things, it's sort of a family business. I have also worked as chief of security detail for P&B incorporated for four years." He said with a small smile and a nod towards Harry.

"That explains the overly friendly attitude" whispered Septimus, making the three of them laugh.

"In this class, you will learn the necessary skills to fight off and survive against deadly situations that I pray you never would have to face, alas our world is not as safe as it seems. So I hope I don't have to explain why this subject is one of the most important and difficult. Throughout the seven years we would work on honing your senses, reflexes and incorporating different techniques that would make you adequate enough so that you can protect yourself and your loved ones. For now though, please open page 20 of your books and start reading till page 30."

This was the first time Harry had a professional and a competent defense teacher. While moony had been great, he had his own problems to deal with. Professor Padalecki though, was something else. He would tell stories about the adventures he had with his brother, and incorporate those stories as lessons to learn from.

The next class was transfiguration with the Gryffindors. He entered the class with his fellow students. The houses as usual glaring and taunting each other. The students from the two houses seemed to get brainwashed quite quickly after entering Hogwarts. When Harry saw Professor's animagus form on the table, he couldn't help but decide to play a prank on her.

"Oh look Septi, Professor's cat!" He exclaimed as he approached the cat sitting stoically on the table. "Here kitty kitty! Who wants a belly rub, you do" Harry spoke as if talking to a baby. The cat raised its heckles to warn the boy. "Aww, don't be like that, come here, let me pet you, my hugs are the best!" Harry said as he tried to scoop up the cat in his arms. The cat jumped on his head, took another leap and transformed back into a flushed transfiguration professor, which made Harry laugh loudly.

"Mr. Potter! 10 points from Slytherin!" She said after composing herself, directing a glare at him. "How did you know I was an Animagus?".

Deciding against lying Harry said "My father and uncle are both Animagus professors, growing up with them, one can recognise the signs. For example, you were sitting quite stifly, cats usually don't.

"Yes, James and Sirius were indeed prodigious in my subjects, I hope you inherited their talent for the art as well, like you did their habit of childish jokes, and let this be the only warning, I do not appreciate such moronic behaviours in my classes, now please take your seat."

Rest of the lesson went pretty much the same way as in his past life. Unlike last time though, Harry didn't face any difficulty in changing matchstick to needles. The stern professor even offered a small smile, when she saw him perform the spell perfectly on his first attempt. He had spent the rest of the lesson helping his fellow Slytherins and reading through the book. This had earned him double the points he had lost at the start of the class.

Much like transfiguration, charms lesson had followed the same suit. The half goblin professor had been beyond the moon, when he saw Harry perform the charm on his first try. The tiny professor had showered Harry with points when he answered the theoretical questions with a much detailed explanation available in the books.

The Hufflepuff head of the house was glad to see at least one Slytherin student not afraid to get his hands dirty in her greenhouse. Just like other Professors she was thoroughly impressed by the knowledge shown by the Potter heir.

Potions however was not at all how Harry imagined it would be. While Harry could feel the burning hate in the glare of his potion professor when he read his name from the list of students, The greasy haired professor however had not acted upon it. Once Harry had submitted a perfect potion, Harry felt his eyebrow shoot up in his hair when he heard a small "Acceptable" from Snape. Harry couldn't understand how or why Snape was so mellowed out and actually controlled his hate. Was it due to him being a Slytherin student, or was it due to Lily being alive and not married to his father.

While showing off in front of eleven year olds over absolute basic spells seemed stupid thing to do, Harry had to do it. He had planned well in advance that he would establish himself as a once in a lifetime genius in the magical arts, which would open a lot of doors. Professors have been known to give private lessons to students who excelled in their subjects, and once recognised as a genius among geniuses, the Hogwarts staff won't mind him going through advanced books.

Harry was helping his house mates and Cedric in the lessons, which had increased his popularity among the Hogwarts staff; teachers seemed to love the kind gesture. Following Cedric's example, other Hufflepuffs students, namely the girls he met on train, asked him for help, which he was happy to give and then the flood gates opened. Many students would ask his help in and out of classes, within the first week Harry was the most popular student in first year, despite being in the house of snakes.

His house for that matter was overjoyed due to the heavy amount of points he had earned, within the first week, Harry had earned north of fifty points and had given his house a massive lead of thirty five points. Soon all the school had heard about a kind and genius Slytherin. Harry was enduring being in the spotlight just so he would be in the good books of the old headmaster, which could earn him some lessons from him and most importantly free access to the restricted section.

Despite this, not everyone seemed to love him, the competitive and jealous side of few students had earned him their ire. Few students thoroughly believed that he was evil reincarnate and was plotting to take over the world. While Harry ignored them, Septimus would defend his best friend viciously. On the other hand the Weasley twins had made it their mission to embarrass him in front of the whole school, when he had dodged two of their pranks and just laughed it off.

He had believed going to Hogwarts again, and trumping children in studies would be fun, but Harry was not prepared for the utter boredom he felt. The teachers only taught one spell per class and let students practice it for the remaining time. Sitting there for forty minutes was gratingly boring and annoying after he had already casted the spell. The only subject which was somewhat entertaining was potions. While the potions were pretty easy to make, he still had to make them and once finished, Snape allowed the students to leave.

Harry desperately needed to get the marauder's map, as it would actually allow him to start accessing the marvelous hidden gems in Hogwarts, like room of requirement. He had every intention of researching its properties, and the work that the founders put in this mighty old castle. He also wanted to explore the chamber of secrets, but he couldn't as he had lost the parseltongue ability after the horcrux in his head got killed, but every other place was fair game.

True to his word, the seventh year who had offered a quidditch trial indeed approached Harry the day after his flying lesson. Turns out, Seamus Troy was the quidditch captain as well. He had made Harry perform some common drills, some advanced ones, then had playe game of chasing.

