With work finally over, Sakura made her way home, only to be cornered by Mebuki.

"When am I meeting him?"

Sakura placed her bag on the sofa, and slipped out of her shoes, "hi mum, how are you? How has your day been?" she said with mock cheer as she walked past her mother and walked towards the kitchen, finding her father at the stove, making dinner. "You know you don't have to cook dad," Sakura smiled at him as she hugged him.

"I know," he kissed the top of her head, placing an arm around her middle, "I wanted to."

"Thank you," Sakura placed her head against his shoulder, "do you need a hand?"

"I'm good darling," Kizashi took his arm away and stirred the food, before throwing in the chopped vegetables into the broth. "You go get changed and relax."

"You're the best," Sakura kissed his cheek and grabbed a glass, filling it with water and drinking half of it. "Do you want a drink?"

"I've got one, thanks," he showed her the bottle of beer on the side.

Sakura finished the rest of her water and walked back into the living room, where her mother was waiting for her. Sakura sighed at the look on her face, knowing what was coming.

"Sakura," Mebuki started, staring at her daughter, "we leave in just over a day."

"I know mum."

"Are we to leave without meeting this boyfriend of yours?" Mebuki asked.

Sakura took a deep breath, slowly letting it out, "I haven't had the chance to speak to him-

"What's stopping you now?" Mebuki interrupted her.

Sakura raised an eyebrow at her mother, before shaking her head slightly. She grabbed her bag from the sofa and walked towards the stairs. "I'll call him and see if he is free tomorrow night."

"And you can't call him in front of me because…?"

"Because I don't want you embarrassing me," Sakura said as she walked up the stairs and into her room, shutting the door behind her. She pressed her back against it and sighed heavily. She sat on her bed and fished out her phone, unlocking it and clicking on Gaara's name. Her finger hovering over the call button, "here goes everything," she spoke out loud as she pressed the button.

She listened to the dial tone, until the call finally connected.

"Hi beautiful, how are you?" Gaara's voice filled her ears.

Sakura smiled, "hi, I'm good thanks. How are you? How was work?"

"I'm doing well, thank you. How are you? How have you been? Any more sickness?"

Sakura's smile stretched further at his questions, "I'm good thank you. I haven't felt too nauseous today."

"That's good to hear. What can I do for you baby?"

Sakura took a deep breath, slowly letting it out, "are you free tomorrow night?"

"I am, what would you like to do?"

"My mum wants to meet you."

"Okay… And you're worried about what might happen?"

"Yeah…" Sakura sighed out, "my mum has a habit of giving people the third degree, and I will totally understand if you say you don't want to see her and I won't-

"I'll meet her," he interrupted her.

"What? Are you sure?"

"I am."

"O…kay," Sakura nodded.

"What time do you want me to come over tomorrow? And do you want me to bring anything?"

"What? No," Sakura quickly said, "I'll make a reservation at the Tonkatsu restaurant for half seven tomorrow."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes," Sakura nodded again, "it will be better for both us for you to meet her in a public place, that way she can't be in your face the whole time… hopefully."

"Okay," Gaara chuckled lightly.

Sakura was about to say something, when her bedroom door opened, her mother standing in the doorway.

"Have you asked him?"

Sakura bit back a groan, "yes I have," she forced her tone to stay calm.

"And?" Mebuki crossed her arms over her chest, watching Sakura carefully.

"He's free tomorrow evening, I am going to make us a reservation at a restaurant for after work."

Mebuki nodded, "good. Also, dinner is ready," with that, she turned and made her way back down the stairs, leaving Sakura alone.

Sakura sighed and turned her attention back to the phone, "sorry about that."

"You don't need to apologise baby. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you."

Sakura smiled, "I love you too. Bye." With the call over, Sakura stood up, changed out of her clothes and pocketed her phone before making her way downstairs.

"Thanks for the dinner, dad," Sakura sat down and tucked into her food, enjoying the delicious tastes that flooded her mouth.

"What time are we meeting this boyfriend of yours then?" Mebuki asked.

Sakura gritted her teeth, forced herself to finish the food in her mouth and answered her mother. "Half seven."

"And what is his name?"

