"Jacob, Jacob, Hey C'mon Dude, wake up."
Jacob opened his eyes and saw Stanley and the guys looking down at him.
"You ok, Dude?" Stanley asked.
"Ugh, my head feels like shit," Jacob said before remembering the events of earlier.
"Nancy! Where's Nancy!"
Jacob looked around the school parking lot but didn't see her anywhere. He tried to get up but Stanley and Herman both held him down.
"Jacob, calm down. We have to get you to a doctor, you can't just walk around with that huge lump on your head." Dani said.
"Lump, what lump?"
Jacob got out his phone and saw in the reflection the small lump on his forehead.
"Oh shit! Shit, Shit, Shit! My mom and dad are gonna kill me."
"I think we've got bigger problems than that," Alfred said.
"Like what?" Herman asked.
"I don't think Nancy was the Snowman's only victim."
Alfred then showed his friends a badly ripped-up, Mr. Hat.
"I think it got Mr. Garrison too."
"Who cares about him? Let's get the girls and get out of here before that thing comes back."Dani said.
"What thing?"
Bertha, Patty, Theodora, and Claudia Walked over to the boys. Patty in particular noticed the small welt on Jacob's head.
"Oh my God, Jacob. Look at that thing. We gotta get you to a doctor." Patty said.
"I'll go later, we gotta follow that thing and get Nancy back."
Patty's eyes went wide and she looked around for her best friend but didn't see her anywhere. She then looked back at Jacob and grabbed him by the collar of his dress shirt and looked him in the eyes.
" You just let that thing take your girlfriend, My best friend?! What kind of man are you?"
" I didn't just let it take her, I tried to pull her back but it knocked me out. And to answer your second question I am a man, an Eight-year-old man who is going to get his girlfriend back."
"Are you Loco? That thing will kill you without a second thought. If it ate Mr.Garrison easily then what do you think it'll do to you?"
Jacob ignored Dani and looked around the woodsy area behind the school. He noticed drag marks in the snow leading deep into the woods. Without saying anything, Jacob ran into the woods.
"Hey Jacob, wait up!" Stanley shouted as he ran into the woods after his friend. Herman and Dani did the same, Alfred and patty exchanged glances for a moment before he too followed the other boys into the woods.
Claudia frowned.
"Can you believe that? Our dates just ditched us to hunt down some monster." Claudia said.
"Shut up, Claudia," Patty said.
(Small cave in the woods)
Nancy felt cold. Not the normal cold she had known her whole life living in Colorado, this type of low temperature dug deep into her, down to the bone. She opened her eyes and saw that she was hanging upside down in a small cave, she noticed A still unconscious Mr. Garrison hanging a few feet away. She then saw something that made her want to scream, a rotting cow carcass was laying beneath her, there was barely anything left of it but it was a skeleton and she noticed bite marks on the bones of the dead animal as well, seems whatever had captured her hade tried to eat the bones as well.
Raarrragh!
The roar came down from deeper in the cave, without thinking she tried to free herself from the ceiling of the cave, thrashing and jerking all around until she finally fell onto the cow Bones!
Raarrragh!
She turned around and saw the snowman slowly coming towards her, its white face Stained with the fresh blood of a previous victim.
Cat immediately got up ad ran out of the cave, not Evan looking back to see what the monster was going to do to her teacher. As she was running she slipped on ice and fell on her back!
As she picked herself up she noticed she was standing atop a frozen pond. She looked down at the frozen water and saw that it was nearly all red, a human skull with a small amount of hair stuck to it. It floated to where Nancy was looking.
"Aaaahhhh!" Nancy screamed. She tried to get up but slipped again and fell through the ice upon impact!
Nancy was only underwater for a moment but was horrified by the sight of Multiple Animal and Human bones floating around in the cold water, the snowman must have used this pond as it's personal graveyard. She then felt something grab onto her and pull her out of the icy water.
She puked out water and took off her wet coat, keeping it on would only make her freeze to death. Her savior took off his coat and put it on her. She looked up and saw her sweet Jacob looking down at her.
Nancy clung herself to him. She didn't cry, she was too horrified for anything like that. She just held her boyfriend tight and hoped to god that the snowman wouldn't find them.
"You ok, Babe?" Jacob asked.
"No...but I feel better now that you are here."
"Can we please get the hell out of here," Dani said.
"Ack! I'm with Dani on this one." Alfred asked.
Nancy ignored them but she knew they were right.
