Author's Notes: I had to research Japanese history (unpleasant history) for a part of Kagome's journaling. It serves her purpose of anger. Which I can currently relate to. Here is the honest answer to those who keep PM'ing me to ask who I am pairing Kagome with. I DON'T KNOW! And at the moment, my muse and she are not wanting any of them. So if youdo not like that, I politely ask you to turn around and leave now because I don't see the point in wasting your time and mine.

Kagome flopped onto the single-wide bed. A gentle smile played at the corners of her mouth. Summer Vacation was almost over, and she could honestly say it was one of her best. Ever.

She was rolling onto her stomach, her hand sliding under the pillow. Kagome was glad her mother had encouraged her to bring her diary. And when miss Leilani found out, she too showed her approval. Stating it was good to write out the things on her mind for reflection later. Miss Leilani called it cleaning out the attic.

So with an expert flick, Kagome opened the diary and popped the cap off her pen.

'Hey friend, it's been about a month. I took the offer to vacation with my counselor and teacher, Miss Leilani. And Hokkaido is amazing! The flowers are vibrant and grow in batches as time passes.

Miss Leilani has taken me all over the place. To Nakajima Park, Lake Shikotsu, and my favorite, Hokkaido shrine! I could feel the history the shrine was steeped in. Being there had seemingly washed away all my negative emotions. And it allowed me not to feel homesick.

Odd, huh!?

Well, it doesn't matter. I feel happy, balanced, and freer than I have in months. And Miss Leilani has been helping me with my meditation, which has made my body lighter, leaving me filled with astronomical amounts of energy. It is so strange.

I know that the legends of my shrine are filled with truth and fiction. But now I cannot help but think there might be more truth than I previously thought.

Another thing, Miss Leilani told me the school is willing to transfer me to another location, all expenses paid. The school is admitting to being responsible for the mental, emotional, and physical damage I received from the bullying.

Oddly, the boys themselves came to me on the last day. In the cafeteria and apologized. Their father had 'talked' to them about their 'choice' of actions.

I'll tell you now; I couldn't believe them. First, they did it publicly in such a manner I could not refuse or decline. So no pressure, right? And second, the way they (Reiji) stated it was because of their father. A Government official. Yeah, I had to accept. Again, no pressure.

Shortly after, Miss Leilani and Teacher Ayame came to me. They asked me if I was interested in Summer Training. I accepted as I enjoy my history of shrines and priesthood.

The class is small; therefore, I only had to deal with five other people. All of whom are here. They (in the time we've been in Hokkaido) all seem to realize I'm nothing like the rumors. Each was sincere in their apology. Especially a young man named Miroku Bosan. A bit of a flirt but nice overall. He is engaged and loves showing pictures of his fiancee and her little brother. And for some reason, Miroku (as well as his girlfriend Sango and her little brother Kohaku) make me feel nostalgic. As if I've known them a long time, but I have not seen them in a long time.

This is also something I've come to notice from my classes with Miss Leilani. She explained that this phenomenon isn't uncommon. Those with a rich history can feel connections with others of like kinds. Miroku has also stated that I'm familiar with him.

A plus is that Miroku wants me to meet Sango and Kohaku when we return. I asked if I could bring Souta. He said yes without thinking about it.

These are all great things, and my time here has been exactly what I needed. Yet, with the bombshell Miss Leilani dropped about the school being willing to transfer me, she encouraged me to use the rest of summer vacation here in Hokkaido to think about it.

When I questioned her why I was getting this opportunity, Miss Leilani explained that it was because I was a selected student for this year. And the staff feels guilty about the treatment I have received in their learning facility. They claim I am a good student who tries my best and doesn't want to lose me. I now feel torn as I've made that promise with Miroku. And would have to leave my family.

Miss Leilani said I could call my family and tell them about this offer if I wanted to. And let them help me decide what to do. Then there is also Miroku. I feel I should talk to him and let him know about this. I don't know why, but I trust my new friend to help guide me in the right direction.

Diary, I have no clue why life keeps throwing me such nasty curveballs. Bye-bye for now.'

Kagome placed the cap back on her pen before placing it between the diary pages. The smile she knew was on her face should reflect her happy and warm feelings. Closing her eyes, Kagome let herself drift to sleep.

"Thank you, Leilani. We will see you when you return to Tokyo."

The office was silent as three pairs of eyes watched Sesshomaru hang up the phone.

"So, what's the verdict?"

Golden eyes shifted, looking around the room. The silence was heavy as the trio waited for an answer.

"Kagome took the offer in shock and surprise. Leilani said she was torn. Her powers awakening and fate seem to bring the reincarnation of the Monk, Slayer, and her brother into Kagome's life.

The group went still, each holding their breath as they let their disbelief color their faces. This situation had not happened before. Was this a good or bad sign?

"We will wait. Because Kagome said she needed to think and talk with her family and the Monk," Sesshomaru said.

They could tell he was also in a state of disbelief. But it was clear this was an unexpected development.

"Well, I'm all for it. I mean mom- Kagome was particularly close to them. Sango was her best friend. So, this might help keep her balanced until she naturally awakens," Shippo quipped.

His words got nods of approval, for they all hoped for the same thing. Though they were sure when Kagome got back, she'd hear about the 'incidents' that had happened to her so-called best friends Ayame, Yuka, and Eri's families. And none of them felt a damn thing about those arrogant, hormonal, backstabbing teenagers.

Thirteen pairs of eyes watched warily as their father(and creator) paced agitatedly. The wild fluctuation of his aura kept them silent and in check. They'd been told when he got home that the girl, Kagome, had been given an option of switching to a different school.

And they now knew why she was so special—between Reiji and Ruki constantly researching, neither finding anything. It had been Kino and Shuu who'd figured it out.

The truth had stunned them. To know a predator, an unassuming one, had been in their midst this whole time. One that drew them in like moths to a flame. Made their instincts clammer ravenously for her. Yet, at the same time want to destroy her.

Kino and Shuu had casually(at dinner the day before summer vacation started) asked their father if Kagome was a priestess. It had felt as if the world had stopped turning because their father smiled and looked pleased.

When he asked how Kino and Shuu came to that conclusion, the answer given was they'd realized Kagome was in a particular class only a select group could enter. And she had started to give off the same feeling as two others in the class. Both of whom were male.

"Father, I am sure she will come back. She accepted our apology," Reiji stated. His lips curled up smugly.

"Really? You think so?"

The sharp tone their father used had Reiji deflating. He was not as confident as he appeared to be.

"I do not think... she will..." Azusa spoke. His words halting in that annoying manner of his. "She... seemed rather... reluctant to accept... the apology."

Again they all witnessed the pleased smile appear on their father's face. He was leaving them feeling very unsettled.

"Correct. I observed from the cafeteria door," Karlheinz said. His voice is soft and deadly. "That's a clear intimidation tactic. And if you think Kagome is an idiot, I have no faith in any of you."

Unable to respond, they hung their heads to avoid their heavy gaze.
