A.N. I don't know but design-wise I think the Noire's are the best for me with Ultra Nep coming second. Also, I might have ideas for delving into the ultra counterparts so if anyone wants to know more about them, check the A.N. in the end.

Upon waking up Uni found herself being drawn by a delicious aroma from outside. Following her nose, the Candidate found herself in the kitchen area where there was non-other than her older sister cooking by the stove. Noire seemed to sense her presence as she looked from the stove, however, there was a frown on her mouth.

"Is something wrong?" Uni questioned.

"No, nothing's wrong. I was just expecting you'd wake up after I finish making breakfast." Noire told her. "I was hoping I would be done by then."

"Oh, well I can go back to bed if you want," Uni questioned.

"No, it's too late. The surprise is ruined." Noire told her. "Instead, you're going to be forced to sit down while I make you breakfast."

"Can't the Basilicom staff make it instead?" Uni questioned

"Are you implying I can't make something as simple as pancakes for you on your birthday?" Noire growled.

"No, no I didn't mean to say anything like that. I just thought you'd be busy that's all." Uni admitted.

"I know I'm not always here for you, Uni. To keep this nation afloat, it takes a lot of time and effort, but I'll always try and make time for you." Noire told her sister. There were days when it was tempting to just push it all off, but someone had to do it. She was the Goddess of Lastation. The needs of the people often outweighed her own, unfortunately, sometimes her own needs were also bunched together with Uni.

"I know Noire, and I understand," Uni assured her. Noire knew her sister understood why she'd be busy, but it still felt necessary to reassure the candidate that Uni meant as much to Noire as the nation.

"Still, as your sister, I need to be there for you at times," Noire told her. It had become a habit, whether it be the writers' or the developers' fault, Noire and the others often got sidelined or separated from their sisters more often than not. It was starting to worry her that the only time they could share together was in these more peaceful times.

"Noire," Uni whispered. "Do you enjoy your role as CPU?" Uni asked. She had asked the same question to Ultra Noire the day before and the answer had been a mixed bag. Recalling how her sister had dreams of doing more simpler things like cosplay and voice acting, Uni wonders if deep down her Noire also felt trapped with her role as Goddess.

"That's an odd question," Noire noted.

"I was just wondering, that's all I didn't mean to pry." Uni apologized.

"Relax, Uni it's no big deal," Noire assured her. "The truth varies, I guess. I don't quite like having all this work and responsibilities but what else would I do? CPUs and CPU candidates are born to lead and guide the people so our dreams must come second to everything else." Noire admitted.

Uni frowned at this, but Noire continued knowing just how to rectify this.

"It's always nice to look down and see the people." Noire continued. "Lastation is a place that I've nurtured for as long as I can remember. I love my people and to see them grow and progress is something I can't even express in words." Noire told her. "I suppose the closest thing you can say compare it is probably motherhood," Noire admitted.

Uni almost choked on air when she heard that statement. "I'm sorry but did I hear you correctly? Did you just say it's like motherhood?"

"I suppose you could say that. Though I didn't create Lastation, I've ruled it for many generations. Long enough that there are no longer any individuals who were born before my rule left alive. When a mother gives birth, she is often intense pain as the baby is delivered. That's not too unlike the birth of a nation or the crowning of a new ruler. It is difficult but given time and you become attached."

"Then just as a child grows so too will the nation. They will be full of wonder, and it is my job to guide them just like a mother would. I provide for them, and I guide them, help them whenever I can."

"Then come the teenage years and perhaps they begin to question my authority just as teenagers challenge their parents. In this case, both of might be wrong in our approach, and may need to come to an understanding. There are many times when my rule comes into question and often you find that the issues between ruler and people can amount to two things. Either the people become deluded into thinking they know better, or the same happens with me. However, you'll often that the answers to these problems while differing ultimately come from a place of understanding and communication."

"Finally, you have the last stage, which is adulthood, when a nation can function autonomously. This is where you can sometimes sit back and relax and know that your nation has its issues settled and can thrive on its own. That isn't to say you become obsolete and that there is no need for me. It simply means that I can now watch them grow and step in when they need my help." Noire explained.

"Of course, the biggest difference between the nation and an individual is that since a nation is a collection of people, it can reset its growth. If it was just a linear progression, Lastation would have been an adult nation a long time ago, but there is always a point of regression that may push it back to its teens or worse." Noire admitted.