Sakura placed down her cutlery and looked at her mum, "his name is Gaara and I have a few conditions for tomorrow."

Mebuki raised an eyebrow at Sakura, "excuse me?"

Sakura kept her gaze on her mother's, refusing to look away from her penetrating stare, "you cannot interrogate Gaara, or try and meddle in our relationship."

Mebuki huffed out a laugh. She set her cutlery down and folded her hands together and looked at Sakura, "and if I don't agree to your conditions?"

"Then you don't get to meet him," Sakura stated.

The two women stared each other out, until finally Mebuki shook her head, "fine, I'll try to keep to your conditions."

"Thank you," Sakura forced herself to smile at her mother, and turned her attention back to her dinner.

They ate their meal in an awkward silence. Sakura worried whether letting her mother meet Gaara was a good thing, she hoped that her mother would at least try to not give Gaara the third degree by asking him every question under the sun. She glanced at her mother, finding her glaring at her before looking away quickly.

With their plates empty, Sakura tidied up the table and cleaned the kitchen, keeping herself distracted and out of her mother's way. With everything done, Sakura walked into the living room and sat down. She tried to pay attention to whatever was on the television, but her mind was on tomorrow, worrying about what could possibly go wrong. After several long, antagonising minutes, Sakura stood up.

"Are you off to bed darling?" Kizashi asked, looking up at Sakura.

"Yes dad," Sakura smiled and made her way to him. She kissed his cheek, "I'm tired and I've got a lot to do tomorrow at work."

"You wouldn't if you'd booked time off," Mebuki added.

Sakura ignored her mother's comment and looked towards her, "good night mother." She made her way to her room. She went through her nightly routine before getting into bed, sleep pulling her under as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Gaara was sat in his office when a knock sounded on the door. He glanced at the clock, 5.15 pm. "Come in," he called, turning his attention away from the door and clock.

Since Sakura's call last night about meeting her parents, he had been worried. He'd seen for himself what her mother was like, and truth be told, she terrified him. He didn't want to be on the receiving end of her anger, anger he'd only glimpsed at Naruto's engagement party.

After the argument with Temari the day before about his choices, Gaara had left the office and spent most of the night away from his family home, in hopes to avoid Temari, and it had worked, to an extent. When he had gotten back, Temari was already in bed, which allowed him to enter his room without an interrogation from her. However, this morning, Temari had tried to speak to Gaara, but he hadn't given her the opportunity to voice her worries or concerns, instead choosing to leave for work. And that was where he'd been since half six this morning.

At the sound of the door opening and closing, Gaara looked up to find none other than Temari standing in his office. He bit back the groan that filled his throat and watched as she walked towards him, sitting down on the empty chair opposite him.

"Gaara," Temari gave him a small smile, her hands clasped together in her lap. She took a quiet deep breath and tried to think of the best way to voice her thoughts without upsetting him.

"What can I do for you, Temari?" Gaara prompted after several minutes of silence between them.

"I… I want to apologise for yesterday," she finally said, another small smile plastered on her lips, "I was slightly out of line with my accusations."

"Slightly," Gaara scoffed, "try very."

The smile falling from her lips, "okay, fine," she sighed out, shaking her head. "I didn't come here to argue with you."

"No, you probably came to tell your little brother that he is making a huge mistake and should think things through," his words dripping with cynicism, he gave her a pointed look.

Temari shook her head again, "I'm trying to look out for you, that is all."

"And I told you, I don't need you to. I don't need you to try and control things, to tell me how to live my life."

"I know that," Temari looked at him, letting out a strained sigh, "that is why I'm here."

Gaara waited for her to continue.

"You're right, I have been interfering in your life since I found out about you and Sakura," she looked towards the wall with the picture of her and her brothers, taken outside their family house several years ago. "I worry about you, and like I said before," her gaze falling on Gaara, "it has been a while since I have seen you with someone.

"Suddenly, we find out you're in a relationship with the doctor who tended to you months ago, to you confessing to us that you love her, to her being pregnant within a few short weeks of you two being together," she stood up and walked towards the large windows, looking at the vast landscape surrounding them.

"Your point…?" Gaara asked, wanting to get this conversation over with.

