Arc 2: Bright Shadow War

Himeko roars as she brings down her great sword on top of a Honkai beast, slicing it into two, then spin kicks a female with very pale skin that decapitates the head. She sucks her breath in then taps on the earbud in her ear.

"Section C is clear," She coolly says while scanning the neighborhood she is in. She sees a few of the Valkyries she brought in another plane land on top of a house that got a large part of it caved in. They jump into the house then quickly come out.

One of the Valkyries looks at her then shakes her head, prompting Himeko to tighten her hold on her weapon.

"Section D cleared," Fu Hua's voice, though in a slightly out of breath manner.

"Good work. Regroup with section B and prepare to charge into the last known location of Void," An unknown female voice responds in an emotionless tone.

"Roger." Himeko cuts off her communication then clicks her tongue, "They already know that she isn't there… So why a suicidal charge into the swarm of Honkai… Damn it. This was supposed to be a simple mission of using Hachiman as bait to draw them out!"

She looks around then spots a large ship slowly descending, "Damn it, I owe that loli hag my precious beer since she won the bet." She clicks her tongue before expanding her wings then flying upwards.

As she soars through the air, she bitterly mutters, "If only I had stopped that damn Herrscher before this whole mess!" She sighs, "At least those four are safe… Hopefully."

Mei quietly sighs as she slowly gets up, "Sirin… Just explain –"

Sirin snaps her head to her, "No. I already told both of you that no excuses. And both of you promised to stay out of it."

Mei bites her lip with her hand reaching out to her, "B-but… Isn't it unfair –"

"DAMN IT. JUST LET ME DIE ALREADY!" Sirin shouts while glaring at her, prompting Mei to flinch and lower her arm. She softens her glare, "Please… I was already supposed to die back then."

Sirin turns her head back to looking at the ground, "I just want to die… I broke the promise of the person who gave me everything I wanted…" She grips her clothes, "I deserve to die for that."

Hachiman quietly walks to Mei then puts his hand on her, "Mei… Just let Sirin do what she wants… I understand where she's coming from and would do the same thing if I broke a promise to Komachi… Granted it has to be on this scale." He softly says then jokingly says at the end, prompting her to frown at him.

"But Bella –"

"Don't," Sirin quietly mutters in a dead tone, shutting Mei up, "Just… Don't say her name anymore."

Mei bites her lip before turning around and putting her hands on him, "Ar-are you sure that… This is the best…?" She asks with desperation while sadly looking at him, "Sirin –"

"Made her choice, Mei."

Hachiman and Mei resolutely gaze into each other, neither willing to back down. Kiana, in the meantime, is holding the spear with fascination.

"Oooooo, I like this design," Kiana twirls the spear to look at all of the parts.

Sirin sadly chuckles, "That was the same reaction you had when I took it out back then… A fitting end for a horrible wo- no, trash. I don't deserve to be called a human or Herrscher after everything I done." She lifts her arm and gazes into the palm with bitterness and loathing swimming in her eyes.

Kiana blinks then slowly lowers the spear, "Why do I need to kill you?" She asks with a raised eyebrow.

Sirin snaps her head to her, "Wh-what?" She bewilderedly says then narrows her eyes and continues, "I broke my promise, killed countless humans because I wanted Bella back, and other heinous acts! I –"

"Yeah? And? Did you kill my, um, our parents? Erm… Bianka?" Kiana nonchalantly says while trying to twirl the spear, though she accidentally hits her head, "Ow."

Sirin tries to stifle her snort as she sees Kiana rubbing her head then sighs, "…No. I… They disappeared and I can't find them no matter what I did…" She looks down, "But who's to say that they aren't dead… Hell… I might have gotten them killed…"

"But that's not confirmed." Sirin snaps her head to look at Kiana, who shrugs, "I don't care about other people except for my loved ones. The world can burn and I wouldn't bat an eye if I can see my loved ones safe and sound." The latter glances at Hachiman and Mei, who are too engrossed with themselves to pay the sisters any attention.

Sirin blinks then widens her eyes while opening her mouth, "Kiana… Little sister… What happened to you?" She says in a horrified tone while slowly getting up.

Kiana smiles as she leans onto the spear while looking right into her eyes with her golden eyes.

"Lots of things after Siegfried abandoned me in the forest. Living on the streets, getting betrayed, betrayed, betrayed, over and over and over by people who told me sweet nothings into my ear and false promises. So…"

"Can you really blame me for not giving a shit even though the world is burning?"

*A...N*

Last chapter marked the end of Arc:1 (I have no idea what to call that arc... Mind helping me out with suggestions?) and starting Arc:2 - Bright Shadow War. Now, with that out of the way, (rant incoming) the last few days were absolute hell for me, making me not updating since I didn't have the energy to write a lot. Might need to take a break again for a week (really not looking forward to that if it's true...) but I fucking hope I don't. (rant end) Anyway, on to the comments!

Guest - a simple sword that only got the handle guards painted black

calderoneric758 - ah, mood and F. Also, you mean the swimsuit version of Kiana? Though... Who's to say that they are alive?

Alt Zero - thx, and I try but... Life

eightmanantartica2428 - *pleased hand face*

BorderLand - hahahahahahaha, yep. I was wondering when somebody would say that since Hachiman fits right in with the characters in HI3

PanickingNoob - Don't worry, they are more similar to each other than you think

Ermano - welcome aboard, reader. Don't worry, this fic can be enjoyed with or without knowledge of HI3 and Oregairu since it's AU (We've already diverged from HI3 canon long long time ago lmao) and thank you for the encouragement. I also believe that imperfection in fanfics make it more real than the fanfics that got perfect grammar, sentence structure, explanation for everything, etc. Granted, you have to at least make it eligible for reading instead of just horrible horrible language that forces your readers to translate or reword the sentence.
