Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Monster and the Sniper. Enjoy the 5400-word chapter. I don't own MHA Shonen Jump, Kohei Horikoshi and a few others do.

He did pity her. As to be honest? What was to be left of her if she stayed on this path? A broke attempt at being a villain? A future with nothing in it? No hope, no dreams, nothing but the idea of being chased around, pursued by almost nobody but the thoughts in her head?

Well? It'd be a lot worse than what he assumed it would be. If he was honest? She was a lot more dangerous than he wanted it to be. She was dangerous, she knew she was dangerous, and she didn't want to be. That was what people had labeled her and what she knew people would consider her for now. it had been a lot to process.

That was an empty idea. One that he never once wanted her to entertain. She was a hero, and she'd damn sure be known as one. She could try and bury it as deep down and as darkly as she wanted, but she'd not once escape what she was, who she was, and what she stood for. It was a chance to atone, and she knew it.

"Are you ok?" Hydro questioned as he sighed to himself before he rolled his eyes. "No, still passed out, great hero work, Hydro, you knocked out the woman you didn't want to have to hurt, great damn job," Hydro added before he brought a hand to his head and glanced around.

Still? If that was what she wanted? He'd not stand in the way, she had too much on her mind and more time that needed to be on their head.

"She's still knocked the hell out at the second. I'm going to scream if it comes down to this." Storm stated before he rolled his eyes to himself while this happened.

He had been bored and tired at the time now. He had broken a lot more rules by not arresting her. He knew that she had been a lot more dangerous if he let her go…. But he couldn't take it on himself to take her down.

It had been something odd to see her in such a state when all had been finally decided. She had been a hero and yet? She was still a person. All they saw her as was a tool, an assassin with no soul or motive for anything as of the time being.

Oh, did that idiot she had shot have no idea what she was for the time being? She wasn't a monster, not to him at least when this had been decided for now. He knew that better than he had seemed to be.

"Kaina… Are you ok?" Storm questioned before he sighed and looked at her with interest as of the time being.

This had been something as of the time being. it had been something for a time before now. He had a lot more on the line when he considered it. whatever little thing had been a problem.

Still? He felt as if she hadn't been thrown to the side yet. Kaina would have killed him if she was a lot more to see and had to question before it came down to it. If she wanted him dead for the second? She'd be able to score a skilled shot and kill him.

Yet she hadn't wanted it for the time being. This had been a lot more to see and do next before he questioned what to happen before it seemed as of the time. There was little that was not questioned for the moment

"No," Nagant stated while she seemed to question what to say next. "Why are you thinking about even? I'm not a hero. Not anymore. Society thinks I'm a monster." Nagant stated before she hummed during the time.

He snorted to himself before he tilted his head at her and sighed before he sighed and started to glance at her for a second.

He was silent as he tilted his head before all had been said and done for the time being. She didn't want to be a hero; she didn't seem to want to be anyone when this had been said and done before the time. She hadn't been a monster for now when he questioned it. There was a lot more to say and do next for now.

He had been so odd for now and he grew tired of this for the moment. He knew better for now than back down and let this be a lot more to see and do as of now. whatever little thing he had left? He was still a hero, and he still would be willing to fight.

'What kind of hero would I be if I didn't even try to handle this and make sure I tried for now? I need to be able to handle this or I'll never forgive myself for now.' Storm stated as he leaned next to her.

She looked at him with a look of interest on her face as she slowly drew her sniper arm from her appendage. It had been something odd to herself for now. There was a lot more that had been a lot less on their minds now. He had so much more on his mind for now.

Storm slowly started to look over her weapon… If she wanted to shoot him? There wasn't much he could do to stop her if she was so damn pleased. It would also serve as a problem salvaging problem when it came before he questioned what to do next.

He had been prepared for now before he seemed to be capable of what to handle before now. He was not going to be prepared before now. She raised her rifle before she seemed to question what to do next.

"I knew it… If you can't kill me? Then what are you going to be?" Lady Nagant stated before he hummed before now. "Are you going to be, ok? I know you're going to be on the run for a while before now. You aren't the monster you think you're going to be ok." Storm stated before he questioned what to do next.

Storm was curious as to how this was to work if anything. They had more to properly focus on at the end of the day. Nagant was an odd little woman while he was focused to handle.

"And what happens before that? You think there's any place for me back there." Storm stated before he questioned what to do next.

