3 months later and we back. Aight sorry for the very long wait and I'm sure you'll be pissed with a short chapter today but man, I have a couple of things to say.

First off, I'm getting burnt out on this story. Yes, yes you heard me right hold your gasps. It's not because I'm just shit at writing or having trouble coming up with ideas but it's just MHA in general. Because of this story, I had to go back and watch the anime and read the manga a little and man it made me realize how mid it is. The story is good and all but it slowly diverts later on and then we're suddenly on the final arc.

Vigilante Deku was one of the best arcs because it shows his conviction and how far he's willing to go to protect people. Wish that would have stayed longer but no, we got original Deku back after it. I mean it's fine and all but in all honesty, MHA is kinda eh.

It doesn't mean I'm going to stop writing this story obviously. I got burnt out so much I went to write another fic and already finished 4 chapters of it so like lmao. I don't know if anyone wants me to post it so I'll just keep it in the archive for now. But yea, I decided I'm going to focus more on Shinjiro for the upcoming chapters because this is his story ffs. I don't know why I've been focusing on Midoriya for so long (probably run time lelelel) but it's time for me to pick things up with Stain and the upcoming original arc.

I will be skipping through parts of Midoriya's training because c'mon, do you really wanna see him get full cowling again? Exactly.

This is where the rating will start to make more sense because I've been on that dumb rating fence for ten years and I still haven't decided how dark I want this story to be. Then again, I can't decide anything in general- ok right. I'm sure y'all wanna get to the chapter and yes I'll let you go. Oh, also for everyone who says how dumb a scene was in chapter 1 is right. I'll probably be changing that some time soon but I'm lazy so suck it.

Shinjiro's eyes fluttered open as he started to regain consciousness.

"Ugh…that felt horrible," His head now felt completely on fire. The migraine got worse as he came to.

"Hmph, you're finally awake," The old man said while polishing what seemed like a scalpel.

"Fuck…" Was all Shinjiro managed to utter. Whatever was injected into him hurt like truck-kun ramming into you.

His vision seemed to level out and he could finally see who was in front of him. In place of the old man stood his figure, but the head didn't look like a human. It was red and oddly shaped with ragged bumps going around his head. It sort of looked like…a crab.

"Alright kid, I'm only going to ask you this once," He walked towards the boy and brought his face closer. Shinjiro could see the jagged teeth and large yellow eyes sprouting from the man. "Who are you?"

"Shinjiro. Student of U.A." The boy simply replied.

"That can't be all," The man replied back. "Who sent you? The Council? Their benefactors? Hell…even the Heron?"

"Like I said before I came in…I'm just a student looking for answers," Shinjiro stood his ground, especially when he has nothing to offer. "I guess you could say I'm…connected to them."

The crab-like man brought the scalpel closer to Shinjiro's face. "Explain."

"Well…thanks to some…certain circumstances, I'm trying to find out whatever the hell happened to me. I don't think you'd really wanna hear-"

"Go on then, we have all night," The man interrupted. "I've got nothing to do anyways so…out with it."

Shinjiro sighed, he didn't want to have to tell the entire story. But it seems like he would get answers and it wasn't like he could go anywhere anyways. Being tied up and threatened to spill the beans can be a blessing.

"Kazuya…he-" When Shinjiro started to speak, a knife was slammed into a nearby table.

"Damn! That old man doesn't know when to give up!" Yarou cursed.

"...Aren't you the same-"

"It's just a disguise!" He snapped. "Ugh…"

The man then went around Shinjiro's chair and loosened the restraints. Shinjiro was slightly confused by the man's actions but then he realized it must have been something to do with a particular man.

"I'm glad we could come to an accord, Yarou-san-"

"It's Yapool," The man said.

Shinjiro cleared his throat. "Well then, Yapool. Mind telling me about your connection with Kazuya? Seeing as how that spurred you to release me."

Yapool scoffed. "Huh! Even hearing his name's gotten me riled up. Look kid I don't even know why you're bothering with a man like him."

"Because I've been affected by his stupid experiments. I want to reset everything back to normal," Shinjiro explained. "Now please tell me. What's your connection to him and why is he involved in the plane crash that took place ten years ago?"

"First off, you can't reset everything he's done. It's irreversible," Yapool shook his head.

"It's…not?" Shinjiro muttered.

