Lena's POV
I waited somewhat anxiously for Kara to bring a copy of CATCO Magazine's latest issue. Swiveling towards the windows, I chuckled silently. I wonder if she'll notice the new construction. Hearing a knock and seeing my red string move, I stood. "Come in."
"Ms. Luthor," Jess began. "Kara Danvers is here to see you."
Finally! "Please, send her in. Would you make a note that Kara Danvers is allowed entrance right away whenever possible?"
"Yes, Ms. Luthor." Turning, Jess waved Kara inside. "Have a good day, Ms. Danvers."
"You too." Kara waited for my door to be closed before making her way towards the white leather couch. "So, I have it hot off the press." She paused, "well, it's not hot anymore."
"Have you read it yet?" I joined the nervous blonde on the couch. "It's good to see you. I know I've been busy lately."
"It's good to see you too." Her eyes focused behind me. "Is that…a new balcony?" Kara's head tilted. "That wasn't there before…"
"I had it installed in case Supergirl needed my assistance or a place to soak up some sun."
Meeting my gaze, Kara smiled. "Thank you. I really appreciate it."
"You're welcome. I'm toying around with some sketches for sun lamps, both red and yellow, along with a few other gadgets Supergirl might need. I wish there was an alloy or isotope that would counteract kryptonite."
"We don't see each other for four days and you get more done in that time than-" Her voice trailed. "Other…smart people…do in months."
My brow rose. "Clearly you were about to tell me something you weren't supposed to."
Smiling sheepishly, Kara shrugged. "I don't have clearance to tell you yet. I'm sure it'll happen though."
"Just tell your other boss that Supergirl has a Luthor in her corner. One who's a workaholic and loves to tinker with technology."
"I will." Pulling the magazine out of her bag, Kara held it up. "What do you think?"
Taking the offered magazine, I studied the cover. I knew that outfit would look good. Kara really enjoyed it. I love that burgundy blazer against a black shirt and slacks. Kara looks sexy in that black dress. I wonder if it's hers or her sister's. "You look gorgeous." Meeting Kara's gaze, I saw her eyes had darkened slightly. I know that look. She likes the cover also. "Kara?" I purred.
A whine-like noise came from the reporter's throat. Heat rushed to Kara's cheeks causing her to look away. "I…um…" Fidgeting with her glasses, Kara tried to string a sentence together.
Scooting closer, I took Kara's hand in mine. "Breathe. Anything you're thinking or feeling is perfectly reasonable."Pausing, I smirked. "I know you heard my heart rate increase during the photoshoot and just now."
Grinning, the Super spoke. "And I felt you staring while they were getting stuff set up." Trying to turn the tables, Kara narrowed her eyes. "What exactly were you thinking, Ms. Luthor?"
Taking Kara's chin between my thumb and pointer finger, I leaned forward to whisper an inch from her lips. "Nothing that can be discussed in my office during business hours, Ms. Danvers." Hearing the woman shudder, I chuckled darkly and kissed her cheek. Scooting a few inches away, I leaned against the cushions and waited.
Taking a few shaky breaths, Kara cleared her throat. "How, um, how are those red sun lamps coming along?"
"In due time. My priority is a yellow sun grenade type device that's pocket sized or can be kept in your suit or cape. Just to have on you at all times in case something happens and you need a dose of sunlight."
"Thank you." Glancing at the door, Kara pulled down her glasses for a moment. Pushing them back up her nose, she snuggled against my side. "That really means a lot to me."
Wrapping an arm around Kara's shoulders, I kissed her hair. "You're welcome. Once things are further along, I'll let you know. Let's see this article before you need to head back." Flipping to the article's page, we both chuckled.
National City's Newest Power Couple has arrived!
L-Corp's CEO, Lena Luthor, and CatCo's newest reporter, Kara Danvers, make their relationship known in an exclusive interview.
Reading through the article, it was clear that Cat took her time choosing each word. Every sentence was meticulously written and wasn't able to be skewed and used out of context to harm either of us. She may have given Kara a hard time for years but she clearly respects her. It's nice to have Cat Grant on our side. "She really cares about you."
