It was okay.
It was okay.
It was fine.
No, it wasn't.
But Kagome was not going to let that show on her face.
"Toshinori-san," She leaned against the wall, eyeing everything but the man. They were out of sight from the others, which of course, Hawks lightly objected to, but everyone simply ignored him, "What do you want to talk about?"
She might as well come and ask out right.
"You know what," All Might's expression was grim as he settled a large hand on Kagome's head and he felt her tense a little, "Are you all right? I know that mission must have taken its toll on you."
"Well?" Kagome put her arms out as if showing herself off, "Look at me. Do you think I look better? I'm not burrowing under beds anymore. I even talk regularly now!"
All Might sighed, "I admit you look much more lively than the last time I saw you," He looked towards the ground, "Hawks has done a good job, but–" His fist clenched and Kagome was stepping back into the wall as best she could when All Might began to steam and was suddenly muscling up, "–But I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you!"
"..." Kagome stared at him with wide eyes without words before she began to shake, "It was not your problem," She finally managed to get out, "Besides, I needed space after that."
"The hell you did!" All Might's tone rose and Kagome jumped, not expecting it all, "Young Kagome, what you went through would traumatize any young one! Why are you just letting this go so easily when you received no mental assistance afterwards!?"
"Maybe I didn't need it!" Kagome growled back, "I told you I was nothing more than a dog back then! I was ordered to do something to get a reward! I didn't care for those trafficking victims and you know that!"
All Might flinched back, gritting his teeth when the truth hit him hard. He let inhaled and exhaled slowly, calming his tense body, "But now," He ruffled her hair again, "I'm sure you would at least care for their safety." He laughed when Kagome let out a noise of disapproval.
And his thoughts began to wander.
~00~
This was hard.
And not at all like he thought it was.
'I'm not a Stealth Hero,' All Might thought, dressed in all black suit and tie as he walked down a long, but gorgeously decorated hall. He was in normal form (and even wearing a wig!) as not to be recognized and he waved as a man passed him and turned the corner.
Had he been a civilian, he easily would have let this go, but he was quite sure he heard the muffled gurgle for a mere second, 'He's gone.' All Might went back to examine the hall, not seeing a trace of evidence, 'But where?'
He stood, glancing both ways and was satisfied he was alone to transform into his bigger form.
Steam began to pour from his body and so abruptly, he was no longer the sickly man, but the No. 1 Hero in Japan, "I'll put a stop to this wretched operat–!?"
All Might tensed, his senses telling him that there was something wrong, but he could not figure out it wh– "What the...!?"
He was on the ground–HOW!?—and he opened his eyes to see a teen girl was just suddenly sitting on his chest out of nowhere with a sword stabbed IN HIS HEART!
It didn't hurt one bit.
He was shocked, startled as he tried to move, but it felt as though he was forced back into his true form without being physically transformed when the girl ripped the blade from his chest without a drop of blood. All Might looked up as quickly as he could and it froze him right down to his core.
How dead those blue eyes really were.
"So this is it, huh?" All Might smirked bitterly as the girl raised her sword again, and this time, aiming for a much more deadly place, "Not exactly the way Nighteye described it."
Her blade began to descend at lightning speed.
"MIKO," The voice shouted loudly enough that even All Might could hear it over the girl's comms, "STOP AT ONCE!"
And the girl did so.