"Everything he does has a purpose," The man explained. "He wants perfection and will always keep his test results. Always improving and learning from his mistakes. Hell, he doesn't even consider anything a mistake but a learning process."

"So…he learns? That's it?" Shinjiro could feel his blood boil. "Are you saying that I was…kidnapped off the streets to fuel this stupid game of his?"

"Unfortunately, that's how he's always been," Yapool sighed.

Shinjiro got closer to the man. "How do you know so much about him? Why are you here in this…place?… What happened?"

"Ugh…alright, alright," Yapool stepped away from the boy before walking back to his desk. "You know… even if you are telling the truth-"

"I know you don't trust me," Shinjiro interrupted before slowly walking over to Yapool's desk.

"But right now…you're my hope of getting any information about Kazuya. And the first damn evidence…is in that plane crash footage."

"Kid…I don't know why he was involved in the plane crash okay? I wasn't there," He insisted.

"Then why-" Shinjiro pulled up something on his phone. "-are you listed as one of the passengers on the flight?"

Yapool's eyes widened.

"You were supposed to be on that flight that day. But you didn't," Shinjiro slammed his hands on the desk. "You knew something bad was going to happen…did you?"

"Hmph, I underestimated you kid." Yapool decided to choose his words carefully. "I can't tell you why I decided not to go on the flight that day. But I can tell you this."

He brought something out from underneath his desk.

"As you may or may not know…I'm something of a scientist myself," He explained. "Kazuya and I, our relationship is…complicated. We were sent by the Council to survey everywhere on Earth as ambassadors. Along with a couple of politicians and their families, geniuses, and high-ranking officials. We were all handpicked by them."

"This…Council. Who are they?" Shinjiro questioned.

"Nobody knows. They speak through an anonymous person and even they are masked up so no one knows their true identity. Either way, we were sent on a top secret mission that, while I didn't know, was very important."

"How'd they not tell you? That's weird, isn't it? You were sent as an ambassador but weren't even told your mission," He pointed out.

"Exactly, even I found that weird. But because of my status as a genius scientist, I guess I wasn't exactly free to be disclosed any information."

"What about the rest of them? Did they know?"

"Even if they did, they're all dead. Didn't you hear? No one survived."

"Wasn't Kazuya on board though? He could have escaped."

Yapool shook his head. "He declined to go on the flight from the get go. I think he knew something was fishy about the entire plan."

"Then you both pulled out because you knew something was wrong…" Shinjiro pondered. "Then did you tell anyone else?"

"Of course, I tried convincing the others to rethink their decisions but they were adamant. Well, look where that got them," Yapool crossed his arms.

"So still a dead end here huh?" Shinjiro grumbled in frustration.

"Look, kid. I can understand why you're doing this but don't you think there's no point? What's done is done and there's nothing you can do to change it. I don't want another person to delve deeper and lose their sense of reasoning."

"You have a point," Shinjiro backed away, slotting his phone back in his pocket. "However, I'm still getting to the bottom of this. Whether you like it or not."

Yapool sighed as the kid made his way to the door.

"Thanks for knocking me out and tying me up by the way. I'll be back…probably," He said before leaving.

"You're we-" Yapool seemed to register what the boy had said before slumping back in his chair. He silently chuckled to himself.

"Now I have two of them to deal with huh?" He muttered to himself.

~{A couple of days later}~

The mini-break for the U.A students was over and everyone made their way over to school. Shinjiro was one of those people, having spent his break being productive off screen.

Since he just lived across the street, he was the earliest in the class. The deserted classroom left him thinking about his conversation with Yapool. Despite not getting any strong information from the crab-looking man, it served as an important reminder of the consequences of digging up the truth.

It will be ugly and certainly not fun to find out but in the end-

"Shinjiro? What'cha doing?" A voice snapped him out of his thoughts, forcing him to lift his head up to see nothing in front of him.

"Oh…Hagakure. You're here early," Shinjiro greeted.

"Yea, although a lot of people were staring at me. I'm a little embarrassed," The invisible girl said.

"Well, I guess it's only natural. The class was on national television after all."

"What about you? Did you get recognized?"

"I live across the street so nobody other than the staff really noticed me," Shinjiro replied. "Plus, I checked back on the broadcast and I didn't really get that much screen time."