He was unsure of what to do next. Storm stated to himself while he questioned what is coming humming to himself. Storm was not willing to handle this personally. He was not to handle it before now. She was now curious about what to do next.

"What's going to happen when your solo then? What are you going to do next?" Storm questioned before he hummed. "You go a few weeks feeding off table scraps, then act like you can make it big hunting down heroes? You're good, but one of them would get you eventually. If a hero likes me." Storm added before she hummed to question what to do next.

"Hmm," Nagant stated before she questioned what to do next. "And you think you're going to be better than that? You think you know better than me." Nagant stated to which she hummed.

"I don't know what you be doing. I do know you're going to be in over your damn head within a few weeks." Storm stated before he questioned what to do.

He was unsure of what was coming next before she seemed to sigh, twisting away from him. There were a lot more problems in her away. She was good, a skilled tracker as well… But she didn't at all understand what was coming when this was all done and dusted… She was an interesting former hero, but if she managed to do something with this sort of power, this sort of control.

"When are you going to learn? You can't be in charge of this. You aren't going to win that sort of way and you know more than me just how well trying to fight the world is going to be… If anything? A lot more nightmares are going on and I'm not going to turn my back on it. Not when we can do something to make it better." Storm stated before he questioned what to do next as he tilted his head, unsure of what to do next.

He wasn't going down as easy as she wanted from him… If anything? He wasn't going down period.

It was a moment before she passed out and he sighed, only knowing what was going to happen next and what he could have done.

(1 hour later)

When Kaina awoke? She could feel a fuzzy pillow behind her head, she looked to see she had been placed on a sofa with a pillow behind her head, her feet propped on the armrest, and a blanket draped over her.

She sniffed the air. This was an apartment, she knew this place, she had been here a few times and she knew more than anything where this place was.

She turned to look over at Storm who was busy, looking around as she did so. This was such an odd little thing, something she didn't notice for a longer period than he that she had been brought here. This place was always inviting.

"Oh, your awake," Kaina stated heard as she heard Storm slowly walking towards her, raising an eyebrow at her before he crossed her arms. "You know, it's not easy to carry a wanted criminal across town, carry her up the stairs, upwards, unlock a door then make sure they're ok on short notice." Storm said before he shrugged.

"Dumbass, you could have gotten yourself killed," Kaina said to which Storm simply shrugged at her, unsure of what to do next.

"You'd have gotten yourself killed already, you wanted to die that badly? Shocker, the great former hero wants to end up dead in a gutter." Hydro said before he cracked his fingers, looking at her as if she was insane.

She was to him. There was a moment of silence within their words, he didn't know her as well as he wished to have prepared for the worst. He didn't want it all to have come crashing down slowly yet surely. This wasn't the way it should have been prepared for the worst.

There was too much on their mind for him to have gotten where it should have been. Yes. If anything? He hadn't gotten it all done and dusted. There was so much more he could have done for now. It was so weird, so odd, and throwing him off.

"Are you going to stand there or are you going to do something, because as fun as this is? Well, I don't want to have to put up with it all… It hurts, it hurts a lot worse than it should have and I don't know what I'm going to do if you end up dying on me. It's not cool if you know… Just not cool." He stated before he looked at her, too unsure of what it should have been… All he cared about was the fact he could have stopped her…. He would stop her if he had to.

This pain wouldn't last… He'd not let it last for that long. There were a few seconds of him not knowing or wanting to know what she had been up to with all of this going on. it had been a nightmare for him.

This didn't end the way it was going to have to. There was simply no way he'd have allowed it to have come to that. There was little to nothing else on his mind. Nothing on his mind would have fixed it. There was just nothing else like it for now… Nope, this would have all gotten too far… Much too far for now and it hurt, it hurt a lot worse to have gotten to such a state.

There was so much more on his mind, something he hadn't been able to properly relax over and over again till he snapped like a piece of chaos.

There was a such chaotic thing on his mind. This had to end the way it should have or else it'd all be dusted and dusted with enough time and effort. There was no telling what would have happened

Yes… Such things had gone utterly pair shaped. So utterly pear-shaped with how it all had to have gone. He didn't know what else would have happened if he didn't get it there sooner or later. This was all going to have come crashing down eventually…. Such a thing would only cause him to flood backward to where he found peachy.