Temari turned to face him, "my point is that whatever this is between you and Sakura, it's moving too fast, but," she held up her hand, stopping Gaara from interrupting her, "it is as you said, I cannot tell you what to do, or how to live your life, but what I can do is try and offer my support."

Gaara stared at his sister with suspecting eyes, "what's the catch Temari?"

She walked back towards his desk and sat down on the chair she had vacated, "there is no catch."

Gaara nodded, still not believing her words, "thank you," he finally said.

Temari gave him a small smile, "what are you doing tonight?"

"Why?"

"I was hoping that we could have a family meal together at home."

"I'm going out tonight," Gaara told her, his gaze falling on the clock. 5.45 pm, he needed to leave the office in the next forty five minutes, giving him enough time to go home and get showered and dressed before meeting Sakura's parents.

"Where are you going?" Temari asked, before adding, "you're meeting Sakura," it was said more as a statement than a question.

"Yes I am meeting Sakura," Gaara answered. "We're going to the Hidden Sands Tonkatsu."

"I guess you two should make the most of alone time you have now," Temari said.

Gaara gave her a small smile, "it's not going to be just us, I'm meeting her parents."

"Oh," Temari looked at him, her eyes wide.

"Yeah," Gaara sighed out and nodded, his attention falling on the clock again. 5.55 pm.

Temari nodded and stood up, "well, I'll leave you so you can go home and get ready," she walked out of his office.

Gaara narrowed his gaze, watching her carefully, "what are you up to?" he asked the walls around him. After a while, he turned his attention away from the door and towards his computer, working away for the next half hour before leaving his office and making his way home.

Showered and dressed, he grabbed his phone and wallet, pocketing them. He grabbed his jacket and slipped into it, he patted the pockets and smiled. With his keys in hand, he walked out of his room and the house, making his way to his car.

Sakura made it home by half six, she showered and dressed quickly. She said down and dried her hair, tying it up in a messy bun. She looked at her reflection, "it will be okay," she whispered to herself, taking a deep breath and trying to quell some of the nerves that filled her body.

She grabbed her phone and bag and made her way downstairs, where her parents were waiting for her.

"Ready?" Kizashi smiled at her.

Sakura nodded, "as ready as I'll ever be." She grabbed her jacket and slipped into it and made her way to the front door, her parents following after her.

They arrived at the restaurant fifteen minutes early. They were shown to their table, Sakura sitting opposite her mother and father. She took a deep breath, trying again to silence her nervousness. She looked at her mum, "please… Please remember not to keep questioning Gaara."

Mebuki narrowed her eyes at her, "I said I would, didn't I?" Her words dripping with anger.

Sakura nodded once and let out a shaky breath. She grabbed the glass of water and took a few sips, before placing it down, and running her hands on the skirt of her dress. She looked around her, watching as other guests were shown to their tables, people smiling at one another, greeting each other either with hugs or handshakes.

As her eyes took in the room once again, they fell on Gaara, as he walked towards them. Dressed in all black, he looked handsome, his red hair standing out against the black of his clothes, his green eyes falling on hers, filling with love. His lips pulling up in a slight smile.

Sakura smiled back at him and stood once he reached their table. "Hi," she whispered to him.

"Hi," he placed his hand on her back, and kissed her cheek gently. He turned his attention towards her parents. "Hello, I am Gaara, Sakura's boyfriend," he looked at Sakura and smiled before looking back at her parents. Her mother, who he had seen before, gave him a calculating look, nodded, her father smiled at him and held out his hand.

"Gaara, please take a seat," Kizashi said shaking Gaara's hand. "It's nice to finally meet you. Sakura has told us about you."

"Well, not a lot," Mebuki added, her brow raised slightly, "actually, she hasn't told us much about you at all, other than your name."

Sakura ground her jaw together and stared at her mother, "mum," she said through clenched teeth, "you promised."

Mebuki ignored Sakura, her eyes trained on Gaara, "tell me Gaara, what is it that you do?"

Gaara gave her a small smile, "I own and run a company, Sabaku Inc, with my two siblings."

Mebuki nodded, "impressive, so you're a very busy man then."

