AN: Let us see what happens during this Salandit invasion! Will our heroes succeed, and find out what they want?

Well, obviously. But there could still be something awesome! (-o-)

Morgaera's POV

As the army of Salandits came for us, I felt my magic humming through my fingers, ready to be unleashed. With a spoken word and a thrust of my fingers, that power took physical form, creating crackling bursts of lightning that ripped through the approaching forces.

The lizards hissed and fell back, allowing my allies to make their move.

"In the name of Sky Bob!", Brianna yelled, charging in. She was dressed like a paladin, much like Allister, but based on what I knew about her I did not think that made any sense. If anything, she should've been a rogue.

Her friends began to fight as well. Zeke roared with glee as he charged for a group of them, his guitar-turned-axe plowing through them like wheat before a scythe. His sister started shooting golden beams of energy, a power she had not possessed before we entered this dimension.

Kai grinned at me, declaring, "Watch, Morgaera! I can shoot lightning as powerful as yours!"

He discharged a powerful wave of electricity, but it just ended up shocking his allies as much as our enemies. Poor Hunter, Zola, Jack, and Randa were among the ones affected.

Not for the first time, I questioned my decision to seduce him. It was proving to be more of a hindrance than anything. But I knew that his affection would be very important in the future, and it would not do to doubt my decisions. If I began to question my choices, how would I find it in me to do what must be done, when the time came?

Of course, I could not tell anyone what I'd seen. And even though my mental shields were powerful, I dared not think about the future too much and risk Miss Melody or another Psychic-type catching a glimpse of it. There was too much at stake here for someone to attempt to change things because they didn't like what I had predicted.

It was up to me to ensure things went the way they were supposed to be, no matter how many would want it to be otherwise.

I watched as Jack recovered from his paralysis, and readied his wand. "Alright, I'm gonna cast fireball!"

I heard the DM chuckle, but I knew that I could not warn Jack to stop in time.

Withh a wave of his wand, a truly massive orb of flames materialized, slamming into the horde and making the entire tavern explode.

I summoned a shield around myself, and managed to withstand the potent explosion, if only barely. Most people weren't so lucky.

As the flames cleared, I saw Salandits and heroes scattered all over the clearing, groaning. All the Fire-types were recovering much faster, which unfortunately included all the Salandits.

The DM shouted, "Next time, check how big the room is! Come on, heroes, how are you supposed to get the key if you keep up this sort of nonsense?"

Jack groaned. "I didn't know it was THAT powerful..."

Suddenly Nicholas leaped in front of him, tackling a Salandit that had been coming for his brother. Jack's eyes widened, surprised. He hadn't even seen the lizard!

I knew that this battle was far from over, and clearly these children had messed things up for themselves. It was going to be up to people like me to make sure they didn't kill themselves.

I then spotted Miss Melody using her psychic powers to suspend several Salandits, allowing Mr. Vernon to barrel through them, sending them flying off until they disappeared in a little twinkle in the sky. I could've sworn I heard them screeching, "Team Momma's blasting off again!"

At that moment, Team Rocket emerged from the tavern, yelling at the sky, "Hey, we claim copyright!"

The battle froze, everyone staring at the two ridiculous white-suited anime villains and their Meowth.

"Um...what are you three doing here?", asked Lulu, "Didn't we leave you at the foot of Mount Coronet?"

"Don't remind us!", wailed Jessie.

Meowth glared at the Riolu. "Yeah, so what? We always come back! And we still want your Pikachu!"

James added, "Plus, to file a lawsuit against those Salandits for stealing our lines!"

The other Salandits glared at Team Rocket. One of them declared, "Big Momma won't stand for that! Let's capture them too!"

Jessie paled. "Wait, we can talk about this-"

One of the Salandits tossed a weighted iron net over them, before pointing at us. "You won't escape either!"

"We're not trying to!", declared Zeke, "We do want to wreck your face though! Let's press the attack, guys!"

So the battle continued.

I noticed a particularly large Salandit coming for me, wearing tattered robes and an amulet. I was startled to realize I recognized them. They were the robes worn by an initiate of the Arcador Academy...but that was from my world, which had been destroyed years ago!