So peachy in fact, that it scared him as he walked toward her while she kicked out one of her feet toward him. All it did was show him what had been done and what was coming next to them. There's a lot more to have gotten off this all as of the time being when it clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

Nagant seemed to have questioned what to have prepared for now. She looked around, focusing on Surge who had his costume off.

"You going to shoot me in my own house, Kaina?" Surge asked as he put his soda down on the counter. "Go ahead. People are going to hear it… Then again? I think I'd probably go to jail either way… Not that I'd mind considering the gamble with all of this…" Surge stated before he sighed and looked around.

There were a lot of things that he wanted to say to the woman, a lot. She looked at him, her arm instinctively held out in the manner to shoot him to which Surge did nothing, it was entirely clear if she wanted. She had a damn free shot at him easily. He didn't even use his quirk to try and defend himself which he was capable of.

"You going to shoot me? Free shot, Kaina." Surge stated before he shook his head before he looked at her, waiting.

"What are you doing here?" Kaina asked as her bare feet found the ground and she withdrew her weapon into her arm before looking at her. "Why did you bring me to your apartment if you wanted to capture me?" Kaina asked as Surge took a seat to look at her.

She didn't understand what to have done next before she sighed, she looked at him with sympathy, even pity. It was clear surge didn't want to fight her, didn't want to admit she might have been a criminal and it was too late for her.

"I don't want to kill you, Oliver," Kaina said to which he raised an eyebrow. "You're my friend. That doesn't mean I won't kill others, just not that I'm not going to kill you because it's worth too much to me to see me die this way." Kaina said to which she sighed.

She pulled her feet back to let Oliver sit next to her, too curious as to what his next move was. Surge took a seat next to her and pushed her feet to the side as she raised an eyebrow.

"So, what's on your mind? I know something is, you are never quiet unless you're thinking about something. I know that." Oliver added to which she had assumed something for the time being. "You want something to drink? The fridge is open, damn thing has been broken since I got it and it's really hard to think with so much on the mind." Oliver stated to which he knew she'd be able to resist.

She was a quiet woman. It was clear something was on her mind, something was always on her mind, a mission, perhaps the next target, her ideas, perhaps even whom she'd be killing next. It was an exceptionally long cycle and one she often seemed destined to have repeated despite her best efforts… Despite what others had wanted for her. It scared her to the core of her very being for now as of now.

She didn't at all know who was going to have spoken to about it if she went over the deep end. Perhaps the problem would carry itself out the door.

Oliver put a tray of drinks down on the table and he sighed to himself, too amused by her antics to care as he looked at her.

"Kaina, you, ok?" Oliver asked, raising an eyebrow at her as she shook her head. "Are you going to need to rest or something?" Oliver questioned to which she had fallen silent.

"No. I'm ok, just tired. I don't know what the hell to do next and that terrifies the hell out of me." Nagant stated to which she had fallen entirely silent. "Why did you even save me at all? I've killed a lot of people before now. A lot of them, you know. It's not at all easy to deal with even if they're villains." Kaina stated to which he had shrugged to himself and looked around with amusement.

It was entirely clear she hadn't understood the same way he did. That was fine, it'd be finer still if he was honest as he patted her feet and looked at her.

"Because if you forgot?" Oliver said before he frowned and crossed his arms and looked up and into the ceiling. "There are all too many details when it comes to life at the end of the day. You aren't going to get hunted down to the ends of the world." Oliver stated before he signed to himself.

It was clear more or less Nagant wasn't used to being a criminal and while Oliver couldn't condone Kaina's murder of the president? She didn't deserve to go to jail for wanting to be free… Yet? He had made his choice and now there was to be a life with that decision. If Kaina was killed, then she died… Yet Oliver didn't plan to be the one who would tighten the noose around her throat.

Kaina swished her food around her plate, utterly thrown off by his gesture. It was clear she expected him to have slain her on the roof despite being a hero. The idealism from before she had. The gesture to try and make a good difference in the world was dead, replaced with dead cold eyes.

Kaina hummed and kicked her foot up onto the couch, kicking Oliver's leg which made the aquatic hero raise an eyebrow at her. It was clear she also seemed to be oddly at peace with her new life and it was oddly worth it to see it come so far and so soon… If anything? Well, it all fell into place.

"This is the same food you made last time." Kaina started before she shoved another bite into her mouth.