"But you still take pride in raising it. Regardless of what happens, you'll always be there to catch Lastation if it falls." Uni concluded.

"That's right," Noire noted. "Of course, that isn't to say I'll be doing this forever. One day when you're older and you're ready to lead. I can pass the role of Lastation's CPU to you. Whenever that day might be, I don't know, nor do I care. All I know is that you'll do great and once you're ready to rule, I can step down and finally take things slow." Noire told her.

"Now before you jump to conclusions, I don't intend to push you into it, nor do I expect that you should be eager to take it just because it makes things easier on me. The leadership of a nation is not something to take lightly so don't rush, when the time comes, we'll know." Noire told her.

"Okay that's some real heavy stuff," Uni said.

"Oh uh…my bad, I didn't mean to unload that all on you." Noire sighed.

"No, it's alright," Uni assured her sister. "I like it when you talk like this. It's different from your usual speeches about being a responsible CPU. I know it's important for me but hearing you talk like this about what it means to rule instead of the usual stuff. It's a lot nicer." Uni told her.

"Well, that's good to hear. Now let's have breakfast." Noire said as she places the pancakes on their plate while Uni got the syrup and some juice to drink.

"This is so good." Uni moaned in delight as she took another bite of her pancake.

"Glad you liked it." Noire smiled as the two chowed down.

"So Noire…when's the party?" Uni questioned as she wiped her mouth with a napkin.

"Party? What party?" Noire laughed nervously.

"My birthday party, the one you were planning," Uni noted.

"You saw that." Noire squeaked.

"Was I not supposed to?" Uni asked. "I saw it when I tidied up your workstation last night."

"Oh…" Noire answered with a dejected look. "So that's how you found out. That was supposed to be a surprise." She admitted sadly.

"Oh well, I still like it either way." Uni tried to salvage.

"That's good," Noire told her. "I just really wanted to surprise you that's all."

"Well if it makes you feel any better. I was surprised about breakfast." Uni added.

"I suppose I'll take that as a win," Noire admitted. "Although perhaps you can act surprised for the others when we go. Nepgear and the twins worked really hard to help me prepare it."

"Of course. I'll act like I never had one in my life." Uni told her.

"Good."

"So uh, Noire…can I make a request for the party?" Uni questioned.

"Sure. It's your party after all."

"Are you planning on inviting Ultra Noire to the party?" Uni asked.

"Do you want her there?" Noire asked. "If you want her then we'll invite her, although it may be last minute, so you never know." Noire reasoned.

"I was thinking I'd invite her myself," Uni admitted. "I kind of spent the day with her yesterday and she seemed uh…kind of lonely," Uni admitted. Neptune always teased Noire about being a loner so the candidate was a little worried using that word might be in poor taste.

"If it's what you want then you can go ahead," Noire answered much to Uni's surprise.

"Huh,"

"Don't be so surprised sis, we already had to deal with a second Neptune a while back. If I can survive two Neptunes, then a second Noire shouldn't be much of a problem." Noire explained. "Besides, if it's what you want for your birthday then who am I to deny you that."

Noire was immediately cut off by Uni quickly hugging. "Thank you so much, Noire. I'm gonna tell her right away." Uni said as she ran off to go and invite her other sister.

"Yeah sure," Noire said. "She doesn't like the Ultra more than me right." Noire thought.

"What to do? What to do?" Ultra Noire repeated as she looked at the reports before her. There had been an increase in modding in Lastation. Many companies were reporting an outbreak of modified versions of their games becoming rampant in the country. These mods were breaking the games, either by removing any of the difficulty needed to progress or by making competitive games too one-sided. It was getting annoying for some of the players who legitimately bought the game to try and compete with those that hacked it for say infinite ammo or increased damage.

It was tempting to run a ban on mods. If she made them illegal, then perhaps that would solve some of them. However, the mods as a whole had already created a reputation for themselves. She was checking through some comments from the public eye about some mods. To quote some of the users, the mod makers were creating better content for some of the games than the actual creators themselves. Mods as a whole weren't also something that could be banned so easily.

It was one thing to pirate a game. Piracy was basically stealing and distributing software that wasn't your own, however, game modification fell into a different category altogether. Game modding was the manipulation of files from a game that was in a user's possession. You could mod a pirate game, but you could also mod a legitimately bought game. The situation then became, if you bought a game, you already paid money for it, ergo, it is now yours and you are free to do with it as you please. So how can modding be banned if you acquire the game through legal means?