"Everyone only sees the cutthroat tyrant who sits behind a desk. I see the woman who worked her way up and created a business. I've seen the softer side of Cat that not many people get to see. She pushed me a lot because she saw my potential."
"We all need a role model or have the desire to become one for others." Hearing my phone ring, I sighed. "Duty calls." Standing, I hugged the super. "Call me tonight if you can."
Leaning back, Kara smiled. "Okay. If it's late, I'll text before to see if you're still awake."
"I probably will be. Bye."
"Bye." Kara held onto my hand as long as she could before letting go.

Kara's POV
Making my nightly rounds, I flew over the lights of my city. It's so relaxing up here. I wish Lena enjoyed flying. I would love to show her this.
Listening for the businesswoman, her tone wasn't pleasant. She was upset and guarded as she talked to an older woman. Should I see what's wrong? She's not screaming or anything. Clicking my earpiece, I waited for Alex to respond.
"Everything alright, Supergirl?" Alex had her normal work tone still.
"I want sisterly advice. Whoever Lena is talking to right now, it's not the best. Should I go check or leave it be since she's not yelling?"
"Leave it be. I'll have another watch made for Lena. She'll press it when she needs assistance."
"Thanks, Alex."
"You're welcome. I'm turning in. Night."
"Night." Ending the call, I felt a familiar presence coming up behind me.
"Something on your mind, Little One?" Astra questioned as she joined me. "East side of town is clear."
"Someone is talking with Lena and it's bothering her. I'm not listening in on the conversation, just the tone."
"And you're worried?"
"A little bit." Hovering on my back, I sighed. "Is this what it's like to be in love? You worry about the other person but it's more than how you worry about friends? Like, you want to be around them and…" My voice trailed.
"And with them?" Astra offered. "I can never replace your mother, but I know we were just as close. You can come to me with these things."
"Thank you, Astra. I do want to be with Lena eventually. We're taking it slow for now since I don't want to hurt her. She is very anti-kryptonite so she's trying to create a red sun lamp. Lena's also tinkering with a pocket sized yellow sun grenade device that I can keep on me at all times."
"She gets more done in a week than the scientists and engineers at the D.E.O. can do in months." She paused. "I could possibly help her with some of those."
"The two of you would make a great team. She would flourish at the D.E.O. and be highly regarded if she lived on Krypton."
"While I'm not surprised, I'm glad she doesn't want to use kryptonite around you." Astra paused. "She really loves you, Little One. She may not fully realize it yet but the feelings are there."
Looking down to the string, I smiled. "I think I feel the same way."
"I know when the time comes, J'onn will bring her into the fold. Considering what the Luthor family has done in the past, it's taking time for him to trust her."
"That's understandable."
"How did Kal-El take this news?"
Scratching my head, a nervous laugh escaped my throat. "Uh…well at first. Until I told him who it was. Then he was a little concerned. But he saw how we acted around each other first hand when I went with him to interview her."
"That's to be expected considering his history with the family." Nodding, I enjoyed the wind in my face. "Are you heading home soon?"
"Yes, I was going to do one more round." After saying our goodbyes, I watched as Astra flew towards the apartment. The older woman is gone. Maybe I can say goodnight in person. Flying above L-Corp, I saw Lena on the new balcony. She had a glass of wine in her hand. "Evening, Ms. Luthor."
Looking up, Lena smiled. "Evening, Supergirl. Want to try landing on the new balcony?"
"Sure." Landing smoothly, I walked back and forth. "It's very nice."
"Would you like a glass of wine or a glass of water?"
"I don't drink and fly so water will do."
"Of course."
I followed Lena inside and took a seat on the couch. "Working late?" Taking the offered glass, I sipped the cool liquid. "Thanks."
"Yes. On the gadgets I spoke of and reports." Taking a seat next to me, Lena pulled a remote from her pocket and pressed a button. A low buzzing sound enveloped all corners of the room. "I'm sure you can hear that. Is it tolerable?"
"Yes." My brow creased. "What is that?"
"It keeps our conversations private. No listening device inside or outside of this office will be able to pick up what we talk about. Even the earpiece you wear. It was an all or nothing situation. If someone tries to listen, they will only hear the buzz. I created it so you would have a safe place to speak freely."