Oliver simply rolled his eyes; it was the same food e always made and that was true because it was to be the same type of food the aquatic hero had prepared before. It wasn't often people visited his apartment, so he saw no real reason to try and find more and more exotic foods to try and prepare, and he was no perfect chief.

"I could make some of the rice and stew you ate last time," Oliver said before Kaina nodded. "There's a guest room in the back. Nobody ever uses it so I guess you can take it." Oliver stated before he frowned at her.

Kaina fell silent as she slowly placed on foot on the ground. Her eyes looked up at Oliver who did not move, content simply to glance at her. The sound of silence fell over them as the two looked at one another.

Kaina didn't even need to ask WHY he'd help her. It was within his nature to, Oliver was NOTHING if not kind and caring, and yet? She had no response to it; she had spilled blood innocent or otherwise. He was a hero, even if not up the ladder like others, she knew he was a kind hero and if it was up to him, he'd probably not hold her murder against her.

His optimism was either born of stupid or he knew something she did not at all understand. The second seemed to be more likely due to the idea neither of them seemed to be aware of what the future was to hold.

Kaina decided against asking a silly and obvious question as to why he'd show her mercy, it was clear why he'd do so and how long she'd be offered mercy. So? She simply decided to try and make the most of her situation and what it held for her. Everything else could come later, if necessary, as of the moment.

Kaina was silent as she questioned what to do next as she slowly started to roll her eyes before she sighed and yet it seemed to be more and more interesting now. Kaina was oddly questionable for now as she seemed to have to focus on what to do next. It was a few seconds of silence before she slowly started to stand upward and then looked at Oliver.

Kaina was honestly curious as Oliver seemed to fall silent before yawning to himself. She slowly started to walk towards the room as the new assassin hero had fallen silent before she yawned and ran her fingers through her hair.

"Thank you…" Kaina stated as she fell silent, the plate still grasped in her hands.

"No problem, Kai," Oliver stated as he began to wash his plate before yawning once more. "If you're going out? There's a hoodie in the top drawer, I don't own women's clothing, so I'll give you some spending cash and let it go from there." Oliver stated as Kaina stopped at the doorway to the room.

"They're going to kill me, Ollie. You know that… And they will kill you if you're in their way." Kaina stated to which Oliver sighed and turned on his heel.

"You're a former assassin. It was all you did, even the asses who want to burn you know that. Any hero who would know the truth would know your hands already have blood on them and there wasn't at ALL something you wanted to do." Oliver stated as he leaned on the counter. "Killing the jackass who pretty much put a noose around your neck isn't evil. If they come? I'll deal with it, my job is to save people, not torment them because they snapped," Oliver said as Kaina fell silent once more.

It was clear her words numbed him or struck a chord within him. Oliver was not a bad person, and it was clear problems were to need to be addressed. Oliver said nothing as well, simply thrown off for now and not at all finding any peace in it all. Oliver was simply doing what he was to be doing the entire time he was a hero and he made it for now.

There was a need to try and win in their little game for now. it was clear Oliver wasn't trying to play a game with and yet. She didn't at all know what to say or what to do next… life was off like that, yet she didn't at all want to try and appease her friend by helping. She at least owed him in such a way, and it was to be clear more or less it could all end in a nice and collected way that needed to be ended before something terrible came and cut across them like a sickle of wheat.

It was all too clear as to now and yet it would end eventually. All too much for them and yet it didn't at all focus as of now that did not at all before now and yet? it felt more like a dream for now. A dream that he did not awaken from any time soon and it did not at all seem as if he would for now. Oliver was only certain of that sadly for now.

"Ollie? Are you going to be able to talk about it eventually?" Kaina seemed to ask before she looked at him and yawned before she found her voice a few seconds later. "Because I need to talk to you if that's ok… I need time to try and fix it, you know." Kalina stated before she fell silent and focused more.

"Are you going to be ok to do that then? I don't want to try and have a talk about problems… Or are you going to ask me about rent because I don't care about rent for now, only that you don't get into a shootout with someone for now." Oliver stated before he returned to his work.

"Secondly? I'm going to be ready with dinner in an hour. If you are not ready? I will leave some on your counter and you come to get it when you're ready." Oliver said before he sighed. "If you're going to go shopping? There's a general store downstairs and a convenience one with a few clothes down the street for now. I don't know if that helps, but I'm going to expect it to." Oliver stated before he sighed and looked around before yawning to himself.