The situation only worsened for her as Noire had a history with herself. She had indulged in modding before becoming a CPU. It was a skill taught to her by her brother. When they were on their own, they had little money to spare on games. As a way of working around it, her brother had…. partaken in modding, and now that she thought about it…perhaps he had even pirated some.

By simply changing some files around he could alter the games in new and exciting ways. It could be simple things like rewriting the dialogue to make new stories or more advanced adjustments like tweaking the programming to either upgrade or change the mechanics. In the more extreme cases, he could edit entire levels and maybe even add new characters. In essence, he took a single game and squeeze dozens of new ones by making variations.

It had been at first for her, after all, no one else was being hurt by this. However, now that she was CPU things were different, she now had to deal with the unforeseen consequences of all this. She also had to be careful how she approached it because there was always the possibility that some knew of the past. It's no secret that CPUs are once born human in this dimension, if someone looked deep enough, they might find traces of her brother and then link it to her.

"Lastation's CPU outlaws modding, when she herself enjoys it, how hypocritical of her." Noire envisioned the headlines. In the past she might have thought such things were impossible, but…one flamboyant pink mech suit-wearing stalker had proven otherwise.

"Damn you, Anonydeath." Noire scowled as she recalled the Seven Sage's member. He was perhaps the most enigmatic of all the members, being the most crafty, skilled, and dangerous. He had bugged her living space somehow to acquire private photos of her, kidnapped and brainwashed Peashy, and even hacked her systems.

Unlike all the other Sage members who had gotten beaten and punished by the CPUs, Anonydeath had never quite been caught so to speak. Admittedly he's been quiet for the time being but that did nothing to calm Noire's nerves, especially since the others agreed to leave him be so long as he didn't cause any trouble. He did aid in the restoration of Mr. Badd's daughters so perhaps he wasn't all bad, but that didn't mean Noire still trusted him.

She knew very well from that encounter that she wasn't as untouchable as she thought. Sure, she had been 'beaten' down by Iris Heart before, but Iris Heart was a CPU as well. Anonydeath had shown that even if she was a Goddess, she was still as vulnerable to those without such power. Physically she was stronger but that didn't mean much if she could still be tripped up by things like blackmail.

"This is getting nowhere." Noire sighed. She felt frustrated. She had been looking for these documents for so long and she just ended up letting her mind wander back to that annoying Sage and her brother. Maybe it was time for a change of scenery.

Opening her private link to the Guild, Noire took a few quests to raise Lastation shares. All of them were mostly monster hunting so she was sure to get in some exercise and maybe grind a few levels. With those quests selected, she locked up her stuff, told the staff she was going out, and transformed into Black Heart before taking off unaware of an observer who was watching her from the roof of a nearby building.

"I wonder if Black Heart will look as cute as Noire in her cosplays." Anonydeath wondered as he saw the CPU fly off. The former Sage was out on a nearby roof. Surprisingly he hadn't been meaning to spy on Noire, tempting as it might be. He was busy with something else today. He had chosen to ditch his armor for the time being to avoid drawing attention to himself so he had to keep his distance for sure.

As tempting as it might be to let Noire have her way with him, Anonydeath had a feeling she'd quicker through him to Iris Heart to deal with. He's brave enough to insight the wrath of several Goddesses but letting himself be vulnerable to Iris Heart was not something any sane person would attempt.

There was a good reason to go armorless. He was out with company, and he didn't want to draw attention to them before he was sure his associates could handle themselves. As if on cue he heard the metallic footsteps approach him from behind. Anonydeath turned around to find a knight in black armor looking unsure at himself.

"What do you think kiddo? Can Uncle Annie deliver or what?" the former sage questioned.

"Thou has made… thy armor far better than…. one expected." They answered. "But one still feels unsure."

"Well first off…I'd recommend you drop the knight talk." Anonydeath informed. "I can tell you're trying really hard to do it and while it sounds good…you'll struggle a lot in more natural conversations." He told the knight. "If you want to make people seriously, you need to be confident with your speech."

"But how am I supposed to disguise my voice?" The knight questioned.

"I'll add a voice modulator later. That should solve your issues." Anonydeath said.

"You could have done that the whole time! Why didn't you give me it before?" The knight grumbled.

"I wanted to see how long you'd do it. Besides, it was nice seeing you talk to Noire's little sister in such a flustered tone." Anonydeath laughed.

