Sakura woke up to an insistent buzzing sound and rolled over in her bed, slapping her hand over her phone, silencing it. She took a deep breath and drifted back to sleep, only to be woken up by Gaara.
"I have to go baby," he whispered, kissing her shoulder.
Sakura forced her eyes open, most of the room was still shrouded in darkness, except for the window. She could see the sky begin to lighten as dawn broke. She rolled over and pressed herself against Gaara, "it's too early," she mumbled.
Gaara smiled at her and kissed her forehead, "I know beautiful," he gently pulled away from Sakura and stood up. He gathered his clothes and dressed quickly.
Sakura blinked several times before sitting up and yawning. She grabbed her phone from beside her and groaned, ten minutes past five. She looked over at Gaara and smiled as memories of last night filled her mind. How he held her so tenderly, loved her gently and kissed her so passionately. She sucked in a staggered breath as desire pooled low in her core.
She placed her hand on her stomach, her smile stretching further across her lips. She thought about how they had both confessed their feelings for one another, and how happy they both were. She never would have thought her life would have turned out this way a year ago. In love and pregnant.
Gaara looked over at her and was awe struck. In the early morning light, she looked angelic. Her hair mused around her, framing her beautiful face. The smile adding to her beauty. He walked over to the bed and sat down near her, "what are you smiling about beautiful?"
Sakura looked at him, "you."
Gaara caressed her cheek gently and tucked her hair behind her ear, "what about me?" he whispered.
"How happy you've made me," she moved closer to him, placing her hand on his chest, "and how much I love you."
"I love you too beautiful," he closed the distance between them and kissed her, moving his hand into her hair.
Sakura moaned into the kiss, pulling him closer to her, until he was on top of her. She moved her hands to his shirt and unbuttoned the first two buttons before Gaara stopped her.
Gaara pulled away from the kiss and looked down at her, "what are you doing beautiful?"
"What do you think?" Sakura raised a pointed eyebrow, her lips pulling to the side slightly.
"As much as I want to get back into bed with you, I must go. Plus, I don't think meeting your parents like this will work in my favour." He kissed her forehead and got off the bed, rebuttoning his shirt.
Sakura sighed deeply, "it was worth a try." She sat up and grabbed her shirt, slipping into it, followed by her shorts before getting out of bed. From her wardrobe, she grabbed her gown and slipped into it, tying the sash. She walked over to the bedroom door and gently pulled it open slightly, straining her ears for any sound that either her mum or dad was awake. After hearing nothing, she turned to Gaara, "they're still sleeping."
Gaara nodded and together, they made their way downstairs quietly. Gaara grabbed his shoes and slipped into them before pulling Sakura into a hug, "thank you for last night."
Sakura wrapped her arms around his shoulders, "thank you for coming over and for everything else." She blushed slightly, glad for the semi darkness that surrounded them.
Gaara smiled at her, "I love it when you blush," he kissed her gently.
Sakura smiled against his lips, "and I love you."
"I love you too," he caressed her cheek gently, before moving his hand to her stomach, "and our little baby."
Sakura placed her hand on top of his, her smile stretching further.
He kissed her cheek before walking to the front door. Sakura's keys were still in the lock from last night. He unlocked the door and pulled it open. He walked out into the cold morning and turned to face Sakura. "I'll speak to you later."
Sakura nodded and wrapped her arms around him, before pushing on her toes and kissing him, "take care."
"You too. Make sure you're taking regular breaks and eating and-
"I know Gaara," Sakura smiled at him, "I am a doctor."
Gaara smiled at her and kissed her forehead, "doesn't stop me from worrying about you." He walked to his car and waved goodbye as he got in and started the car.
Sakura smiled at him and waved bye before closing the door and walking into the living room.
"Sakura…"
Sakura froze at the mention of her name. She felt as if her blood had turned to ice, freezing in her veins. She looked up to find her father standing in the living room. "Dad… I… I didn't know you were awake."
Kizashi looked at her before sitting down on the sofa. He patted the seat next to him.
Sakura walked towards the sofa and sat down, facing her father. She pressed her lips together hoping that he hadn't heard hers and Gaara's conversation or seen him leave.
"So, the man that left, he's your boyfriend?" Kizashi asked.
Sakura bit the inside of her lip at his question. She felt like a child who'd been caught with her hand in the sweet jar. Her heart hammered hard against her chest, the pounding deafening her. She took a deep breath and slowly let it out, before looking at her dad and nodding. She licked her lips, "dad, before you say anything, I can-
"Sakura," Kizashi placed his on hers, giving it a gentle squeeze, "I am not going to lecture you for having company in your house," he gave her a small smile.
Sakura looked at him with wide eyes, surprised at his words.
