Hey A/all. This is chapter forty of the new and improved The Black Heir: The Saga Begins. It was originally just a rewrite of my The Black Heir: First Year, but it has deviated so much from how that one used to be that it's now a new story all on its own, though the basic premise is the same. This story is once more complete! And is a whopping 48 chapters long, lots was added haha. Updates should be weekly unless something drastic happens.
Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter, Evelyn Celeste Black is my own original character, but all other recognisable characters belong to J K Rowling, I just like to use them to do my bidding.
Summary: What happens when the mistreated daughter of Sirius Black is eligible for her first year at Hogwarts at the same time as her father's escape from Azkaban and she is reunited with Harry Potter. The summer before Harry's third year might just turn out to be just as much of an adventure as his years at Hogwarts. (Eventual HarryXGinny, NevilleXOC, and RonXLuna)
Warning: This story does contain spanking, but it is not the focus, still if you don't like it don't read it.
A huge, huge thank you to my amazing Beta who has been an amazing support in writing this. Yes, I am trying my hardest to turn her into a Harry Potter Fan. Without her support and guidance, you probably wouldn't be getting this story for a good few years.

Now that all of Harry's essays were up to par, in the mornings Remus and Sirius had Harry work on how much power he pushed into his spells for a couple hours, and Evie work on controlling how much magic she saw and how deep she read into auras. Both improved daily and finally Harry had remastered all the spells he'd already known, and his Dad and second guardian had even shown him a few new spells to make sure he could still control how much power he put into them. Evie could now keep most magical outbursts into the background. She couldn't quite turn it off, and they were beginning to think it was likely impossible for her to turn it off, but she could see Harry's magical explosions and not focus on them.
Sirius and Remus had taken both kids back down to the ward stone, but it was still too bright for Evie, so only Harry made recurring trips with Sirius to learn how to connect with the wards. The first time had been extremely overwhelming for Harry, but the next time it was slightly easier as he knew what to expect, it was still far too much, but his Dad assured him it would get easier with time.
Finally, the day had arrived that Sirius and Arthur had agreed upon to meet and discuss how they were going to handle the betrothal. Sirius wanted to work with Arthur, he was a good man, and he knew Ginny was extremely loved. It was Molly he was concerned about, no one could deny she loved her kids, but she was extremely overprotective of them, to the point of being quite controlling. He wasn't sure how she was going to feel about him insisting on teaching Ginny certain things, especially as Ginny had already told them it was stuff Molly didn't want them learning and Evie was having to hide her letters behind a password.
Evie wanted to go to the Burrow with her Dad, she and Ginny wrote to each other all the time, but it wasn't as good as actually seeing her best friend… her first friend. She couldn't yet make herself ask for something she wanted though, she could barely make herself ask for things she needed, most of the time she still didn't!
Sirius could tell Evie wanted to come with him, part of him felt like he should give in and invite Evie along, but he wanted her to ask. She had to learn she was allowed to ask for things she needed and wanted. It would be a hard lesson to learn, but he promised himself once he came back, he would talk to her about it. He'd also try and arrange for Ginny to come over before they went back to Hogwarts, he was sure Arthur would agree, but if not, he'd call it a needed tutoring session. "I'll be back shortly," he bid. Feeling like a heel as he knew just how much Evie wanted to come, making a mental promise to himself to extract the promise of a visit to make up for it, he went through the Floo to the Burrow.
Sirius stepped out of the Floo and wondered for a second if he's entered the wrong house! It sounded like he'd arrived in the middle of a warzone. Molly was screaming, Ginny was crying and shouting back, and Arthur trying to maintain order but being completely ignored.
"You will give that ring to me right now Ginevra Molly! Charlie is the heir not you!" Molly shrieked.
"It chose me Mother! Why can't you just accept that!" Ginny yelled back.
"Molly Weasley you will stop this right now! Ginevra you will not talk to your mother like that!" Arthur insisted.