"You got more than me though. You made it to the battles for crying out loud! You fought Bakugo and lived!" She said enthusiastically.

"Yea well…sometimes fate can be cruel to you," He replied.

"Fate huh? Do you think fate gave me this quirk for a reason?" Hagakure asked from out of nowhere.

Shinjiro sighed at the question. "Fate…can be a bitch sometimes. It makes you really question what is the point of your existence. You know, I've gone through a couple of things that made me ask myself this. Why keep going if even fate is holding you down?"

"But then I realized. What if it's all a test? To push you to your limit and see if you could climb out of the hell hole that it created," Shinjiro looked up at Hagakure. "You asked me how could you stand out more? Personally, I don't have an answer for that. But, I do think that it's up to you to decide how you want your fate to turn out."

He gave her a small smile as she stared in awe.

"That. Was. Amazing!" She shouted, startling the boy. "I suddenly feel so motivated! Thank you Shinjiro, I won't forget this!"

She said before walking away to her seat.

"I didn't…do much though?" He thought in confusion.

"Hold on," He said, causing her to stop. "Were you always…invisible?"

She turned around in confusion. "What do you mean? It's my quirk."

"Oh, I see…" He leaned back in his chair.

"I swear I could've…" His thoughts trailed off when more people started coming in through the doors. All of them were mostly talking about how they were recognized out in the streets.

Everyone eventually flooded in and took their seats, although still chatting among themselves. It wasn't until the door swung open yet again, revealing a perfectly healthy Aizawa. Although, sometimes you couldn't tell if he was perfectly fine or not.

"Good morning," He said lazily.

"Good morning!" The class shouted back.

"Alright listen up," He brought out a clipboard from who knows where. "There's been a change to this class. Someone from the General Class is getting moved over here."

The whole class froze up in shock. They knew if someone from any class was joining them then that means…

"Someone's getting switched out!"

Aizawa's eyes shifted to the door before slightly sighing. "Are you going to come in or what?"

The door then slid open, everyone was on the edge of their seats as they patiently waited for their potential replacement. Everyone's eyes widened as they immediately recognized the boy with dark purple hair who looked very similar to Aizawa.

"Yo, I'm Hitoshi Shinso…nice to meet you…" The boy said, his eyes glued to the floor.

"Oh damn," Kaminari said.

"How ironic that the one who waged war with us is now joining the very enemy he sought to defeat," Tokoyami spoke in some cryptic language.

"Now, your seat will be-" Aizawa spoke up.

The class tensed up, waiting for the inevitable.

"-the empty seat next to Shinjiro," The hero finished.

"..." I'm sure the silence can speak for itself.

A couple of the students turned around to see a totally non-inconspicuous desk sitting right next to Shinjiro.

"Wait, Sensei," Yaoyorozu raised her hand. "Why are we getting a new student now? And why only him?"

"Principal Nezu suggested it. After all, we had one less student compared to Class-B so we decided to even it out," Aizawa explained.

"But why him?" Midoriya wondered.

Aizawa shrugged. "Don't ask me. Shinso, go take your seat."

The boy walked over to his new seat in his new class and sat down. He turned towards Shinjiro.

"Oi…you did something didn't you?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.

"Who knows," Shinjiro leaned back in his seat and put his hands on the back of his head. Thank you off-screen shenanigans.

"Well…thanks, I guess," Shinso rubbed the back of his head. "But why-"

"Anyway, today's Hero Informatics Period will be something special," Aizawa spoke up once again.

The class got terrified again and the entire room became cold.

Well, it was only for a little while before Aizawa said:

"Code names. You'll think of your hero names," He said lazily. Hey, just like my life-

"NOW THAT'S THE EXCITING STUFF!" The class shouted a bit too enthusiastically.

Aizawa activated his quirk, red eyes glowing through the room which promptly shut everyone up.

"It's because this is related to the hero draft picks I talked about the other day," Aizawa turned off his quirk. "The draft starts in two to three years after you've gained experience and are regarded as work-ready."

He explained about the offers and calls for them in the future before bringing out a remote.

"Oh, and before I forget, here are your results for the offers," A hologram popped up on the blackboard and displayed everyone's amount of offers they got.

As expected, Todoroki and Bakugo topped the charts and blew everyone out of the water.

