Chapter 3

A Clue for Usagi

Usagi, Crashopper, and Mirko hopped to the police station to hear what the police found about the criminal gang with the red serpent tattoos.

When they arrived at the police station, the investigators explained to them.

"Really? You guys found the place where they hang out?!" Mirko said, looking excited.

"Mirko-san, please calm down. We're supposed to be professional," Crashopper reminded her.

"Um, yes, that's right," the investigator replied, a bit surprised. "Ah-hem! Look at here."

The police investigator showed the whiteboard with the city's map.

"Over the past months, we searched through map after map, and we determined that the Red Serpent Gang's most likely location is here," said the investigator as he pointed to the red circle on the map. "According to our undercover agent, there is a secret nightclub. A bunch of teenagers and young adults gathered there, but apparently, there is a secret entranceway to the Red Serpent's hideout," explained the investigator.

"And that's where we will bust them up!" Mirko exclaimed.

"Mirko-san!" Crashopper yelled before he changed his focus to the investigator. "Thank you very much, sir. What is the plan?"

"We plan to infiltrate the nightclub. We need someone to get in and find the secret entranceway," the investigator said.

"I see…" Crashopper pondered. "Well, it can't be either me or Mirko."

"Huh? Why not?! We can kick their asses so easily!" Mirko argued.

"That's not what I mean. What I mean is that we are recognizable. So somebody, who isn't a member of the Red Serpent Gang, can recognize us very easily."

"What about her?" Investigator asked, all eyeing Usagi.

"Huh?" Usagi looked left and right, noticing they were only looking at her. "Me?"

"That's dangerous, but it is possible," Crashopper said, looking agreeable. "What do you think, Usagi? Can you handle it?"

"Um, yeah! Of course! That's why I am trained to do at UA High!" Usagi declared

"Hold on a second!" Mirko jumped. "We… We can't let her do it!"

"Huh?" Usagi looked confused.

"Mirko-san, I know it sounds perilous, but Usagi is a right fit. People will think she is just a regular young girl who wants to party and stuff," Crashopper persuaded.

"Plus, my fellow officers can keep an eye on her as we have multiple undercover agents at the nightclub to be on standby. I know it is asking a lot, but we need this girl to help us," the investigator added.

Mirko turned away and thought to herself. Then, she glanced at Usagi, which spooked her a bit and made her look worried.

Mirko sighed. "Fine, but the moment things may go south, I am busting in. Got it!"

Usagi smiled. "Thank you, Mom!"

"Eh?!" Mirko gasped.

Everyone looked confused, and Usagi realized what she had said. "Oh! Ah, I mean! Thank you, Mirko! I won't let you down!"

Crashopper looked silently between surprised Mirko and Usagi, pretending to be innocent.

Later that Night –

Knock. Knock.

A slide opened, revealing two serious-looking eyes. The eyes looked at who had knocked on the door.

There were four people. Two of them were guys, one woman and one girl.

The girl wore a black leather jacket, boots, a choke bracelet with spike, and a black cap.

"Yo!" Usagi greeted in her disguise.

The eyes looked a bit surprised as they slid closed. The sound of a lock was heard as the metal door creakily opened.

"Come in and enjoy your stay," a bodyguard said, allowing the group in.

Usagi and three undercover police agents went inside, which led downstairs.

As they descended downstairs, they heard loud music playing. Once they reached the floor, Usagi gasped.

"HOLY CARROT!" Usagi gasped.

People were dancing, banging their heads, drinking, and laughing. The DJ, who looked like a familiar older man with sunglasses, was mixing the tape and fist-bumping in the air.

"Party Rock!" Stan Lee yelled as the DJ.

Usagi was mesmerized and impressed with the setup of the nightclub. She also felt bad that if things go well, they may ruin the innocent people's fun, but it can't be helped. She had a job to do, or rather an internship to do. Plus, if she does well in this mission, she could probably get a chance to ask Mirko if she knows anything about her mother.

"Hey, Usagi!" Usagi heard a voice through her communicator.

"Yes, Crashopper?" Usagi asked.

"Are you in?" He asked.

Crashopper, Mirko, and other police officers were outside the nightclub, watching far from a safe distance but on standby.

"Yup! I am in," Usagi replied.

"OK. Cool. Remember that we must find the people with the red serpent tattoo. Usually, they have it on their arms. So, find the people with the right tattoos," Crashopper explained.

Suddenly, Mirko grabbed the microphone. "But whatever you do, don't get caught! Just blend it while searching, OK?"

"Got it! I will do just that!" Usagi replied. "Yo, what's up! I am a bad bunny, a runaway from home!"

Usagi's mic wasn't muted at the time, so they heard everything she was saying. All the officers, Crashopper, and Mirko, shrugged, sighed, or sweat-dropped.

The bunny girl looked around. So far, there have been no people with red serpent tattoos. But then, she noticed some people with tattoos but nothing that looked like a red serpent.