"Yes ma'am," he nodded.

"Tell me about yourself," Mebuki folded her arms on the table, her eyes still on Gaara.

Gaara looked over at Sakura and gave her a small smile and placed his hand on hers, giving it a gentle squeeze. He faced Mebuki, "Iwhat exactly would you like to know?"

"Have you always lived in Suna?"

"Yes, ma'am. I was born here, grew up here."

"How did you meet my daughter?" Mebuki glanced at Sakura, "she never did tell us how you two met."

Sakura grit her teeth together, "mum, you promised me."

Mebuki waved her off, her attention back on Gaara.

Gaara ran his thumb against Sakura's hand reassuringly. "We met at a bar several months ago."

"A bar?" Mebuki scoffed, "why am I not surprised by that?" her eyes glaring at Sakura.

"What?" Sakura raised her eyebrow at her mother.

"I didn't say anything."

"But you're implying something," Sakura added, her eyes narrowed, "whatever you want to say, say it."

"Sakura, Mebuki," Kizashi smiled at them, "this is meant to be a family dinner-

"It's more an interrogation of my life," Sakura said.

"It wouldn't be if you let me into your life and told me what you are up to!" Mebuki shouted.

Before either could say anything else, a waitress walked towards their table, followed by Temari and Kankuro.

Sakura and Gaara looked at one another, both with questioning eyes.

"What are you doing here?" he asked them, his eyes jumping between Kankuro and Temari.

"Don't ask me," Kankuro shrugged, his hands tucked into his jacket pockets, "Temari walked into my office and said we were meeting you here for dinner." He looked between the group, "I thought we were only meeting you two."

Gaara looked over at Temari, silently questioning her.

"I thought it would be nice to meet the family," Temari smiled sweetly at him, before looking at Sakura, "seeing as we'll be seeing a lot of one another from now on," the smile slightly falling.

Sakura's eyes widened at Temari's words, she took a deep breath, her hands clenching tightly together in her lap, she knows! She took another deep breath and tried to calm herself before she looked between them, and introduced them to her parents, "mum, dad, this is Temari and Kankuro, Gaara's siblings."

Kizashi smiled at them, "please, join us," he reached over and pulled the vacant table to theirs, Kankuro moving the chairs.

Kankuro sat next to Gaara, while Temari next to Kizashi.

"It's wonderful to meet you both," Kizashi smiled at them, before looking over at Sakura and Gaara, and finding both of them stunned.

Sakura took short, shallow breaths, trying to calm her beating heart. She clenched and unclenched her hands under the table, wiping away the cold sweat that seemed to ooze out of her. Her gaze was on the glass in front of her, worried to look at anyone, to find them questioning her reaction to them.

Gaara stared at Temari, his jaw clenched tight, every muscle in his body strung tight. He regretted mentioning to her about him meeting Sakura's parents, and not once did he think that Temari would impose herself on either him, Sakura or her parents. But here he was. From the corner of his eye, he noticed Sakura's discomfort. Her shoulders stiff, her gaze fixed on the glass in front of her.

"What do you mean that we'll be seeing each other more often?" Mebuki asked, looking over Kizashi at Temari.

"Oh, you don't know?" Temari looked between Gaara and Sakura, her eyebrow raised in question, before looking at Mebuki, giving her a small smile, "I suppose it isn't exactly my news to share."

Mebuki turned to Sakura and Gaara, staring at them, "what is going on?"

"Mum…" Sakura started, her heart hammering faster against her chest. She grabbed her glass and finished off the water. She felt as if everything was closing in around her. Her breathing turned fast and she swallowed several times, trying to get rid of the dryness that seemed to have settled into her mouth, making it hard for her to breath.

"Well…" Mebuki prompted, her gaze between Gaara and Sakura, "someone tell me."

"Mum… well you see, Gaara and I… well we are," Sakura licked her lips and tried to control her breathing that seemed to get shallower. She felt as if she had been trapped into a vacuum, where the only noise that could be heard was her pounding heart. Her stomach roiled, nausea filling her. She took another deep breath, trying to calm herself. It was only when she felt a hand squeeze hers gently, did all the noise surround her once again.