Sirius could see Arthur wasn't having much luck so let out a loud noisemaker with his wand. "I take it the Prewett Heir ring has presented itself to Ginny?" He asked once everyone looked at him.
"No! No! No! No! No! Get out of my house! You are not welcome here! It's you that's done this! Filled her head with things she doesn't need to know! I won't allow it anymore! You will stay away from my daughter!" Molly shrieked.
"Molly! That is enough! Sirius, you, Remus, Harry, and Evie will always be…" Arthur started.
"No, they will not! I will not have him in my house, nor will Harry be welcome here whilst he calls him father!" Molly yelled letting her infamous temper run away with her. "Ginny, I forbid you…"
Arthur, who had never ever had to turn his wand on his wife hit her with a Petrificus Totalus, "I'm sorry Molly, but I cannot allow you to do this. Sirius, if I could impose upon your hospitality and you could perhaps take Ginny to stay with you for a couple days?"
Sirius could see how much this was costing the proud family man and nodded. "Come on Red, can you go pack a bag? I know Evie will be thrilled to see you," he murmured. "We'll take good care of her Arthur, please don't hesitate to send an owl or even Floo call us. Let me know when you wish to rearrange this meeting. Perhaps you can come over to Potter Manor for it instead though?"
Arthur nodded, "that sounds good," he agreed tiredly.
Ginny scrubbed her hand across her face and, shooting her mother a baleful look, she fled up the stairs to her room. She grabbed the weightless and double expanded bag Sirius had bought her for school and enough clothes to last until they went to Hogwarts. At the moment she was rather hoping she wouldn't have to come home for anything other than collecting her trunk just before the start of term. She couldn't understand why her Mum was being like she was, finally grabbing her firebolt, she didn't trust her brothers not to use it if it was in the broom shed, scooping up Pebbles, and leaving her room. She saw Fred and George in the hallway and offered them a weak smile.
Fred and George went over to their sister, "you know what Mum's like when she gets a bee in her bonnet. She'll scream and shout and eventually Dad will talk her down. We think you're a great Heir Prewett… so long as you don't get a big head like our Big Head Boy Percy," they told her using their twin speak.
Ginny was able to give a proper smile this time, "oh don't worry I'll only make you bow and kiss my feet once a day," she chuckled swiping away a few traitorous tears.
"Ahh we've taught her so well Forge," one of the twins sighed.
"Indeed, we have Gred, indeed we have," the other joined.
Ginny rolled her eyes, "I better get down there… I'll see you soon." She leaned forward and hugged both her brothers tightly. "Say bye to Ron, Hermione and Percy for me," she murmured.
"Sure, thing little sis, say hi to Evie and Harry for us!" They requested.
"I will," Ginny agreed. She turned and hurried down the stairs then, re-joining Sirius and her Dad.
Arthur forced a smile on his face when Ginny came back, broom slung over her shoulder and school bag filled with clothes, with her pet's head poking out of it. "I'll see you soon Sparkplug, promise," he told her.
"Thank you, Daddy," Ginny sniffled.
"Your Mum loves you Ginny, you know that. It's just hard for her to admit you're growing up and not a little girl anymore," Arthur tried to explain.
Ginny looked away, not wanting to talk about her Mum right now.
Sirius placed a comforting hand on the young witch's shoulder, "Floo address is Potter Manor, you're already keyed into the wards," he told her, "leave your broom, I'll bring it through with me."
Ginny handed her broom to Sirius; it would be easier to Floo without it. "Bye Daddy!" She called. She left quickly through the Floo, wanting to get away from her Mum.
Arthur sighed sadly and pinched the bridge of his nose, "again thank you Sirius, sorry you had to see this. If I could also ask that you teach Ginny what she needs to know about being an Heir? The Prewett House is a Most Ancient one, even if it's lost its Noble status," he requested
Sirius agreed easily, "Of course I'll be happy to instruct her, I'm doing the same for Harry and Evie and will continue those lessons once we get to Hogwarts, I was going to ask to include Ginny in the lessons anyway. Don't worry about the family drama, it happens. I'm sure in future Evie or Harry will end up here begging you to let them stay a few nights."