"That's helpful." My phone rang. It's J'onn. He's probably concerned that the earpiece frequency timed out. "I need to take this." Standing, Lena went to sit at her desk. "Everything is fine."
"Why did your earpiece go offline?"
"Lena created a device that keeps people from bugging her office or wherever the device is placed." Hearing a button click, I chuckled at the triumphant smirk coming from the businesswoman. "It should be working now."
"It is." He paused. "Why did she create such a device?"
"So I would have a place to speak freely. Be myself and not worry about what I say." I wish I had this when Max bugged Alex.
J'onn grumbled. "She would be a great asset to the D.E.O. if we were to bring her in."
"She would be, yes." Glancing over, warmth filled my chest seeing Lena hard at work. A slight crease between her eyebrows as she tapped a pencil on her desk.
"I'll think about it. Lena Luthor is smart. Having another brilliant mind on our side wouldn't be a bad thing."
"I agree. Is that all?"
"Yes."
Ending the call, I placed my phone on the coffee table. Soon Lena will know everything and I won't have to keep secrets from her. That will be nice. Walking over, I looked out the windows. "My other boss wants to meet you. Eventually work with you if possible. Do you think you would be open to the idea?"
Leaning back in her chair, Lena debated her answer. "Working for a government agency and signing over my hard work, I'd have to think about. However, creating things that keep you and your friends and family safe, I'm on board with."
She really does care about me. Stepping back, I leaned on the corner of the desk. "My aunt offered her assistance with any device you want to build that would help me."
"That would be nice. Especially since I can only research so much."
"Are you heading home soon?"
"Soon." Glancing at her watch, Lena yawned. "I'm glad you stopped by."
"I was doing my rounds and wanted to say goodnight."
"Well, I'm glad you did." Packing away papers, Lena gathered her things.
I followed towards the office door. "I guess this is goodnight since I have to go out that door." I pointed towards the balcony.
"Yes, we don't want anyone putting together who Supergirl really is." Stepping forward, Lena kissed me softly. Neither of us meant to deepen the kiss but I found myself pressed against the door with strong hands keeping my hips in place. I whimpered, feeling lips on my neck for the first time. "Lena…" I breathed. Snaking my arms around the brunette's waist, I pulled her against me. This feels amazing.
Chuckling darkly, Lena kissed back up my neck. "I really need to make those lamps. Your whimpers drive me mad." Capturing my lips again, Lena nipped my bottom lip before pulling away.
Shuddering, it took all I had to stay on my feet. "I can't agree more." Biting my lip, I realized how much heat had pooled in my stomach. I've never felt this before. I like it but it's so different.
"Is everything alright?" Lena's voice was tender. Cupping my cheek, she searched my eyes. "Kara?"
"I've never…felt this way before. My body is buzzing like when I've been in the sun all day but different. More…" I can't think of a word to describe it. "Primal? Maybe?" No. That's not it.
"Like energy is about to erupt coupled with a need that you can't pinpoint right away?"
"Yes! That's it."
Smiling, Lena tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "That's sexual tension. A cold shower or solo play can take care of it for now."
My brow creased. "Solo play?"
"Masterbation."
"Oh." I squealed. My face instantly matched my cape. I've only done that once. Ironically, after I had a sexy dream about Lena before we got together.
"Kara?" Lena grinned, reading the plethora of emotions crossing my face. "Is there something you want to tell me?"
"Not now or we may not leave." Realizing what I said, I covered my mouth. "I'm sorry. That came out wrong." I mumbled.
Taking hold of my hand, Lena brought it to my side. "Don't apologize. We're the only ones here. It's natural to feel like that when you're attracted to someone." She paused. "Are you going to be alright to fly home?"
"Yeah. The cool air will help."
"Alright. Goodnight, Supergirl."
"Night, Ms. Luthor."

Lena's POV
After washing my face, I changed and climbed into bed. It's hard to keep myself from going too far with Kara. A simple kiss can turn into having her pressed against a door in seconds. Remembering the blonde's moans and whimpers reignited the heat I felt in my office. I really need to design those lamps. I may have to guide Kara through a few things but I don't mind.