She looked over at Gaara, and gave him a small smile, squeezing his hand in return.

Gaara returned the smile, his thumb caressing the back of her hand. He nodded his head slightly, letting her know silently that he was here for her, with her no matter what was to happen.

"Sakura!" Mebuki shouted, "I asked you a question."

Sakura slowly looked at her mother, taking another deep breath in, she finally answered, "I… I am pregnant."

Mebuki's eyes widened, her mouth falling open. For a while, she sat in stunned silence, but eventually she asked, "what did you say?"

"I am pregnant."

"How long?"

"Urmm… give or take over a month," Sakura looked at Gaara and smiled.

Mebuki clenched her jaw, "let me guess, you weren't going to say anything about this to me before we leave?"

Sakura opened her mouth to reply, but Mebuki carried on.

"You would have let us leave without knowing that we are going to be grandparents?"

"Mum, I didn't know how to bring up the topic, especially given how you react to things."

Mebuki narrowed her eyes, "what does that mean?"

"Exactly as I said, you over react to everything, and make a big thing about it all."

Mebuki huffed out a laugh, "well, sorry for caring about your life." She picked up her glass and took a sip of the water. Her gaze jumping between Gaara and Sakura, "well, at least I got to meet your boyfriend finally, even though I had hoped to meet him at Naruto's engagement party when you told me about him."

Temari looked between Gaara and Sakura, her eyebrows drawn together, she looked over at Mebuki, "they've only been together for a month."

Mebuki raised her eyebrow, "what? Sakura told me that they were together when she came to Konoha several weeks ago."

Temari raised her eyebrow, "huh, well, that's news to us, seeing as Gaara only announced that they got together a few weeks ago."

Mebuki turned her attention back to Sakura, anger contorting her features, "You lied to me," she seethed.

Sakura shook her head, "I wasn't exactly lying, mother."

"Really?" Mebuki scoffed, "because I recall you telling me months ago that you had a boyfriend, and here I am now finding out that you've actually only been with him for over a month?"

"Mum, I-

"Don't you mum me," Mebuki narrowed her eyes at her, before turning her heated gaze at Gaara, "and you, what are your plans now? Hmm? You've got her pregnant, what's next? Was this even planned?"

"This isn't just on Gaara," Temari added annoyedly, her heated gaze on Sakura.

"You're right," Mebuki added and looked towards Sakura, "was this pregnancy planned?"

Sakura looked at her mum head on, blinking away the tears that filled her eyes. "No, it wasn't."

Mebuki scoffed, "and here I thought that you'd have more sense being a doctor, but no."

Sakura clenched her teeth tightly, the vein in her temple throbbing with annoyance, her eyes starting to fill with tears against the accusations thrown at her, but she refused to let them fall, refused to back down.

Gaara looked over at Sakura, her eyes filling with tears, but she didn't let them fall. He was in awe of her, watching her not back down against the accusations thrown at them. He placed his hand on hers again, squeezing it gently before he looked at everyone else and sighed, "I had hoped to do this properly, but it seems now is the perfect time."

"Do what?" Temari asked, her eyebrows furrowed together, her gaze jumping between Sakura and Gaara, "I hope it's nothing stupid."

Gaara ignored Temari's comments and reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small black box and turned to face Sakura and smiled at her, "Sakura, from the moment I met you, I knew there was something special about you, something that called to me," his smile widening slightly, "and since meeting you, I feel like I finally have something to look forward to, someone to share my life with, and I can't think of anyone better."

He opened the box for Sakura, letting her see the beautiful ring inside. A gold band, encrusted with small white diamonds, circling the large pink diamond in the middle.

"Sakura, I can't wait to start a family with you," he looked up at her, finding her crying. He took a deep breath, worried that he had made the wrong decision, that proposing to her in front of their family was the wrong thing to do. Slowly, he let out the breath and placed the box down and placed his hands on her cheeks, wiping away at the tears, "Sakura, beautiful, please don't cry. I'm sorry," he whispered to her.

Sakura chocked on a sob and wiped at her eyes, "these are happy tears," she laughed, grabbing the tissue and wiping at her face, "plus, it doesn't help that I am so hormonal," she added in a whisper.