"Thank you, Sirius. Harry and Evie will always be welcome here, by everyone," Arthur insisted.
Sirius nodded before following Ginny and Flooing back to Potter Manor.
Ginny was used to Floo travel so landed without difficulty.
Remus heard the Floo chime and looked up from where he was helping Harry and Evie work on the five-thousand-piece magical puzzle of a quidditch match. He wasn't worried as only those whose names were written in the book could enter the Manor, even by Floo, however he wasn't expecting Sirius back so soon. "Wait here, I'm going to see who that is," he told Harry and Evie calmly.
Remus arrived in the hall just as Sirius came out of the Floo after Ginny. "Ginny, this is a pleasant surprise, Evie will be delighted to see you as will Harry," he greeted.
"Harry, Evie," Sirius called.
Harry and Evie had been prepared to stay where they were, but when their Dad called them, they were up in a flash, hurrying to the hall. Evie was the first to spot Ginny, "Ginny!" She squealed and ran to her friend.
Harry was confused but definitely not unhappy, he looked at his Dad wondering why he'd bought Ginny back with him.
"Ginny's going to be staying with us for a couple days whilst her parents sort out some things," Sirius explained. "Evie, would you like to show her to your room, so long as you're happy to share?" He asked.
Evie nodded, "come on." She led upstairs and to her room, pulling Ginny over to sit on her bed and looking at her seriously, "what's wrong?" She asked concerned. She could feel the sadness and anger almost radiating out from her best friend, she had to force herself not to look into Ginny's aura to read what happened, though the desire to help anyway she could made her want to.
Ginny let Evie led her up to her room and sat down on her bed. She let out a defeated sigh and showed Evie her hand which now held the Prewett Heir Ring.
"Oh, the Ring showed itself to you? That's amazing, but your parents aren't happy?" Evie probed.
Ginny told Evie about everything that had happened, since she'd woken up with the ring on her finger. "I'm just so fed up with her treating me like a little kid Evie. Dad was just so happy for me and proud, but then Mum just had to ruin it all," she sniffled as tears welled up again.
Evie was a bit at a loss, she didn't know how to comfort her friend or what to say to her. "I'm sorry," she told her softly.
Ginny gave her friend a watery smile and giggled as Pebbles wiggled out of her bag and onto her lap, climbing up her chest and settling on her shoulder nuzzling her cheek.
Not to be outdone, Nyx pounced onto her little witch's lap and climbed up onto her shoulder. The two felines eyed each other before deciding to accept the others presence and settled on soothing their witches.
Evie giggled and reached up to stroke Nyx under the chin. "Well, you can stay here as long as you want," she promised.
Sirius knocked lightly on Evie's doorframe before entering the open room, "I've got two options for you girls, we can add another bed in here for you Ginny, or I can expand your bed Evie and you can share, or you can share the bed as it is," he offered.
Evie and Ginny shared a look, "I don't mind," Ginny told Evie.
"Share as it is?" Evie asked.
Ginny grinned and nodded, "sure," she agreed easily.
Sirius chuckled, "well that settles that, why don't you help Ginny unpack her things then come down and join us working on the puzzle? Ginny your Dad has asked that I teach you about being an Heir to a Most Ancient House, so you'll be joining Harry and Evie in their lessons whilst you're here and then once we're back at Hogwarts."
Ginny gave Sirius a grateful smile, "thank you Uncle Padfoot."
Sirius laughed and ruffled the girl's hair, "don't take too long. Oh if you notice anything you're missing let me know and we can send an elf to get it," he grinned and winked before he left them in peace.
Evie and Ginny made short work of unpacking Ginny and settling her into Evie's room before they both headed back down and joined Sirius, Remus, and Harry working on the puzzle.