"You're the worse Uncle." The knight grumbled before something dawned on him. "With a second, did you say that girl was Lady Noire's little sister?" He questioned. "Is her name Uni by chance?"

Anonydeath looked at his nephew with some suspicion. The way he phrased the question was strange, but then again, the boy could be quirky at times. Maybe he had a thing for the Candidate? He could see why; she was similar to her sister but was still missing something.

"Technically she's the sister of Hyper dimension Noire." He explained. "Uni, the CPU candidate of Hyper Dimension's Lastation, Black Sister."

"Oh, so she's from another dimension." The knight said in disappointment. He was hoping she was from this one. That would be so much better.

"Don't sound so sad. I guarantee dimensions don't play much into any relationship attempts." Anonydeath teased.

"I'm not listening to this." The knight replied as he covered his ears. He did not need the image of himself and the candidate in his head. If his dad heard about this, he was positive he'd be ten feet under for such taboo thoughts.

"A shame, I thought for sure you'd be interested. Little Uni is close to her sisters in both dimensions. I'm sure she'd be a good way for you to get an audience with Noire." Anonydeath mentioned. He noticed the Knight's eyes widen. "Oh, you didn't think I knew about it. I know you attempted to see her yesterday, despite your father's instructions to stay away."

"Don't tell you to dare tell him, Uncle." The knight growled.

"Don't worry, I don't intend to. I know how much of a stick in the mud he is after all. The last time I told him about my hobby of 'collecting' photos of Lady Black Heart, he beat me black and blue. So, I'll keep your attempts of meeting Noire a secret, like the good Uncle I am, however, I'd like you to do something in return for me."

"Alright Uncle, what do you want?" The knight questioned.

"I've got a few new mod requests coming in for some games and I need you to help me make them. Don't worry they are simple stuff like alternate outfit skins or changes to the effects. I'd figure this can be some good practice for you but don't expect to get paid for any of this." Anonydeath informed.

"Well, it's not the worse thing out there." The knight said.

"I knew you'd see it my way and as a reward for your cooperation I'll help you get your audience with Noire," Anonydeath told his nephew as he noticed an incoming CPU candidate high in the air.

"How are you going to do that?" The knight questioned.

"Why, by introducing you to Lady Uni of course," Annonydeath smirked as he took out a device from his pocket and clicked it. The knight looked at him in confusion. "This is a special virus emitter. It's not the strongest weapon I got, in fact, it's pretty fragile, breaks after one use but it works well enough to do its job."

"And what's its job?"

"Reverting a CPU's HDD form and stopping them from transforming for a while," Annoydeath explained.

"I don't get it." The knight voiced as he saw Uncle back away. He was going to question what he was doing but a familiar voice broke his train of thought. "Hey did you hear something?" He questioned

"Yup."

"Watch out. Move. Move. Move. Move." A voice called repeatedly as it got louder. It sounded like it was above him. The knight looked up just in time for….CRASH!

Uni winced as she tried to get her bearings. One minute she had been flying to see Ultra Noire about her birthday party and the next she was falling out of the sky. She didn't know how she survived, perhaps her innate nature as a Goddess helped her survive it. Looking she saw a rather well dressed man smiling in amusement at her.

"Pardon me, miss, but would you mind getting off of my nephew." The man inquired. Uni immediately looked down noticing a young man in armor underneath her. Almost immediately she stood up, somewhat embarrassed and confused about the whole encounter.

"I'm terribly sorry. I don't know what happened." Uni apologized as she tried to help the knight up. He seemed to still be a little disoriented, but he wasn't the worse for wear, she hoped.

"No worries miss, it happens to the best of us." He laughed.

"People randomly fall from the sky and land on top of you?" Uni questioned.

"On me, not at all." The man chuckled. "My nephew here however seemed to inherit the trait from his father. Whenever his father met someone new it was always via them landing on top of them. But that's beside the point, might I ask young miss, where were you going in such a hurry."

"Oh, well, I was heading to the Basilicom." Uni admitted.

"Ah, and I don't suppose you were going to see Lady Black Heart?" The man inquired.

"What if I am?" Uni questioned. Her guard went up at this stranger's mention of her sister.

"Well, we happen to see Lady Black Heart take off not too long ago." The man informed. "She seemed to be heading in that direction." He pointed to the East, where Noire had flown.

"Really?" Uni wondered as she looked at the CPU.