"You're amazing, Todoroki-san," Yaoyorozu turned to the boy.

"I'm sure it's all because of my dad," He said.

"Bakugo got fewer offers than Todoroki, that's surprising," Kaminari commented

"Probably because the pros are scared of him," Sero said.

"Like hell, they should!" Bakugo shouted.

And while everyone was focusing on how many offers they got, Shinjiro was focused on something else the lazy prick. That, and he got no offers for some odd reason.

"Hmm, you think it's odd you got no offers?" Shinso turned to the boy. "I understand if I didn't get any but you made it far."

"Who knows," Shinjiro said, glancing at his phone. Why are you using that in class, you delinquent.

"Whether or not, you've been offered or not, you'll all still have a chance to be under an internship by the pros," Aizawa spoke up.

"Really?" Midoriya, sounded surprised.

"Yes, because of the incident at USJ, you all have experience fighting villains. By interning under a pro, you'll be increasing your skills and have a chance to work with a pro firsthand."

"That's what the names are for!" Uraraka shouted excitedly.

"Right now the hero names you'll all choose will be temporary, but if you're not serious about it-"

Suddenly, the door to the class burst open. "- you'll be sent to hell!"

All the perverted boys in the class perked up.

"Since the names chosen as a student could become well known and end up as your professional name," Midnight walked in with a seductive pose. C'mon, these are children- actually, just continue.

"Well, that's just how it is. Midnight will evaluate your choice of names. I can't do those things…" Aizawa said as he reminisced on how he got his hero name.

He slowly brought out his yellow sleeping bag before finishing his speech. "Choosing a name that represents your future projects your desired image and brings you closer to it. That's what it means to say "names and nature do agree". Like All Might."

And then he went to sleep. Okay, good night.

Small whiteboards were passed around for everyone to write their hero name on.

"My hero name…" Midoriya thought. "Is what I want to be in the future…"

Shinjiro yawned before turning to his seatmate.

"I honestly could not care less."

"Man, you could be a little more excited about it though. It's gonna be your hero name after all," Shinso remarked.

"Hero…hmph, as if I have any hero qualities. I could commit genocide for no apparent reason," Shinjiro crossed his arms and leaned back in his chair.

Midoriya stared at his blank whiteboard, thinking of what his name would be. Which led him to a pretty embarrassing memory of his four year old self with an All Might onesie.

"Let's see…Mighty All One, Mighty Boy, Mighty All Might Jr. Mighty Man, Captain All Might, Super All Might," His mother read out names from a piece of paper in her hands all while young Midoriya was jumping ecstatically.

"I used to just think of whatever was in my mind then…" Midoriya awkwardly chuckled. "But now…I've inherited All Might's power and he's training me along with Shinjiro. The difference between me and them is just too much…"

After a few minutes have passed, Midnight cracked her whip which scared a few of them.

"Alright! Let's start presenting these names, shall we? Whoever's done can go first," She said.

"Urgh! We have to present them?!" Kirishima reeled back.

"That takes some nerve…" Sero added.

Oh yea, guess who's up first on the stands.

"Shining Hero: I can not stop twinkling!" Aoyama announced his hero name to the class.

"IT'S A SENTENCE?!" The class shouted in their minds.

Midnight grabbed his whiteboard before making some changes. "You should remove the 'I' and shorten the 'can not' to 'can't'."

"Right. Mademoiselle," Aoyama agreed.

"WHAT? That's okay?!"

"All right! I'm next!" Ashido skipped to the stand before plunking her whiteboard down. "Alien Queen!"

"Hm, how interesting miss Alien Queen," Shinjiro thought since she broke him out of his thoughts.

"No! Do you want to be that thing with acidic blood? Plus, we can't risk a copyright strike!" Midnight rejected her by holding up a comically large X.

"Aww," Ashido dejectedly walked back to her seat.

"May I go next kero?" Tsu raised her hand.

"Sure, Tsuyu-chan!"

Tsu made it to the front of the class. "I decided on this name back in elementary school."

She flipped over her board. "Rainy Season Hero: Froppy!"

"Finally a normal name!" The class thought in unison. Oh yea, the entire class started to chant Froppy too but we don't need to know about that.

Alright, time to quick fire through these names- oh…we're just skipping past all of them and getting to the important ones? Perfect! My job is so much easier!

