Diagon Alley, Harry had fond memories of the place, despite being renovated after the war, the sense of magic and jovial air remained.

It's been 16 years since the war ended and so many things have changed for the better. That's not to say that people have forgotten the tragedy, but life was moving on. His friends had their own families, and so did Harry.

Things were moving and changing but there was always one constant in his life.

"Harry!" his old friend's voice boomed in the alley. Harry turned around and waved at him as he walked towards the bigger-than-life kind of man.

Hagrid.

Good ol' Hagrid.

From the moment Harry knew he was a wizard, to his first day in Hogwarts, to his victory over Voldemort, and when he started his own family, Hagrid was there. Harry couldn't imagine what life was without his friend.

"How are you? How's the family? Hagrid asked, and Harry muffled a reply.

"Hey there Hagrid, I'm fine, and so is the family, thanks for asking. How have you been?" asked Harry as he was engulfed in his friend's hug. It was always warm when Hagrid hugged him, it made Harry feel like he was a little boy all over again with how Hagrid enveloped him.

"Been well, been well! Been busy preparing for the upcoming school year, you know" Hagrid answered as he let go of the hug. Harry smiled, of course, he knew, his twins were starting this coming September.

"Yeah, I heard every year's been a challenge with the increasing number of students coming in" Harry added, knowing well that it wasn't just his kids about to enter, and his friends' kids— which were also his kids' friends— that meant McGonagall was going to have a field day for the years to come.

"Aye, Headmistress' been stressing about it" Hagrid confirmed as they entered the Leaky Cauldron and asked for two glasses of butterbeer for the both of them to Hannah who was manning the bar today.

"Harry, Hagrid! Good to see you both!" Hannah greeted them as she handed them their drinks. Harry chuckled before answering.

"You say that, as if we didn't meet each other after Alec and the twins managed to stuck Cyril up the tree" Harry quipped with Hagrid bellowing a laugh. It had been a norm for them to bring the kids together to play. Neville and Hannah with their kids, Alec, and Francine—Alec being the same age as his twins, and Francine who was the same age as his youngest, Lily— with Alec and James embodying mischief whenever they were together.

"Right, I'm just relieved Daphne didn't ban us right after that" Hannah joked which made Harry laugh too. Daphne was quite protective of the kids but also adored their friends which majority were their own godchildren.

"Daphne does that?" Hagrid innocently asked which made the three laugh even more. Harry wiped a stray tear from his eyes from laughing hard steadying himself before answering.

"No, she doesn't. She does reprimand me for getting the kids out of our sight" Harry said remembering the stern talking he got from his wife.

"Too true, don't worry Harry, Neville got the same" Hannah added before going and taking an order from another customer.

The two shared a comfortable silence, with Harry taking in the comfort of the bar and his friend being by his side. A couple of moments later, Harry could feel Hagrid looking at him. He turned his head in the direction of his friend and tilted his head.

Hagrid smiled and downed his butterbeer before looking back at Harry.

"I'm very happy for you, Harry" Hagrid gruffed and Harry's eyes widened before they settled back and gave his friend a thankful smile.

"It's all thanks to you, Hagrid" Harry thanked his friend. Truth be told, Harry always thought that it was because Hagrid found him that he achieved this happiness. Besides that, he had been a constant companion of his.

"I'm also thankful for you, Harry" Hagrid said giving cheers to Harry. He returned the act feeling content at the moment.

"By the way, Hagrid, my twins are starting their studies at Hogwarts this September" Harry casually said and chuckled as Hagrid muttered.

"Oh, Merlin have mercy" Harry was sure it was a joke but could sympathize with it since the twins were a bit handful at times. He and Daphne had almost been driven to their wit's end with the two.

How much more when those two start Hogwarts. Harry thought with an amused smile before facing his friend again.

"I was hoping you could look after them for me. Keep them out of trouble and the like" Harry asked. He was really hoping that the Hogwarts life of his kids wouldn't be the same as he is.

"You don't even have to ask that, Harry! I'll look after your kid along with Hermione's, and Ron's!" Hagrid answered enthusiastically and talked about the changes happening in Hogwarts. Harry listened intently to his friend, thankful to have him in his life.

"Uncle Hagrid!" James and Isabelle called simultaneously as they approached the big man with their father following from behind.

"Jay, Izzie, Harry! Great meeting you here!" Hagrid boomed as he engulfed the three into his hug. Hug chuckled feeling amazed at how Hagrid could really fit him in his hugs. The twins were now entering 4th year with their third child entering his first.

"How are you three? Finish with your shopping for school supplies?" Hagrid asked and the twins immediately answered while telling him the story of how their shopping went. Harry couldn't help but feel content, Hagrid was not just a friend, he was family— an uncle to his kids even. Outside their subjects and academic affairs, Hagrid was Uncle Hagrid but during their stay in Hogwarts and academic matters, Hagrid was Professor Hagrid.

"Cy's with mom, Uncle Hagrid" Izzie said as they followed the man walking along the streets of Diagon and stopping at an ice cream stand. Harry couldn't help but chuckle at how his kid's eyes lit up and grinned as Hagrid bought them some ice cream.