"Your friends are right, we gotta get out of here," Nancy said.
Tentacles burst out of the darkness and grabbed Nancy around the Ankles and tried to pull her away but Jacob held on tight to his girlfriend, he wasn't going to let her go again.
Stanley, Alfred Dani, and Herman all grabbed onto Nancy and used all the strength they had to pull her back but it wasn't enough, they were losing their grip on the girl. Alfred noticed a sharpened rib bone sticking out of the ice, he used his free arm to grab it and then stabbed the bone through the tentacles that held on to Nancy's ankles!
Greenish purple blood burst from the severed tentacles. The Snowman monster let out a sound much like a pig's squeal! The other tentacles holding Nancy let go long enough for the boys to grab onto her and run off the icy Pond and out of the Woods.
"None of this would have happened if we had just done my idea and looked for that floating whole foods," Herman said.
Stanley ignored Herman and looked around for anywhere they could hide now that they were out of the woods. He saw saint Marianne's Catholic church nearby.
"Let's go in there," Stanley said as he led everyone to the church.
Dani was the first to reach the door, he tried to pen it but it was locked.
"Fuck! It's locked!" Dani said.
"Oh, you said the f word. I'm gonna tell your mom." Herman said.
"Don't you dare, my sister said shit once at a church Carnival and my mom grounded her for two weeks."
Alfred grabbed a large-sized rock and smashed it against the door handle several times until it finally opened.
The six ran in and closed the door behind them. They used everything they could to block the door, Statues, Pews, and Evan a wooden sculpture of the manger scene. The church was quiet for a while. They all hoped that the snowman would maybe go by the church thinking they were somewhere else or maybe if they were lucky it had just gone back to its cave... although they all doubted this.
"I don't hear anything. Maybe it left." Jacob said.
Stanley was about to say something but stopped when he heard a voice coming from outside.
"Hello, is anyone in there? Father, it's me, Lemuel. I'd like to confess."
Stanley and Jacob looked at each other for a moment before the voice spoke up again.
"Please father, I did something bad, I need you to hear my confession."
Stanley looked at Jacob, Dani, Herman, and Alfred.
"Maybe if we let him he'll help us," Herman suggested.
" haven't you seen any horror movie as soon as you open the door the random stranger is either killed immediately by the monster or turns out to be the monster in disguise,Use your head!" Dani said before pushing past Stanley and yelling at the door.
"Nobody's here right now, just come back tomorrow."
"You don't understand I did something horrible I need to confess."
"I'm sure God won't mind if you wait a day. Just go home."
Nobody answered back.
Alfred huffed in relief.
"Ok. Maybe we can just-"
Alfred was interrupted when the doors to the church burst open!
Stanley had fallen onto the floor and saw the snowman slowly coming into the building. He noticed that the Snowman was holding the fresh corpse of a man in his late fifties in his tentacles. That must have been the man who was trying to get in. If they had let him in, he may have survived but instead, they just left him outside to be killed by the Snowman!
The snowman lifted its massive tentacles into the air and started breaking and smashing everything in sight. As everyone was running, a pew fell on Alfred's left leg, crushing the bones!
"Ack!!" Alfred cried out. He noticed the snowman saw him pinned down and started coming towards him. Alfred tried to pull his smashed leg out but every time he tried the pain was so great he felt like he was gonna pass out. Stanley darted over to his friend and tried as hard as he could to lift the pew but it was too late. The snowman grabbed both boys in their tentacles. Stanley could feel his bones were a minute away from breaking. As he looked around the church one thing in particular he noticed was that the wooden manger scene was still intact but the baby Jesus was gone but Stanley was quickly brought out of his thoughts when he and Alfred were flung to the other side of the church! Stanley grabbed Alfred in mid-air so that when they landed he would get hurt and not Alfred. He and Alfred hit the other side of the church, Stanley knew at the very least he had cracked a rib on impact. The snowman looked at them again, they saw the look of hunger in its eyes as it slowly came towards them. A fresh tentacle burst out of the snowman's body, it was an inch away from grabbing the two boys when it stopped in mid-flight. Stanley opened his eyes but then close them again immediately due to blinding light emanating from the pulpit, he thought he saw the light coming from what looked like an Infant with a halo over its head then after all he had seen and heard that night heard the most horrifying voice he had ever heard in his life begin to speak, he knew without even looking that it was coming from the Snowman. It sounded like an Animal squeal.