"That's it everyone! Keep em coming!" Midnight shouted.

"Shoto."

"Eh?!" Midnight comically fell over. "That's your name?"

"Yes," Todoroki nodded.

"Oh- well…that's okay, I guess," She awkwardly chuckled.

After a couple more people's names came and went, we got left with-

"King Explosion Murder," Bakugo stamped his board down with a black aura around him.

"I'm working with idiots here…" Shinjiro slammed his head on the table.

Midnight just sent Bakugo away. Not much to say about that one.

"Well…it's my turn," Uraraka nervously got up from her seat.

"I thought a lot about this one so," She flipped over her board. "Uravity"

"How cute!" Midnight commented. Then again, she did say that to about half the class.

"This is going great don't you think!" The hero spoke up again. "We only got a couple of people left. Bakugo needs to rethink his, and then Iida, Midoriya, Shinso, and Shinjiro!"

Iida seemed to be deep in thought.

"Tenya…" A voice called out to him.

His eyes widened as he recalled a memory from his visit to the hospital.

Beep.

Beep.

Beep.

"Tenya…I didn't know whether to tell you yesterday, but… I can't feel my legs anymore," His brother weakly said. The man was completely messed up and just barely conscious.

Iida's pupils shrunk. "N- No way. That can't be true!"

"Ingenium will…most likely end here," He grunted.

"No!" Iida shot up from his seat on the verge of tears. "You still have to lead so many people! People to help! I- I don't like this!"

"I don't either…" His brother said, his breath labored. "And so…"

His eyes opened before his looked at Iida. "...If it's okay with you-"

"-will you carry this name for me?"

Inge-

Iida stopped himself from writing the name further.

"I can't…not yet…"

Tenya

Oh man, we went through a flashback only for him to not pick the name.

Iida adverted his eyes from the class as he set the board down to show everyone.

"Just your name? Is that okay?" Midnight questioned.

Iida silently nodded.

Midoriya seemed to be in deep thought about what his hero name is going to be. So we're going to skip over him and head onto the new boys.

"The Hypontic Hero: Mind Jack," He proudly presented with a smirk on his face.

"That sounds like a terrible NTR to come," Shinjiro sweatdropped.

"Alright! We only got three people left!" Midnight announced before looking over to the right side of the classroom. "Who'd like to come up between the two of you?"

Shinjiro sat up from his chair. He sighed. "Let's get this over with."

He plopped down his whiteboard and to everyone's shock-

"EH?!" The class, including Midnight shouted.

"Wh- Where's your name?" The teacher asked.

"...Don't want one," He bluntly stated.

"B- But everyone has to have one," Midnight was thoroughly confused by the boy's antics.

"Not me, I want to be like Aizawa-sensei. An underground hero whose out of the spotlight."

"But even then, you have to have a hero name."

"Do I have to?"

"Yes."

"Like really?"

"Yes."

"Like really really have to?"

"YES!" Midnight shouted before panting.

"If you're already panting like that then how's your-"

A whip cracked.

"So how about we start picking your name huh?" Midnight said with a cross vein on her head.

"...Duly noted," Shinjiro said.

"Alright then…how about Acrobat Hero: WingKni-"

Shinjiro

"Yea, I'm sticking with my name," Shinjiro deadpanned before walking back to his seat.

Midnight sweatdropped. "Alright, whatever's fine with you…"

"Man, Shinjiro's kinda weird!" The class shouted in their heads.

Midoriya chuckled. "That's just Shinjiro-san for you."

"Now, finally…Midoriya? Are you done?" Midnight moved on to the final person.

"Uh…yes!" Midoriya stumbled out of his seat, clutching his whiteboard tightly.

He got up to the front and took a deep breath. Radiation confidence, he showed everyone in the class what he wrote down.

"M- Midoriya…"

"Are you sure about that?" Kaminari asked.

"You might be called that forever," Kirishima added.

"Yeah. I never liked this name, until now," Midoriya said. "But someone changed the meaning of this name and that had a big impact on me. It made me really happy and made me realize that there's something else to this name that I had only just realized."

With sparkles in his eyes, he proudly announced his hero name to everyone. "Deku! The hero that can do it!"

Aww what a nice wholesome moment, it would be a shame if-

"Lord Explosion Murder!"

Ah yep, it's ruined now.