"Here's yours, Harry" Hagrid smiled as he handed Harry his own ice cream. Harry widened his eyes before getting the ice cream and thanked Hagrid for it. The twins were now on Hagrid's side, talking to him and joking. Hagrid had a way of making Harry feel like the little boy who was seeing the magic of the world for the first time, despite him being 37 already and a father of four.

"Harry, you ok?" Hagrid asked in concern facing him. Harry looked at Hagrid and the kids, they must've said something to him. Hagrid looked old, he now had wrinkles and his hair was starting to turn white. Somehow that gripped Harry in some sort of melancholy. He shook his head of his thoughts and bought back his attention to the present.

"Sorry, I was thinking about something. What is it?" Harry asked, he glanced at his kids and saw the inquisitive looks they were giving him which looked similar to their mother's. Hagrid on the other hand just smiled and patted his shoulder before continuing to walk together with the twins.

Harry fixed his mind on spending more time with his friend.

Harry's hurried footsteps carried him to the familiar halls of Hogwarts. The way to the hospital wing was, sadly, already tattooed on his mind so it was easy for him to navigate his way toward it. It was Hogsmeade Weekend, he had planned to visit Cy and Lily, who were now in their 6th and 4th year respectively. The twins graduated two years ago. It was going well, then Lily told him Hagrid went on an accident and was sent to the hospital wing. Cy supplied that one of the creatures got out of hand and almost attacked a student, but Hagrid saved them.

That was why he was on his way to the hospital wing. After spending time with his kids, he immediately went to Hogwarts to see if Hagrid was faring well. He met the new matron of the hospital wing and asked for Hagrid.

"Over here, Mr. Potter, he's fine but I asked him to rest for a while to make sure the wounds would heal" the matron answered. Harry saw Hagrid laying on an enlarged hospital bed with a bandaged arm.

"Thank you, Madame Lowrey" Harry thanked the matron before heading to his friend.

"Hagrid" Harry called out to his friend and walked towards his bed. Hagrid looked at Harry and gave him a smile, he was about to wave with his good arm but hissed, Harry immediately sprung to action and helped Hagrid to sit comfortably on the bed.

"Harry, what gives the visit?" he asked giving him a smile. Harry tried to return the same smile with joviality but probably failed since Hagrid was looking at him funnily.

"I heard you got attacked by a blast-ended skrewt?" Harry asked grabbing a chair and sitting down.

"Aye, the one got out of hand and almost attacked a student" Hagrid answered looking somber, probably because the skrewt got killed after.

"Yeah, but you saved them so, good job professor," Harry said and feeling better once he saw the proud look on Hagrid's face, "How's the arm?" he continued.

"Well, you know, a bit sore but well, quite lucky if I say" Hagrid grinned carefully showing his bandaged arm.

"I can't believe I'm saying this" Harry muttered under his breath before continuing, "You have to be careful next time Hagrid, who knows what would happen next" Harry could clearly see that Hagrid was now looking at the part his age.

It was part of life, people come and then they go. That was how things were supposed to happen. Magicals had longer life spans compared to those muggles, but it ultimately meets their end. Even Voldemort who made those notorious things meet his end.

But Merlin be damned, the thought of Hagrid passing was just too much for Harry. It would break him. He had already lost most of the people who he looked up to, people who took care of him, people who protected him. People who were like a parent figure to him.

"I am careful! You wouldn't survive being a groundskeeper if you weren't careful, Harry" Hagrid warned, his tone reminding Harry of the tone he used to the kids before. He looked at Hagrid and was exasperated.

"Hagrid, you're getting old" Harry muttered looking at his friend. Hagrid looked at him like he was out of his mind before bellowing a hearty laugh.

"I'm a half-giant, Harry! I'm far from old" Hagrid laughed more, and Harry ducked his head from embarrassment.

"I'm just concerned for you" Harry stated looking at Hagrid who now had a smile on his face, his smile line being prominent.

"Aye, I appreciate it, thank you" Hagrid replied in a kind tone. Harry smiled and talked with Hagrid more. He had made it to himself to hang out with Hagrid every once in a while. His kids would even join them, together with Daphne.

"You know, Harry, your kinds were here earlier and accompanied me before they went for their Hogsmeade weekend. Good kids, just like you" Hagrid said with a smile as he leaned on the headrest of his bed.

Harry smiled at that, knowing once the news got to James and Isabelle, the two would send Hagrid mail or a care package for him. The two continued to talk, till the Matron reminded Harry that Hagrid needed his rest.

"Thanks for visiting again, Harry" Hagrid said, and Harry smiled at him and nodded as he wore his outer coat.

"It's no problem, Hagrid" Harry replied looking at his friend.

"You know, Hogwarts won't be the same if you're not here" Harry blurted as he looked at his friend. He couldn't imagine the school without Hagrid, couldn't fathom the thought of not seeing his jovial disposition and being able to share a butterbeer or tea with him.

Hagrid gave him a smile as he looked up and closed his eyes to take a breath before looking back at him.

"I'll always be here, Harry" Hagrid said, and Harry couldn't help but smile.

Yeah, Hagrid will always be here.