I breathed slowly feeling feather-like touches just below my navel. Hopefully she's home by now. I'd hate for her to hear me and crash into a building. I can't wait to feel her touching me, kissing along my neck, and down my body. Squirming, I ran my nails across my hip. I want to run my tongue along her stomach to feel her quiver. A familiar heat greeted my fingertips as I thought of the reporter. This won't last too long. So much has built up recently.
The more I thought about what we could do together, the more I teased. Really hoping she's home. Soft moans filled my room as I inched closer to my climax. Taking a steadying breath, I reached in my nightstand to retrieve my favorite toy. Turning it on, I teased it around the, now, very sensitive bundle of nerves. The second this sucking toy hits, I'll be done for. A loud gasp escaped me as I placed the toy. My hips bucked and I became rigid. Moaning, I felt the tremors of an orgasm radiate through me.
Collapsing, I turned off the toy and laid in peaceful bliss. That was much needed. Maybe now I won't be as tempted to seduce Kara any chance I get. I wonder if she did the same or flew to Antarctica to cool off. Reaching for my phone, I sent the reporter a message.
Goodnight, Kara. Hope you sleep well. -L

Waking the next morning, I made coffee and called my assistant before she left for the office. "Jess, I hope I caught you before you left."
"You did, Ms. Luthor. Is everything alright?"
"Yes. Would you push my meetings until tomorrow or next week? Once that's done, feel free to take the rest of the day off. I'm going to work from home today."
"Of course." There was a nervous pause. "May I say something that might be unprofessional?"
Taking the mug from my lips, I smirked. "What does it deal with?"
"The CatCo article."
"Go ahead." Whatever she has to say can't be that unprofessional. Jess isn't that type of person.
"I enjoyed the article. I'm glad you and Ms. Danvers don't have to hide your relationship."
"Thank you, Jess." I chuckled. "Who won the office bet?" I paused, knowing the blood had drained from the woman's face. "I know there was a bet. No one is going to get fired."
"I want to begin with, I wasn't involved." Jess debated telling me. "Mathew from marketing."
"Of course it was Mr. Roberts. Well, have a nice day and I'll see you tomorrow."
"Have a good day, Ms. Luthor."
"You as well." Ending the call, I continued to sip my coffee on the balcony. Maybe now I can focus on the grenade, lamps, and kryptonite armor without a lot of interruptions. I might need to get in touch with Kara's aunt for that. It would move things along quicker.
After making a quick breakfast omelet, I got to work. The yellow sun lamp was simple to upgrade since the base was already in existence. As for the rest, they weren't as straightforward. Switching between sketches, I rubbed my temples. Does Kara's aunt even have a phone? Curiosity getting the best of me, I sent Kara a text.
Does your aunt have a cell phone? I would like to ask her a few questions. Hope you're having a good day. -L
I'm having a good day. Cat is answering calls and stuff about the latest issue. She does. Want me to tell her to give you a call or drop by L-Corp? -K
I'm actually working from home today. Her giving me a call would be best. -L
Okie doke! I'll tell her now. You should expect a call soon. -K
Thank you. -L
It didn't take long for my phone to ring with an unknown local number. "Hello?"
"Lena? I was told to give you a call."
"Yes, hello Astra. Thank you for getting in touch so quickly. I need help with the devices Kara told you about. Would it be possible to stop by?"
"Yes. I could do that. One moment." Astra's voice was muffled as she spoke to someone else. "I can be by within the next half hour. Will that work?"
"Perfect. That gives me time to set everything out for you to see."
"Excellent."
Everything was set out when there was a knock on my door. Answering it, I allowed the taller woman entrance. "Thank you for coming over."
"You're welcome. Anything to help keep Kara happy and safe."
"I'm glad we agree." Motioning over to the table of papers, I continued. "This is everything. The noise canceling device is in the prototype phase. Your boss already knows about that one."
"Yes, he wasn't pleased when Kara's earpiece went offline."
"I'm sure." I waited as Astra read and examined all of my sketches and notes. The surprise and intrigue on the Kryptonian's face gave me hope.