Timeskip brought to you by a chibi Class-A having fun.

"Now that everyone's decided on their hero names, we'll go back and talk about the internship," Aizawa announced, bringing out a stack of papers. "As it is, those who have received special offers will be given a separate list. Those who haven't been offered a spot will pick one out of forty agencies we've prepared."

Aizawa and Midnight began passing around the sheet of papers that have been prepared for each student. Just then, the bell rang which signaled that was time for lunch.

The main characters got their sheets of paper, and, seeing how they didn't get many offers, glanced through the different agencies.

"Hmm, interesting. I wonder what I should pick?" Midoriya wondered.

"Why forty?" Shinjiro deadpanned.

"You have til the end of the week," Aizawa said as he and Midnight walked through the class door.

"Eh? We only have two days?" Kirishima exclaimed.

"Choose carefully. Class is dismissed," He said as he slung his sleeping bag over his shoulder. Midnight just waved before stretching and walking away.

~{Lunchtime}~

"Hey, has anyone picked an agency yet?" Ashido asked as she stared at her list of agencies.

"I pick Mt. Lady!" Mineta was the first to answer.

"Mineta-chan, you have ulterior motives," Tsu said as she walked past him.

"N- No I don't!"

"Ashido, you advanced pretty far in the competition so it's weird you didn't get any offers," Ojiro said.

"I know right?"

"Deku, have you picked one yet?" Uraraka turned towards the boy who was-

"Mumble mumble mumble," Yup, classic Midoriya.

"Ah! Sorry, I was concentrating," He rubbed the back of his head the moment he snapped out of it.

"You're really thinking this through kero," Tsu said.

"Aha…well…" He awkwardly chuckled. "Hey, Shinjiro-san, what did you pick-"

"He already left," Shinso said in his stead, pointing to the door that had just closed.

"Ah…"

Shinjiro walked off toward the direction of the cafeteria while solemnly thinking about what agency to choose. However, the ones listed didn't really suit him.

"Most of these places most likely wouldn't get me out in the field very often. I need to get out there…if he's watching then-"

"Um…you're Shinjiro…right?"

He was cut off by a voice in front of him. Two students stood in front of him nervously, as if they were intimidated by the boy's current attitude of slight annoyance.

"Who's asking?" Shinjiro narrowed his eyes.

"A freshman said he's looking for you," The braver of the two spoke up.

"A freshman?"

"Yea, he said to meet near Gym Gamma."

"Was that all?"

"Y- Yes," He said before the two scurried off, breathing sighs of relief in the process.

"Who the hell would wanna meet me? Unless…" Shinjiro brought a hand to his chin before walking off in the opposite direction.

At the same time, the door to Class-1B opened up, revealing almost the entire class going out for lunch. Out of the corner of her eye, Kendo seemed to notice a silhouette walking away from the cafeteria.

She looked to her left and recognized Shinjiro's back from where she was.

"Why's Shinjiro going that way?" Kendo thought to call him out and point him in the right direction.

"What's wrong Kendo?" A stoic girl asked her.

"Huh? O- Oh…nothing Yui. Let's go," Kendo smiled as she led the girl towards the cafeteria but not before taking one look back at Shinjiro.

~{Gym Gamma}~

Shinjiro entered the giant empty building. Odd, the lights were off. He took one quick scan of the place but saw nothing but darkness in sight.

"There's no one here… have I been-" He felt something move behind him, so instinctively he brought out his arms to block the attack. He felt a gust of wind move past him as he brought out his fists to punch to his left.

At the same time, a hand shot out from the darkness and both were on the verge of hitting each other. However, both hands seemed to stop just mere inches away from their faces.

"Oho, I'm impressed," A sort of feminine voice said.

"Who sent you here?" Shinjiro said, keeping his eyes trained on the darkness.

"Huhu, no one did. After seeing you on television, you really surprised me," The voice said before lowering their hand and stepping out of the darkness.

It was a boy no older than Shinjiro, his short golden hair seemed to illuminate their surroundings and facial features seemed to indicate he was neat and well-kept.

"It's nice to meet you Senpai," The boy smiled before Shinjiro a more ominous presence coming from him.

"Or should I say…Shinjiro Toujou?"

This is truly a me moment with yet another fucking cliffhanger. See ya'll next year when I post lmaoooo