Oliver was silent, utterly curious as to how this would have needed to be fixed and yet utterly confused, befuddled even, and yet so amused by her antics and such. It was clear least for Oliver that now there were increased problems.

He yawned to himself before looking around. Oliver heard the sound of boots hitting the floor and turned to see Kaina tossing her boots into another section of the room. She slowly walked towards him, placing her gloves on the coffee table to which he rolled his eyes before looking around as of now.

Oliver seemed to be able to focus on the fact she stood in front of him before she looked upwards.

"Are you going to be, ok?" Oliver asked, raising an eyebrow before looking upwards at her as she sighed and then fell silent.

"Are you going to be, ok?" Kaina questioned in return as Oliver rolled his eyes and slowly started to think for a second before yawning as he did so.

"Yes, because I'm a hero, I need to be ok… Just like how you need to stop fretting over every single little antic that comes and goes. You killed someone, I get it… Heroes aren't perfect, nobody in the world is and yet you don't know that for some reason, I pity that." Oliver stated before he shook his head.

"I'm not a damn hero, I'm an assassin, heroes don't kill countless people," Kaina stated to which Oliver rolled his eyes.

"Right, that's called an anti-hero, Kaina so you should remember that first of all… Secondly? Being an assassin doesn't mean you are not a hero. You still protected the others at the cost of your life." Oliver said before crossing his arms.

"Doesn't make me a good person," Kaina said to which Oliver was silent, utterly curious as to how she'd be upon now as she looked now. "You know now and more what I'm like when it comes down to it," Kaina stated before she looked upwards and into the sky before yawning to herself.

Kaina seemed to be more at peace before he slowly started to stalk towards her room before yawning to herself. It was worth noting that Oliver did not at all respond, his hands moving for only a moment before Kaina fell silent.

"Thank you," Kaina said as Oliver nodded before clicking his tongue and yawning to himself. "Are you going to need help with the groceries and chores today?" Kaina asked before she crossed her arms and yawned to herself.

It was clear more problems as of now. Well, it was becoming more of an issue that needed to be addressed, Kaina would only serve to make him tired as now and questioned what to do next now and yet it made her laugh for now.

Kaina looked at Oliver and decided she could not simply leave him. Not simply because it was terrible but because she owed Oliver and Kaina despised the idea of owing someone as it meant she'd not be able to focus and move onwards with her life unless she managed to fix it or whatever ailed her.

Kaina sighed to himself before now, slowly turning on her heel before slowly starting to march towards Oliver who was all too busy washing the dishes. Kaina took a spot next to him.

"Shut up, you're not going to just make food and then do all it for free, I'm not that crappy a person," Kaina stated as Oliver shrugged.

"Up to you. I'm not trying to force you and you're still tired from what it looks like, you were so tired I had to carry your body miles and miles back here and I don't even know what's going on." Kaina stated as he yawned before slowly starting to think for now.

It was worth it to see even an inkling of a smirk on his face. Yet? Oliver said nothing, not wanting to see her laid low or bothered. It was all too much, and it would probably continue to be too much for a long time, Kaina was a very damn stubborn woman, and she could never try and leave well enough alone at the moment, prepared only for the best and the worse.

Oliver said nothing as he also didn't want her to be bothered by such problems from him. it was worth it, and it would always be worth it, and it would always make him laugh.

Kaina tried to lean over his shoulder only to fail partly because Oliver was still taller than her and it became more and more obvious she wanted to try and mess with him to which not even for a few seconds did he humor her, allowing her to reach her arms over his shoulder and glancing at him, making him raise an eyebrow as he realized simply how odd it was and what would be coming next.

Oliver sighed as she gripped a place and then began to scrub it. All of it was clear she did not know what was going on as her attempts to clean it were… Hindered by the fact she neither put any soap on the plate nor she still wore gloves… It was worth a few laughs as Oliver made not a single attempt to try and get it all over with, perhaps for his own sake besides now.

Oliver yawned to himself, clearly simply trying to tease her and nothing else, all too eager to see it end and end properly, for now, slipping increasingly into the pit in his stomach before finding it curious for now. All it did was form a pit in his stomach it was not entirely amusing for now and yet it seemed worse.

Author Notes

Phew. Another chapter is done! I want to apologize for the last chapter. The next chapter will be 900-6500 words and will show both Kaina and Oliver living together and more about the plot. Until 2-10 months, Lighting Wolf out!