'Hmmm… I don't see anyone with a red serpent for a tattoo so far,' Usagi wondered. 'Also, it's probably not a good idea to ask someone if they have one, obviously.'

Usagi took a short break at the counter when the bartender noticed her.

"What can I get you, young?" asked the bartender.

"Oh, um, I don't drink. Do you have anything non-alcoholic, like carrot juice?" she asked, which caused the serious-looking bartender a questionable glare.

"Ah, give me a carrot juice 'cause I'm bad!" Usagi pretends to sound harsh.

The bartender rolled his eyes. "One juice of carrot, coming right up."

She received her cup of carrot juice. It even came with a straw. "Thanks," Usagi said as she took a sip of her carrot juice.

While she was sitting, she noticed one man in a formal outfit. The man looked around his 40, wearing a gray suit with a black necktie, black shoes, and eyeglasses. He also had a brown suitcase. That was when another person approached the man in the business suit.

"Thank you for waiting." Then, Usagi heard the second person's voice, who was a male. "The boss is waiting. Please follow me."

'The boss? That must mean the boss of the gang!' Usagi thought.

She saw the two men walking away. She quickly drank all of her carrot juice, left some money on the counter, and decided to follow the two men.

She called Crashopper. "Crashopper, Mirko, I think I found something!"

"What is it, Pyon-Pyon?" Crashopper asked.

"I saw or rather overheard two men talking, and one of them mentioned the boss."

"The boss?" Mirko repeated.

"I think they were referring to the gang's boss, and one of them is bringing the other guy in a business suit to meet the boss. So I am going to follow them!" Usagi stated.

"OK. Be careful. Remember that you only need to find the entranceway," Crashopper reminded her.

"Got it!" Usagi agreed as she continued following the two men.

As she did, it led to the kitchen, but a big, tall man guarded it.

'Crap! They went into the kitchen, but it was guarded. They will see me if I try to go through!' Usagi complained. 'Hmmm, maybe if I make some kind of distraction, I can sneak in.'

As she looked around, she noticed something else. "I got it!" she thought.

Usagi found an empty food tray on a cart. So she hid inside the cart under the empty food tray and waited a bit. Then, she noticed she was moving.

'Perfect! Man, this is so exciting! It's like I'm in a video game! I wonder if Maruto played some kind of game similar to this situation,' Usagi pondered as she passed the guard without him noticing her.

She entered the kitchen, and eventually, she stopped. She peeked out to take a look, and there was no one around.

"OK. I am in," she said as she got out.

Usagi looked around the kitchen. It seemed to look like an ordinary kitchen so far.

"Hey, Usagi." She got a call from Crashopper. "Where are you right now? Are you still following the two men?"

"Well, I saw them going into the kitchen, and now I am in the kitchen, but I don't see the men. So far, it looks like a normal kitchen to me," Usagi said, looking around.

"There must be a secret entranceway," the lead investigator spoke up. "There could be a hidden switch or something."

"You heard that pipsqueak? Find the hidden switch and get the hell out of there. We will handle it from here once you find the secret entranceway," Mirko said.

"Roger, roger," Usagi replied as she muted herself.

'Umm, a secret switch. If I was a switch, would I be hidden?' Usagi asked herself as she searched every little corner of the kitchen, including the inside of the jar.

Suddenly, she heard a noise but quickly found out it was her stomach.

"Man, I'm feeling hungry. I wonder if I can grab something a bite to eat around here," Usagi talked to herself. She quickly found a box of bread. "Oh! I guess bread will be fine."

As she took out the box of bread from the shelf, the box was empty, but she noticed a secret red button.

"What the? Is this?" She pressed the red button, which caused the shelf to open like a door, and what appeared in front of her was the hallway.

"Holy Carrot!" She exclaimed but quickly covered her mouth as she looked back and forth.

She called Crashopper and Mirko. "Crashopper, Mirko, I did it! I found the secret entranceway!"

"Really?" Crashopper asked. "Then, gah!"

Mirko pushed her sidekick aside in the background as it made noises. "Good job, pipsqueak. Now, get the hell out of there and come back outside. We will take care of things here."

"OK!" Usagi agreed, but then suddenly, something hit her from behind her.

"A!" Usagi got hit the floor and lost consciousness.

"Pipsqueak? Pyon-Pyon! Usagi! What happened?" Mirko shouted. "Hey, could you hear me?!"

Back in the kitchen, the mysterious attacker looked over the fainted Usagi with glaring red eyes.

Hey guys! I am back after several months!

Sorry for not being active here as much. You see, the reason why is that I've been been with being a Vtuber right now. IF you don't know what that is, it stands for "Virtual YouTuber", but the meaning has evolved over time and generally, most people accept it as "someone who streams and make contents with virtual avatar instead of their real-life face". That's the general definition of Vtuber (in my own word).

I've been working on this fanfic at my YT channel when I do a fanfic writing stream, and it's going well.

The next chapter will be up soon!

Again, thank you for waiting patiently and I hope that there will be more fanfic update in the future :)