I hesitated just a bit too long, and the Salandit took advantage of it. They (well, she, only females could attend the academy) summoned a bolt of dark energy, which zapped me and sent me stumbling back.

"Halt, initiate!", I commanded, sorcery slipping into my words, "I am High Sorceress Morgaera!"

A cruel smile danced across the Salandit's lips. "You hold no sway over me, high sorceress. Maybe once, but now my allegiance is to Salara!"

My lip curled in disgust. "The Fire Whisperer."

The Salandit cackled menacingly. "Yes! Unlike you, she saved us from the destruction of our world! Even with these alien forms, we are only stronger for it! What did YOU do, Witch-Queen? Or did you just watch your cities burn?"

I hissed angrily. "You know NOTHING of what I had to do for my people."

The Salandit smirked. "Perhaps. But it is obvious that you FAILED. And now you will kneel before your better!"

She readied a silvery rope, which I knew contained a powerful enchantment that would allow it to bind anything, even gods. It would completely restrict my magic, and I knew I could not let that happen.

She lashed it at me, but quickly I teleported thirty feet back, readying a volley of arcane missiles. As I fired them off, however, the Salandit summoned a shield of roaring flames, effortlessly blocking all of them.

I could sense more of these female, magical Salandits appearing all around us. I could already detect that our odds were shifting. These magical lizards were going to turn things against us. As powerful as we were, most of them had never faced the denizens of my world, a matriarchal society capable of such power that they could slay literal gods.

Perhaps Arceus had a good reason to destroy it...

The Salandit charged for me, the rope growing in size and humming with energy. I focused my power, and suddenly the floor beneath her turned to liquid, causing her to sink to her waist and interrupting her spell.

However, at this point, the others had figured out who I was, and three more ropes were coming for me. I teleported again, but I knew I was only delaying the inevitable.

All around me, the others were being taken down. They were trying their hardest, bless their hearts, but they were far from the hardest foes these Salandits had faced. I watched as Hoopa summoned a portal that dropped the Salandits charging for him a hundred feet over the ruined tavern, but it was a trick to allow the cleverer Salandit sorceresses to hit him from behind with a rope.

I knew Hoopa must hate this, bound in even more ways than one. But there was nothing I could do to help him.

Zeke tried to utter the command phrase for his ship, but the ropes wrapped around his face as well as his body, preventing him from speaking. His sister's tail flared with rage, and she started blasting Salandits left and right. But soon she was bound as well.

I noticed Allister's bracelet humming in alarm every time a rope drew close, allowing him to dodge them, but he was being driven into a corner. Even with his powerful wings, he could not repel the Salandits encroaching on him, and soon he was bound as well.

I summoned a pulse of powerful energy, blasting away the Salandits coming for me, before teleporting again. But my number was up, and someone managed to snag me with a rope before I could do anyone else.

I immediately relaxed, knowing that if I struggled the rope would tighten and using magic to trigger the body's pain sensors. I knew from experience that that was a miserable experience.

I felt nothing but apprehension, however. Salara hated me with a burning passion, and knew that once I was in her clutches, it would be nearly impossible to escape again.

But if my visions were to believed, destiny would have another plan in mind. I could only hope that Salara had not found a way to change fate itself, as I had.

As the Salandits bound us all together (including Team Rocket), I calmly closed my eyes and began probing the memories of creation, trying to see what the near future held. But that was always cloudier than the far future, or the far past for that matter.

The ropes were pulled tight, and then the Salandits scurried to the edge of the chasm they had torn open. Looking down, I could only see fire and mist, but I knew that it would be a long way down.

The Salandits did the natural thing, and just jumped straight down. As my friends screamed, and Eddie whooped and cheered, I remained silent and calm, my thoughts drifting to the flow of time, and began to follow its path. (-o-)

AN: Sorry for the long wait and the short chapter! I just haven't been feeling like writing recently...

However, next chapter should be longer, and we'll be exploring more of Morgaera's backstory! That will definitely be interesting for sure!

Also, psyche! A battle that did NOT end in victory or a draw! That never happens! But our heroes should be fine...or will they?

Anyways, I'll see you next time, and happy Pokemon hunting!