"These are brilliant." She met my gaze. "Kara was right. You would have been on the high counsel."
"For my intelligence?"
"Yes." Astra laid down the page she held. "You would have loved the technology we had on Krypton. What did you need my help with?"
"That's what Kara said. From what she's told me, I have to agree." Taking a seat, I set my jaw. "The thing I needed help with was creating red sun rays or something similar. There's only so much I can find online and in books. I need someone who lived under one."
"Before we start to recreate the rays, you'll need to know what a red sun is. A red sun is a red dwarf star. Much like Earth's. However, they aren't as large or as hot as Earth's yellow star. Our sun looked massive in the sky because we were closer to it."
Hours later, my head was starting to throb as my eyes crossed. This is getting us nowhere. While I now know more than I ever wanted to know about a red star, it doesn't help me create a red ray lamp. The anti-kryptonite suit has been improved on though. That's a win.
"Don't lose faith, Lena. You will figure it out. At least the new suit modifications and grenade are almost ready for prototype creation."
"That's a relief, at least." Stretching, I walked into the kitchen. "Can I get you anything to eat or drink?"
"I have come to enjoy a soda called Dr. Pepper. Do you have one by chance?"
"It's my favorite." Bringing down two glasses, I filled them with ice. "I have regular or the cream soda mix. Which would you like?"
"Regular is fine." Astra continued to look over the sketches. "You mean a great deal to Little One."
Pouring us each a glass, I didn't miss a beat. "I care about her as well. A great deal." I paused. "It terrifies me."
"It terrifies Kara as well. She doesn't want to lose you or get you hurt."
"That's why I'm doing this." Setting the glasses down, I took my seat. "I know she can take care of herself, and she has plenty of backup, but I still want to do anything I can to help make sure she comes home."
Astra's brow rose. "The two of you have already moved in together?"
"No. I meant in general." Eventually, I would like her to move in but we're a long way from that.
"Ah." The older woman thought as she took a sip of her drink. "Kara is up to twenty percent usage of the kryptonite lights."
"No." I set my glass down harder than I intended. I'm glad that didn't break. Meeting Astra's gaze, I continued. "Under no circumstance will I use kryptonite near Kara." I don't care if I can't sleep with her for years. I will not use kryptonite on Kara.
"You are quite passionate about not hurting Kara. Even if it wouldn't harm her too badly." She smiled knowingly. "Even if it would get you something you both wanted."
She knows something. "Yes, we've been over this."
"I apologize for testing you." Picking up a pen, Astra jotted some notes. "This will help with the lamps. My boss has some of the parts if you need help." Reading over the notes, part of me was irritated at being tested and the other part joyed for being given information I needed. "I wanted to make sure you wouldn't hurt my niece."
Placing the paper down, I met Astra's gaze once more. "Have I finally gained your trust?"
"Yes." Something in the older woman's eyes changed. "I do. With my life and my niece's. I know it's not exactly needed but," holding out her hand, Astra smiled. "Welcome to the family.
"Thank you." I took the woman's hand in mine. I'm starting to have a family.

Kara's POV
Knowing Lena had been working hard all day, I decided to bring her dinner. Knocking on her door, I waited. When I knocked again and there wasn't an answer, I became worried. Her heartbeat is a little elevated. What's going on? Pulling out my phone, I tried calling her again. Voicemail. Knocking again, I waited.
"Oh, shit." Rushing towards the door, Lena opened it quickly. Relief washed over her face when she saw me. "Kara, I'm glad you didn't leave."
"I was getting a little worried." Entering, I placed the to-go bag on the bar.
"I'm sorry. I was hyper focused on designs and didn't hear my phone or you knocking." Wrapping me in a hug, the shorter woman kissed my cheek. "I want to get as much done here so I can start building as soon as possible."
"Can I see what you have so far? Astra won't stop talking about how brilliant you are." I paused with a chuckle. "If we weren't together, I think she'd try to win you over. She's always been more attracted to intelligence than looks."
"To Astra's dismay, I am taken." A playful grin tugged at the brunette's lips. "Of course. Let's eat first. I'm starving."