"You seem to forget; I was young once too." He gave her a playful smile.
Sakura scrunched up her nose slightly, "I don't want to know what you and mum got up to when you were young."
Kizashi chuckled. "I thought I'd heard the front door open and close last night," he smiled, "so, who's your boyfriend?"
Sakura blushed slightly, "his name is Gaara," her lips pulling into a wide smile at his name
Kizashi noticed how her smile widened at the mere mention of his name, "it must be serious, if just mentioning his name makes you smile like that."
Sakura bit her bottom lip, trying to stop her smile from spreading, "it is."
Kizashi raised an eyebrow, "how long have you two been together?"
"Officially, a few weeks, but we've known one another for several months," she thought about it, "I met him a month after I moved here." Sakura looked at him and bit her bottom lip, "dad…?"
"Yes, my darling?"
"Could you please not mention Gaara to mum. You know what she is like.."
Kizashi looked at her, "Sakura, I don't think-
"I'm going to tell her, but I don't want her knowing that he was here last night or that he stayed the night…" Sakura interrupted him.
Kizashi sighed deeply before nodding, "okay. But you must tell her before we leave for Konoha."
"I will," Sakura smiled at him. She checked the time and stood up, "I need to get ready for work."
"I'll get your coffee ready. Do you still take three spoonsful of sugar, or is it more now?" Kizashi asked as he stood up.
"Still three, dad," Sakura smiled. She walked to her room and grabbed her towel and underwear and made her way to the bathroom. She turned on the shower, letting it heat up, while she brushed her teeth and stripped out of her clothes.
With her shower over, she wrapped her towel around her body and ran the other towel through her hair. Back in her room, she dressed quickly and dried her hair, pulling it up in a loose ponytail. As she made her way downstairs, she heard her mother and father speaking. She walked into the kitchen and smiled at them, "good morning mum."
Mebuki looked over at Sakura, her lips pulling in a scowl, "so, you're going to work?"
Sakura clenched her jaw and nodded, forcing the smile to stay on her face. "Like I said last night, I can't just take time off, I've got a lot to do at work."
"Hmph," Mebuki turned her attention back to the breakfast, flipping over the pancakes before they burnt. "I've made breakfast."
"Thank you, mum," Sakura grabbed the plates and placed them on the counter, before grabbing her coffee and taking a sip. "It's perfect dad."
"I've still got it," he smiled at her.
Mebuki plated the pancakes, eggs, and bacon, "here you are."
"Thanks for the food," both Sakura and Kizashi said in unison. They took their plates and sat down at the table, digging into their food.
With breakfast over, Sakura slipped into her shoes and grabbed her bag, throwing her phone into her bag and made her way to the door, "I'll see you later," she called over her shoulder as she left. She got into her car and drove to work.

Gaara drove home and made his way into the house quietly. Just as he was about to enter his rokm, Temari walked towards him.
"Where have you been?"
Gaara turned to look at her, "I was with Sakura."
Temari raised an eyebrow at him in question, "I thought her parents were in town."
"They are."
"So, you've met them?"
Gaara shook his head, "no, not yet."
Temari furrowed her brow in confusion, "why were you at Sakura's then?"
Gaara smiled at her.
"I don't want to know if you two were having sex," Temari added quickly.
"Not that I was going to tell you that," Gaara countered, "I was at Sakura's because she needed to see me."
Temari rolled her eyes, "seriously, you two are acting like teenagers who can't stay away from one another for longer than a few minutes."
Kankuro walked out of his room, rubbing the back of his head. He looked over at Gaara, "where did you go off to in the middle of the night?" he yawned.
"To see Sakura."
Kankuro smirked at him, "answering a booty call."
Temari scowled at him, "you're so disgusting."
"I'm just stating facts."
Temari shook her head, "Whatever." She walked past them and into her room, shutting the door behind her.
"How was the booty call?" Kankuro wriggled his eyebrows at Gaara.
Gaara ignored him and walked into his room, shutting the door behind him, he placed his phone and keys on the desk and grabbed his towel. He made his way to his bathroom, turning on the shower. Washed, he wrapped the towel around his waist, he brushed his teeth and walked back to his room.
Dressed, he grabbed his laptop and pocketed his phone and keys and left his room and headed towards the kitchen. He'd made himself a mug of coffee as Temari walked into the room.
"Want some?" he asked.
"Yes, please," Temari grabbed a bowl and filled it with cereal before adding milk.
Gaara placed the two mugs on the table and sat down, wrapping his hands around his mug. His mind was still on Sakura and their baby. The thoughts brought a smile across his face. I'm going to be a dad.
"What are you smiling about?" Temari looked over at him.
Gaara shook his head, "nothing." He brought his mug to his lips, taking a sip of the hot liquid.