Gaara looked at her, hope slowly filling his chest, taking over the worried feelings that had filled him. He smiled at her, and moved closer to her and kissed her forehead, his fingers caressing her cheeks. "What do you say to being with me?" he whispered to her.

Sakura smiled, remembering him saying the same words weeks ago, "I am with you," she whispered through her tears.

Gaara chuckled lightly, relief flooding him, "is that a yes to marrying me?"

"Yes," Sakura nodded, fresh tears falling down her face.

Gaara wanted to pull her towards him, to kiss her senseless, to show her just how happy she had made him with a simple yes. Instead, picked up the box and carefully removed the ring, he took Sakura's left hand and slid the ring onto her ring finger and kissed her hand before kissing her forehead.

The room around them exploded with cheer and claps, making Sakura jump. She looked around her, finding nearly all the guests and wait staff clapping and cheering them on. Sakura smiled at them all, a small blush slowly filling her cheeks.

She looked back at Gaara and smiled wider, "I love you," she leaned over and kissed him gently.

"I love you too, beautiful," Gaara said against her lips.

"Well, I wasn't expecting that," Temari said, looking at Gaara with a narrowed gaze.

Gaara looked over at her, "this is what I want," he said and waited for her to challenge him.

Temari took a deep breath and slowly let it out before forcing herself to smile, "fine."

"I knew you two were made for each other," Kankuro said, he winked at them, before adding, "honestly, this is one of the weirdest, most awkward dinner I have ever been to, but I am happy that I was here."

"You can say that again," Sakura huffed out and looked down at her hand, her lips pulling up in a wide smile before looking up at Gaara, "I really do love you."

Gaara placed his arm around Sakura and kissed her forehead, "I love you too, my beautiful."

Sakura looked over at her parents, Kizashi had a shocked expression on his face, before he smiled wide at her, "this wasn't what I thought was going to happen."

Sakura looked over at her mother. Mebuki stared at them both before sighing deeply and forcing herself to smile, "it sure is an enlightening and eventful night."

Sakura refrained from rolling her eyes at the comment, her eyes falling on the ring again.

Kizashi stood up and walked over to Sakura and Gaara, he placed his hands on their shoulders, "I'm happy for you two," he smiled before adding, "I didn't think when I'd leave Suna, I'd have gained a son in law and a grandchild."

Sakura smiled wide at him, "surprise!"

Kizashi chuckled lightly and kissed the top of her head, before shaking Gaara's hand, "welcome to the family Gaara, I promise we don't always argue like this."

"Yeah right," Sakura scoffed at her dad's words.

"Well, let's order some food and celebrate this amazing news," Kizashi stood up and turned to the nearest wait staff, "a bottle of champagne and six glasses."

"Yes sir," the waiter smiled at him and walked off, while Kizashi took his seat between Temari and his wife.

Minutes later, the waiter was back with the bottle and glasses, "here you go," he smiled and looked over at Gaara and Sakura, "congratulations."

"Thank you," they both said, smiling.

"Do you know what you'd like to eat, or do you need more time?"

"I'm starving," Kankuro added, "all this drama has left me famished," he grinned at the waiter before looking over at Gaara, "I know what I want, and Gaara already has what he wants," he winked at him a wide grin spreading across his lips.

Gaara shook his head, "shut up Kankuro."

With their food ordered, Mebuki looked at Sakura, "You'll be getting married In Konoha and have the baby there."

Sakura raised an eyebrow, "I have just got engaged mum, at least let Gaara and me discuss what we both want first before you go off and make plans for us."

"Someone has to start the ball rolling," Mebuki said.

Sakura rolled her eyes, "as for the baby, I get to decide where I want to give birth."

"And that should be in Konoha, in your home town."

Sakura clenched her teeth and shut her eyes and counted to ten. She took a deep breath through her nose and slowly letting it out. She opened her eyes and looked at her mother, "when Gaara and I have decided, we will let you know."

Mebuki was about to say something, when Kizashi spoke up. "My darling, let Sakura make her own decisions," he smiled at her before looking at Sakura, "she's old enough to know what is right for her and her family."

"Thank you, dad," Sakura beamed at him.