"No!! Not again, you can't do this to me again-"
The voice then stopped when a massive gust of warm wind blew into the church and flew off the monster's head and into the winter night.
Stanley opened his eyes and looked around the church. The monster was gone, at what was left was a quickly melting pile of slush but there was something else that made Stanley confused, the wooden Manger scene was still as it had been left but the wooden baby Jesus was back to where it was before, he ran over to it and was shocked to notice that the baby Jesus was attached to the statue like the other figures and couldn't be removed. How could it have been gone one moment and back the next? He then looked back out into the night and felt a cold chill blow into the church. He didn't see that hat anywhere but deep down he was glad he didn't, he hoped he never would again.
Stanley walked back into the church to help Alfred up just before he and everyone else heard hearing police sirens coming down the road.
(Epilogue, two days later)
Alfred was resting on his bed. The doctor at Hell's pass had said since his leg had been broken in two places, he would not be able to walk around freely without crutches for at least 8 weeks, it wasn't all bad though because his leg was still healing he didn't have to work in the Family diner the next few weeks which was good for him but not that great for Patty.
Knock, knock, knock.
" Alfred, there are some people here to see you," Millie said to her son.
"Let 'em in Mom."
Millie opened the door and Stanley, Jacob, Dani, and Herman walked in.
"Ack! Oh hey, guys."
"How is ya feeling Alf?" Dani asked.
"Don't call me Alf, Dani. I'm not a Muppet." Alfred replied.
"Alf wasn't one of the Muppets he was from a whole different show."
"Wherever. My name is Alfred, Alfred Tweak, and don't you forget it."
"I promise I won't. You know Alfred even though we don't know you that well we can all see how well you handled yourself against that Evil snowman."
"Dani is right, Alfred. You could have just run or ignored this completely after what happened but you did neither you stuck with us the whole time and help this rescue Nancy so that's why we thought we'd give you a little gift." Jacob said.
Stanley then gave Alfred eliminated piece of paper that was shaped like the symbol of a black wolf. Honestly, it just looked like the symbol of House Stark from Game of Thrones but instead of silver, it was painted black.
"What is this crap?" Alfred asked.
"It's not crap I printed it out myself and then painted it with a sharpy. Read what is below the picture. Herman said.
Alfred did and saw the writing spelled out:Stanley's crew.
Alfred's headshot right back up as he looked at his four new friends.
"A-are you guys serious?" Alfred asked.
"Alfred, after all the crap you've been through the past few days, you deserve to be one of us," Stanley said.
After looking at his laminated badge a second time, a thought came creeping into his head.
"So from what you guys told me the day after the dance, that snowman monster came to life after the hat was put on his head right?"
"Ya, why?"
"Well what if somebody else finds the hat and tries to"
Alfred stopped talking when Stanley placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Alfred, we have no way of knowing what's going to happen with that hat but one thing my dad learned years ago after he and Jacob's dad felt with that hat is to enjoy every moment you have while things are good because none of us know when that snowman will ever come back or an enormous asteroid is going to hit Earth or hell even a giant Spaghetti Monster is going to come out of the earth center core and destroy the planet, all we can do is just enjoy the peaceful times while we have them."
Alfred nodded then look back down at his new badge.
A few minutes later patty was walking past her brother's bedroom and looked in on him and the guys. She was happy to see her brother finally having true friends that gave a crap about him. She then felt her phone vibrating and saw several texts from Bertha, Nancy, and Theodora. After the events of the other night the boys have been kind of distant with their dates but Patty couldn't judge them for that based on what Stanley told her they went through, they would come around and get back to normal though by then they would probably have to pull off something big to get their girlfriends back Patty didn't doubt that her friends would get back together with Stanley's friends I'll accept Claudia, she was still mad that Alfred left her at the dance but Patty didn't care about that right now. All she did care about was seeing her twin brother happy and making friends on her own.
(Deep in the woods)
Mr. Garrison limped his way out of the cave and into the winter sunlight. It had taken him days to finally get loose from the cave ceiling. He could see the town was not that far away if he just continue to go at the same Pace he was but unfortunately as he was getting closer the wind began to blow harder than usual and out of nowhere an old Stovepipe hat fell to the ground and landed on a large snow drift.
Two bright glowing red eyes opened up in the snow drift and a massive mouth with icicle teeth opened up and roared in Mr. Garrison's face!
"Aw Son of a bitch!"
The end?