Temari raised an eyebrow at him before shaking her head and taking a bite of her breakfast. She swallowed and looked at Gaara again, "are you ready for the meeting?"
Gaara gave her a questioning look.
"You've been so busy with Sakura that you forgot," Temari gave him a pointed look, before carrying on, "we're having the annual meeting to go through the contracts."
Gaara nodded, remembering now, "I'll gather all the contracts," he finished off his drink and stood up, grabbing his laptop. He made his way back to his car and drove to work.
In his office, he fired up his computer and laptop and sat down at his desk. For the next few hours, he went through the files, finding all the contracts they either completed or were in the process of completing. Halfway through, his mind turned towards Sakura once again. He pulled the laptop towards him, he opened the web browser and searched for cribs, baby clothes and toys and baby names.
When a knock sounded on the door, he looked up, "come in," he called.
Temari pushed open the door and walked in, "have you got the contracts?"
"Yes," Gaara minimised the screen he was looking at and brought up the contracts on his laptop, showing them to Temari.
"Let's go," Temari said after a while.
Gaara stood up, grabbed his laptop, and followed Temari out of his room and into the board room. As they took their places, several of the board members walked in, followed by Kankuro.
The meeting started and they spoke about all the contracts that they were still working on, followed by the upcoming contracts.
Temari used Gaara's laptop to go through the contracts that he was working through. As she moved between the files, she accidently opened the web browser and stared at it with confusion. Baby furniture, clothes, names… She looked over at Gaara with shock, before she clenched her jaw tightly, I knew it.
With the meeting over, Gaara reached over for his laptop, but was stopped by Temari, who placed her hand over the closed lid.
"Can I have my laptop back?" Gaara said.
"We need to talk," she whispered angrily at him.
"About what?" Gaara looked at her, confusion evident in his face.
Temari watched as the last of the members left the room. She stood up and shut the door behind them. She marched over to the table and opened the laptop and clicked on the web browser. "Care to explain this?"
Gaara looked over at the laptop, his blood running cold in his veins. He was sure he'd closed the web browser, evidently not.
"She's pregnant?" Temari asked, crossing her arms over her chest, her eyes glaring at Gaara.
Gaara swallowed a few times, before nodding, "yes, she is."
Temari barked out a laugh, throwing her hands in the air, "and here I thought that she wasn't using you."
"She isn't," Gaara told her.
"Really?" Temari looked at him, "because you two have only been together for a few weeks and suddenly she's pregnant!"
"I know, but-
"Did you see the pregnancy tests?" Temari interrupted.
"No, but-
"I knew it!" Temari shouted, interrupting him again, "let me guess, she told you she was on birth control too."
"You can't blame her for this!" Gaara shouted. "This isn't only on her, it's on me too."
Temari stared at him for a while before she shook her head in disbelief, "you didn't use protection, did you?"
"No, I didn't, and before you jump down my throat about it, it was an accident."
"What do you mean, an accident?"
"Each time we had sex, we were both so lost in one another that protection was the last thing either of us thought about," Gaara took a deep breath and slowly let it out. "Also, just so you're clear on this, she isn't using me."
Temari clenched her jaw, "you can't expect me not to think that." She sat down and ran her hand through her hair, before looking at him. "What are you going to do?"
"I'm going to be a father," Gaara told her.
"You can't be serious," Temari stared at him, "you barely know her and you're going to have a child together?"
"Yes," Gaara grabbed his laptop and left the room, making his way to his office. As he went to shut the door, Temari put her foot in the door, stopping him.
"What now, Temari?" Gaara glared at her and walked towards his desk.
"I just want to make sure that you're not making a mistake," Temari walked into the office, closing the door behind her softly.
He turned to face her, his teeth clenched tightly against her words, "I am not making a mistake," he told her, eyes narrowed at her, "I am not a child anymore."
"I know that," Temari gave him a small smile, "all I want to do is look after you."
Gaara scoffed at her, "seriously? And this is you looking out for me, telling me I am making a mistake because I want to have a child with the woman I love."
Temari opened her mouth, but Gaara stopped her from speaking with a raised hand.
"I know you don't exactly like Sakura, but I love her and I want to have this child with her."
"It's not that I don't like her," Temari walked towards him slowly, as if he was a feral creature that needed placating. "I don't want to see you get hurt."
Gaara closed his eyes and took a deep breath, slowly letting it out. He thought about Sakura, about their child and he knew that he wasn't making a mistake, that this is what he wanted, needed. He opened his eyes and grabbed his phone, keys and wallet, pocketing them and walked to the door.
"Where are you going?" Temari asked.
"Out, I have something I need to do." He opened the door and walked out, making his way out of the building and into his car, and drove into town.