"If you don't believe me, you can ask her staff. I'm sure she informed them of her departure. We'll even join you ask." He told her.

The trio eventually made their way down from the roof, the knight still a little dizzy but slowly getting his bearings back. Once they reached the front the Basilicom Uni questioned them and surprisingly the man was right, Ultra Noire had gone off to do some quests in a nearby dungeon.

"Well, it looks like you were right. I'm sorry for not believing you earlier." Uni told the man.

"That's perfectly alright. We all need to be careful sometime." The man answered. "So, what will you do now? Will you wait for Lady Black Heart or are you going to follow her into the dungeon?" He questioned.

"Well, I don't know when she'll be back, so I think I'll check the dungeons," Uni answered. It shouldn't take her too long to find Noire.

"I see, well in that case. Allow my nephew here to accompany you." The man spoke as he gestures to the knight next to him.

"I'm sorry…what?" The knight spoke.

"You heard me. Accompany the young lady into the dungeon. You're training to be a knight. Are you not?" The man spoke. "It would be unchivalrous for you to just let this young lady go into a dangerous dungeon by herself."

"Listen, that isn't necessary. I'm more than capable of taking care of myself in a dungeon." Uni argued as she materialized her gun to show them. "Besides aren't you still a bit disoriented from when...I…uh…landed on you," Uni told the knight.

"Just because you are capable doesn't mean it you should still go alone young miss. Whatever it was that caused you to land on my nephew might still be affecting you. I'm trying to undermine you, but I must admit I will feel better if I know you find Lady Black Heart and are unharmed. I can not on my pride as a Lastation citizen let one as young as you go alone so recklessly."

"Really laying it on thick aren't you Uncle." The knight groaned.

"Would you rather I tell your father about your refusal, among other things?" The man seemed to be threatened.

"Nope, not at all. I'm totally for doing the escort mission." The knight suddenly said.

Feeling somewhat a mixture of pity and guilt Uni decided to humor the man and let his nephew escort her. For the most part, it seemed like arguing with him was going to be pointless, he wasn't going to drop this idea any time soon. Even his nephew who seemed against it didn't seem to have a choice. "Alright, alright, I'll let you take me to meet Lady Black Heart, but the moment I find her that's it." Uni vocalized.

"That's fair enough." The man agreed. "Alright, you two carry on." He said as he turned to walk away.

"Wait, Uncle, you aren't coming along?" The nephew questioned.

"No, I still have some errands to run. I trust you won't let anything happen to the young lady." The man smirked as she sprinted away.

The knight looked exasperated at his uncle for being so bold. He swore he'd get him back somehow, however for now he had a different problem to deal with. He turned back to see the CPU candidate waiting a few feet away for him, tapping her foot impatiently.

A.N. So ultra counterpart ideas. Whether these characters are living or not I'll keep it silent but for now we have a few candidates, pun intended for our Ultra CPUs.
Our first Ultra counterpart is Blanc's sister, her twin sister to be more specific. I thought about it and seems rather interesting to make Blanc a twin instead of the candidates, felt it would make the dynamic with Ram and Rom and even her alternate Hyper self more interesting. Also it gives me an excuse to have an aged up Blanc without having an aged-up Blanc which can be fun on its own.
Our second Ultra counterpart is of course Verte's cousins. I'm thinking big family with lots of family members but well distance being put due to her CPU nature. It's hard to think of a good reason to make Verte's desire for a sister have a deeper meaning without making it disturbing. Like if I write Verte as having a sister that's still born like Uni was for Ultra Noire, I fear it might make desire seem unhealthy. Heck the abandonment issues still feel so but at least it's not her trying to replace a dead one...yeah it's still sad but hey, can't win them all.

Next on the list...Nepgear...I'm gonna say this quite shamelessly but I'm having been inspired by Colbat Gemini's story, big nep small nep, I want to have a smol nepgear as well. Of course the other candidates aren't here so she's small and alone...sadly, I'm leaving this as is until i think of something better for her.
Last but not least...we have Ultra Uzume, the coolest...grandma. Hehe...of course I'd make her an old lady, she's Nepgear's grandma and by extension ultra Neptune's as well...this is going to be fun explaining.

And off course, if she's a grandma, then there will be a grandpa, hehe.

(warning these ideas are all in the author's head and might not end up being canon as they all subject to change later.)

If anyone wants has any suggestions I'm all ears.