Kankuro leant towards Gaara, "and here I thought our family was the crazy one," he whispered.

Gaara chuckled lightly.

Their food finally arrived, both Sakura and Gaara sighed with relief at the sight. The group ate their dinner in an awkward silence, which suited Sakura just fine. At least now no one was talking about the baby or the future wedding.

With their dinner over and paid for, the group made their way out of the restaurant.

"It was wonderful meeting you Gaara," Kizashi smiled holding out his hand, "I really am happy for both of you. You make a very beautiful couple."

Gaara smiled and shook his hand, "thank you, Mr. Haruno."

"No more Mr. Haruno, call me Kizashi."

Gaara nodded, "okay, Kizashi."

Kizashi turned to Sakura, "can I have your car keys?"

"Why?" Sakura asked as she fished for them in her bag.

"I'll drive back to your house, that way, you and Gaara get to spend some time together without your mother bearing down on you two."

Sakura grinned wide, "you are the best," she placed the keys in her father's hand before hugging him, "I love you so much dad."

"I love you too," he returned the hug and kissed the top of her head. He turned to face Mebuki and smiled, "let's go darling."

Mebuki nodded and looked towards Gaara and Sakura, she smiled at them, "it's nice to see you settling down finally."

Sakura nodded, "thanks mum."

"It is all I have ever wanted for you, to find someone special and settle down, have a family," she smiled slightly wider, "and Gaara, I am pleased to have finally met you."

"Thank you, Mrs. Haruno, it was a pleasure to meet you too," Gaara smiled.

Mebuki chuckled, "no need for formalities now, we're family." She looked at Sakura, "hopefully, we will see you before we leave tomorrow morning."

Sakura sighed out, "yes mother, I will be home later. Don't wait up for me."

They said their goodbyes and walked towards Sakura's car, getting in and driving away.

Sakura turned to Gaara, "a pleasure to meet my mother?"

Gaara smiled, "it sort of was, I think."

Sakura laughed, "at least you survived, and the fact that you're still standing next to me is something."

"What do you mean?" he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer, closing the gap between them.

"That my mother didn't scare you away," Sakura smiled and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, her fingers stroking his hair.

"You've met my family, right?" Gaara smiled at her.

Sakura nodded, "maybe that's why we get on so much, we both have crazy families."

Temari walked towards them, "congratulations to you both," she smiled stiffly at them, "I'll see you around Sakura."

Sakura let go off Gaara and smiled at Temari, "yeah, see you around."

She looked at Gaara, "I guess I'll see you at home at some point."

Gaara nodded at her, "sure."

She turned and walked towards her car without a backward glance at them.

"Don't mind her," Kankuro said, "she's just jealous that she hasn't got someone." He looked at Sakura and smiled wide, "you know, if Gaara hadn't made his move, I was going to ask you out."

"Kankuro," Gaara warned.

"What? I'm just saying," he held up in hands in defence, "but really, I am happy for you two."

"Thank you, Kankuro," Sakura smiled at him.

"Kankuro, let's go!" Temari shouted from her car.

"I better go before she starts breathing fire," he laughed before adding, "I'll see you two around, and I promise not to walk in on you two when you're playing bedroom Olympics," he laughed and walked away.

Gaara groaned and closed his eyes, "I really am sorry about him."

Sakura laughed, "nothing to be sorry about," she leaned into him, "so, what would you like to do?"

"I can think of something," Gaara looked at her, his eyes bright. He wrapped his arms around her again, and moved his face closer to her neck. He kissed gently and slowly moved his mouth towards her ear.

Sakura let out a breath moan, her hands on his shoulders. With every one of his kisses, she felt desire pool low in her stomach as pleasure flooded her system, turning her into putty in his hands.

He gently nipped at her earlobe and whispered, "we should get dessert."

Sakura pulled back slightly and looked at him, before narrowing her gaze, "you are such a tease."

He laughed and kissed her forehead, "come on, let me treat my beautiful fiancé to her favourite dessert."

Sakura shook her head, her lips pulled up in a wide smile, "I love you."

"I love you too," he kissed her forehead again before taking her hand and leading her to his car and driving to the dessert parlour.