"That is some mighty flying Potter. I can't believe it, but you are definitely better than my brother, when he was your age. Consider the chaser spot yours! Unless of course someone better comes along, which I highly doubt would be the case. Where did you learn that maneuver at the end?" The older boy said as both the boys landed on the ground, and grabbed refreshments.

"I have been flying since as long as I can remember, though my uncle has been training me for the past couple of years. He wants me to play for England someday." Harry said with a shrug.

"You are already almost matching me with those sneaky little plays kiddo. I am sure if you keep up the grind, you will be lifting the world cup one day." Seamus said with a small smile on his face. "Anyways, the only thing I am worried about is your stamina. While it's okay for average games, you might face some serious issues in the longer ones. So from tomorrow, you will meet me in the common room at 5 in the morning, and we will be running around the lake. I don't care if it's raining, snowing or whatever, you will not miss a day of training. I don't want to see that talent going to waste." He continued making the younger boy groan.

Sirius had always pointed out his less than stellar stamina, but Harry figured he would be fine, as his body will grow, and in previous life he hadn't needed some extra training. However, Harry hadn't taken into account the difference between his bodies from the two lives, and the constant running away from Dudley and his gang had actually made him quite a stamina freak. Secondly Harry was trying for the chaser position, which was a much more physically demanding position than seeker. Hence he had to reluctantly agree to his new captain.

Seamus had actually taken Harry under his wing. The two can be seen running around or performing some mild exercises near the great lake every morning. The younger boy was absolutely not allowed to eat any grease, Seamus had made sure to inform the kitchens the new dietary requirements of the newest chaser of the Slytherin house, and the house elves were more than happy to help.

Within a month, the whole castle knew about the newest addition to the Slytherin team, and Harry was actually the youngest chaser in 150 years. Harry was proud of his achievement, both his uncle and his new captain had been grinding him to hone his skills on the broom, and finally he felt he had achieved something in his life.

Two days before Halloween, Harry was sitting on the Slytherin table for breakfast with his quidditch team and Septimus. They had a grueling session of practice in the morning, as it was a Sunday and they had no classes. On his right, Septimus was grumbling as he read through the article from his muggle newspaper. "Drew against Derby County! These were easy 3 points! I don't know what's going on in their heads!"

Soon the owls started pouring in the great hall, carrying mail. Harry looked up to see Hedwig carrying a long parcel. Harry felt another wave of deja vu as he got up in time to catch the broom shaped package which was dropped by the white owl. The owl then flew back and landed on the table and started eating from Harry's plate. Harry however paid no attention and placed the broom delicately on the table.

The package had attracted attention from nearly every student, nearly every quidditch fanatic in Slytherin was huddled near the team to see the broom, while students from other houses preened their necks in hopes to get a glimpse.

Harry hungrily tore through the covering to see his newest possession.

"Oh Merlin! It's the new Nimbus 98!" A voice exclaimed

"Not only that, look, it's custom made!" Another said

"Yeah! The wood, it's not regular! Looks like darker than usual"

"How the hell did he get one!" Said a voice from the Ravenclaw table.

"He's a Potter! They are very very rich!" Another raven replied.

"Potter! If you hurt a single twig on this baby, I am going to kill you! You will be polishing her every night. I don't care if you have homework or exams, you will treat her with utter respect deserving of her station." Harry heard his captain roar as he fixed a death stare on the young boy.

Harry admired the beautiful broomstick, this was something else, the dark wood, lined by a tinge of green stripe, his initials, written in gold under the Nimbus company logo. Harry looked through the packaging and found a letter.

Dear son,

First of all, congratulations on making the team in your very first year! All of us are so proud! Words cannot express how proud we are. We always knew your amazing talent, now it's time to show it to the world!

Don't consider any game an easy one, give your hundred percent in every game you play. I hope this little gift will help you in your matches. We all will be present in Hogwarts for your first game. Cygnus couldn't wait to see you play in a real match.

On the other hand, your mother asked me to remind you, that you do not let the quidditch come in between your grades. Sirius being on the board of governors informed us about your stellar performance in academics. Keep up the good work, we are very proud of you. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask us.

Lots of love,

Mum and dad.

As Harry read through the letter, he felt the warm feeling in his chest growing with each passing word. He was absolutely glad that his family would be attending the match. Harry had always been jealous of other players, their parents would attend the matches to show their support. Harry had vowed to do his utter best and make sure that his parent's expensive gift didn't go to waste.

"Oi mate!" Harry turned to look at his best friend who was holding the broom "do you think your parents would adopt me?" Harry couldn't help but laugh at the Yaxley heir as he held the broom as if it was the best thing in the world.

Harry was nervous today, this had got to be the most hated holiday of his life. Every single Hogwarts year, something or the bad happened in his life on Halloween. Harry couldn't help but be extra vigilant today. Harry sat at the feast with his friends quietly eating his food, constantly looking around for any danger, but nothing came.

Slowly Harry started relaxing as he took in the festive spirit. For the first time in his life, he was enjoying Halloween. He looked towards the fantastic assortment of sweet wonders on the table and decided to have some treacle tart, he always had a soft corner for them. As he was moving his hands towards the dessert, his hand was slapped back towards him.

"Potter! Who said you could eat all this?" Harry jumped in his seat as he turned to see Seamus glaring at him.

"But it's Halloween!"

"So what? You need to decide Potter what you want? Some dessert of a career in Quidditch!" Seeing Harry slump in his chair he continued "Yes! That's what I thought! Now fill your plate with some protein and fibre."

'I hate Halloween' Harry thought as he looked around to see his friends enjoy the treats.

To be continued...

Hope you liked it.