As we are, Lena told me about Astra's visit and how they worked through the engineering for each device. Her eyes are so bright when she talks about science and engineering. Reo. She's so beautiful. I reveled in the warm buzz that radiated through me. What's this feeling? It's not sexual tension. Is this love?
"Kara?" Placing a hand on mine, Lena squeezed gently. "Are you alright?"
"I'm happy. I feel like I felt when I allowed myself to use my powers. I feel energized and," I paused, trying to find the correct word. "Free."
A breathtaking smile crinkled the corners of Lena's eyes. "Let's clean this up and get more comfortable on the couch before I show you every-" With a gust of wind, all trash was thrown away. "Thing." She smirked. "That's not fair."
"There are definitely some perks to being Kryptonian on Earth."
"I see that." Taking my hand, Lena led me to the couch and guided me to sit close.
Snuggling in, I laid my head on the woman's chest. "Is this okay?"
"Are you comfortable?" I nodded. "Then yes, it's okay." Lena began showing me the pages upon pages of sketches and explained each one in great detail. Her heartbeat and the slow rise and fall of her chest is so relaxing. Don't fall asleep. Don't fall asleep. Ugh. But it would be so easy. Pay attention! "Ideally, I want these to fit in a capsule so you can carry them with you. To open, all you'd need to do is click the top and throw it. Once it hit the ground, it would open."
"Well, you just answered one of my questions. I wondered if they could open if pressed in my pocket." I paused. "Having a sunlight grenade go off in my pocket doesn't sound too fun."
A soft chuckle vibrated the engineer's chest. "I want to avoid that." Placing the papers on the armrest, Lena wrapped her arm around me. "How was your day? Anything big happen?"
"Pretty manageable. A bank robbery, an ambulance broke down on the bridge, and a few other things. How was yours?"
"Very good. I was extremely productive, I enjoyed spending time with your aunt, and now I have you here snuggled against me." Her heart rate increased. "Would you…" she paused, nervously. "Would you like to stay over?"
Now my heart's racing. "I'd like that. I can fly back to my place and grab some clothes and leave for work from here." Leaning upright, I stretched. "Be back soon. I'm going to check in with Alex on my way there."
Walking me to the door, Lena kissed my cheek. "Sounds good. See you soon."
Changing quickly, I started towards my apartment. Tapping my earpiece, I waited for Alex to answer. Before landing in my window, a large aircraft streaked through the sky and crashed outside of town.
"Kara, I was about to call you. J'onn saw-"
"An aircraft crashed outside of town?"
"Y-yeah. How did you know about that?"
"I saw it. I'll head that way now."
"Okay. See you soon."
Turning course, I flew towards the crash site. Calling Lena, my stomach dropped. I hate to cancel but I have to.
"Hey, is everything okay?"
"I'm not sure yet. I might need to postpone tonight. Right as I got home, something came up and Alex needs my help. If I get done quickly, can I come back?"
"That's fine. Duty calls. Be careful out there."
"I will be." After saying our goodbyes, I landed next to Alex and Astra. "Hey, guys."
"Sorry to interrupt your night. But I thought you might want to see this."
As the smoke and dust cleared, my stomach dropped. "That's a…a Kryptonian ship."
"Not exactly." Astra walked closer to the spacecraft. "These are Daxamian ships. Since they are a sister planet, their technology is similar to ours." Releasing the door revealed a man with a muscular build and brunette hair. "He's their prince."
"How do you know?" Alex inspected the interior.
"The house symbol. If memory serves me correctly, this is Mon-El. No blood relation to us. The blast from our planet harmed theirs. They must have sent him off for his own safety." Astra's brow creased. "But where has he been all of this time?"
"Possibly the phantom zone like Supergirl?" J'onn offered. "We need to get him back to the D.E.O. to keep him away from humans until we know he's of no danger." His attention moved to Astra. "Is it safe to assume Daxamites are similar to Kryptonians?"
"Yes. The main difference is that lead is their weakness. Not kryptonite."
"Good to know." Turning, J'onn waved over some men. "Transport the aircraft back to the loading dock. We'll take the boy."
"Yes, Sir."
