Summary: Max thinks about memories that are important to her.
Disclaimer: I don't own any characters.
Max looked at the time. She had about half an hour before she got picked up.
She flipped to the next page.
Memories that are Important to Me
In English, her teacher said that experiences are different then memories.
For once, Max fully agreed with a teacher.
Experiences you learn from, remembering the big, vague picture.
Memories you remember every little detail.
Max decided to skip California in this one, since her best memories were in Hawkins.
Snow BallThis was a no brainer; this was the memory that she picked to fight Vecna with.
The beautiful gym, the awkward teenagers, Lucas.
He had done a horrible job at asking her to dance.
She had kissed him.
They danced the rest of the night.
The Snow Ball was when Max found her first true love.
First "Date" with LucasIt was the first time they had hung out after the Snow Ball.
Lucas always claimed it was their first date, but Max shot down the idea immediately.
She had just started calling it their first date a while ago.
It wasn't much, just a trip to the arcade and some fries and milkshake at the diner.
But Max was smiling and laughing the whole time.
So was Lucas, rambling about DND almost the whole time.
Max's first date was when she learned how to laugh and smile genuinely.
Girl's Day with ElThat was the day El had broken up with Mike, spending the whole day with Max.
She was so happy that day.
They ran around the mall, buying a bunch of new clothes for El, some sunglasses for Max.
She remembered giggling the whole time.
Max's girl's day with El was the day the two girls became best friends.
Sauna TestIt still haunts her to this day.
Billy begging at one moment, then becoming creepily calm the next.
Punching through the glass window, almost knocking out Max.
She saw him again, in her last run in with Vecna.
The sauna test was the day she saw the Mind Flayer take over Billy.
Billy's DeathShe hated this memory with all her heart.
She hated that she remembered all of the details.
The howl he let out when he was struck.
The big black hole in his chest, black blood trailing all over his body.
The small, "I'm sorry." he had mumbled out.
It made her wonder what he was sorry for.
The moment Billy died; Max's world flipped upside down.
Vecna's AttacksShe remembered it vividly.
The red clouds, the staircase, the poles she almost suffocated on, the pools of blood she fell in, the light at the end of the tunnel she ran to.
The Creel House, the way Lucas's eye turned chilling, running with nowhere to go, the Upside-Down version of the Snow Ball, how El saved her.
Running Up that Hill pounding in her ears, Lucas's terrible voice singing.
Snapping out of it, shivers running down her body.
Anytime Vecna attacked, Max felt fear she never felt before.
Waking up from ComaLucas was right there when she woke up.
When she did, she was confused and disoriented.
Lucas assured her everything was alright.
Soon after, El came in, sobs already wracking body, leading Max to start sobbing.
Everyone came in after that, all crying and hugging Max.
They all told her their versions of the final battle.
The day Max woke up, she started never to underestimate waking up again.
Max had so many memories good and bad that wasn't on the paper, but these were the most important memories.
They were the ones that haunted her every day and the ones that made her smile every day.
4 down, 2 to go.
AN: Hope you liked it! Next is Max's small moments that are important to her! Happy Birthday to Grace Van Dien! And Happy Birthday to Caleb McLaughlin two days later!
